《科技兴贸》“十一五”规划指出:到2010年,力争出口创新基地总数达到100家,高新技术产品出口占外贸出口比重由30％提高到35％。重点培育160个高科技自主出口品牌,使具有自主知识产权和自主品牌的高新技术产品占高新技术产品出口的比重提高到15％。重点扶持出口免检企业和实施绿色通道企业2500家。

The strength of carbon fibres

The available information on the structure and properties of high strength carbon fibres is reviewed, and some new data are presented, showing the effects of boron doping and neutron irradiation on the properties of PAN-based carbon fibres.Theories relating the Young's modulus of the fibre to its microstructure are examined, and it is concluded that their relationship is qualitatively understood. Variations in electrical resistivity with different treatments may also be explained satisfactorily, again, in qualitative terms.The strength of carbon fibres is less well understood, however. It has been suggested that the fibre strength is governed by the presence or absence of stress-raising flaws, but while it is clear that such flaws can markedly reduce the strength, there is no clear estimate of the strength of an unflawed fibre.In this paper, we examine an alternative failure mechanism, initiated by shearing of the graphite crystallites in the fibre, and we conclude that such a mechanism may control the strength of the more graphitic fibres. Increases in the strength of carbon fibres may thus be achieved, not only by reducing the number and severity of the flaws, but also by applying the principles of solid-solution or dispersion hardening, and by reducing the graphite crystallite size (grain refining).     

The electric strength of copolymers

Careful measurements of the electric strength of styrene—butadiene copolymers together with their parent homopolymers over a wide range of temperature are presented. The marked reduction of strength characteristic of a non-polar amorphous material occurs at a temperature indistinguishable from the glass transition temperature determined by differential thermal analysis. This temperature may be predicted from the constitution of the copolymer. The underlying mechanism is discussed in terms of molecular structure and movement.     

The impact strength of polycarbonate

Measurements of the Charpy notched impact strength of polydiancarbonate indicate that the polymer can exist in one of two modifications A and B. There is a temperature (below room temperature) above which the A form is unusually tough; the B modification is comparatively brittle at all temperatures. The A form can be converted to the B form by an annealing process which proceeds rapidly above 80°C. We have not been able to determine the precise morphological difference between the A and B forms but most of the data can be explained by making a hypothesis about the yield behaviour of the A form.
