In multi-site (parallel) manufacturing systems, each selling region (SR) is usually allocated to a specific manufacturing site (MS) in order to minimise the transportation costs, simplify the planning process, etc. However, such manufacturing systems usually encounter great drawbacks in terms of over-achievement or under-achievement of the forecasted demand due to isolation of the MSs. To cope with this drawback, this paper proposes a novel framework for preparing an optimal aggregate production plan by interconnecting the MSs through lateral trans-shipment. In the presence of fluctuating and dynamic demands, we apply some classic strategies including the inventory holding, back-ordering, and additional capacity options (i.e. overtime and changing workforce level) as well as lateral trans-shipment of products among MSs as the feasible strategies undertaken. Maximising the total profit and minimising the manufacturing lead time are considered as two managerial goals. Due to ambiguousness of some critical parameters as well as vagueness of objectives’ target values, a fuzzy goal programming (FGP) approach with imprecise goal hierarchy is developed for modelling the aggregate production-distribution planning (APDP) problem with trans-shipment. The proposed FGP model is then converted to an equivalent crisp one by combining the two recently developed fuzzy programming approaches. An illustrative example inspired by a real case study is provided to show the usefulness and applicability of the proposed model.  相似文献

This paper proposes a three-phase approach for supplier selection based on the Kano model and fuzzy Multi Criteria Decision-Making. Since the supplier selection problem involves different criteria, quality attributes have been assumed to denote the importance weight of the criteria for supplier selection. Furthermore, to consider the inherent vagueness of human thought, a fuzzy logic has been utilised. Initially, the importance weight of the criteria has been calculated using a fuzzy Kano questionnaire and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. In the second phase, the Fuzzy TOPSIS technique has been used to screen out in capable suppliers. Finally, in the third phase, the filtered suppliers which are qualified, once again will be evaluated by the same approach for the final ranking. The proposed approach has also been examined in a case study.  相似文献

This paper aims to compare two tools for decision makers that intend to support the decision of the selection of the appropriate supplier. Suppliers are crucial to both the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of companies. A critical success factor of these companies is the selection of the appropriate supplier. A methodology is proposed to optimise the evaluation process based on different criteria. The proposed approach extends the one proposed by Ordoobadi (2009 Ordoobadi, SM. 2009. Development of a supplier selection model using fuzzy logic. Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, 14(4): 314327. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar], Development of a supplier selection model using fuzzy logic. Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, 14 (4), 314–327) who proposed the application of fuzzy logic (FL) where we use the same example case study in order to compare the analytic hierarch process (AHP) with FL. In this paper we demonstrate how we can achieve the same objective of expressing human assessments in the form of linguistic expressions by using AHP. Moreover, we demonstrate the capability to run a sensitivity analysis which helps to understand the causal relationships among the different factors. We demonstrate how this capability can help us to explain and predict the different relationships among criteria and alternatives. Moreover, we provide a measure that is able to capture the consistency of the decision maker's preferences. In our approach we provide a single unit of scale that is not only capable of ranking suppliers but also provides an understanding of the difference in scale between different suppliers which can then help to allocate resources accordingly. These facilities are not offered by Ordoobadi (2009 Ordoobadi, SM. 2009. Development of a supplier selection model using fuzzy logic. Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, 14(4): 314327. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]). The proposed approach here can help companies to identify the best supplier in changing environments. The paper describes a decision model that incorporates a decision maker's subjective assessments and applies a multiple criteria decision making technique to manipulate and quantify these assessments. Unlike many similar studies, two techniques have been performed on the same case study in order to improve our understanding of the differences in the proposed techniques.  相似文献

The problem of part supplier selection is a major concern for all manufacturers when seeking to enhance the products’ quality and productivity. The objective of this paper is to propose an integrated genetic algorithm based grey goal programming (G3) approach to solve the part supplier selection problem. The main factor in part supplier selection is the assembly relation of the parts so as to find the suitable suppliers combination for the parts of a product. We first identify the main factors affected on supplier selection. We then present a grey-based goal programming model to work as the fitness function to evaluate the suppliers with respect to the total deviation the factors have from the ideal values. Since the objective is to find the best solution, a genetic algorithm is used to solve this problem for faster and better evaluation. The novelty of this integrated approach is to apply both qualitative and quantitative factors at once in one model and to use the grey theory to cover the lack of information of qualitative factors in order to find a solution in a near real situation.  相似文献

According to a study conducted by PwC and the Business Continuity Institute in 2013, 75% of companies experience at least one major supply chain disruption a year and majority of the disruptions were caused by supply-related problems. With an increasing emphasis on upstream risk, risk management in supplier selection has become a critical issue faced by companies. Although previous studies proposed different methods and tools for effective and efficient supplier selection, only few approaches have attempted to incorporate risk mitigation strategies in supplier selection decisions. Our study aims to fill this gap by considering a wide range of quantitative and qualitative risk factors in supplier selection and evaluates the efficacy of alternative risk mitigation strategies in this context. Moreover, we suggest that both upstream and downstream strategies should be utilised simultaneously rather than relying on a single type of strategy. We further suggest that it is critical to align upstream and downstream risk mitigation strategies to reduce risk. We employ multi-objective optimization-based simulation in developing a decision model and consider data from an automotive parts manufacturer to demonstrate the application of our approach.  相似文献

Decision-making techniques are used to help evaluate the current suppliers’ aim at classifying performance of individual suppliers against desired levels of performance, so as to design suitable plans to increase the performance and capabilities of suppliers. In this study, an integrated model is introduced and proposed for increasing the supplier selection and evaluation quality. The methodology is composed of two steps. The first stage is fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory method in which the interactions between the evaluation criteria and the criteria weight have been computed. At the second stage, performances of suppliers are assessed using both the criteria weights obtained at the first stage and fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm by classifying the vendors according to their performances. Obtained results show that the proposed model is very well suited as a decision-making tool for supplier selection decisions.  相似文献

Supplier evaluation and selection (SES) problems have long been studied, leading to the development of a wide range of individual and hybrid models for solving them. However, the lack of widespread diffusion of existing SES models in the industry points to a need for simpler models that can systematically evaluate both qualitative and quantitative attributes of potential suppliers while enhancing the flexibility decision-makers need to account for relevant situational factors. Furthermore, empirical validations of existing models in SES have been few and far between. With a view to addressing these issues, this paper proposes an integrated solution framework that can be used to evaluate both tangible and intangible attributes of potential suppliers. The proposed framework combines three individual methods, namely the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process, fuzzy complex proportional assessment and fuzzy linear programming. The framework is validated through application in a Turkish textile company. The results generated using the proposed framework is compared with the actual historical data collected from the company. Additionally, a feasibility assessment is conducted on the sample supplier selection criteria employed, as well as assessment of the results generated using the proposed model.  相似文献

Supply chain operation with sustainable consideration has become an increasingly important issue in recent years. However, the decision framework with integrated costing and performance evaluation for green supply chain (GSC) has not been well developed so far in the literature. For this reason, this paper is aimed to propose a fuzzy goal programming (FGP) approach that integrates activity-based costing (ABC) and performance evaluation in a value-chain structure for optimal GSC supplier selection and flow allocation. The FGP approach is particularly suitable for such a decision model which includes flexible goals, financial and non-financial measures, quantitative and qualitative methods, multi-layer structure, multiple criteria, multiple objectives, and multiple strategies. An activity-based example of structural GSC with relevant costs and performances is presented for computing the composite performance indices of the GSC suppliers. A green supply chain of a mobile phone is used as an illustrative case. Several objective structures and their results are compared. The sensitivity analyses show that pure maximisation of financial profit can achieve the highest profit level, which also has the largest Euclidean distance to the multiple aspiration goals. In order to determine the final objective structure, an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used. This paper provides a new approach to assess and control a complex GSC based on value-chain activities, and obtain a more precise solution. The establishment of this GSC model not only helps decision-makers to monitor GSC comprehensive performance but also can facilitate further improvement and development of GSC management.  相似文献

In product development, the identification of critical design requirements (DRs) is key to satisfying customer needs because it helps produce more successful products in a shorter time. Quality function deployment (QFD) is a tool used in product development to systematically determine the DRs so as to attain higher customer satisfaction. In the QFD process, the simultaneous optimisation of more than one conflicting objective is generally required. However, it is very difficult for decision makers to determine the goal value of each objective in imprecise and uncertain environments. In order to overcome this problem, the present study proposes a fuzzy mixed-integer goal programming model that determines a combination of optimal DR values. Different from the existing fuzzy goal programming models, the values of the DRs in the proposed model are taken as discrete. Finally, a new Decision Support System is developed. The new system integrates QFD and mathematical programming, enabling the design team to effectively compare product design alternatives and make product development easier and faster. The proposed methodology is illustrated using a real-world application in the Turkish white goods industry.  相似文献

Global supplier selection has a critical effect on the competitiveness of the entire supply chain network. Research results indicate that the supplier selection process appears to be the most significant variable in deciding the success of the supply chain. It helps in achieving high quality products at lower cost with higher customer satisfaction. Apart from the common criteria such as cost and quality, this paper also discusses some of the important decision variables which can play a critical role in case of the international sourcing. The importance of the political-economic situation, geographical location, infrastructure, financial background, performance history, risk factors, etc., have also been pointed out in particularly in the case of global supplier selection. Supplier selection problem related to the global sourcing is more complex than the general domestic sourcing and as a result it needs more critical analysis, which could not be found properly in past available literatures. This paper discusses the fuzzy based Analytic Hierarchy Process (fuzzy-AHP) to efficiently tackle both quantitative and qualitative decision factors involved in selection of global supplier in current business scenario. The fuzzy-AHP is an efficient tool to tackle the fuzziness of the data involved in deciding the preferences of the different decision variables involved in the process of global supplier selection. The triangular fuzzy numbers are used to transform the linguistic comparison of the different decision criteria, sub-criteria and performance of the alternative suppliers. The pairwise comparison matrices help in deciding the synthetic extent value of each comparison and finally, the priority weights of one alternative over another are decided in this paper. An example from a manufacturing industry searching for the global supplier for a critical component is used to demonstrate the effective implementation procedure of proposed fuzzy-AHP technique. The proposed model can provide the guidelines and directions for the decision makers to effectively select their global suppliers in the current competitive business scenario.  相似文献

Supplier selection is an important strategic design decision in closed-loop supply chain systems. In addition, and after identifying the candidate suppliers, optimal order allocations are also considered as crucial tactical decisions. This research presents a multi-objective optimisation model to select the best suppliers and configure manufacturing and refurbishing facilities with the optimal number of parts and products in a closed-loop supply chain network. The objective functions in this research are formulated as total profit, total defective parts, total late delivered parts and economic risk factors of the candidate suppliers. The proposed multi-objective model is solved by hybrid Monte Carlo simulation integrated with three different variants of goal programming method. The effectiveness of the mathematical model and the proposed solution algorithms in obtaining Pareto-optimal solutions is demonstrated in a numerical example adopted from a real case study.  相似文献

In the past three decades, the magnitude of business dynamics has increased rapidly due to increased complexity, uncertainty and risk of international projects. This fact made it increasingly tough to ‘go alone’ into the international projects. As a consequence, companies with diverse strengths and weaknesses cooperatively bid for joint ventures (JV) formation. Joint venture is also a well-established aspect of the crude oil industry, specifically in the upstream segment. Making decision on the optimal form of JVs is still a challenging problem. In addition, the success of a JV is intertwined with the accuracy of the partner selection phase. Therefore, this paper formulates a multi-criteria mathematical model to select the best partners and form an optimal JV for undertaking oilfield projects. The lexicographic goal programming technique is employed to minimise undesirable deviations from diverse goals such as resources needs (technological and expertise), budgetary requirements, time, etc. The model is validated with a real-life-based example and provides insightful views on alternative formats of cooperation.  相似文献

In conventional supplier selection approaches, cost consideration is usually emphasised and it renders a vulnerable supply chain with various risks. This article aims to develop a quantitative approach for modelling both supply chain operational risks and disruption risks to support decision-making with regard to order allocation and risk mitigation. We introduce two types of risk evaluation models: value-at-risk (VaR) and conditional value-at-risk (CVaR). Specifically, VaR is used to measure operational risks caused by improper selection and operations of a supplier portfolio to the stochastic demand, which may frequently occur but result in relatively small losses to supply chains; CVaR is used to evaluate disruption risks that are less frequent and tend to cause significant damage. After incorporating risk factors into a probability-based multi-criteria optimisation model, different methods and parameters are compared and tested to determine the factors that may influence the supplier selection process. Computational examples by simulation are presented to illustrate the approach and how decision-makers make trade-offs between costs and hybrid risks.  相似文献

Motivated by a real case of an automobile company, this study proposes a multi-objective, multi-site production planning model integrating procurement and distribution plans in a multi-echelon supply chain network with multiple suppliers, multiple manufacturing plants and multiple distribution centres. The model incorporates four important conflicting objectives simultaneously: minimisation of the total cost of logistics, maximisation of the total value of purchasing, minimisation of defective items and minimisation of late deliveries subject to some realistic constraints. Due to the imprecise/fuzzy nature of the objectives’ aspiration levels and some critical data, an interactive fuzzy goal programming formulation is first developed. Then, a novel fuzzy approach is proposed to convert the FGP model into an auxiliary crisp formulation to find an efficient compromise solution. The proposed model and solution method are validated through some numerical tests. Computational results indicate the practicality and tractability of the proposed model and also the superiority of the proposed auxiliary crisp formulation in contrast to the current alternative fuzzy approaches.  相似文献

This paper deals with the supplier selection process when the criteria of selection are not independent. The primary aim is to illustrate that ignoring the interdependencies among these criteria leads to an unrealistic decision. Since supplier selection is a multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) process, the general structures of the relative methods are outlined in this paper. The proposed methodology then presents a comprehensive approach to find the best ranking among the alternative suppliers of a typical product. A hybrid modified TOPSIS is integrated with a preemptive goal programming model in this study and then compared to an analytical hierarchy process (AHP) to show the effect of considering interdependencies in the supplier selection process. The results indicate that the proposed methodology provides a higher total value of purchasing (TVP) than AHP while the total cost of purchasing (TCP) of both methods are equal. Empirical proof is offered based on a case study.  相似文献

This study examines the association between organisational life cycle (OLC) stages and the use and success of activity-based management (ABM) practices. The results reveal that maturity and revival stage business units use each level of ABM to a greater extent than those in the birth, growth and decline stages. In addition, while the level of ABM success does not differ across OLC stages, ABM success is dependent upon business units using each ABM practice to the greatest extent. The findings provide managers with an insight into the appropriateness of using ABM practices at different OLC stages.  相似文献

This paper presents a new weighted fuzzy multi-objective model to integrated supplier selection, order quantity allocation and customer order scheduling problem to prepare a responsive and order-oriented supply chain in a make-to-order manufacturing system. Total cost and quality of purchased parts as well as the reliability of on-time delivery of customer orders are regarded as the objectives of the model. On the other hand, flexible suppliers can contribute to the responsiveness and flexibility of entire supply chain in the face of uncertain customer orders. Therefore, a mathematical measure is developed for evaluating the volume flexibility of suppliers and is considered as the other objective of the model. Furthermore, by considering the effect of interdependencies between the selection criteria and to handle inconsistent and uncertain judgments, a fuzzy analytic network process method is used to identify top suppliers and consider as the last objective. In order to optimise these objectives, the decision-maker needs to decide from which supplier to purchase parts needed to assemble the customer orders, how to allocate the demand for parts between the selected suppliers, and how to schedule the customer orders for assembled products over the planning time horizon. Numerical examples are presented and computational analysis is reported.  相似文献

Risk is inherent in almost every activity of supply chain management. With the ever-increasing push for efficiency, supply chains today are getting more and more risky. Adding to the difficulty of dealing with these risks is the amount of subjectivity and uncertainty involved. This makes analytical examination of the situation very difficult, especially as the amount of information available at a particular time is not sufficient for such an analysis. Thus a supply chain risk index, which captures the level of risk faced by a supply chain in a given situation, is the need of the hour. This study is an effort towards quantifying the risks in a supply chain and then consolidating the values into a comprehensive risk index. An integrated approach, with a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and a fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) as its important elements, has been used for this purpose. Fuzzy values in this study help in capturing the subjectivity of the situation with a final conversion to a crisp value which is much more comprehensible. A case study is used to illustrate the proposed methodology.  相似文献

In this paper, we integrate the three strategies that are important to most firms, namely pricing, lot-sizing and supplier selection. Combining the three objectives of total profit, inconsistency, and deficiency with a set of constraints, we formulate this integrated problem as a multi-objective nonlinear programming model, proposing a genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) that provides decision-makers with a number of Pareto-optimal solutions, one of which can be selected on the basis of the higher-level information. We analyse the trade-off between the different Pareto-optimal solutions and discuss the results of that analysis. We then evaluate the performance of NSGA-II compared with SPEA2 in solving the model, which shows NSGA-II performs better. Finally, concluding remarks and suggestions for future research are provided.  相似文献

A supply chain ecosystem consists of the elements of the supply chain and the entities that influence the goods, information and financial flows through the supply chain. These influences come through government regulations, human, financial and natural resources, logistics infrastructure and management, etc., and thus affect the supply chain performance. Similarly, all the ecosystem elements also contribute to the risk. The aim of this paper is to identify both performances-based and risk-based decision criteria, which are important and critical to the supply chain. A two step approach using fuzzy AHP and fuzzy technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution has been proposed for multi-criteria decision-making and illustrated using a numerical example. The first step does the selection without considering risks and then in the next step suppliers are ranked according to their risk profiles. Later, the two ranks are consolidated into one. In subsequent section, the method is also extended for multi-tier supplier selection. In short, we are presenting a method for the design of a resilient supply chain, in this paper.  相似文献
