This paper focuses on the need of the large equipment manufacturing industry to adapt collaborative operation to transform the industry to cloud manufacturing services and to solve the new problem of federal resources coordination in complete service operation. We systematically study federal resources cooperation under cloud manufacturing mode to complete a large complex project. The primary research contents are divided into four points. First, a system structure of cloud manufacturing service mode is presented. Second, a synergy logic framework from the global system perspective is designed based on generalised partial global planning. Third, a multi-level system coordination mechanism is established by integrating various methods, including the bidding game mechanism for enterprise external resources, the planning control mechanisms for enterprise internal resource and the global collaborative optimisation mechanism for enterprise global federal resources. Finally, a cloud manufacturing service platform for a typical enterprise is developed by combining theory with practice. The results can realise collaborative management in resource selection and configuration, service process planning control and service information feedback in cloud manufacturing service, as well as achieve overall synergy effect for the system.  相似文献

To date, research has mainly discussed the definition and classification of producer services. Yet many companies require an integrated solution of products and producer services. The aim of this paper is to propose a model of the ecological evolution of manufacturing service systems (MSS) driven by service providers. This model adopts modular thinking to integrate dispersive producer services into an entire MSS, the process of which forms the ecological evolution of MSS. This paper applies ecological theory to build the ecological evolution mechanism of MSS. In this mechanism, the predator–prey relationship is used as a metaphor for the relationships between manufacturers and service providers in a MSS. A predator–prey model is built to simulate the ecological evolution of MSS. A predation cellular genetic algorithm is adopted to optimise this evolution. The proposed model and algorithm are demonstrated and validated by a case study of MSS in bicycle industry. This study contributes to theory by proposing and clarifying the mechanism for provision of services between businesses. The future research will focus on the application and empirical analysis of this mechanism derived from big data.  相似文献

Software systems have a growing importance in how services are delivered in the present-day. New methods and technologies are constantly introduced for realizing novel services in a wide range of industries. In this study, stakeholder involvement in the development of financial service software system is examined, as software has been integral to the delivery of financial services. Two projects are selected for their varying degrees of product and service content. Both teams used an adapted stakeholder identification framework developed for the healthcare industry to identify stakeholders and their involvement need in the development projects. The suitability of this framework for financial service software development, and the differences in stakeholders for the development of new software systems of dissimilar product-service mix are discussed in the paper. Four insights into the influence of product-service ratio in stakeholder involvement are gained in the perspectives of product quality, relationship management, product support by customer, and service delivery process.  相似文献

This paper outlines the results of a project aiming to develop and apply methods for service co-creation with customers, focusing on the early phases of service development. The project is collaboration between a manufacturing firm in the automotive industry, one of their B2B-customers (a transportation firm), as well as a university, all in Sweden. The research team selected and developed methods and work practices for problem analysis, idea generation, development and evaluation of services. Thus doing, methodological influence was taken from the area of engineering design. The proposed approaches were applied in a service development experiment mainly based on workshops. The experiment was followed up by an analysis of the resulting output, an interview series, and an evaluation by peers in focus groups. The goal of this article is to answer the following research questions: (1) What is the industrial applicability of co-creating services using a structured approach, e.g. what are the benefits and challenges? (2) What do the different actors contribute with using this approach, and what possible factors influence the nature and quality of the actors’ contributions? (3) Based on the answers to the questions above, what aspects should be considered to support situated planning and execution of future service co-creation projects? A central conclusion is that a structured approach is industrially applicable, but it is also evident that there is no completely universal recipe for service innovation. Addressing these insights, the paper also contributes with guidelines to support the situation-adapted set-up of future service co-creation projects.  相似文献

The high level of complexity and cost involved in the development, testing, and implementation of software for traditional, hierarchical shop-floor control of automated manufacturing systems has motivated considerable research in recent years on the distributed shop-floor control paradigm. In this paper, we describe a methodology for modeling and simulation of an auction-based shop-floor control scheme in a parallel and distributed computing environment using the Parallel Virtual Machine software library. Compared to traditional discrete-event simulation, this approach provides a more accurate means for modeling and evaluation of the shop-floor behavior under distributed control, and enables rapid prototyping of the actual control software. We discuss the challenges and highlight research opportunities associated with modeling and simulation of distributed shop-floor control systems using parallel and distributed computing.  相似文献

Owing to the rapid proliferation of Web service technologies in cross-enterprise manufacturing collaborations, information overload is becoming a major barrier that hinders the effective discovery of the shared manufacturing services provided by collaborative partners for supply chain deployment. Thus, we aimed to identify a different approach for discovering manufacturing services by making personalised service recommendations that are suited to the specific needs of active service users based on usage data from previous retrievals made by past service users. The proposed approach combines social network and collaborative filtering techniques in a unified framework to predict the missing Quality of Service (QoS) values of manufacturing services for an active service user, thereby improving the effectiveness of personalised QoS-aware service recommendations. The social network explores the usage of preference and tagging relationships among service users and manufacturing services in making personalised recommendation, which alleviates the data sparsity and the cold start problems that hinder the traditional collaborative filtering techniques. A case study and experimental evaluation demonstrate that the proposed approach can achieve the practicality and accuracy to personalised manufacturing service recommendations in a real application.  相似文献

Transferring and applying manufacturing principles and practices to improve both service efficiency and service quality is an important area of research in service operations. This paper advances this stream of research by examining the compatibility of operating efficiency and service quality. Specifically, our research addresses the following questions: (1) Do operating efficiency and service quality have to be traded off, or can they exist in unison (are they compatible)? and (2) What aspects of service quality have a stronger association with operating efficiency? In disentangling these important issues, we utilise a combination of data envelopment analysis (DEA) and survey-based empirical research methods. Additionally, our focus lies on a novel type of service industry where such research has been sparse. We evaluate the relative operating efficiencies of service driving agencies based on actual transaction data and subsequently analyse differences in service quality dimensions based on efficiencies. Overall, our analyses suggest important strategic decision-making implications for service operations managers and provide novel insights for academic research.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a general state-dependent finite-buffer bulk queue in which the rates and batch sizes of arrivals and services are allowed to depend on the number of customers in queue and service batch sizes. Such queueing systems have rich applications in manufacturing, service operations, computer and telecommunication systems. Interesting examples include batch oven processes in the aircraft and semiconductor industry; serving of passengers by elevators, shuttle buses, and ferries; and congestion control mechanisms to regulate transmission rates in packet-switched communication networks. We develop a unifying method to study the performance of this general class of finite-buffer state-dependent bulk queueing systems. For this purpose, we use semi-regenerative analysis to develop a numerically stable method for calculating the limiting probability distribution of the queue length process. Based on the limiting probabilities, we present various performance measures for evaluating admission control and batch service policies, such as the loss probability for an arriving group of customers and for individual customers within a group. For manufacturers, developing product–service systems (PSSs) is getting more important because of the trends of servitisation and creating social value. A PSS is a social system where multiple actors mutually provide products and services. A PSS design, therefore, must take into account various actors as customers. However, existing methods provide an insufficient solution as to how various customers should be handled in an analysis to identify and accommodate various customer preferences and requirements. To tackle this issue, this article proposes a new method of identifying customers’ orientations and requirements for PSS design. The proposed method employs a combination of topic analysis, persona and scenario approaches. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated with its application to an urban development case. Through the demonstration, its practical benefits are concluded as follows: consistent and logical results of requirement analysis and insights into a new market for manufacturers.  相似文献

In the era of globalization, one of the key factors for manufacturing machine builders/suppliers to remain competitive is their capability to provide cost-effective and comprehensive machine service and maintenance for their clients at anytime, anywhere. Previous research has highlighted the role of virtual engineering tools in the design and development life cycle of manufacturing machinery systems. Virtual engineering models created during the development phase can potentially be used to provide valuable functions for many other tasks during the operational phase, including service and maintenance support. This paper introduces an innovative Internet-enabled three-dimensional-based virtual engineering framework that can be used for such purposes. Specifically, it addresses a system architecture that is designed to facilitate the tight integration between virtual engineering tools and a set of Internet-based reconfigurable modular maintenance supporting tools. This system architecture has been verified by implementations using different toolsets atop of various Internet technologies (e.g. XML Web services and LabView's Datasocket). Implementation details and successful industrial-based test cases are also provided in this paper.  相似文献

Production-inventory control system models have been analysed in the literature either in terms of their stability against demand fluctuations or in terms of their service level and cost performance under uncertain demand. This article analyses the production-inventory system performance in terms of service level (i.e. order fill rate) and average system costs, under stable settings of the control parameters. The classical automatic pipeline variable inventory and order-based production control system has been modified by explicitly modelling safety stock to help achieve higher services levels in the face of random demand. The stability of the system is affected by the control parameters: fractional rates of adjustment of work-in-process and inventory. However, the service level and average cost are affected by the control parameters as well as the smoothing factor in demand forecasting. This article puts forward five propositions which give light to general system performance based on the parameters selection. Intensive simulation experiments have also been carried out to reveal the performance variations within the stable region, leading to further insights on the system behaviour. The managerial insights which can assist proper tuning of systems to help achieve the desired performances have been discussed.  相似文献

Recent trends in the commercial aviation industry have resulted in rapidly increasing complexity and decentralisation in service parts logistics systems. As a consequence, MRO service providers tend to adopt more flexible strategies, such as service parts sourcing and demand fulfilment for customers with different service-level requirements. The MRO service providers often enter into cooperative agreements with other service providers to pool inventories, enabling them to increase their flexibility in delivering services to multiple airlines with different contractual terms. Although using cooperative strategies, such as emergency resupply, is useful to increase flexibility, the inherent complexity of optimal mechanism is a critical issue that needs to be further investigated. To this aim, we consider a repairable service parts inventory system with multi-customer classes and develop an optimal emergency resupply policy. Following this, to overcome the intractability issue of finding the optimal policy, an efficient approximation method is proposed. Numerical results indicate that the proposed approximation method is highly accurate, and leads to a significant costs reduction. This paper sheds light on the effectiveness of emergency resupply policy that improves MRO service providers’ flexibility and enables them to ensure responsive service parts inventory.  相似文献

In recent years, economic globalisation and manufacturing resource globalisation as two key factors have driven enterprises to transform their business processes to survive in competitive environments. This transformation is challenging as manufacturing enterprises should maintain their support for their customers with high-quality products, lower cost, product customisation capabilities, and quick delivery. Moreover, globalisation has resulted in geographically distributed suppliers across the globe. This challenge will turn into a major research topic when paradigms like Cloud manufacturing are introduced. Cloud manufacturing is a new paradigm which provides ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable manufacturing resources. In this paper, to achieve the ideal goal of Cloud manufacturing, the concept of supplier network logistics planning and manufacturing service composition is focused. Every production task and logistics operation would be defined as a service considering operation process chart flows. The paper has proposed a mathematical model which selects an optimal set of manufacturing and logistics service composition in order to lower operation and logistics costs in operational perspective while fulfilling a novel idea for configured cloud entropy of logistics and operation suppliers. Cloud production is an emerging paradigm that supports co-designing and co-producing integrated solutions with customers. The realisation of this paradigm requires integrated platforms that enable parties collaborating within a production ecosystem to inter-operate networked business processes. Previous research has proposed different architectures for cloud production platforms from different perspectives like virtualiseng and servitiseng manufacturing resources, distributed and networked sensing supported by IoT technologies, and service-oriented and process-centred computing to compose and enact networked production services. However, an integrated architecture that brings together insights from service-oriented cloud manufacturing, IoT-enabled intelligence, and networked process-centred service composition and enactment has not been sufficiently addressed in previous research. In order to incorporate insights from the mentioned different perspectives, in this paper architectural analysis, synthesis, and evaluation steps are conducted to propose a conceptual architecture for IoT-enabled intelligent process-aware cloud production platforms. This architecture describes design-time and run-time components of a cloud production platform that can sense and intelligently respond to events within a value network. To evaluate the applicability of the proposed architecture within real-life scenarios, a case study is conducted in a cloud clinical laboratory in Tehran, Iran. Within this case study, a concrete cloud clinical laboratory platform has been instantiated.  相似文献

As the service is becoming the strategic preference in the manufacturing industry, more and more manufacturing companies provide customers with total solutions by integrating services into their core product offerings, which is usually implemented in so-called hybrid supply chain (HSC). The HSC is formed as a chain by a group of manufacturers and service providers who work together to offer total solutions to customers. In HSC, customers’ responses to variable service levels and the interaction between inventory strategy and service capacity strategy have a great impact on supply chain instability, which represents an important concern in supply chain research. To tackle this problem, we establish a system dynamics model, by taking the HSC for an elevator company in China as an example. Firstly, we analyzed the oscillation characteristics of service flow and product flow. Then, we proposed the performance metrics of bullwhip effect in HSC. Finally, based on the model, we find that the bullwhip effect of HSC could be smoothened by incorporating service capacity adjustment strategy into the inventory replenishment policy.  相似文献

Grid computing system is different from conventional distributed computing systems by its focus on large-scale resource sharing and open architecture for services. The global grid technologies and the Globus Toolkit in particular, are evolving toward an open grid service architecture (OGSA) with which a grid system provides an extensible infrastructure so that various organizations can offer their own services and integrate their resources. Hence, this paper aims at solving the problem of optimally allocating services on the grid to maximize the grid service reliability. Since no existing study has analyzed the grid service reliability, this paper develops initial modeling and evaluation algorithms to evaluate the grid service reliability. Based on the grid service reliability evaluation, we present an optimization model for the grid service allocation problem and develop a genetic algorithm (GA) to effectively solve it. A numerical example is given to show the modeling procedures and efficiency of the GAs.  相似文献
