This paper introduces an optimisation based control framework for autonomous helicopters. The framework contains a high-level model predictive control (MPC) and a low-level linear controller. The proposed MPC works in a piecewise constant fashion to reduce the computation burden and to increase the time available for performing online optimisation. The linear feedback controller responds to fast dynamics of the helicopter and compensates the low bandwidth of the high-level controller. This configuration allows the computationally intensive algorithm applied on systems with fast dynamics. The stability issues of the high-level MPC and the overall control scheme are discussed. Simulations and flight tests on a small-scale helicopter are carried out to verify the proposed control scheme.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of sampled‐data model predictive control (MPC) is investigated for linear networked control systems with both input delay and input saturation. The delay‐induced nonlinearity is overapproximatively modeled as a polytopic inclusion. The nonlinear behavior of input saturation is expressed as a convex polytope. The resulting closed‐loop systems are represented as linear systems with polytopic and additive norm‐bounded uncertainties. The aim is to determine a robust MPC controller that asymptotically stabilizes the uncertain system at the origin with a certain level of quadratic performance. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by a numerical example.  相似文献

In this paper, a two‐stage control procedure is proposed for stabilization of a class of strict‐feedback systems with unknown constant time delays and nonlinear uncertainties in the input. A nominal controller is first designed to compensate input time delays without considering input nonlinear uncertainties. Extended from backstepping algorithm, input delay compensation is realized by means of predicted states that are computed through integration of cascaded system dynamics, making the nominal closed‐loop system asymptotically stable. Based on the nominal controller presented for the input delay system, a multi‐timescale system is subsequently developed to estimate the unknown input nonlinearity and make the estimate approach the nominal control input as fast as possible. It is proved that the proposed control scheme can make states of the strict‐feedback systems converge to zero and all the signals of the closed‐loop systems are guaranteed to be bounded in the presence of input time delays and nonlinear uncertainties. Simulation verification is carried out to illuminate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.  相似文献

This paper investigates the problem of model predictive control for a class of networked control systems. Both sensor‐to‐controller and controller‐to‐actuator delays are considered and described by Markovian chains. The resulting closed‐loop systems are written as jump linear systems with two modes. The control scheme is characterized as a constrained delay‐dependent optimization problem of the worst‐case quadratic cost over an infinite horizon at each sampling instant. A linear matrix inequality approach for the controller synthesis is developed. It is shown that the proposed state feedback model predictive controller guarantees the stochastic stability of the closed‐loop system. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A neural network (NN)‐based robust adaptive control design scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear systems represented by input–output models with an unknown nonlinear function and unknown time delay. By approximating on‐line the unknown nonlinear functions with a three‐layer feedforward NN, the proposed approach does not require the unknown parameters to satisfy the linear dependence condition. The control law is delay independent and possible controller singularity problem is avoided. It is proved that with the proposed neural control law, all the signals in the closed‐loop system are semiglobally bounded in the presence of unknown time delay and unknown nonlinearity. A simulation example is presented to demonstrate the method. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper studies the robustness problem of the min–max model predictive control (MPC) scheme for constrained nonlinear time‐varying delay systems subject to bounded disturbances. The notion of the input‐to‐state stability (ISS) of nonlinear time‐delay systems is introduced. Then by using the Lyapunov–Krasovskii method, a delay‐dependent sufficient condition is derived to guarantee input‐to‐state practical stability (ISpS) of the closed‐loop system by way of nonlinear matrix inequalities (NLMI). In order to lessen the online computational demand, the non‐convex min‐max optimization problem is then converted to a minimization problem with linear matrix inequality (LMI) constraints and a suboptimal MPC algorithm is provided. Finally, an example of a truck‐trailer is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results. This paper presents a control approach to the air feed of a fuel cell based on a single input single output sliding mode control. Fuel cells are electrochemical devices that generate electrical energy from chemical reactants and are good candidates for clean energy generation, since the waste product is water. An efficient operation of fuel cells depends on a good control strategy for the air supply system. The controller obtains its nonlinear behaviour through a variable structure strategy, whose tuning is proposed by making use of a low-order linear model of the process. This structure allows the real-time implementation of a robust control law that is able to deal with the nonlinearities and uncertainties without the need of heavy computation load for the controller algorithm, while allowing a fast sampling rate according to the needs of these power systems. The performance of the control scheme proposed is successfully evaluated on a medium-size PEM cell fuel.  相似文献

The paper presents a fast nonlinear model predictive control (MPC) scheme for a magnetic levitation system. A nonlinear dynamical model of the levitation system is derived that additionally captures the inductor current dynamics of the electromagnet in order to achieve a high MPC performance both for stabilization and fast setpoint changes of the levitating mass. The optimization algorithm underlying the MPC scheme accounts for control constraints and allows for a time and memory efficient computation of the single iteration. The overall control performance of the levitation system as well as the low computational costs of the MPC scheme is shown both in simulations and experiments with a sampling frequency of 700 Hz on a standard dSPACE hardware.  相似文献

We focus on the development of a Lyapunov-based economic model predictive control (LEMPC) method for nonlinear singularly perturbed systems in standard form arising naturally in the modeling of two-time-scale chemical processes. A composite control structure is proposed in which, a “fast” Lyapunov-based model predictive controller (LMPC) using a quadratic cost function which penalizes the deviation of the fast states from their equilibrium slow manifold and the corresponding manipulated inputs, is used to stabilize the fast dynamics while a two-mode “slow” LEMPC design is used on the slow subsystem that addresses economic considerations as well as desired closed-loop stability properties by utilizing an economic (typically non-quadratic) cost function in its formulation and possibly dictating a time-varying process operation. Through a multirate measurement sampling scheme, fast sampling of the fast state variables is used in the fast LMPC while slow-sampling of the slow state variables is used in the slow LEMPC. Appropriate stabilizability assumptions are made and suitable constraints are imposed on the proposed control scheme to guarantee the closed-loop stability and singular perturbation theory is used to analyze the closed-loop system. The proposed control method is demonstrated through a nonlinear chemical process example.  相似文献

In this paper, a synthesis of model predictive control (MPC) algorithm is presented for uncertain systems subject to structured time‐varying uncertainties and actuator saturation. The system matrices are not exactly known, but are affine functions of a time varying parameter vector. To deal with the nonlinear actuator saturation, a saturated linear feedback control law is expressed into a convex hull of a group of auxiliary linear feedback laws. At each time instant, a state feedback law is designed to ensure the robust stability of the closed‐loop system. The robust MPC controller design problem is formulated into solving a minimization problem of a worst‐case performance index with respect to model uncertainties. The design of controller is then cast into solving a feasibility of linear matrix inequality (LMI) optimization problem. Then, the result is further extended to saturation dependent robust MPC approach by introducing additional variables. A saturation dependent quadratic function is used to reduce the conservatism of controller design. To show the effectiveness, the proposed robust MPC algorithms are applied to a continuous‐time stirred tank reactor (CSTR) process.  相似文献

This paper describes a delay‐range‐dependent local state feedback controller synthesis approach providing estimation of the region of stability for nonlinear time‐delay systems under input saturation. By employing a Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, properties of nonlinear functions, local sector condition and Jensen's inequality, a sufficient condition is derived for stabilization of nonlinear systems with interval delays varying within a range. Novel solutions to the delay‐range‐dependent and delay‐dependent stabilization problems for linear and nonlinear time‐delay systems, respectively, subject to input saturation are derived as specific scenarios of the proposed control strategy. Also, a delay‐rate‐independent condition for control of nonlinear systems in the presence of input saturation with unknown delay‐derivative bound information is established. And further, a robust state feedback controller synthesis scheme ensuring L2 gain reduction from disturbance to output is devised to address the problem of the stabilization of input‐constrained nonlinear time‐delay systems with varying interval lags. The proposed design conditions can be solved using linear matrix inequality tools in connection with conventional cone complementary linearization algorithms. Simulation results for an unstable nonlinear time‐delay network and a large‐scale chemical reactor under input saturation and varying interval time‐delays are analyzed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. High-speed applications impose a hard real-time constraint on the solution of a model predictive control (MPC) problem, which generally prevents the computation of the optimal control input. As a result, in most MPC implementations guarantees on feasibility and stability are sacrificed in order to achieve a real-time setting. In this paper we develop a real-time MPC approach for linear systems that provides these guarantees for arbitrary time constraints, allowing one to trade off computation time vs. performance. Stability is guaranteed by means of a constraint, enforcing that the resulting suboptimal MPC cost is a Lyapunov function. The key is then to guarantee feasibility in real-time, which is achieved by the proposed algorithm through a warm-starting technique in combination with robust MPC design. We address both regulation and tracking of piecewise constant references. As a main contribution of this paper, a new warm-start procedure together with a Lyapunov function for real-time tracking is presented. In addition to providing strong theoretical guarantees, the proposed method can be implemented at high sampling rates. Simulation examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the real-time scheme and show that computation times in the millisecond range can be achieved.  相似文献

In this article we present a parametric branch and bound algorithm for computation of optimal and suboptimal solutions to parametric mixed-integer quadratic programs and parametric mixed-integer linear programs. The algorithm returns an optimal or suboptimal parametric solution with the level of suboptimality requested by the user. An interesting application of the proposed parametric branch and bound procedure is suboptimal explicit MPC for hybrid systems, where the introduced user-defined suboptimality tolerance reduces the storage requirements and the online computational effort, or even enables the computation of a suboptimal MPC controller in cases where the computation of the optimal MPC controller would be intractable. Moreover, stability of the system in closed loop with the suboptimal controller can be guaranteed a priori.  相似文献

Computation time delay in digital control systems reduces its robustness as well as degrades its performance. In this paper, the computation time delay is assumed to be constant and smaller than the sampling time and is treated as a fault to be detected, using an appropriate controller to minimize its effects. Thus, a discrete-time sliding mode control that improves the systems’ performance when a computation time delay fault is found is proposed herein. A robust sliding mode observer-based is used to generate the residuals. Using the accumulated residual functions, a new scheme for fault detection and for controller adaptation is proposed. The technique is used to control a Rotary Motion Inverted Pendulum System to illustrate the design procedures and the effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

This paper investigates the stabilization problem of the nonlinear networked control systems (NCSs) with drops and variable delays. The NCS is modeled as a sampled‐data system. For such a sampled‐data NCS, the stability properties are studied for delay that can be both shorter and longer than one sampling period, respectively. The exponential stability conditions are derived in terms of the parameters of the plant and time delay. On the other hand, a model‐based control scheme based on an approximate discrete‐time model of the plant is presented to guarantee the stability of the closed‐loop system subject to variable time delays and packet losses. The performance of the proposed control schemes are examined through numerical simulations of an automated rendezvous and docking of spacecraft system. Moreover, the simulations show that by employing the model‐based controller, a higher closed‐loop control performance can be achieved. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Constructive control techniques have been proposed for controlling strict feedback (lower triangular form) stochastic nonlinear systems with a time‐varying time delay in the state. The uncertain nonlinearities are assumed to be bounded by polynomial functions of the outputs multiplied by unmeasured states or delayed states. The delay‐independent output feedback controller making the closed‐loop system globally asymptotically stable is explicitly constructed by using a linear dynamic high‐gain observer in combination with a linear dynamic high‐gain controller. A simulation example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design procedure. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper investigates the global finite‐time stabilization for a class of high‐order switched nonlinear systems via the sampled‐data output feedback control. Firstly, we design a continuous‐time output feedback controller for the nominal part via adding a power integrator technique. Based on the homogeneous theory, together with the Gronwall‐Bellman inequality, a sampled‐data output feedback controller is designed with suitable sampling periods to ensure that the closed‐loop system can be globally stabilized in finite time. In the meantime, the proposed control method can be extended to the switched nonlinear systems with an upper‐triangular growth condition. Finally, two examples are presented to illustrate the validity of the proposed control scheme.  相似文献

An important class of nonlinear control systems can be represented as the feedback interconnection of two parts: a linear time-invariant system and a block of decentralized nonlinearities. When the linear time-invariant part has a nontrivial feedthrough term or the nonlinearity has a feedback gain, control computation involves the online implementation of a multivariable algebraic loop which must be resolved at each sampling instant. The requirements for such online computation may result in several implementation issues, especially in real-time and embedded control applications. This paper considers the implementation of such algebraic loops arising from several input-constrained systems. The proposed solution algorithm is globally convergent for a very large class of feedthrough or feedback gains and shows promise for real-time and embedded control applications where a fast but approximate solution is of the essence.  相似文献
