The effect of MgO/La2O3 additives on phase composition, microstructures, sintering behavior, and microwave dielectric properties of 0.7(Sr0.01Ca0.99)TiO3−0.3(Sm0.75Nd0.25)AlO3 (7SCT-3SNA) ceramics prepared via conventional solid-state route were systematically investigated. MgO/La2O3 as additives showed no obvious influence on the phase composition of the 7SCT-3SNA ceramics and all the samples exhibited pure perovskite structures. The presence of MgO/La2O3 additives effectively reduced the sintering temperature of 7SCT-3SNA ceramics due to the formation of a liquid phase at a relatively low temperature during sintering progress. The 0.5 wt% MgO doped 7SCT-3SNA sample with 0.5 wt% of La2O3, sintered at 1320 °C for 4 h, was measured to show superior microwave dielectric properties, with an εr of 45.57, a Q×f value of 46205 GHz (at 5.5 GHz), and τf value of −0.32 ppm/°C, which showed dense and uniform microstructure as well as well-developed grain growth.  相似文献

BaO-Sm2O3-5TiO2 (BST5) ceramics with NdAlO3 additions of up to 15 wt% were produced with a solid state reaction method, and their structural and microwave dielectric properties were determined. Experimental results showed that NdAlO3 neither merged nor altered the orthorhombic tungsten bronze structure of the main phase of the produced ceramics (except for a shrinkage in the crystal lattice), but it was segregated in distinct grains in the microstructure of the produced ceramics. However, the amount of NdAlO3 strongly influenced the densification and the microstructure (i.e. grain shape and size) of the produced ceramics. Analysis of the experimental results suggests that the microstructural features can be correlated to the dielectric properties of these ceramics. Accordingly, the dielectric constant (εr) and the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) of the produced BLT5 ceramics can be tuned with the amount of NdAlO3 additions and the sintering process parameters. The best dielectric properties were achieved for BaO-Sm2O3-5TiO2 ceramics with 7.5% NdAlO3r=73.22, Q×f =10,300 GHz, and τf=−1.05 ppm/°C).  相似文献

Recently, BaO–Nd2O3–TiO2 systems are widely studied for microwave applications because of their high dielectric constant and high quality factor. However, pure BaNd2Ti4O12 ceramics without additives have to be sintered above 1300 °C to achieve densification. Copper oxide has been known as a good sintering aid for electronic ceramics and less reactive toward silver. We have introduced the CuO into BaNd2Ti4O12 by modifying the surface of BaNd2Ti4O12 by CuO thin layer on the calcined powder instead of mixing CuO directly with BaNd2Ti4O12 powder. The process reduces the amount of sintering aid and minimized the negative impact of sintering aid on dielectric properties such as quality factor. The CuO precursor solution of Cu(CH3COO)2, Cu(NO3)2 and CuSO4, were used to prepare CuO thin layer. They were investigated individually to determine their effects on the densification, crystalline structure, microstructure and microwave dielectric properties of BaNd2Ti4O12. The CuSO4 coated BaNd2Ti4O12 sintered at 1150 °C has exhibited better dielectric properties than those of CuO doped BaNd2Ti4O12 (k, 62.5 versus 61.2; Q × f, 11,500 GHz versus 10,500 GHz). The thin layer dopant coating process has been found to be a very effective way to lower ceramic sintering temperature without scarifying its dielectric properties.  相似文献

YAG ceramics with good dielectric properties were prepared via a modified pyrolysis method, with yttrium nitrate as the yttrium source and combined aluminium sulphate and aluminium nitrate as aluminium sources, and subsequent sintering in a muffle furnace. The effects of the different aluminium sources on the powder characteristic and the impact of sintering temperature, sintering aids (TEOS) and additive (TiO2) on the dielectric properties of the ceramics were studied. The results show that well-dispersed pure YAG nano-powders can be obtained after calcination at 1000 °C with an aluminium sulphate and aluminium nitrate molar ratio of 1.5:2. The relative density, permittivity (εr) and quality factor (Q×f) of the YAG ceramics increase with sintering temperature and TEOS addition. TiO2 can greatly promote τf to near-zero but decreases Q×f. The relative density, εr, Q×f and τf of the YAG–1 wt% TEOS–1 wt% TiO2 ceramic obtained at 1520 °C are 97.6%, 9.9, 71, 738 GHz and −30 ppm/°C, respectively.  相似文献

Microwave dielectric properties of Li2Mg3−xCaxTiO6 (x=0–0.18) ceramics were studied using a conventional solid-state route to find temperature stable and high Q microwave ceramics. As the calcination temperature was 500 °C, the Li2TiO3 phase with monoclinic rock salt structure in C2/c space group started to form. When the samples were calcined from 600 °C to 900 °C, the XRD patterns exhibited a remarkable chemical reaction between the MgO and Li2TiO3 phases, which eventually formed the Li2Mg3TiO6 phase. The results indicated the Li2Mg3TiO6and CaTiO3 co-existed with each other and formed a stable composite system when the calcium content was added. The SEM photographs indicated that the pores caused by the Li evaporation could be effectively reduced due to the appearance of CaTiO3. As x was increased from 0 to 0.18, the relative density was significantly improved due to the elimination of pores. As the Ca content increased, the dielectric constant (εr) increased from 14.8 to 20.6; the quality factor (Q×f) decreased from 148,713 GHz to 79,845 GHz, and the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) significantly increased from −42.4 to +10.8 ppm/°C due to the increased amount of CaTiO3. Therefore, at x=0.12, the LMCxT ceramics sintered at 1280 °C for 6 h displayed excellent comprehensive properties of εr=17.8,Q×f=102,246 GHz and τf=−0.7 ppm/°C.  相似文献

The effect of dopants on BaTi4O9 (BT4) and Ba2Ti9O20 (B2T9) ceramics by the reaction-sintering process was investigated. CuO addition is more effective in lowering the sintering temperature of BT4 and B2T9 ceramics. MnO2 and CuO addition are effective to obtain temperature stable BT4 ceramics. With MnO2 addition, Q × f of BT4 ceramics could be raised. ZrO2 addition is effective to obtain B2T9 ceramics with higher dielectric constant. With CuO addition, τf of B2T9 ceramics shifted toward negative values and 0 ppm/°C could be obtained. Optimum properties in BT4 doped with MnO2 of ɛr = 37.1, Q × f = 51,200 GHz (at 7 GHz) and τf = 0 ppm/°C and in B2T9 doped with ZrO2 of ɛr = 37.9, Q × f = 39,700 GHz (at 7 GHz) and τf = 5.9 ppm/°C were obtained.  相似文献

(1-x)Mg0.90Ni0.1SiO3-xTiO2 (x = 0, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05) ceramics were successfully formed by the conventional solid-state methods and characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and their microstructure and microwave dielectric properties systematically investigated. It was observed that when TiO2 content increased from 0 to 5 wt%, the Qufo of the sample decreased from 118,702 GHz to 101,307 GHz and increases the τf value from −10 ppm/°C to +3.14 ppm/°C accompanied by a notable lowering in the sintering temperature (125 °C). A good combination of microwave dielectric properties (εr  8.29, Qufo  101,307 GHz and τf  −2.98 ppm/°C) were achieved for Mg0.90Ni0.1SiO3 containing 3 wt% of TiO2 sintered at 1300 °C for 9 h which make this material of possible interest for millimeter wave applications.  相似文献

Al2O3TiO2 ceramics has great promise as a dielectric resonator material for millimeter-wave use. The Al2O3TiO2MnO system provides low dielectric constant and high quality factor (Q). TiO2 and Al2O3 can compensate each other's temperature coefficient of resonant frequency. It is important to suppress the appearance of Al2TiO5 phase for obtaining high Q-value. In this study, dense Al2O3TiO2 mixed ceramics without Al2TiO5 phase was synthesized by lowering the sintering temperature. The addition of MnO decreases the sintering temperature from 1400 to 1300 °C. In this temperature range, Al2TiO5 phase is hardly formed. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) patterns show that the ceramics is composed of Al2O3 and TiO2 phases only. Dense and well dispersed mixture of Al2O3 and TiO2 grains is observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The 0.9Al2O30.1TiO2 ceramics doped with 0.4 mol% of MnO has dielectric constant of 12.4, Q × f of 274,000 GHz at 76 GHz, and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of +0.4 ppm/°C. The dielectric constant and the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency can be controlled by TiO2 content. This ceramics is suitable for millimeter-wave applications because of its low dielectric constant, high Q-value, and small temperature coefficient of resonant frequency.  相似文献

Li2MnO3 ceramics co-doped with 2 wt% LiF and x wt% TiO2 (x=0, 3, 5, 7, 10) were prepared by solid-state reaction for low-temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) applications. The sintering temperatures of Li2MnO3 ceramics were successfully lowered to 925°C due to the formation of a LiF liquid phase. Their temperature stability was improved by doping with TiO2. A typical Li2MnO3-2 wt% LiF-5 wt% TiO2 sample with well-densified microstructures displayed optimum dielectric properties (εr=13.8, Q×f= 23,270 GHz, τf=1.2 ppm/°C). Such sample was compatible with Ag electrodes, which suggests suitability of the developed material for LTCC applications in wireless communication systems.  相似文献

The low sintering temperature and the good dielectric properties such as high dielectric constant (ɛr), high quality factor (Q × f) and small temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) are required for the application of chip passive components in the wireless communication technologies. In the present study, the sintering behaviors and dielectric properties of Ba3Ti4Nb4O21 ceramics were investigated as a function of B2O3–CuO content. Ba3Ti4Nb4O21 ceramics with B2O3 or CuO addition could be sintered above 1100 °C. However, the additions of both B2O3 and CuO successfully reduced the sintering temperature of Ba3Ti4Nb4O21 ceramics from 1350 to 900 °C without detriment to the microwave dielectric properties. From the X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies, the sintering behaviors and the microwave dielectric properties of low-fired Ba3Ti4Nb4O21 ceramics were examined and discussed in the formation of the secondary phases. The Ba3Ti4Nb4O21 sample with 1 wt% B2O3 and 3 wt% CuO addition, sintered at 900 °C for 2 h, had the good dielectric properties: ɛr = 65, Q × f = 16,000 GHz and τf = 101 ppm/°C.  相似文献

Low-loss novel Li4Mg3Ti2O9 dielectric ceramics with rock-salt structure were prepared by a conventional solid-state route. The crystalline structure, chemical bond properties, infrared spectroscopy and microwave dielectric properties of the abovementioned system were initially investigated. It could be concluded from this work that the extrinsic factors such as sintering temperatures and grain sizes significantly affected the dielectric properties of Li4Mg3Ti2O9 at lower sintering temperatures, while the intrinsic factors like bond ionicity and lattice energy played a dominant role when the ceramics were densified at 1450 °C. In order to explore the origin of intrinsic characteristics, complex dielectric constants (ε and ε’’) were calculated by the infrared spectra, which indicated that the absorptions of phonon oscillation predominantly effected the polarization of the ceramics. The Li4Mg3Ti2O9 ceramics sintered at 1450 °C exhibited excellent properties of εr=15.97, Q·f=135,800 GHz and τf=−7.06 ppm/°C. In addition, certain amounts of lithium fluoride (LiF) were added to lower the sintering temperatures of matrix. The Li4Mg3Ti2O9−3 wt% LiF ceramics sintered at 900 °C possessed suitable dielectric properties of εr=15.17, Q·f =42,800 GHz and τf=−11.30 ppm/°C, which made such materials promising for low temperature co-fired ceramic applications (LTCC).  相似文献

Willemite ceramics (Zn2SiO4) have been successfully prepared in the temperature range from 1280 to 1340 °C. It is found that willemite ceramics possess excellent millimeter-wave dielectric properties: a dielectric constant ɛr value of 6.6, a quality factor Q × f value of 219,000 GHz and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency τf value of −61 ppm/°C. By adding TiO2 with large positive τf value (450 ppm/°C), near zero τf value can be achieved in a wide sintering temperature range. With 11 wt% of TiO2, an ɛr value of 9.3, a Q × f value of 113,000 GHz, and a τf value of 1.0 ppm/°C are obtained at 1250 °C. The relationships between microstructure and properties are also studied. Our results show that willemite with appropriate TiO2 is an ideal temperature stable, low ɛr and high Q × f dielectric for millimeter-wave application.  相似文献

Novel monoclinic Bi2O3-xRE2O3-yMoO3 (RE=Pr, Nd, Sm, and Yb) based low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) systems with high sintering density and low microwave dielectric loss are synthesized by conventional solid state reaction technique. The structure and dielectric properties of Bi2O3-xRE2O3-yMoO3 ceramics are investigated. Dense BiNdMoO6 ceramics sintered at 900 °C for 8 h in air have a low dielectric constant εr=~7.5, a high quality factor Q×f=~ 24, 800 GHz at 7.0 GHz, and τf=~−16 ppm/̊C. Especially, good chemical compatibility of BiNdMoO6 with Ag electrodes is represented as well. In contrast, BiSmMoO6 ceramics sintered at 1000 °C for 8 h show enhanced Q×f=~43, 700 GHz at 7.8 GHz with εr=~8.5 and τf=~−27 ppm/°C. Bi2O3-xRE2O3-yMoO3 (RE=Pr, Nd, Sm, and Yb) based ceramics could be considered as promising microwave ceramics for LTCC applications.  相似文献

In this work, a series of low-temperature-firing (1−x)Mg2SiO4xLi2TiO3–8 wt% LiF (x = 35–85 wt%) microwave dielectric ceramics was prepared through conventional solid state reaction. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses showed that the Li2TiO3 phase was transformed into cubic phase LiTiO2 phase and secondary phase Li2TiSiO5. Partial substitution of Mg2+ ions for Ti3+ ions or Li+Ti3+ ions increased the cell volume of the LiTiO2 phase. The dense microstructures were obtained in low Li2TiO3 content (x ≤ 65 wt%) samples sintered at 900 °C, whereas the small quantity of pores presented in high Li2TiO3 content (x ≥ 75 wt%) samples sintered at 900 °C and low Li2TiO3 content (x = 45 wt%) sintered at 850 and 950 °C. Samples at x = 45 wt% under sintering at 900 °C for 4 h showed excellent microwave dielectric properties of εr = 10.7, high Q × f = 237,400 GHz and near-zero τf = − 3.0 ppm/°C. The ceramic also exhibited excellent chemical compatibility with Ag. Thus, the fabricated material could be a possible candidate for low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) applications.  相似文献

The B2O3 added Ba(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 (BBZN) ceramic was sintered at 900 °C. BaB4O7, BaB2O4, and BaNb2O6 second phases were found in the BBZN ceramic. Since BaB4O7 and BaB2O4 second phases have an eutectic temperature around 900 °C, they might exist as the liquid phase during sintering at 900 °C and assist the densification of the BZN ceramics. Microwave dielectric properties of dielectric constant (ɛr) = 32, Q × f = 3500 GHz, and temperature coefficient of resonance frequency (τf) = 20 ppm/°C were obtained for the BZN with 5.0 mol% B2O3 sintered at 900 °C for 2 h. The BBZN ceramics were not sintered below 900 °C and the microwave dielectric properties of the BBZN ceramics sintered at 900 °C were very low. However, when CuO was added, BBZN ceramic was well sintered even at 875 °C. The liquid phase related to the BaCu(B2O5) second phase could be responsible for the decrease of sintering temperature. Good microwave dielectric properties of ɛr = 36, Q × f = 19,000 GHz and τf = 21 ppm/°C can be obtained for CuO doped BBZN ceramics sintered at 875 °C for 2 h.  相似文献

CuO modified Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3–Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–PbTiO3 (PIN–PMN–PT) ternary relaxor based ferroelectrics with the composition near the morphotropic phase boundary were synthesized by two-step columbite precursor method. The introduction of CuO significantly improved the sinterability of PIN–PMN–PT ceramics, resulting in the full densification of samples at lower sintering temperatures. It also profoundly modified the crystal structure and fracture mode of the ceramics. Properly increasing CuO content led to the disappearance of rhombohedral-tetragonal phase transition, remarkably improved the Curie temperature (Tc), and made the ceramics more relaxorlike. The ternary ceramics doped with 0.25 wt% CuO possessed optimum piezoelectric properties (d33=584 pC/N, d33*=948 pC/N, and kp=0.68), high ferroelectric properties (Ec=9.9 kV/cm, and Pr=33.1 μC/cm2), low dielectric loss (tan δ=0.9%), and wider temperature usage range (Tc=225 °C). The obtained properties are much higher than those of previously reported PIN–PMN–PT based ceramics, indicating that CuO doped PIN–PMN–PT is a promising candidate for electromechanical applications with high performance and wide temperature/electric field usage ranges.  相似文献

0.87(Mg0.7Zn0.3)TiO3–0.13(Ca0.61La0.26)TiO3 (referred to as 87MZCLT) ceramics were prepared by microwave sintering and conventional sintering. The experimental results demonstrated that the sintering cycle of 87MZCLT ceramics was greatly shortened and the impurity phase (Mg0.7Zn0.3)Ti2O5 was eliminated by microwave sintering. Moreover, the 87MZCLT ceramics prepared by microwave sintering show more uniform, fine-grained microstructure as well as much less Zn evaporation. As a result, the quality factor was increased by 40% compared with conventional sintering. All samples were sintered at 1275 °C for 20 min with heating and cooling rate of 15 °C/min and gave excellent microwave dielectric properties: ?r = 26.21, Q × f = 120,000 GHz, τf = ?3 ppm/°C.  相似文献

Porous acicular mullite (3Al2O3·2SiO2) ceramics containing Cu3Mo2O9 as a soot oxidation catalyst was fabricated by a novel approach using commercial powders of Al2O3 and CuO, and powder obtained by controlled oxidation of ground waste MoSi2. The obtained material consisted of elongated mullite grains which are known to be effective in carbon soot removal from diesel engine exhaust. The presence of in situ created Cu3Mo2O9 was found to catalyze the carbon burnout which is an extremely important feature when it comes to filter regeneration, i.e., the captured soot removal. The carbon burnout temperature in the sample containing 12 wt% CuO was by 90 °C lower than that in the sample without CuO. Effect of sintering temperature as well as the effect of amount of CuO additive on mullite properties were studied. It was found that the increase in amount of CuO in samples sintered at 1300 °C decreased porosity and increased compressive strength of the porous mullite ceramics. The addition of 12 wt% CuO increased the strength of the porous mullite ceramics up to 70 MPa, whereas the porosity was reduced from 62% in the mullite without CuO to 44% in the mullite ceramics containing 12 wt% CuO. Although affected by the amount of CuO, the microstructure still consisted of elongated mullite grains.  相似文献

The microwave dielectric properties of LiNb3O8 ceramics were investigated as a function of the sintering temperature and the amount of TiO2 additive. LiNb3O8 ceramics, which were calcined at 750 °C and sintered at 1075 °C for 2 h, showed a dielectric constant (ɛr) of 34, a quality factor (Q × f0) of 58,000 GHz and a temperature coefficient of resonance frequency (τf) of −96 ppm/°C, respectively. The density of the samples influenced the properties of these properties. As the TiO2 content increased in the LiNb3O8–TiO2 system, ɛr and τf of the material were increased due to the mixing effect of TiO2 phase, which has higher dielectric constant and larger positive τf. The 0.65LiNb3O8–0.35TiO2 ceramics showed a dielectric constant ɛr of 46.2, a quality factor (Q × f0) of 5800 GHz and a temperature coefficient of resonance frequency τf of near to 0 ppm/°C.  相似文献

Li2O–Nb2O5–TiO2 based ceramic systems have been the candidate materials for LTCC application, due to their high dielectric constant and Q × f value and controllable temperature coefficient in the microwave region. However, the sintering temperature was relatively higher (above 1100 °C) for practical application. In this study, dielectric properties of Li(1+xy)Nb(1−x−3y)Ti(x+4y)O3 solid solution were studied with different x and y contents and among them, the Li1.0Nb0.6Ti0.5O3 composition (x = 0.1, y = 0.1) was selected, due to its reasonable dielectric properties to determine the possibility of low temperature sintering. The effects of 0.17Li2O–0.83V2O5, as a sintering agent, on sinterability and microwave dielectric properties of Li1.0Nb0.6Ti0.5O3 ceramics were investigated as a function of the sintering agent content and sintering temperature. With addition of 0.17Li2O–0.83V2O5 above 0.5 wt%, the specimens were well densified at a relatively lower temperature of 850 °C. Only slight decrease in apparent density was observed with increasing 0.17Li2O–0.83V2O5 content above 0.75 wt%. In the case of 0.5 wt% 0.17Li2O–0.83V2O5 addition, the values of dielectric constant and Q × f reached maximum. Further addition caused inferior microstructure, resulting in degraded dielectric properties. For the specimens with 0.5 wt% 0.17Li2O–0.83V2O5 sintered at 850 °C, dielectric constant, Q × f and TCF values were 64.7, 5933 GHz and 9.4 ppm per °C, respectively.  相似文献
