Age hardening characteristic and tensile property of Mg-3,5Dy-4.0Gd-3.1Nd-0.4Zr alloy were investigated. The alloy exhibits a considerable age hardening effect up to 250 ℃. Increasing the aging temperature leads to a shorter aging time to reach the peak hardness and a lower peak hardness. The tensile results show that the peak-aged specimens have higher tensile strength at the temperature below 200℃. However, with the increase of temperature further, the tensile strength decreases dramatically and elongation increases drastically. The loss in tensile strength and increase in elongation at high temperature are possibly associated with the instability of secondary precipitates. The fracture mechanism of alloy transfers from intergranular to transgranular with the increase of experimental temperature.  相似文献

As-cast AZ91+XCa (X=0, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, mass fraction) magnesium alloys were extruded into tube at 380℃ with an extrusion ratio of 6:1. The tensile properties and microstructures of extruded AZ91+XCa alloy tubes were investigated. The mierostructural observation indicates that Ca can obviously refine both α-Mg grains and Mg17Al12 phase of AZ91 magnesium alloy. XRD analysis shows that the microstructure of AZ91+0.5Ca alloy consists of a-Mg solid solution and Mg17Al12 phase, while AZ9 I+1.5Ca alloy contains additionally Al2Ca phase. The tensile experimental results show that for the AZ91 alloy, the addition of Ca has little influence on the ambient temPerature tensile properties but can improve the elevated temperature tensile properties. For the extruded AZ91+XCa alloys, the elevated temperature tensile strength decreases, and elongation increases with increasing the Ca content. The improvement in elevated temperature tensile strength of the alloy can be attributed to the presence of a Ca-containing phase, which can increase the microstructural stability of the alloy at elevated temperature.  相似文献

Effect of cooling rate on both microstructure and room temperature compressive performance of the AZ91 magnesium alloy was investigated. The experimental results show that with increasing cooling rate, the quantity of the solid solution phase increases and the fraction of secondary phase Mg17Al12 decreases. The almost single solid solution phase can be obtained with using liquid nitrogen as a coolant. The compressive strengths of the rapid solidified AZ91 magnesium alloys are higher than those of normal cast alloy, and decrease with increasing cooling rate. After artificial aging treatment for 14 h at 168 ℃, the compressive strength of the rapidly solidified AZ91 magnesium alloy cooled in liquid nitrogen increases from 253.5 to 335.3 MPa, while the compressive yield strength increases from 138.1 to 225.91 MPa. The improvement in the compressive strength of the rapidly solidified AZ9 lmagnesium alloys can be attributed to the hardening effect from fine secondary phase.  相似文献

Ti-62421 S(Ti-6 Al-2 Sn-4 Zr-2 Nb-1 Mo-0.2 Si)is a novel short-time using high-temperature titanium alloy. The effects of annealing on microstructure and tensile properties of Ti-62421 S alloy plate were studied through optical microscopy(OM), electron probe microanalysis(EPMA), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and tensile tests. The results show that, with annealing temperature increasing, the volume fraction of primary α(α_p)-phase decreases while that of transformed β(β_t)-structure and secondary α(α_s)-phase increases. The room-temperature strength and plasticity are insensitive to annealing temperature. However, with annealing temperature increasing, the tensile strength decreases at 550 ℃, while increases at 600 and 650 ℃ instead. It is suggested that, at550 ℃, the strengthening mechanism is mainly boundary strengthening and the biggest contributor is α_p-phase by providing α_p/β-boundary area. Above 600 ℃, the strengthening mechanism is grain strengthening, where α_sphase strengthens the β-phase.  相似文献

The characteristic of precipitation behavior of a2 phase and silicide, and the tensile properties at room temperature and 650℃after heat treatments in anovel TiAl-Sn-Zr-Mo-Nb-W-Si titanium alloy(BTi-6431 S) were investigated by microstructure analysis and mechanics performance testing. The results show that no second phase precipitates after solution treatment(980 ℃/2 h, air cooling(AC)). However, when the solution-treated specimens are aged at 600 ℃(600 ℃/2 h,AC),α_2 phase precipitates in the primary α phase, and the size of α_2 phase increases with the aging temperature increasing to 750 ℃. Meanwhile, 50-100-nm S2-type silicide particles precipitate along lamellar phase boundaries of transformed β phase after aging at 750 ℃. BTi-6431 S alloy shows the best650 ℃ ultimate tensile strength(UTS) and yield strength(YS) when treated in solution treatment. However, aging treatment results in a decline in 650 ℃ ultimate tensile strength. This may be attributed to the loss of solution strengthening due to the depletion of Al, Si and Zr of the matrix caused by the precipitation of Ti_3 Al and(TiZr)_6 Si_3.Silicide is a brittle phase; therefore, its precipitation causes a sharp decrease in the room-temperature ductility of BTi-6431 S alloy.  相似文献

The effect of Cu on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 2519 aluminum alloy was investigated by means of tensile test, microhardness test, transmission electron microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that when the content of Cu is less than 6.0%, the strength of 2519 aluminum alloy increases with the increase of Cu eontent; when the content of Cu is more than 6.0%, the strength of the alloy decreases. The hardening effect of the aged alloy is accelerated at 180℃ and the time to peak age is reduced, but the plasticity of the alloy gradually decreases with the increase of Cu content. However, the hardening effect of the aged alloy decreases with the increase of Cu as the content of Cu is over 6.0%. The optimal content of Cu of 2519 aluminum alloy is 6.0%, at which the alloy has best tensile strength and plasticity.  相似文献

The microstructural features and high temperature tensile properties of M963 superaUoy at as-cast, as-solutioned and as-aged conditions were investigated in detail. The results show that the solution treatment at 1220℃ for 4 h,AC causes an increase in high temperature yield strength but a drastic drop in high temperature ductility due to the precipitation of both the secondary carbide M6C along grain boundaries and at the interdendritic regions and very fine γ‘ particles in the dendrite cores. Aging treatment following the solution treatment can improve the high temperature tensile properties of M963 superalloy due to the coaraing of the γ’ precipitate. One stage aging at 850℃ for 16 h following the solution treatment causes an increase in both strength and ductility d alloy M963, and two-stage aging of 1089 ℃/2 h, AC plus 850℃/16 h, AC following the solution treatment further increases the ductility d alloy M963 but slightly decreases its strength.  相似文献

Casting titanium alloy TC4(ZTC4) after hot isostatic pressing(HIP) is one of the preferred materials in the field of aerospace manufacturing. In this paper, HIPZTC4 after a long-term thermal exposure was investigated. In order to evaluate the variation of mechanical properties with service time, the tensile properties of this alloy after exposure at 400 °C for 100, 500, and 1,000 h were investigated. Microstructure of samples was observed by the means of optical microscopy(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Tensile test was carried out under different test temperatures and fracture appearance was studied. The results show that the strength increases with exposure time due to the harder a2(Ti3Al) phase precipitated in the a phase and superficial oxygen layer formed, which results in the fact that the resistance of crack propagation could be increased and cracks first initiate between surface oxidation and the matrix. Besides, the tensile temperature also has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of HIPZTC4. The yield strength and tensile strength decrease with the increase of tensile temperature, while the total elongation increases.  相似文献

The cast Ti-6Al-4V alloy bars with different section sizes were fabricated by investment casting at counter-gravity condition with the mold temperatures of 300 °C and 650 °C, respectively. The microstructure of the alloy was observed by means of OM and SEM, and the effect of mold temperature and casting dimension on tensile properties was studied. Results show that equiaxed grains are obtained regardless of the casting dimension. β grain size tends to increase with an increase in mold temperature. Hot isostatic pressing of the alloy was carried out for tensile properties' comparison. Room temperature tensile test results show that Ti-6Al-4V alloy produced via counter-gravity casting has good balance of strength and ductility after hot isostatic pressing(HIP). The alloy shows higher ductility due to the elimination of porosity. In both cast and HIP status, the tensile strength is inclined to decrease with an increase in mold temperature, while the ductility is prone to slightly increase. Both the strength and ductility tend to decrease with an increase in the casting dimension.  相似文献

The microstructure, precipitate type, precipitate distribution and tensile strength of a ZL205 alloy, before and after ageing treatment, have been studied by means of optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that the as-cast microstructure of the alloy was made up of α-Al and eutectic phase distributed at the grain boundaries. During ageing treatment, the tensile strength increased at first and then reduced with time, and the highest ultimate tensile strength was found to be around 488.2 MPa.  相似文献

In the present study, the effect of Zn content on the microstructure and deformation behavior of the as-cast Mg–Zn–Y–Nd alloy has been investigated. The results showed that as Zn content increased, the volume fraction of secondary phases increased. Moreover, the phase transformation from W-phase to W-phase and I-phase occurred. In the as-cast state,W-phase exists as eutectic and large block form. When Zn content increases to 6 and 8%(wt%), small I-phase could precipitate around W-phase particles. Additionally, the effect of Zn content on the tensile properties and deformation behavior varies with the testing temperature. At room temperature, the tensile strength increases with Zn content, whereas the elongation increases initially and then decreases. At 250 °C, as Zn content increases, the tensile strength decreases initially and then increases slightly, whereas the elongation decreases. At 350 °C, the elongation increases with Zn content, whereas the tensile strength decreases initially and then increases slightly.  相似文献

The effects of aging treatment on the microstructures and mechanical properties of extruded AM50 + xCa alloys (x=0, 1, 2 wt.%) were studied. The results indicated the secondary phase Mgl7Al12 precipitated from the saturated α-Mg solid solution while Al2Ca changed slightly when the aging time was increased. The hardness of extruded AM50 + xCa al- loys increased initially to its peak, and then dropped to reach its original hardness with the increase in aging time. With the increase in aging temperature, the hardness of the AM50 + 2Ca ahoy decreased, whereas the hardness of AM50 and AM50 + 1Ca alloys decreased in the initial stages of aging treatment and increased in the later stages of aging treatment. The tensile strengths of AM50 and AM50 + 1Ca alloys increased after aging treatment for the precipitation of Mg17Al12 phase, which increases the resistance against dislocation movement at the grain boundary; with increase in aging temperature, their tensile strengths increased. For AM50 + 2Ca alloy, the tensile strength declined after aging at 150℃ and 175℃, while it increased slightly at 200℃. The ductility of AM50 + xCa alloys (x = 0, 1, 2 wt.%) declined after aging treatment.  相似文献

MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF Mg-Li ALLOY WITH Ca ADDITION   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Mg-9wt%Li-2wt%Zn alloy was prepared and studied in this article. The addition of Ca to the alloy from 0.1wt% to 1wt% can refine the α-Mg and the best effect of refinement occurs when Ca content is 0.4wt%-0.5wt%. The billets can be rolled to thin sheets at room temperature, from which it is obvious that the addition of Ca improves alloys ormalin. while it decreases with the excess addition of Ca. The results also show that the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and yield strength (YS) of the alloy with lwt% Ca may rise by 28% and 25%, respectively, however, the elongation decreases. It is clarified that the adsorption of proper Ca on the grain boundaries refines α-Mg and improves the tensile properties, but the presence of excess Ca and stable Ca2Mg6Zn3phase worsens the elongation.  相似文献

Digital patternless freeze-casting technology is a new approach for obtaining frozen sand moulds using digital milling technology. The change law of tensile strength and air permeability of frozen sand moulds (100-mesh and 200-mesh silica sand, and zircon sand moulds) under different freezing temperatures and water contents was studied. Results show that with the decrease of freezing temperature and the increase of water contents, the tensile strength and air permeability of the sand moulds are gradually improved.Meanwhile, computed tomography technology was used to characterize the shape and size of the water film between the sand particles mixed with 4wt.% water. The results show that in silica sand moulds, the form of water film is lumpy, and 200-mesh silica sand moulds have more water films and higher proportion of small-sized water films than 100-mesh silica sand moulds, while in zircon sand moulds, the form of water film is membranous. At the same freezing temperature and water content, the tensile strength of zircon sand mould is the highest, and 100-mesh silica sand mould is the lowest.A comparative solidification experiment of A356 aluminum alloy was carried out in frozen sand mould and resin sand mould. The results show that the primary α-Al phase appears in the form of equiaxed and eutectic silicon phase is needle-like in freezing sand mould casting, but the primary α-Al phase grows in the form of dendrites, and the eutectic silicon phase is coarse needle-like in the resin sand mould casting. The difference of microstructure is caused by the different cooling rate. The cooling rate of A356 aluminum alloy in frozen sand mould is higher than that in resin sand mould.  相似文献

Solution and aging treatments are important approaches to improve mechanical properties and microstructure of aluminum-base alloys. In this research, a new type high strength AI-Cu-Si-Mn cast alloy was prepared. The effect of different solution and aging treatment temperatures on microstructure and mechanical properties of the AI-Cu-Si-Mn cast alloy were studied by means of microstructure observation and mechanical properties testing. Results showed that after solution treated at different temperatures for 12 h and aged at 175 ℃ for 12 h, with the increase of the solution temperature, both the tensile strength and the elongation of the alloy firstly increase and then decrease, and reach their peak values at 530 ℃. When the solution temperature is below 530 ℃, the microstructure of the alloy consists of a phase, undissolved e phase and T phase; while when it exceeds 530 ℃, the microstructure only consists of cr phase and T phase. After solution treated at 530 ℃ for 12 h and aged at different temperatures for 12 h, both the tensile strength and the elongation of the alloy firstly increase and then decrease with the increasing of temperature, and reach their peak values at 175 ℃. Therefore, the optimal heat treatment process for the alloy in this study is 12 h solution at 530 ℃ and 12 h aging at 175 ℃, and the corresponding tensile strength is 417 MPa, elongation is 4.0%.  相似文献

One kind of Mg3.5Zn0.6Gd-based alloy strengthened with quasicrystals was designed, and the effect of alloying elements on microstructure and mechanical properties of as-cast Mg-Zn-Gd alloy at room temperature and elevated temperatures were studied. The results indicate that MgZnCu Laves phase, which coexists with quasicrystal at grain boundary, emerges with the addition of copper element in Mg-Zn-Gd alloy. The strength of alloys exhibits the parabola curve with the increase of copper content. The alloy with 1.5% (mole fraction) Cu shows better mechanical properties at room temperature: tensile strength 176 MPa, yield strength 176 MPa and elongation 6.5%. The existence of MgZnCu Laves phase can effectively improve the heat resistance and elevated temperature properties of the alloy. The alloy with 1.5% Cu has better mechanical properties at 200℃ : tensile strength 130 MPa and elongation 18.5%. The creep test of the alloys at 200℃ and 50 MPa for 102 h indicates that Mg3.5Zn0.6Gd alloy reinforced with quasicrystal has better creep properties than AE42, which can be further improved with the introduction of Laves phase in the alloy.  相似文献

The isothermal compression testing of Ti555211 titanium alloys was carried out at deformation temperatures from 750 to 950 ℃ in 50 ℃ intervals, with strain rate of 0.001-1.000 s~(-1) and height reduction of 20%-60%.The effect of processing parameters(deformation temperature, strain rate and deformation degree) on the microstructure evolution and the microstructure variables was investigated. The results show that the content of primary α phase decreases with the increase in deformation temperature. The effect of strain rate on microstructure variables of isothermally compressed Ti555211 alloy is mainly dependent on the deformation temperature. The fine second α phase partly transforms to β phase due to the deformation heat effect at the high strain rate,α phase becomes globular with temperature increasing and strain rate decreasing. In contrast,α phase is refined with temperature decreasing and strain rate increasing. The deformation degree has a little influence on the grain size and the morphology of primary α phase, but the effect of deformation degree on the morphology of second α phase is significant. The larger deformation degree is in favor of the globularization of lamellar α structure.  相似文献

An internal oxidation method was applied to investigate the dispersion-strengthening of Pt-Ir-Zr alloy, and the thermodynamic condition was explored for this alloy. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed to analyze the internal oxidation morphologies. Combining with tensile strength, the optimal internal oxidation time was determined. The results show that oxidation of Ir and Zr will occur under the experimental condition, and the oxygen pressure of Zr is lower than that of Ir. The grain size of the alloy increases with the prolonging of time and remains stable when the oxidation time is up to 40 h. The tensile strength decreases exponentially with the increase of oxidation time. The time for optimal internal oxidation is 40 h at 1100 °C.  相似文献

The microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-xSn(x=3,7 and 14,mass fraction,%) alloys extruded indirectly at 300℃ were investigated by means of optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and tensile test. The grain size of theα-Mg matrix decreases from 220,160 and 93μm after the homogenization treatment to 28,3 and 16μm in the three alloys after extrusion, respectively. The results show that the grain refinement is most remarkable in the as-extruded Mg-7Sn alloy. At the same time, the amount of the Mg2Sn particles remarkably increases in the Mg-7Sn alloy with very uniform distribution in theα-Mg matrix. In contrast, the Mg2Sn phase inherited from the solidification with a large size is mainly distributed along grain boundary in the Mg-14Sn alloy. The tensile tests at room temperature show that the ultimate tensile strength of the as-extruded Mg-7Sn alloy is the highest,i.e.,255 MPa,increased by 120%as compared with that of as-cast samples.  相似文献

The influence of deformation parameters including deformation temperature, degree and speed on the microstructure and mechanical properties of TA15 titanium alloy was studied. The volume fraction, size and aspect ratio of primary a phase in deformed TAI 5 titanium alloy were quantitatively characterized. With increasing deformation temperature, the volume fraction and size of primary α phase decrease. The aspect ratio of primary a phase decreases with increasing deformation temperature. The tensile strength of TA15 alloy deformed at 0.1 mm/s is higher than that at 0.3 mm/s. After therlnoforming at 960℃, 0.1 mrn/s, the tensile strength is the highest up to 1 035 MPa and the elongation is 13.5%. When the thermoforming temperature is 1 050℃, the strength and elongation are both relative low, because the microstructure is Widmanstaten structure.  相似文献
