1 Factors Influencing Two-stage Printing ,with Reactive Dyes

Abstract： The influence of dosage of fixation agent, paste types, and superheated steam on two-stage printing with reactive dyes is investigated. The tested K/S values show that increasing the dosage of fixation agent increases the apparent depth of shade. Three different types of reactive dyes are mixed with sodium alginate paste and composite paste respectively and then printing experiments are performed with them. Comparison of the printing results indicates that the apparent depth of shade.of the fabric printed with composite paste ＋ reactive dyes increases with the increase of fixing time. The experiment of colour fixing with superheated steam shows that the appropriate time for fixing is two minutes.
