基于光测弹性学中测量残余应力的基本理论,提出应用纵向电光调制器测量透明半透明材料残余应力的新方法。材料的残余应力会使通过材料后的线偏光产生相位延迟,而纵向电光调制器可以精确地调节线偏光的相位延迟,合理利用调节电光位相延迟补偿由残余应力引起的相位延迟,通过对调制电压的精确测量就能达到精确测量材料残余应力的目的。对两种标准聚碳酸酯的测量实验表明,采用这种方法测量物质残余应力装置简单,测量方便.且对残余应力的测量灵敏度容易达到λ/1000。  相似文献

High performance electro-optic modulator, as the key device of integrated ultra-wideband optical systems, have become the focus of research. Meanwhile, the organic-based hybrid electro-optic modulators, which make full use of the advantages of organic electro-optic (OEO) materials (e.g. high electro-optic coefficient, fast response speed, high bandwidth, easy processing/integration and low cost) have attracted considerable attention. In this paper, we introduce a series of high-performance OEO materials that exhibit good properties in electro-optic activity and thermal stability. In addition, the recent progress of organic-based hybrid electro-optic devices is reviewed, including photonic crystal-organic hybrid (PCOH), silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) and plasmonic-organic hybrid (POH) modulators. A high-performance integrated optical platform based on OEO materials is a promising solution for growing high speeds and low power consumption in compact sizes.  相似文献

设计、制作并测试了1.55 m 光波长的微带线行波电极电光调制器。如果聚合物材料的电光系数33=30 pm/V,中心电极L 为20 mm,设计的调制器性能参数半波电压为6.70 V。用自主合成的发色团分子组成二阶非线性光学聚合物材料做为芯层制作的聚合物调制器,对调制器的各项性能参数进行了直流、低频和微波性能的测试,采用不同极化方法,在1.55 m 波长上测得低频半波电压分别为10.5 V(电晕极化)和4.9 V(接触极化),折算得芯层材料的电光系数分别为21 pm/V 和45 pm/V。测得消光比为24 dB。用矢量网络分析仪测试电极系统的微波性能,S 参数反映了此电极系统具有低的微波传输损耗和反射损耗。  相似文献

We have developed several direct-write laser processing techniques to masklessly fabricate prototypes of waveguiding devices in GaAs/AlGaAs substrates. This flexible technology allows the rapid, successive fabrication and testing of devices such as modulators. Previously, we had reported use of this technology to fabricate low-loss single-mode passive waveguiding structures and devices. In this paper, we report the fabrication of active electro-optic modulators. These devices include an electro-optic polarization modulator, an integrated amplitude modulator consisting of a polarization modulator and an on-chip polarizer, and an integrated Mach-Zehnder interferometer  相似文献

Design criteria for relative-phase optical-waveguide modulators are established for single-crystal thin films of zinc sulphide grown on silicon. It is found that the minimum guide length is limited by voltage breakdown to 2 mm while for high frequency applications, because of the leaky nature of the guiding region, the maximum available length and thickness of zinc sulphide are the limiting factors.  相似文献

We present some optical signal processing methods for optical time-division multiplexing, based on electro-optic modulators. Dual-parallel Mach–Zehnder modulator and time-lens-based signal processing for optical frequency comb generation, optical Nyquist pulse generation and time-domain demultiplexing are realized. Multifunctional optoelectronic oscillators which are capable of performing simultaneous electrical clock recovery, optical clock recovery and demultiplexing are demonstrated with modulators embedded as the key components.  相似文献

We demonstrate the first integration of active electronic devices with semiconductor waveguide modulators. By combining ion-implanted GaAs MESFET amplifiers with directional-coupler electro-optic modulators, the DC drive voltage has been reduced by a factor of ?v = 9, making an effective electro-optic figure-of-merit ?vn3r41 for GaAs superior to that of LiNbO3  相似文献

A high-speed Gray-binary code convertor (g.b.c.) using electro-optic light modulators, which translates all bits of Gray code into binary code simultaneously, and a binary-Gray code convertor, which translates binary into Gray code, are described.
