The regression coefficient of the well-known Angstrom correlation are determined for Riyadh city (the capital of Saudi Arabia) longitude 46° 14′E 24°55′N The relationship of the daily and monthly variation of the fraction of the diffuse solar irradiation to extrateresstrial and the clearness index are obtained. The variation of the values of the average daily global solar radiation against the month of the year is reported. The value of Kn defined as the ratio of direct normal Insolation, Hbn measured in Riyadh to direct normal solar extraterrestrial radiation with the KT and Kd were obtained. The daily diffused ratio and the daily clearness index are shown as a function of the month of the year.  相似文献

Measurements of direct solar radiation intensity, using an Angström compensation pyrheliometer carried out over three harmattan seasons (1985–1987) at Ile-Ife (7°29′N, 4°34′E), Nigeria, have been used to determine atmospheric turbidity based on five different models of turbidity viz:: Schüepp (B), Angstrom (β), Kastrov (C), Unsworth (τa) and Linke (T). The five parameters indicate high aerosol loading of the atmosphere during the period and high correlation is established between them: (0.919 r 0.999). An inverse relationship has been noticed between horizontal visibility and atmospheric turbidity: (−0.80 r −0.76).  相似文献

In the year 1998, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO), Directorate of Science and Scientific Research, Tunis, had launched the “Solar Radiation Atlas for the Arab World”. This atlas contains three sets of maps (using Mercator projection) for monthly means, where each stands for one month. These are sunshine duration, global solar radiation and diffuse solar radiation. The atlas contains data for nearly 280 stations from 19 Arab states which cover latitudes from 0° (tropic) to 37°N and longitudes 19°E to nearly 60°E with different elevations from the sea level. It also contains useful tables of the monthly recorded means of the direct, diffuse and global solar radiation as well as the sunshine duration for 16 Arab states including 207 cities.The maximum recorded annual mean (10 years) of the global solar radiation in the Arab world was 6.7 kW h/m2/day in Nouakchott (latitude 20°56′N, longitude 17°02′E), Mauritania, and 6.6 kW h/m2/day in Tamenraset (latitude 36°11′N and longitude 5°31′E), Algeria, while the lowest recorded annual mean global solar radiation was 4.1 kW h/m2/day in Mosul (latitude 43°N and longitude 36°E), Iraq. Furthermore, the maximum recorded annual mean sunshine duration in the Arab world was 10.7 h in Aswan (latitude 23°58′N, longitude 32°47′E), Egypt, and the lowest was 7.5 h in Tunis (latitude 36°50′N, longitude 10°14′E), Tunisia.  相似文献

Total (global) solar radiation, H, and diffuse solar radiation, Hd were measured at Ilorin (8° 30′N 4° 42′E) Nigeria. From these, the daily values of H/H0 and Hd/H were computed, where H0 is the extraterrestrial radiation. The relationship between the two ratios and their variation with the prevailing atmospheric conditions were examined.The ratios were found to be opposite in characteristics. H/H0 has high values in clear atmospheres and low values in cloudy or turbid atmospheres; and vice-versa for Hd/H. The two ratios are negatively linearly related and with this fact, two simple mathematical models were obtained for estimating Hd/H in terms of H/H0.  相似文献

Measurements were carried out at Cairo (30.05°N, 31.17°E) and Aswan (23.58°N, 32.47°E) in Egypt for three years (1990–1992) by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority. The measurements were done using an Eppley ultraviolet radiometer to measure the global ultraviolet solar radiation (UV), Eppley pyranometers to measure the global solar radiation (G) and the pyrgeometers with silicon dome from Eppley to measure the atmospheric infrared radiation (IR). The clearness index (Kt) and the diffuse fraction (Kd) for both regions have been calculated. Finally the total suspended particles for Cairo and Helwan and their interaction with the solar radiation has been found.  相似文献

Except for the seasons, nothing is thought to influence surface-level solar radiation and wind velocity patterns on timescales of up to about a decade as much as El Nino events. Here we report new information about El Nino events by illustratively showing that whenever the mean air temperature T at land-based Dar es Salaam station (6°53′S, 39°12′E) and the mean air temperature Tn over some off-shore equatorial islands in the Indian ocean have similar quasi-regular periods, El Nino events take place at approximately regular frequency patterns. These frequency patterns, however, change whenever Tn and T acquire dissimilar periods. Finally we show that variations in the Southern Oscillation index (whose low negative values and high positive values coincide with El Nino and anti-El Nino events, respectively) were characterised by one particular amplitude-modulating state from 1954 up to about 1987. Moreover these variations switched into a different state about 1987 and have remained in that state ever since. These two states have different time-patterns of El Nino events.  相似文献

Global solar radiation patterns in Bangi (2°56′7.3″N, 105°47′0.2″E), Malaysia are discussed. The frequency of occurrence of the various solar radiation patterns observed over a 5-year period is derived. These observations will provide useful information for the design of solar energy systems and equipment for installation in tropical countries having a similar global solar radiation pattern.  相似文献

The measured data of global solar radiation on a horizontal surface, as well as the number of sunshine hours, mean daily ambient temperature, maximum and minimum ambient temperatures, relative humidity and amount of cloud cover, for Jeddah (latitude 21° 42′37″N, longitude 39° 11′12″E), Saudi Arabia for the period 1996–2006 are analyzed. The data are divided into two sets. The sub-data set 1 (1996–2004) are employed to develop empirical correlations between the monthly average of daily global solar radiation fraction (H/H0) and various meteorological parameters. The nonlinear Angström type model developed by Sen and the trigonometric function model proposed by Bulut and Büyükalaca are also evaluated. New empirical constants for these two models have been obtained for Jeddah. The sub-data set 2 (2005, 2006) are then used to evaluate the derived correlations. Comparisons between measured and calculated values of H have been performed. It is indicated that, the Sen and Bulut and Büyükalaca models satisfactorily describe the horizontal global solar radiation for Jeddah. All the proposed correlations are found to be able to predict the annual average of daily global solar radiation with excellent accuracy. Therefore, the long term performance of solar energy devices can be estimated.  相似文献

In this study, daily global radiation for Toledo (39°53′05″N, 4°02′58″W, Spain) were utilized to determine monthly-specific equations for estimating global solar radiation from sunshine hours and to obtain improved fits to monthly Angström–Prescott's coefficients.Models were compared using the root mean square error (RMSE), the mean bias error (MBE) and the t-statistic. According to our results, all the models fitted the data adequately and can be used to estimate the specific monthly global solar radiation.Average RMSE and MBE for comparison between observed and estimated global radiation were 1.260 and −0.002 MJ m−2 day−1, respectively. The t-statistic was used as the best indicator, this indicator depends on both, and is more effective for determining the model performance. The agreement between the estimated and the measured data were remarkable and the method was recommended for use in Toledo (Spain).  相似文献

This paper presents basic data for a five year period from 1986 to 1990 for global and diffuse solar radiation data at Al-Arish (31°04′N, 33°49′E). These data have been processed, analysed, presented, arranged in tables and graphs and discussed. Mean annual monthly and daily total, the diurnal variation and the frequency of daily totals of global solar radiation are computed and discussed. A correlation between the hourly values of the clearness and diffuse index were obtained and the recommended correlation equations were also given. The isopleths of hourly global radiation were also designed and discussed. The frequency distribution and the frequency of extended periods of low radiation income have been studied which are of particular interest in the field performance of solar energy systems.  相似文献

Human skin temperatures were measured under exposure to near-infrared radiation through solar control glazings containing SiWOx films as solar control materials. It was found that the increase in skin temperature corresponds to the solar transmittance (Ts) value of the glazings. When the hand was exposed to radiation through a glazing containing solar films, the skin temperature after five minutes was less 0.9–1.8°C lower than when the corresponding glass without the films was used. The solar control glazings were effective in reducing the increase in skin temperature.  相似文献

In this work an application of a methodology to obtain solar radiation maps is presented. This methodology is based on a neural network system [Lippmann, R.P., 1987. An introduction to computing with neural nets. IEEE ASSP Magazine, 4–22] called Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) [Haykin, S., 1994. Neural Networks. A Comprehensive Foundation. Macmillan Publishing Company; Hornik, K., Stinchcombe, M., White, H., 1989. Multilayer feedforward networks are universal approximators. Neural Networks, 2(5), 359–366]. To obtain a solar radiation map it is necessary to know the solar radiation of many points spread wide across the zone of the map where it is going to be drawn. For most of the locations all over the world the records of these data (solar radiation in whatever scale, daily or hourly values) are non-existent. Only very few locations have the privilege of having good meteorological stations where records of solar radiation have being registered. But even in those locations with historical records of solar data, the quality of these solar series is not as good as it should be for most purposes. In addition, to draw solar radiation maps the number of points on the maps (real sites) that it is necessary to work with makes this problem difficult to solve. Nevertheless, with the application of the methodology proposed in this paper, this problem has been solved and solar radiation maps have been obtained for a small region of Spain: Jaén province, a southern province of Spain between parallels 38°25′ N and 37°25′ N, and meridians 4°10′ W and 2°10′ W, and for a larger region: Andalucía, the most southern region of Spain situated between parallels 38°40′ N and 36°00′ N, and meridians 7°30′ W and 1°40′ W.  相似文献

This paper uses the Weibull's distribution function to describe the wind speed frequency distribution at Palkalainagar (geographical co-ordinates N : 9°54′, E : 78°54′), Madurai, India using the one year data available. Weibull's parameters are used to estimate the wind data parameters for the site. Of the wind data parameters the most important one is the annual specific output (TA). This is used in determining the annual energy output of a Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) and in conducting cost-benefit analysis of wind-electricity generation. The parameter is used in evaluating the efficiency of WECS in the same site. Results show the possibilities of harnessing wind energy towards electricity generation.  相似文献

A new approach is presented in order to improve the thermal stability of polymer: [6-6]-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) bulk heterojunction solar cells. The central idea in this approach is the use of a polymer with high glass transition temperature (Tg), well above the normal operating temperatures of the devices. In this paper, a PPV-derivative with a Tg of 150 °C was used as an electron donor and the thermal stability of the obtained solar cells was compared with solar cells based on the reference material poly[2-methoxy-5-(3′,7′-dimethyloctyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene] (MDMO-PPV) with a Tg of 45 °C. The use of the material with higher glass transition temperature resulted in a significant improvement of the thermal stability of the photovoltaic parameters. Furthermore, a systematic transmission electron microscope (TEM) study demonstrates that the better thermal stability of performance coincides with a more stable active layer morphology. Both improvements are attributed to the reduced free movement of the electron donor material (PCBM) within the active layer of the solar cell.  相似文献

A number of years of data on the global irradiation incident on a horizontal surface in Beer Sheva, Israel (lat. = 31°15′N, long. = 34°48′E, elevation 240 m) have been correlated. It is apparent from these data that this locale possesses a relatively high abundance of sunshine. The average cumulative annual irradiation is 6722MJ/m2 and the average daily irradiation is 18.43 MJ/m2. The percentage frequency of days possessing irradiation rates greater than 20 MJ/m2 is 46 per cent, whereas that possessing less than 10 MJ/m2d is 11.9 per cent. The percentage frequency of cloudy days (KT < 0.34) is low, 7.5 per cent, whereas that for clear days (KT > 0.65) is 29.2 per cent.  相似文献

A novel black coloured coating with the composition CuCoMnOx was prepared using sol–gel synthesis. The coatings were deposited using the dip-coating technique from alcoholic sols based on Mn-acetate and Co- and Cu-chloride precursors. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that xerogels become crystalline at 316°C while X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the coatings and powders correspond predominantly to CuCoMnOx spinels. Rutherford back scattering (RBS) and transmission electron microscopic (TEM) studies combined with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) measurements confirmed that Cu, Mn and Co are present in the films in stoichiometric ratios close to that in the initial sols. IR spectroscopy has been employed to study the formation of sols by following the changes in the vibrational bands of the acetate groups during both thermal hydrolysis and the ageing of sols to xerogels. It was found that ageing of xerogels was accompanied by the formation of −COO bridging units, which at 250°C are no longer visible in the IR spectra but substituted by the vibrational modes characteristic for CuCoMnOx. The solar absorptance (as) and thermal emittance (eT) of the coatings when deposited on an Al-substrate are as=0.9 and eT=0.05, which rank deposited black sol–gel CuCoMnOx spinels among the promising candidates for spectrally selective absorber coatings for solar collectors and solar facades.  相似文献

We develop amorphous silicon (a-Si:H)-based solar cells by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) at deposition temperatures of Ts=75°C and 100°C, compatible with low-cost plastic substrates. The structural and electronic properties of low-temperature standard PECVD a-Si:H, both doped and undoped, prevent the photovoltaic application of this material. In this paper, we demonstrate how to achieve device-quality a-Si:H even at low deposition temperatures. In the first part, we show the dependence of structural and carrier transport properties on the deposition temperature. The sub-band gap absorption coefficient and the Urbach energy increase when the deposition temperature declines from Ts=150°C to 50°C, the conductivity of doped layers and mobility-lifetime product of intrinsic a-Si:H drop drastically. Therefore, in the second part we investigate the impact of increasing hydrogen dilution of the feedstock gases on the properties of low-temperature a-Si:H. We restore n-type a-Si : H device-quality conductivity while the p-type a-Si:H conductivity is still inferior. For undoped layers, we depict the hole diffusion length, the mobility-lifetime product for electrons, the Urbach energy, and sub-band gap absorption coefficient as a function of the hydrogen dilution ratio. We incorporate these optimized materials in solar cell structures of single and multilayer design and record initial efficiencies of η=6.0% at a deposition temperature of Ts=100°C, and η=3.8% at Ts=75°C. For prospective opaque polymer substrates we develop, in addition to our conventional pin cells, devices in nip design with similar performance.  相似文献

By surrounding the absorber-heat exchanger component of a solar collector with a glass-enclosed evacuated space and by providing the absorber with a selective surface, solar collectors can operate at efficiencies exceeding 50 per cent under conditions of ΔT/HT = 75°C m2/kW (ΔT = collector fluid inlet temperature minus ambient temperature, HT = incident solar radiation on a tilted surface). The high performance of these evacuated tubular collectors thus provides the required high temperature inputs (70–88°C) of lithium bromide absorption cooling units, while maintaining high collector efficiency. This paper deals with the performance and analysis of two types of evacuated tubular solar collectors intergrated with the two distinct solar heating and cooling systems installed on CSU Solar Houses I and III.  相似文献

A new method is proposed to evaluate the coefficients a and b of the Ångström formula . Then, a has the physical meaning of the fraction of diffuse radiation, D, to extraterrestrial radiation, H0, and b has the meaning of the fraction of direct radiation, I(1), to H0. This is possible at sites where measurements with a shadow band pyranometer are available, in addition to measurements of global radiation, H, and sunshine duration, s. The Ångström formula then gives substantial information about the radiation climate of a site. It is feasible to calculate global radiation, H, on tilted surfaces and planes following the sun's disk, which is essential to evaluate the efficiency of solar energy conversion systems at locations where only measurements of the sunshine duration, s, are available. Thus, it is strongly recommended to replace the regression coefficients a′ and b′ presented in the European Solar Radiation Atlas, which were estimated by least squares approximation. For the site of Hamburg, Germany, it is shown that a ten years interval of data records may be too short to give reliable values of climatological means of D, I(1), H, and s. An increase of direct radiation at Hamburg during the last decade can be detected by the proposed method and may be explained by a decreasing amount of optically active constituents in the air, probable a result of the clean air policy in Germany.  相似文献

For seven locations in north and central India, monthly averaged data of daily beam irradiation on a horizontal surface, I, have been correlated with bright sunshine duration, s, using the relation (I/I0) = b0(s/S′) where I0 is the monthly mean value of extraterrestrial irradiation over a day, S′ is the corresponding duration over which Campbell-Stokes type sunshine recorders remain sensitive. It is found that b0 is a constant that is period and region dependent. Monthly estimates of beam radiation using the relation above show that for the seven stations rms errors are within 3–6%. Tests made for other stations in India also gave good estimates. For the computation of I, global radiation is not required unlike most estimation techniques and therefore the method should find a wide application.It may be observed that b0 values turn out to be roughly equal to exp(-md T ) where m is the relative airmass, d is the Raleigh optical thickness and T is the Linke turbidity factor.  相似文献
