Global supplier selection has a critical effect on the competitiveness of the entire supply chain network. Research results indicate that the supplier selection process appears to be the most significant variable in deciding the success of the supply chain. It helps in achieving high quality products at lower cost with higher customer satisfaction. Apart from the common criteria such as cost and quality, this paper also discusses some of the important decision variables which can play a critical role in case of the international sourcing. The importance of the political-economic situation, geographical location, infrastructure, financial background, performance history, risk factors, etc., have also been pointed out in particularly in the case of global supplier selection. Supplier selection problem related to the global sourcing is more complex than the general domestic sourcing and as a result it needs more critical analysis, which could not be found properly in past available literatures. This paper discusses the fuzzy based Analytic Hierarchy Process (fuzzy-AHP) to efficiently tackle both quantitative and qualitative decision factors involved in selection of global supplier in current business scenario. The fuzzy-AHP is an efficient tool to tackle the fuzziness of the data involved in deciding the preferences of the different decision variables involved in the process of global supplier selection. The triangular fuzzy numbers are used to transform the linguistic comparison of the different decision criteria, sub-criteria and performance of the alternative suppliers. The pairwise comparison matrices help in deciding the synthetic extent value of each comparison and finally, the priority weights of one alternative over another are decided in this paper. An example from a manufacturing industry searching for the global supplier for a critical component is used to demonstrate the effective implementation procedure of proposed fuzzy-AHP technique. The proposed model can provide the guidelines and directions for the decision makers to effectively select their global suppliers in the current competitive business scenario. 相似文献

This paper proposes the joint use of the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and the ICB (IPMA Competence Baseline), as a tool for the decision-making process of selecting the most suitable managers for projects. A hierarchical structure, comprising the IPMA’s ICB 3.0 contextual, behavioural and technical competence elements, is constructed for the selection of project managers. It also describes the AHP implementation, illustrating the whole process with an example using all the 46 ICB competence elements as model criteria. This tool can be of high interest to decision-makers because it allows comparing the candidates for managing a project using a systematic and rigorous process with a rich set of proven criteria. 相似文献

This paper describes an application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for selecting the best maintenance strategy for an important Italian oil refinery (an Integrated Gasification and Combined Cycle plant). Five possible alternatives are considered: preventive, predictive, condition-based, corrective and opportunistic maintenance. The best maintenance policy must be selected for each facility of the plant (about 200 in total). The machines are clustered in three homogeneous groups after a criticality analysis based on internal procedures of the oil refinery. With AHP technique, several aspects, which characterise each of the above-mentioned maintenance strategies, are arranged in a hierarchic structure and evaluated using only a series of pairwise judgements. To improve the effectiveness of the methodology AHP is coupled with a sensitivity analysis. 相似文献

Using the Analytic Network Process (ANP), this article aims at presenting a new concept for multicriteria material selection by means of allowing feedback and interactions within and between sets of design criteria and alternatives. The approach and its advantages are discussed using a multicriteria material selection case study on non-metallic gears under multifunctional design requirements (thermal performance, mechanical performance, and weight). In particular, it is shown how the selection of material alternatives under different criteria can be viewed as a network problem, as opposed to a conventional hierarchical decision-making process. The effect of different weighting factors of criteria clusters on the final solution is also discussed. 相似文献

Collaboration management has become a key issue for supply-chain management and can improve the overall production/manufacturing performance and value. This paper aims to conduct collaborative supply-chain planning and establish supplier selection, as well as production and distribution planning. This study uses an Analytic Hierarchy Process with Rough Sets Theory to establish a supplier purchasing value rating system. Also, a cycle-time estimation procedure is developed to effectively estimate the operating time of a collaborative supply chain. Assembly-line balancing technology is also introduced to guarantee smooth production and distribution in a supply chain. A multi-objective optimisation mathematical model, including purchasing value, cost, cycle time, and smoothness index, is constructed to complete the supplier selection and production-distribution planning. To efficiently solve this mathematical model, this paper proposes a genetic algorithm (EctGA) combined with a cycle-time estimation procedure. Finally, it presents a case study for validation. The results show that a better collaborative supply chain plan could be achieved by combining the proposed cycle-time estimation procedure. 相似文献

In the last two decades, pressure from various stakeholders has forced many companies to establish environmental and social improvements both in their company and their supply chains. The growing number of journal publications and conference proceedings confirms this change also in academia. The aim of this paper is to analyse and review scientific literature on sustainable supplier management (SSM) with a focus on formal models supporting decision-making in sustainable supplier selection, monitoring and development. For this purpose, a framework on SSM is proposed and a comprehensive content analysis including a criteria analysis is carried out. Beyond this, in total 143 peer-reviewed publications between 1997 and 2014 have been analysed to identify both established and overlooked research fields. Major findings are the rapidly growing interest of this topic in academia in recent years, the predominance of Analytic Hierarchy Process, Analytic Network Process and fuzzy-based approaches, the focus on the final evaluation and selection process step and the rare investigation of social and quantitative metrics. This review may be useful for practitioners and scientists as it outlines major characteristics in this field, which can serve as a basis for further research. 相似文献

This paper presents a ‘Lexicographic’ Goal Programming (LGP) approach to define the best strategies for the maintenance of critical centrifugal pumps in an oil refinery. For each pump failure mode, the model allows to take into account the maintenance policy burden in terms of inspection or repair and in terms of the manpower involved, linking them to efficiency-risk aspects quantified as in FMECA methodology through the use of the classic parameters occurrence (O), severity (S) and detectability (D), evaluated through an adequate application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique. An extended presentation of the data and results of the case analysed is proposed in order to show the characteristics and performance of this approach. 相似文献

Decision support for concept selection in engineering design ranges from simple pairwise comparison techniques to methods
that consider multiple criteria. The Analytic Hierarchy Process, or AHP, is an example of a multicriteria selection tool with
wide-spread industry application. It is recognized by responsible practitioners that AHP, like other decision support methods,
is best used not as an optimization tool, but as a means of clarifying individual or group attitudes; the numerical rankings
that are its output are not definitive. This paper offers a means to quantify how differently two alternatives must be ranked
by AHP to instill confidence that one is truly better than the other, a question that is in practice always answered using
intuition. The quantification of uncertainty in AHP relies on the extension of concepts from statistical hypothesis testing.
The procedure is not stochastic in the same way that physical measurement is, so probability distributions are created over
relevant parameters. The quantified uncertainty depends, as in all statistical analysis, upon the assumed distributions. The
uncertainty in AHP is quantified from two distinct points of view. The first makes the assumption that AHP is structurally
correct but subject to measurement “error” in the pairwise comparisons, while the second quantifies the uncertainties introduced
by AHP’s failure to consider different level of compensation in trade-offs among criteria. 相似文献

The classification performance evaluation goal for an air classifier is usually limited to one of the classification performance indices including cut size, classification precision, Newton classification efficiency and degree of dispersion. This method hardly evaluates these performance indices of an air classifier comprehensively and suitably. In order to evaluate the classification performance truly and synthetically, Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process is used to calculate the weights of the classification performance indices after determining the hierarchical model in the present paper. The dimensionless transformation eliminates the effect of the different dimensions. Then, the comprehensive evaluation value of the classification performance for each experiment is obtained using the linear weighted method. The maximum value corresponds to the best classification performance among these evaluation values. In the present study, a turbo air classifier is used as the classification system and talc powders are used as materials. The best classification performance indices are a cut size of 16.5 μm, a classification precision of 0.59, a Newton classification efficiency of 57%, and a degree of dispersion of 2.13. The corresponding optimal operational parameter combinations are: the feeding speed is 40 kg·h–1, the air inlet velocity is 5 m·s–1 and the rotor cage's rotary speed is 1200·min–1. This assessment method avoids the limitation of evaluating a single classification performance index and the incomplete information derived from single factor experiments. Furthermore, the method also provides quantitative evaluation criteria for the classification performance of an air classifier. In the proposed method, the classification performance indices can be selected and the precedence relation matrix of Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process can be set flexibly according to production requirements. 相似文献

This paper proposes a combined model for port selection and supply chain optimisation for the installation phase of an offshore wind farm. Two strategic models are proposed where the first model, based on Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), aims to select the most suitable installation port. The second model is developed using Integer Linear Programming (ILP) in order to determine the optimal transportation schedule of the components from suppliers to the chosen installation port. The proposed models are evaluated for the West Gabbard (UK) offshore wind farm located in southern part of the North Sea. According to the computational results, the AHP model chooses port of Oostende, Belgium as the most suitable installation port for this offshore wind farm whereas the proposed supply chain model shows that the total transportation cost makes up 9% of total supply chain cost. 相似文献

During COVID-19, the escalated demand for various pharmaceutical products with the existing production capacity of pharmaceutical companies has stirred the need to prioritize its customers in order to fulfill their demand. This study considers a two-echelon pharmaceutical supply chain considering various pharma-distributors as its suppliers and hospitals, pharmacies, and retail stores as its customers. Previous studies have generally considered a balanced situation in terms of supply and demand whereas this study considers a special situation of COVID-19 pandemic where demand exceeds supply Various criteria have been identified from the literature that influences the selection of customers. A questionnaire has been developed to collect primary data from pharmaceutical suppliers pertaining to customer-selection criteria. These criteria have been prioritized with respect to eigenvalues obtained from Principal Component Analysis and also validated with the experts’ domain-related knowledge using Analytical Hierarchy Process. Profit potential appeared to be the most important criteria of customer selection followed by trust and service convenience brand loyalty, commitment, brand awareness, brand image, sustainable behavior, and risk. Subsequently, Multi Criteria Decision Analysis has been performed to prioritize the customer-selection criteria and customers with respect to selection criteria. Three experts with seven and three and ten years of experience have participated in the study. Findings of the study suggest large hospitals, large pharmacies, and small retail stores are the highly preferred customers. Moreover, findings of prioritization of customer-selection criteria from both Principal Component Analysis and Analytical Hierarchy Process are consistent. Furthermore, this study considers the experience of three experts to calculate an aggregate score of priorities to reach an effective decision. Unlike traditional supply chain problems of supplier selection, this study considers a selection of customers and is useful for procurement and supply chain managers to prioritize customers while considering multiple selection criteria. 相似文献

In the competitive global business environment of the 21st century, enterprises must respond effectively to customer demands. The selection of suppliers and the evaluation of their performance are becoming major challenges that face manufacturing managers. Assessing a group of suppliers and selecting one or more of them is a complex task because various criteria must be considered in the decision making process. Quality is an essential factor in qualifying a corporation to enter the marketplace. In fact, the quality of parts obtained from suppliers determines the quality of the finished product. Hence, quality is the fundamental factor for supplier evaluation among various criteria. This study applies the process incapability index Cpp to develop an evaluation model that assesses the quality performance of suppliers. The model simplifies the evaluation of suppliers, facilitates their effective selection, and provides insights into the process situation of suppliers who may enter into a long-term partnership with a company. 相似文献
