We identify the spectral gain filtering as a mechanism of multiple pulse formation in a fiber laser passively mode-locked through nonlinear polarization rotation operating in the normal dispersion regime. A correlation is theoretically established between the spectral gain bandwidth and the possibility for the laser to deliver several pulses by cavity round-trip: narrow spectrum favours multiple pulsing. Moreover the model allows to show that spectral loss or gain filtering are equivalent with respect to their consequences on the multiple pulsing regime. Experimental results obtained with an erbium-doped fiber laser and an ytterbium-doped fiber laser confirm the theoretical calculations. In addition, an indirect confirmation of the influence of the spectral filtering is proposed using an experimental setup involving a unique laser.  相似文献

为在光纤激光器中获得特定中心波长的锁模激光,进行了采用非线性光纤环形镜锁模的掺Yb3+光纤激光器的波长可调谐实验研究。获得了自启动锁模、中心波长在1030nm~1081nm范围内连续调谐的锁模脉冲输出;在中心波长1053nm时,测得光谱带宽6nm、脉冲宽度234.375ps、输出功率2.05mW、重复频率3.842MHz。这种被动锁模光纤激光器的锁模过程可以完全自启动,几乎不受外界环境变化的影响,可以长时间稳定工作,不仅可以提供特定中心波长的锁模激光,而且有望成为其它科学研究工作的中心波长可调谐的宽带锁模光纤激光种子源。  相似文献

用简单地调节泵功率的方法,实现了独立、连续地调整输出方波脉冲的振幅和宽度。采用了双泵结构,其中一个泵用来调节输出脉冲的宽度,另一个泵用来调整幅度;提出并实现了一种8字形双泵被动锁模光纤激光器。仿真结果表明,该被动锁模光纤激光器可以产生幅度可调的方波脉冲。这一结果将有助于纳秒方波脉冲机理的进一步研究。  相似文献

Ultrashort pulse fiber lasers are increasingly used in various areas for scientific as well as industrial purposes. In contrast to ultrashort pulse lasers based on ytterbium- and erbium-doped fibers, the dispersion of silica fibers in the amplification band of thulium-doped fibers around 2 μm is typically anomalous, which has fundamental impact on the pulse propagation. In this paper, mode-locked thulium-doped fiber lasers operating in different pulse propagation schemes are presented. The transfer of various concepts into the 2 μm wavelength range, which have been successfully applied for pulse parameter scaling in the 1 and 1.5 μm spectral region, are discussed on the basis of experimental and numerical results.  相似文献

Dissipative solitons in the passively mode-locked fiber lasers based on the gain medium of erbium-doped (Er-doped) fiber have attracted a lot of interest in recent years. In this paper, we study the influences of finite gain bandwidth on dissipative solitons in passively mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser. We investigate the influences of the finite gain bandwidth on pulse duration, pulse peak power and single pulse energy of dissipative solitons. The results show that gain bandwidth of the gain medium has influence on dissipative soliton characteristics in passively mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser. 自2009年石墨烯(Graphene)材料被成功用于产生超短脉冲以来,出现了多种腔形、多种波长、多种脉冲特性的锁模激光器。利用石墨烯可饱和吸收特性制成的锁模器件具有稳定性好、响应波长广、恢复时间短、插入损耗小等多方面的优势,是目前超短脉冲领域的研究热点。重点对石墨烯被动锁模光纤激光器的研究进展进行了总结,并针对该领域面临的问题,指出其发展趋势。  相似文献

We report on a novel approach toward generating high peak powers in passively mode-locked fiber lasers. By appropriate design the fiber's mode area is increased by a factor of ~30 compared to standard fiber. In this paper, the characteristics of soliton in a passively mode-locked Er-doped fiber laser modeled by a non-distributed model are numerically investigated with the split-step Fourier method. Based on the analysis and model, sech2-shaped soliton is obtained by controlling the group velocity dispersion (GVD) and small-signal gain of the gain fiber. The law that the dispersion influences the characteristics of soliton in the mode-locked fiber laser is researched in net-cavity averaged anomalous dispersion regime.  相似文献

为了研究锁模光纤激光器中矢量孤子的动力学特征,利用非线性偏振旋转锁模机制,实验获得了矢量孤子及矢量孤子簇。矢量孤子簇表现出来的动力学特点与抽运功率与偏振设置有关。抽运功率越高,由矢量孤子裂变所形成的矢量孤子簇对数越多。而且,孤子簇脉冲序列在时域上显示出强度周期调制现象。实验中观察到强度周期调制的4阶和7阶脉冲矢量孤子簇。结果表明,强度周期调制的矢量孤子簇输出是非线性偏振旋转锁模光纤激光器偏振调制的本征属性,孤子簇周期强度调制现象归因于腔内偏振相关隔离器对孤子簇的周期偏振调制的结果。  相似文献

报道了从一个典型的基于非线性偏振旋转被动锁模光纤激光器中产生双波长锁模脉冲的研究。双折射诱导的波长相关腔传输使得激光器能同时在2个或多个波长上振荡,本文设计的激光器中最多有3个波长同时产生。由于偏振相关隔离器(PDI)引入的另外偏振相关腔损,通过调节偏振控制器(PC),3个波长中的任意2个能同时共振,并同时锁模。此外,双波长脉冲中2个不同波长的脉冲会相互作用,并通过交叉相位调制形成各种各样的调制格式。  相似文献

提出并证明了一种宽光谱被动锁模掺铒光纤激光器,为光学频率梳和光纤飞秒脉冲的产生奠定了基础。该激光器基于非线性偏振旋转的锁模机理,同时在大的正常色散区合理地将C波段和L波段掺铒光纤结合,确保激光器具有C+L波段的增益谱覆盖。当泵浦功率为350mW时,脉冲稳定的以基频4.32MHz运转,3dB带宽为60nm,20dB覆盖了1522~1630nm,实现了增益带宽内光谱的完全覆盖。这种利用增益拼接加宽光谱的方法可以有效避免光谱成分的非线性相位噪声,并且有利于进一步压窄脉冲。  相似文献

A fiber laser with either a polarization-independent semiconductor saturable absorption mirror (PID-SESAM) or a polarization-dependent SESAM (PD-SESAM) as a passive mode-locker is constructed for obtaining the vector soliton bunching. The temporal patterns of the soliton bunching generated from the fiber laser with a PD-SESAM are much more abundant than that in fiber laser with a PID-SESAM. Only the vibrating soliton bunching is generated from the fiber laser with a PID-SESAM. However, there are another three interesting temporal patterns of the soliton bunching generated from the fiber laser with a PD-SESAM except for the vibrating soliton bunching. They are variable length soliton bunching, breathing soliton bunching and stable soliton bunching along the slow axis induced by polarization instability. It is found that the polarization property of the saturable absorber plays a pivotal role for achieving different temporal patterns of the soliton bunching.  相似文献

被动锁模光纤激光器腔体结构简单,可以实现全光纤集成,是产生超短脉冲的有效方法,而非线性偏振旋转又是其中最重要、最简单的被动锁模方法。为了研究基于非线性偏振旋转被动锁模光纤激光器存在的多种不同工作模式,采用实验方法,得到了包括正常孤子态,多脉冲束缚态,噪声像脉冲态等输出模式。结果表明,基于非线性偏振旋转被动锁模光纤激光器存在多种不同的工作模式。  相似文献

The wavelength-switchable fiber laser has been studied in this paper. A wavelength-switchable erbium-doped fiber ring laser constructed using cascaded five fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) incorporated with amplitude modulator is achieved and switching over 5 separate wavelengths has been demonstrated. The output power is about −4 dB m, the 3-dB linewidth is less than 0.02 nm, and the side mode suppression ratio is more than 45 dB. The transit process of the wavelength switching from one wavelength to another is studied and the lasing competition is also investigated.  相似文献

提出并研究了一种线性腔结构的基于 SESAM(半导体可饱和吸收镜)的被动调 Q光纤光栅掺铒光纤激光器,该激光器无需采用偏振控制器控制激光偏振态,简化了调 Q 激光器的结构。该激光器的中心波长为1549.975 nm,阈值功率为143 mW,斜效率为1.2%。当泵浦功率从149 mW增加到180 mW时,脉冲重复频率从5.431 kHz增加到9.778 kHz。当泵浦功率为155 mW时,激光脉冲的能量为5.6 nJ,重复频率为6.538 kHz,脉冲宽度为40μs。  相似文献

锁模光纤激光器因其紧凑小巧、成本低和光束质量好等优点,近年来获得了快速发展。根据锁模原理可将锁模光纤激光器分为三类:主动锁模光纤激光器、被动锁模光纤激光器、主被动混合锁模光纤激光器。本文对各类锁模光纤激光器的关键技术和研究进展作了较为详细的介绍,并展望了其应用前景。  相似文献
