This paper presents a mathematical model for calculating the budgetary impact of increasing the required confidence level in a probabilistic risk assessment for a portfolio of projects. The model provides a rational approach for establishing a probabilistic budget for an individual project in such a way that the budget for a portfolio of projects will meet a required confidence level. The use of probabilistic risk assessment in major infrastructure projects is increasing to cope with major cost overruns and schedule delays. The outcome of the probabilistic risk assessment is often a distribution for project costs. The question is at what level of confidence (i.e., the probability that budget would be sufficient given the cost distribution) should be used for establishing the budget. The proposed method looks at a portfolio of such projects being funded by the same owner. The owner can establish a target probability with respect to its annual budget. The model can help the owner establish confidence level for individual projects and also examine the effect of changing the confidence level of the portfolio budget on the budget and the confidence level of individual projects. The paper is relevant to practitioners because it provides a methodology for establishing confidence levels by the owner agencies in the emerging field of cost risk assessment for infrastructure projects. A numerical example is provided using actual transit project data to demonstrate the model application.  相似文献

The nonlinear Muskingum and diffusion wave methods for flood routing are deduced from a conservative modified-advection equation as an approximation of the one-dimensional Saint-Venant equations. The modified-advection equation has the kinematic wave speed and attenuation parameter as functions of discharge, which can be derived for the particular averaged geometry for the cross section and hydraulic properties of the reach. The nonlinear Muskingum and diffusion wave methods also include any uniformly distributed time-dependent lateral inflow along the river and are valid for any Froude number. The methods are discussed in relation to corresponding methods derived recently for Muskingum routing and for diffusion wave routing. Numerical experiments on a synthetic river including extensive flood plains show that the proposed nonlinear Muskingum method is highly accurate compared with a full solution of the Saint-Venant equations. The deterioration of accuracy with decreasing bed gradient is highlighted for cases with and without lateral inflow.  相似文献

The electrowinning of titanium, magnesium and aluminium is discussed in some detail. The development of a new process for the electrowinning of titanium is described. 建立了锍试金富集电感耦合等离子体质谱法(ICP-MS)测定地质样品中铂、钯、铑、铱的新方法。样品用硫化镍富集,酸处理除去碱金属硫化物,过滤,残渣用盐酸和过氧化氢溶解,ICP-MS法测定。研究了富集时各种因素的影响。方法检出限:Pt为0.11ng/g,Pd为0.038ng/g,Rh为0.016ng/g,Ir为0.040ng/g;相对标准偏差(n=12):Pt为4.09%,Pd为4.75%,Rh为4.53%,Ir为4.78%。测定了国家一级地球化学标准物质中痕量Pt,Pd,Rh,Ir,结果与认定值相吻合。  相似文献

Fundamental principles of elastic–plastic mechanics of soils and rocks are given on the base of the original publications. The solid friction and dilatancy effects are included in the nonstandard form of nonassociative rule of plastic flow. The resulting hyperbolic system of equations is represented for a plane case. The slip surfaces are assumed to be jump tangential discontinuities of a velocity field. The possibility of limit equilibrium at slip surfaces is accounted for. The attempts to account for grain rotations, permitting study of slip surface structure, are discussed. The Biot–Frenkel model of interpenetrating continua is developed for plastic flow of porous saturated matrix. In this case the solid matrix state is determined by the effective stresses and pore pressure diffusion happens in plastically flowing matrix. To illustrate the theory possibilities, solutions for failure and mass sand flow, driven by the pore pressure gradient, are selected. They are important especially for oil/gas reservoirs with a weak matrix, typical for offshore geology.  相似文献

文章阐述了X射线残余奥氏体定量分析的基本原理.经过对马氏体相和奥氏体相的衍射线的分别标定,选定马氏体和奥氏体的一条衍射线,分别测出它们的累积强度,用残余奥氏体定量分析公式来计算残余奥氏体体积百分含量.利用X射线衍射残奥定量测定方法,对喷射成形高速钢圆坯中残余奥氏体含量进行了测定,阐明了喷射成形圆坯密度变化的原因和机理,同时还对喷射成形过程中圆坯的冷却条件对残余奥氏体量的影响进行了合理的分析.为喷射成型新材料的工艺研究,提供了一种新的测试手段.  相似文献

The paper is a review of the properties of the new extractants investigated in the author's laboratory during the last two decades for the chemical separations needed for the nuclear fuel cycle. The choice of the new extractants takes into account the desire to limit as much as possible the process waste. Four topics are discussed. I) The possible replacement of TBP by N,N-dialkylamides in the classical PUREX process {U and Pu recovery from irradiated nuclear fuels), or for other chemical separations. 2) The possible use of substituted 1,3-diamides propane for the decommissioning of a nuclear wastes containing Am(III), Cm(III) or other actinides in the tetra or hexavalent state. 3) The soft donor extractants for trivalent actinide-lanthanide group separations. 4) The exploration to find new extractants for separation of all the actinides (III, IV, VI) from the spent nuclear fuels, using only one extraction cycle, necessitating /?, y heavy shielding. The trivalent lanthanides must remain in the effluent for this separation.  相似文献
