The INTFIS package is presented. It is a fully interactive user-oriented software package for the design and analysis of electronic filters. After the package is situated in the general framework of network synthesis, its general objectives are described. This paper presents an experience report on a novel approach for a course on intermediate and advanced computer graphics topics. The approach uses Teachlet Tutorials, a combination of traditional seminar–type teaching with interactive exploration of the content by the audience, plus development of self-contained tutorials on the topic. In addition to a presentation, an interactive software tool is developed by the students to assist the audience in learning and exploring the topic's details. This process is guided through set tasks. The resulting course material is developed for two different contexts: (a) for classroom presentation and (b) as an interactive, self-contained, self-learning tutorial. The overall approach results in a more thorough understanding of the topic both for the student teachers as well as for the class participants. In addition to detailing the Teachlet Tutorial approach, this paper presents our experiences implementing the approach in our Advanced Computer Graphics course and presents the resultant projects. Most of the final Teachlet Tutorials were surprisingly good and we had excellent feedback from the students on the approach and course.  相似文献

在诸多交互式软件系统中,包括软件开发工具及基于万维网的工具,性能问题是至关重要的.然而在软件开发过程中,性能问题并未得到足够的重视.主要目的是展示一种有效方法, 使得经过细致设计后交互式软件有满意的性能.展示如何应用软件性能工程方法于交互式软件工具开发中,特别注重在设计阶段的性能估算及其在决定实现方案时之效果.除了源于软件性能工程的严格的量化估算方法,提出性能亦可半量化或非量化方法进行有效而经济的估算. 基于结果的描述,最终建议为源于软件性能工程方法学中苛求采用系统环境参数进行细化定量性能估算未必是惟一手段.演示了在软件工具开发早期阶段中一种用以评估性能的基于分析和实验的有效综合途经.希望能反映出了良好的实验计算机科学之本质.  相似文献

This paper describes an effort to provide automated support for the interactive inquiry and explanation process that is at the heart of software understanding. A hypermedia tool called I-Doc allows software engineers to post queries about a software system, and generates focused explanations in response. These explanations are task oriented, i.e., they are sensitive to the software engineering task being performed by the user that led to the query. Task orientation leads to more effective explanations, and is particularly helpful for understanding large software systems. Empirical studies of inquiry episodes were conducted in order to investigate this claim: the kinds of questions users ask, their relation to the user's task and level of expertise. The I-Doc tool is being developed to embody these principles, employing knowledge-based techniques. The presentation mechanism employs World Wide Web (WWW) technology, making it suitable for widespread use.  相似文献

In this study, a multimedia computer‐aided tutorial (MCAT) on the topic of debris‐flow hazards was developed for senior high‐school students in Taiwan. The format of the new course is a blend of whole‐class presentations, interactive discussions among the teacher and students, and classroom activities using the MCAT software. The whole‐class presentation was presented using both a laptop computer and a high‐resolution liquid crystal display projector to display the MCAT contents on a large white screen in front of a whole class. Besides, class discussions between the teacher and the students and among students were also embedded in the teaching format. Students' earth science learning outcomes were evaluated by administering an achievement test and a survey of attitudes towards the earth science subject before and after the course. The results indicated that MCAT accompanied by the current ‘interactive whole‐class teaching’ form could significantly help the students' grasp of earth science concepts and greatly improve their attitudes towards earth science.  相似文献

This paper describes work undertaken as part of a three-stranded project. The main deliverable will be a suite of software tools, classes and components, as well as teaching resources and methodologies to facilitate the production of intelligent multimedia tutoring systems.

The three strands of this project explore differing aspects of multimedia, and while they stand as separate pieces of work in their own right, they also form the building blocks of the final deliverable, which is an intelligent tutoring system. Intermediate outcomes include a multimedia shell and the Manley Group Demonstrator.

This paper focuses on the design and development of the “true multimedia” demonstrator that has now reached the stage of being a fairly mature prototype. It is used commercially by a communications company to illustrate the varying levels of sophistication which can be achieved in presentation systems and provides an exemplar demonstrating the varying degrees of functionality possible using current technology. The main requirement in the design and implementation has been usability both for end users and content developers.

Real-time control of the multimedia devices is achieved using sophisticated software which is tightly integrated with dedicated control hardware. The software can be used to produce canned presentations or highly interactive systems.

The system is installed in a dedicated presentation suite, thus allowing the true nature of multimedia to be demonstrated. It is scaleable in that it can be used to produce stand-alone portable solutions, highly interactive touch-screen controlled applications or complete multi-device high end presentations. This is achieved using the appropriate combination of software tools and hardware for a specific application.

Macromedia Director is used to produce visual and creative material for the system, while Macromedia Authorware can be used to provide interactivity. © 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.  相似文献
