This paper presents the development of a comprehensive simulation model of a horizontal scroll compressor, which combines a detailed compression process model (Chen Y., Halm N., Groll E., Braun J. Mathematical modelling of scroll compressors — part I: compression process modeling, International Journal of Refrigeration 2002;25(6):731–750) and an overall compressor model. In the overall model, compressor components are analyzed in terms of nine different elements. Steady state energy balance equations are established applying the lumped capacitance method. In combination with the detailed compression process model, these equations were implemented into computer code and solved recursively. In this way, the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant in different compressor chambers, the temperature distributions in the scroll wraps, and the temperatures of the other compressor elements can be obtained. Thereafter, power consumption and efficiency of the compressor can be calculated. Tests were used to verify the overall model on a macroscopic basis. Using the simulation program based on the overall compressor model, a parametric study of the scroll compressor was performed, and the effects of internal leakage and heat transfer losses were investigated and some preliminary results were obtained. These results indicate that the comprehensive scroll compressor model is capable of predicting real compressor behavior and useful to the design and optimization of scroll compressors.  相似文献

This paper describes an experimental study on the convective heat transfer inside the scroll compressor. An experimental refrigeration system is composed with extensive instrumentations in the compressor that is operated at variable speeds. The 13 thermocouples installed inside the compressor monitor the temperatures of the scroll wrap during compression process of refrigerant. The temperature and the pressure of refrigerant at suction, and the pressure at discharge ports are measured, and applied to the numerical simulation as the operating condition parameters. The temperature measured at the discharge port is used to verify the simulation result with relevant heat transfer coefficient. This paper describes the effect of motion of the orbiting scroll on the convective heat transfer in the scroll wraps. Separate experiments are performed to investigate the heat transfer in such a peculiar physical condition. With this experimental result, the effect of the oscillation of the wall on the heat transfer is quantitatively analyzed and applied to the simulation of compression process in scroll compressor. The whole consecutive compression processes in the scroll compressor is simulated in detail by solving equations of mass and energy balance for the refrigerant. The modified heat transfer coefficient correlation considering the effect of motion of the orbiting scroll predicts the discharge temperature better than other typical heat transfer coefficients.  相似文献

The first part of this paper presents an experimental analysis of different hermetic scroll compressors using different methods of injection: the first one is without injection, the second one uses vapor injection and the third one liquid injection. The analysis reveals the influence of these methods on the compressor behavior. A simplified model of the scroll compressor is then proposed that takes into account not only the different internal processes but also the refrigerant injection. It assumes that the refrigerant mass flow rate is affected by a heating-up due to a uniform wall temperature. This fictitious wall is supposed to gain heat from the electromechanical losses and from the discharged gas and to loose heat to the suction and to the ambient. The compression step is considered isentropic up to the adapted pressure and then at constant volume until the discharge pressure. The model is able to compute variables of first importance like the mass flow rate, the electric power and the discharge temperature, as well as secondary variables as suction heating-up, discharge cooling-down, and ambient losses. The validation based on 45 experimental results shows excellent results.  相似文献

A thermodynamic model for a variable speed scroll compressor with refrigerant injection was developed using continuity, energy conservation and real gas equation. The model included energy balance in the low-pressure shell compressor, suction gas heating, motor efficiency, and volumetric efficiency considering gas leakages as a function of compressor frequency. The developed model was verified by comparing the predicted results for the no injection condition with the experimental data. The deviations of the predicted from the measured values were within 10% for approximately 90% of the experimental data. Based on the model, mass flow rate, suction gas heating, cooling capacity and power consumption of the compressor were estimated and analyzed as a function of frequency. The effects of refrigerant injection on the performance of the compressor were also discussed as a function of frequency, injection conditions, and injection geometry.

Résumé

相似文献

The operation of a scroll compressor at high compression ratios can cause excessively high discharge temperatures, which can be detrimental to the reliability and efficiency of the compressor. In the present study, the performance of an inverter-driven scroll compressor with liquid refrigerant injection was measured with a variation of compressor frequency, injection pressure, and injection location. The influence of the liquid injection on the performance is presented as a function of operating parameters and injection location by comparing the results with those for the non-injection case. It was found that liquid injection under high frequency was very effective at attaining higher performance and reliability of the compressor, but injection under low frequency showed some disadvantages. For high frequency at a given injection ratio, the injection at α=180°, for an injection angle at an injection port, yielded slightly better performance of the compressor as compared to that at α=90°.  相似文献

Experiments on the inner compression process of scroll compressor with refrigerant injection can reveal the essence of refrigerant injection. The difficulty of the experiment is the design of location of measuring ports, measuring system of dynamic pressure and design of the injection system. Focusing on the dynamic pressure measurement of inner compression process during refrigerant injection, an integrated bench design method for refrigerant injection research in scroll compressor is presented in this paper. The location design of injection ports and measuring ports, frequency spectrum analysis of pressure signal, selection of the sensor type and configuration, and design of the pressure-leading system are expressed, respectively. Finally, a test bench is set up. Based on it, several elementary experiments were carried out. The results show that: this design method solves most problems in the experimental research of scroll compressor with refrigerant injection and works reliably; the refrigerant injection effects the majority of the inner compression process and should not be considered as a transient process; gas injection can increase the system performance greatly and there is an optimal injection pressure for a certain scroll compressor.  相似文献

In this study, fundamental and practical influence of liquid refrigerant injection on the performance of a refrigerant scroll compressor has been investigated experimentally and theoretically. In the theoretical analysis, a compression model of vapor/liquid mixture is developed by taking account of heat transfer from the cylinder wall to suction, compression and injection refrigerant. An experiment has been done under the condition of keeping the oil temperature constant in order to investigate the fundamental influence of the liquid refrigerant injection on the compressor performance, and the results were compared with the theoretical ones. It was found that the injection basically increases the compression power and decreases the compressor efficiency, though the situation depends on the condition of the heat transfer to the injection refrigerant. And furthermore, the performance of the liquid refrigerant injection compressor under practical operating condition without controlling the oil temperature has been investigated. Under this condition, the compressor showed recovery and slight improvement of performance due to the decrease of the oil and cylinder temperatures by the injection. In addition, influence of the refrigerant injection on the oil viscosity and refrigerant solubility in the oil, which relate mechanical loss and reliability of the compressor, have been discussed.  相似文献

The thermal modeling of rotary vane compressor (RVC) was performed in this paper by applying Artificial Neural Network (ANN) method. In the first step, appropriate tests were designed and experimental data were collected during steady state operating condition of RVC in the experimental setup. Then parameters including refrigerant suction temperature and pressure, compressor rotating speed as well as refrigerant discharge pressure were adjusted. With these input values, the operating output parameters such as refrigerant mass flow rate and refrigerant discharge temperature were measured. In the second step, the experimental results were used to train ANN model for predicting RVC operating parameters such as refrigerant mass flow rate and compressor power consumption. These predicted operating parameters by ANN model agreed well with the experimental values with correlation coefficient in the range of 0.962-0.998, mean relative errors in the range of 2.79-7.36% as well as root mean square error (RMSE) 10.59 kg h−1 and 12 K for refrigerant mass flow rate and refrigerant discharge temperature, respectively. Results showed closer predictions with experimental results for ANN model in comparison with nolinear regression model.  相似文献

In the semi-hermetic screw refrigeration compressor, the motor is mostly cooled down by suction refrigerant before it flows into the compressor suction port. To investigate cooling effects of the motor and performance of the compressor under part-load conditions, a lumped parameter model describing heat-transfer characteristics inside the motor and a part-load model of screw refrigeration compressor are developed and validated. Heating effects at compressor suction end and heat conduction from the male rotor screw to the motor shaft are taken into account. Nodes representing refrigerant inside the motor cooling passages are modeled separately. Temperature rise of refrigerant through the motor increases when the compressor load drops by either suction volume variation or speed variation. With drop of the compressor load, stator winding temperature goes up in the case of suction volume variation by slide valve motion, but it lows in the case of speed variation by frequency conversion.  相似文献

A refrigeration system was developed which combines a basic vapor compression refrigeration cycle with an ejector cooling cycle. The ejector cooling cycle is driven by the waste heat from the condenser in the vapor compression refrigeration cycle. The additional cooling capacity from the ejector cycle is directly input into the evaporator of the vapor compression refrigeration cycle. The governing equations are derived based on energy and mass conservation in each component including the compressor, ejector, generator, booster and heat exchangers. The system performance is first analyzed for the on-design conditions. The results show that the COP is improved by 9.1% for R22 system. The system is then compared with a basic refrigeration system for variations of five important variables. The system analysis shows that this refrigeration system can effectively improve the COP by the ejector cycle with the refrigerant which has high compressor discharge temperature.  相似文献

In a refrigerant compressor, improvement in performance such as reduction of various electrical and mechanical losses, reduction of gas leakage, better lubrication, reduction of suction gas heating etc. can be achieved by maintaining a low temperature rise inside the compressor. Proper selection and location of an internal over load protector relay, estimation of heat transfer coefficient and winding insulation coefficient are also vital in enhancing the performance. In this context it is necessary to understand the temperature distribution inside a compressor for an optimal design. In this paper, a numerical model has been created and a heat transfer analysis for a hermetically sealed reciprocating refrigerant compressor is presented. The temperature distribution inside the compressor has been obtained taking into consideration the various heat sources and sinks and compared with experimental results. The maximum temperature was observed at the rotor which was 427.5 K. The deviation of the predicted rotor temperature from that of experimental value is 5.5% only. A good agreement was found between experimental results and that predicted in the numerical analysis.  相似文献

In this work, an unsteady state analysis of the compression cycle of a small hermetic reciprocating compressor for domestic refrigeration was carried out. A specific one-dimensional model of the valves was developed and the mass and energy balances were applied to the refrigerant inside the cylinder to determine the mass, pressure and temperature behaviour and the heat and work transfer through the compression process. This analysis was inserted into a traditional steady state model of the compressor to evaluate the efficiency of the compression cycle and the performance of the compressor unit. The whole simulation code was validated against the experimental measurements carried out on a R134a commercial unit in a wide range of operative conditions: a fair agreement was found between predicted and measured performances. The simulation code can be a useful tool for the analysis, the design and the development of small hermetic reciprocating compressors for domestic refrigeration.  相似文献

A dummy port plays an important role in the porting process and the improvement of the performance of a scroll compressor. This paper documents an investigation on the working mechanism of the dummy port in a scroll compressor. To characterize the dummy port effects on the different parts of the scroll compressor, two scroll compressors, one with and the other without a dummy port, are studied comparatively. The flow through the dummy port is examined in the background of an integrated compressor working process. The assembly of the compressor under investigation includes the upper bearing housing, scrolls, check valve, and discharge plenum. The Navier–Stokes equations with a k turbulence model are solved at the standard operating conditions of a scroll compressor. Refrigerant-22 is used as the working fluid. The thermodynamic and transport properties of the refrigerant gas are modeled by the Martin–Hou equation of state and power laws, respectively. Global flow physics is investigated first to lay a foundation to understand the working mechanisms that control the porting process before averaging techniques are applied. The behavior of the gas pockets in the porting process is characterized in both geometric and dynamic nature. The time-dependent variation of volume, mass, energy, and volume-averaged field quantities inside the gas pockets are studied throughout the porting process. The impact of the dummy port on the compressor performance is defined.  相似文献

Based on discretional initial angles of involute of scroll compressors, a general mathematical representation of scroll wraps, working chamber volume and leakage areas is presented. The scroll wraps' geometrical expressions, including interaction arc, of the involute angle with discretional initial angles of involute are developed. By using it, a new calculation formula of working chamber volume without restriction to special involute initial angles is set up and the expression of the volume during all the suction, compression and discharge processes in a general subsection function style is given. A geometrical model of leakage areas, including flank in, flank out, radial in and radial out, is also developed based on the discretional initial angles condition. Finally, this geometrical model is applied in a thermodynamic model and the simulation results are compared with some former experimental results. It is found that this model has a satisfactory accuracy and is easy to be used in thermodynamic simulation.  相似文献

A lumped-parameter thermal model is presented to predict the temperature in different chambers and components inside scroll compressors with particular attention to gas superheating in the suction process. Thermal resistances between the components are based on global heat transfer conductances, whereas conduction heat transfer through the scroll wraps is solved via a one-dimensional finite volume method. The thermal model was coupled to a thermodynamic model of the compression cycle and then applied to simulate the compressor performance under different conditions of speed and pressure ratio. The model was able to correctly predict the compressor temperature for operating conditions within the range of those adopted for its calibration. The results showed a strong coupling between the compressor thermal profile and the temperatures of the motor and lubricating oil. It has also been found that heat conduction through the scroll wraps reduces slightly the discharge temperature.  相似文献

In this paper a new mathematical model for calculating the indicator diagram of twin screw refrigeration compressor is presented firstly. The geometric parameters related to the rotation angle of male rotor are used in the model such as groove volume, suction and discharge port area, slide valve bypass port area, leakage area etc. The effects of internal leakage through five paths, oil injection, gas–oil heat transfer, refrigerant property and partial loading etc. are taken into account simultaneously and separately in the theoretical study. To verify the model and the calculated p–V indicator diagram, experimental recording of p–V indicator diagram of twin screw refrigeration compressor is carried out. Various indicator diagrams are recorded successfully by a small pressure sensor embedded in the bottom of female rotor at the discharge side. The results of theoretical calculation are in good agreement with the measured data, which lead to conclusion that the model can be used as a powerful tool for performance prediction and product development.  相似文献

A number of geometrical curves have been used to form the wraps of scroll compressors. When the suction pressure, pressure ratio, scroll wrap height and thickness, and suction volume are constant, the effect of the involute curves of a cricle, square and line segment on the performances of the scroll compressor, such as geometrical parameters, leakage line length and various gas forces acting on the orbiting scroll are analysed in this paper. The effects of these scroll wraps on the performance of the scroll compressor vary as the suction volume changes. The results in this paper should be considered in scroll compressor design.  相似文献

For a rolling piston rotary compressor, oil supply into various lubrication elements has been analytically studied. The lubrication system, consisting of centrifugal shaft pump, radial oil feeding holes, bearings with grooves and some other sliding surfaces has been modeled by employing equivalent electric circuit network. A computer simulation program has been developed to solve the network model of the lubrication system. Its numerical solutions include total oil flow rate into the shaft inlet, oil flow rates in the main and sub journal bearings and in the eccentric bearing, and oil leakages through roller end clearances into suction and compression chambers. Validation of the numerical simulation has been made by the measurement of the total oil flow rate into the shaft. With the aid of computer simulation, parametric studies have also been carried to investigate the effects of the bearing groove shape and groove inclination angle on the bearing oil flow rates.  相似文献

The performance of a twin screw compressor operating under wet (two-phase) compression conditions in an ammonia–water compression absorption heat pump cycle is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The paper reports on the influence of the location of liquid intake or, depending what applies, injection angle and mass flow rate of the injected liquid on compressor performance. Labyrinth seals separate the oil-free process side from oil lubricated bearing housing. Labyrinth seals leakage is modelled and its impact on performance is theoretically and experimentally investigated. The need for liquid injection from the discharge side to obtain acceptable performance is discussed based on experimental results.  相似文献
