The microstructure of graphite spherulites (G.S.) in nodular cast irons doped with either Ce or (Mg + Ce) has been extensively studied using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), μ-diffraction and lattice images techniques. The results show that the section of a well-developed G.S. consists of fan-like areas formed from platelets with sizes ranging from several to tens nm radial and hundreds nm circumferential. The [001] direction of the graphite platelets within each fan-like area tends to parallel to the radius of the G.S. but spreads about ± 10° among them. 002 Lattice images of graphite reveal the arrangement of graphite based plane layers, such as branching, bending and stages with intercalary layers besides dislocations and faults. These structural characteristics of G.S. have shown that {001} planes of graphite did grow predominatly through the formation of stages by intercalary layers of ceriumoxide and ceriumoxysulfide, then the G.S. takes its final morphology.  相似文献

A conventional vapor transport system for epitaxial growth of GaP on GaAs was modified to permit cooling of the substrate. As a result of this modification crystals of more than 6 mm thickness have been grown. A number of etchants reveal etch grooves on (111) and (110) faces of halogen transported GaP. In such material both microtwin lamellae and stacking faults have been identified by electron microscopy. It was shown that the density of the etch grooves depends on the surface preparation and that it decreases exponentially with increasing distance from the substrate. Macroscopic defects containing excess dopant have been associated with deep pits visible on the growth face. It is suggested that the excess dopant is incorporated by a facet effect. Diodes having external quantum efficiencies as high as 1.5 pct were made by depositing zinc- and oxygen-doped layers by liquid epitaxy directly on tellurium-doped halogen grown GaP. However, the external quantum efficiencies decreased by a factor of 100 when material grown next to the GaAs substrate was used. It was shown that the decrease in the efficiency was not due to high stacking fault densities. Evidence is submitted that the arsenic content of the first to grow layers is deleterious to diode efficiencies.  相似文献

The isothermal section of the Ce-Mg-Mn phase diagram at 723 K (450 °C) was established experimentally by means of diffusion couples and key alloys. The phase relationships in the complete composition range were determined based on six solid–solid diffusion couples and twelve annealed key alloys. No ternary compounds were found in the Ce-Mg-Mn system at 723 K (450 °C). X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy spot analyses were used for phase identification. EDS line-scans, across the diffusion layers, were performed to determine the binary and ternary homogeneity ranges. Mn was observed in the diffusion couples and key alloys microstructures as either a solute element in the Ce-Mg compounds or as a pure element, because it has no tendency to form intermetallic compounds with either Ce or Mg. The fast at. interdiffusion of Ce and Mg produces several binary compounds (Ce x Mg y ) during the diffusion process. Thus, the diffusion layers formed in the ternary diffusion couples were similar to those in the Ce-Mg binary diffusion couples, except that the ternary diffusion couples contain layers of Ce-Mg compounds that dissolve certain amount of Mn. Also, the ternary diffusion couples showed layers containing islands of pure Mn distributed in most diffusion zones. As a result, the phase boundary lines were pointing toward Mn-rich corner, which supports the tendency of Mn to be in equilibrium with all the phases in the system.  相似文献

A theoretical model to predict the response of laminated cement-based composites is developed. The micromechanical model simulates the mechanical response of a multilayer cement-based composite laminate under uniaxial, biaxial, and flexural loading modes. Tsai-Wu Criterion is used for each lamina and the stacking sequence is utilized to obtain the overall stiffness matrix. The effect of distributed cracking on the stiffness degradation of the cross ply layers under tensile loading is measured using a scalar damage parameter that is empirically related to the apparent strain. The model is calibrated by predicting the load versus deformation response of unidirectional, cross ply, and angle ply laminates under tensile and flexural loading. Results are then compared to the experimental results cross ply and angle composites with various stacking sequences.  相似文献

To study the mechanism of formation and inhibition of Ce conversion films on A1 2024-T3 alloy, scanning microreference electrode technique (SMRE) is used to probe the potential map on A1 2024-T3 in CeC13 solution, the localized corrosion of A1 alloy decreases with immersion time and disappears finally, which results from the competition of Cl^- aggression and Ce^3 inhibition on alloy surface. The results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicate that the Ce conversion films consist of Al2O3, CeO2 and Ce2O3 (Ce(OH)3), and CeO2/Ce2O3 ratio decreases with the immersion time. When a critical pH for Ce(OH)3 formation was reached, Ce(OH)3 will precipitate on the micro cathodic area on alloy surface. Consequently, H2O2, the product of the catholic reaction will oxidize a part of Ce(OH)3 to CeO2, which appears a better corrosion resistance for Al alloys.  相似文献
