In this paper, PSpice is used to deepen the student understanding of power electronics and to serve as a design tool for power converter circuits. A library that includes automated versions of dc/dc converters and rectifiers is built in PSpice using ideal switches. The automated version permits students to design converter circuits that meet a set of design criteria. The performance of various designs are tested by plotting the current and voltage waveforms using the graphics postprocessor Probe. The library was introduced to students in a power electronics course, and they have been asked to augment its contents through mini-design projects. The response was positive, which will encourage the extension of the approach to other subjects.  相似文献

This paper proposes a power electronics converter capable of canceling the input current ripple at preselected duty cycle. The proposed converter is an extended topology of a buck–boost converter aided by a boost‐type converter that improves the quality of the current drawn from the direct current source. The voltage gain of the proposed converter is increased as well, with a minimum of extra component added to the original buck–boost power converter. These features make the proposed converter ideal for low voltage generation sources, such as photovoltaic panel and fuel cell applications. Along this paper, the state space mathematical model is developed to provide the key design guidelines. The theoretical analysis is validated through computer simulation and hardware prototyping.  相似文献

本文旨在介绍汽车电压系统升级的背景和趋势。汽车电压系统的升级虽然有很多优点,但是,也对电力电子产业提出了更高的要求,本文将会介绍电力电子产业面临的挑战。在汽车电压系统的过渡过程中,为了能够兼容一些已经成熟的汽车电子产业和新兴的汽车电子产业,提出了14V/42V双电压供电系统,在汽车双电压供电系统中需要一个能量双向馈送DC-DC变换器,能够起到功率分配和降压的作用。该双向DC-DC变换器的设计,在体积、成本、温度、精确性等方面有更高的要求。本文也将重点介绍这种双向DC-DC变换器的作用和设计思想,并且介绍双向DC-DC变换器设计中有待解决的难题。  相似文献

Magnetic levitation of a metallic sphere motivates and inspires students to investigate and understand the fundamental principles of electrical engineering, such as magnetic design, circuit design, and control theory. This paper describes the operation of a pulse width modulation converter in a magnetic suspension system. The pulse width-modulated (PWM) converter illustrates modern principles of power electronics, such as PWM control, current-mode control, averaged and linearized models of switched-mode converters, and power supply design. The reduced size of the heat sink in the switched-mode converter compared with its linear amplifier counterpart clearly illustrates improved efficiency. The experimental system described levitates a 6-cm-diameter, 0.8-kg metallic sphere.  相似文献

电力电子系统通过功率半导体器件的开关控制来实现电磁能量的高效变换,提高系统的变换能力和可靠性是其终极目标。尝试以系统中的能量及能量流为状态变量进行建模,建立变换系统的能流模型,可视化并直观地描述电力电子变换系统电磁能量的分布和传递情况。以较复杂的多端口组合式电力电子变换器为例,建立"能流"的基本概念,设计构建能流图拓扑并给出可视化设计方法,结合科学计算可视化技术设计静态和动态界面,构建了一种基于能量流图分析方法的电力电子变换器系统设计和分析平台。仿真和实验结果表明,能量流图分析方法能有效地表征电力电子系统大时间尺度的换流过程。  相似文献

A technological trend of using freon-cooled power electronics for traction application has developed. The unique advantages offered by the Freon immersion technique, especially for diesel-electric locomotives applications, are described. Experimental data pertaining to recently developed Freon modules used for cooling high-power semiconductors are presented. A procedure based on a well-known caloric method is used to determine the component losses for the high-performance power converter and inverter designs with calculated efficiency values higher than 98%  相似文献

An immittance converter has fine performance in many power electronics applications. Its function is to convert voltage sources into current sources and current sources into voltage sources. The immittance converter has an input impedance that is proportional to the admittance of loads connected across output terminals. Therefore, in this converter, the output current is proportional to the input voltage and the input current is proportional to the output voltage. Consequently, it converts a constant voltage source into a constant current source and a constant current source into a constant voltage source. When an immittance converter operates at a resonant frequency and is inserted to high-frequency link systems, voltage source outputs turn into current source outputs and current source outputs turn into voltage source outputs. Some power electronics applications of this converter are photovoltaic inverters and dc-dc converters with constant current outputs. It is well known that a quarter-wavelength transmission line shows immittance conversion characteristics. However, it has a very long line length for its switching frequency (e.g., 20 kHz), and is not suitable for power electronics applications. Therefore we propose five immittance converters that consist of lumped L and C elements and show the immittance conversion characteristics at a resonant frequency. These immittance converters are much smaller and lighter than the transmission line. Their principles, basic circuits, and basic characteristics are described in this paper. This paper presents a new methodological approach to teaching power electronics converter experiments. This approach is based on a reconfigurable hardware–software platform for use in converter experiments in a basic power electronics course. This course is an optional subject, and, therefore, the experiments need to motivate the students. The platform is controlled by software (made in a LabVIEW environment) run on a PC. The student can control the fundamental parameters of the selected converter topology through the user interface and, with a little work, can compare the results with a real circuit. An example of use of the methodology in an inverter experiment is included.  相似文献

This paper presents an innovative power electronics curriculum spanning the undergraduate and graduate programs. The curriculum develops the basic concepts of the field and applies them to modern industrial challenges to solve practical problems. It is based on three fundamental disciplines: switching devices, circuits and topologies and control and drives. The curriculum, which will facilitate the development of optimal systems, bridges the gap between power semiconductor devices and circuit design. An underlying principle of the curriculum is the development of optimal application-specific power electronics systems, achieved primarily through optimization of power semiconductor devices. The curriculum is described in detail with an emphasis on the courses pertaining to power semiconductor device physics and converter circuit design. The role of advanced computer-aided design tools is also identified and shown to facilitate an application-specific device design and optimization methodology. To further illustrate the effectiveness of this approach, two industry-relevant course projects performed in the curriculum are presented in detail  相似文献

通过对燃料电池的特性及碳化硅(Si C)功率器件分析,研究适合车载用的高效率和高可靠性的燃料电池专用Boost变换器。通过对变换器的拓扑结构的优化、效率的提升及控制方法改进等方面研究,设计了一款电压变换比大的适合燃料电池运行要求的高效及可靠运行的变换器。试验样机测试证明,该变换器具有良好的动态和稳态控制特性、效率高,可实现燃料电池的稳定输出运行,有效保护了燃料电池,进一步延长了燃料电池寿命。  相似文献

In this paper we have presented a self-study expert system based power electronics instruction aid for selection and analysis of suitable power electronic converter configurations. Converter input output specifications, analysis, and converter design methodologies are interactively pursued with extensive graphical aid to guide the user (student, engineers, etc.) in the study process. Furthermore, transient, steady-state, and harmonic analysis are possible with an integrated simulator within the instruction module. A fault diagnosis expert system based module for converter-fed motor-drives, which can be chained with the expert learning aid, has also been developed. 伴随电力电子技术在环保节能、智能电网中的应用,高压大功率的电力电子设备得到大力推广。GaN器件变流器因其特殊的控制性能变成大功率、高压化控制的核心。设计了一种基于神经网络PSD算法的GaN器件变流器控制系统。当GaN器件变流器出现异常后,系统中故障信息采集模块能够高效采集GaN器件变流器异常信息并传输至自适应控制模块,自适应控制模块采用神经网络PSD算法,实现GaN器件变流器自适应控制。仿真结果表明:所设计系统对GaN器件变流器的功率、直流电流、环流以及电容电压可实现高精度控制,且该系统控制下交流器输出电压质量佳,相间短路、两相接地短路故障率得以降低,运行效率高。  相似文献

A Web-based laboratory exercise with remote access is presented, through which a student of Electrical/Electronic Engineering is introduced in both a theoretical and practical way, to many fundamental aspects of power electronics. The system is flexible and can expand the range of laboratory exercises where full-scale laboratories are not feasible. In the electrical environment, limits can be placed on voltages and currents for safety reasons. Prelaboratory investigations allow students to take an active involvement in the learning process by addressing some challenging and critical aspects of the design before approaching the physical system. Further understanding is gained by studying the circuit in a Web-based, interactive power electronics seminar (iPES) by simulating the circuit using PSpice and then analyzing the control and feedback issues with MATLAB. In the final stage, a real power converter is tested remotely over the Web, and the cycle of design, simulation, and test is completed using Web-based tools.  相似文献
