759 post-menopausal women (41-80 years old), 175 with and 584 without vertebral fracture, were studied by quantitative bone sonography and densitometry of the distal radius in order to evaluate the ability of ultrasound transmission velocity (UTV) to separate fractured from healthy women independently of bone mineral density (BMD) and to test the possibility of improving the discriminant ability of BMD by the simultaneous use of UTV. A second BMD measurement was made at the mid radial shaft. Both BMD and UTV were higher in healthy subjects than in fractured women; the latter being older, shorter and having a longer postmenopausal status. On logistic regression, standardized for 1 SD from the mean value of healthy women, UTV differentiated between healthy and fractured subjects after correction for BMD. UTV was also a significant predictor of fracture in a selected subgroup of healthy and fractured women paired for BMD (144 pairs). In this same subgroup, the difference in UTV between fractured and healthy women regression lines was related to elasticity (E) variation between pairs. Simultaneously evaluating BMD and UTV as fracture predictors, logistic regression showed an odds ratio that was twice that of each predictor alone and 1.2 times higher than that derived from the simultaneous evaluation of two different BMD predictors. These data confirmed that UTV differentiates between healthy and fractured women both as well as and independent of BMD. In addition, UTV separated fractured from healthy BMD matched women by measuring non mass related differences. The simultaneous use of BMD and UTV improved the discriminant ability of each of them alone and of two simultaneous measurements of BMD detected at different skeletal sites. 相似文献

为了研究热风循环风机轴失效形式、影响因素和预防措施,改善相关金属零部件质量,提高设备安全性和可靠性。针对某铝合金热处理设备中的热风循环风机轴断裂失效问题,采用化学成分分析、力学性能测试、金相检验、SEM检验、有限元法等技术手段,分析了风机轴断裂失效的原因,并提出了针对性的预防与改进措施。结果表明,热风循环风机轴的断裂形式为低名义应力和轻微应力集中情况下的旋转弯曲疲劳断裂,维修时的焊接加工缺陷以及轴肩附近直径的阶梯变化,造成了不同程度的应力集中,降低了材料的疲劳寿命,最终导致了轴断裂失效。 相似文献

Rhode Island Red female chicks were subjected to complete closed fracture of the right radius at 2 weeks post-hatching. The animals were allowed to heal for 1 week at either earth gravity or 2 G hypergravity state with control and estrogen-injected groups. Intact and fractured radial length, weight, average epiphysial-diaphysial diameters, and length, width, and weight of healing fracture callus were measured. Daily 2000 IU estrogen administration for 7 d increased intact radial length. Estrogen augments the effects of the 2-G state by inhibiting growth and depleting the mass of both intact and fractured radii and by decreasing the average distal epiphysial diameter of fractured bones. Animals exposed to the hypergravity state without hormonal treatment showed decreased fractured radial length, weight, and smaller proximal epiphysial diameters. The measurable parameters of the fracture callus (width, length, and weight) were depressed by the hypergravity state regardless of whether the animal was untreated or supplemented with estrogen. 相似文献
