Fe2O3 is regarded as a promising anode material for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) due to its high specific capacity. The large volume change during discharge and charge processes, however, induces significant cracking of the Fe2O3 anodes, leading to rapid fading of the capacity. Herein, a novel peapod‐like nanostructured material, consisting of Fe2O3 nanoparticles homogeneously encapsulated in the hollow interior of N‐doped porous carbon nanofibers, as a high‐performance anode material is reported. The distinctive structure not only provides enough voids to accommodate the volume expansion of the pea‐like Fe2O3 nanoparticles but also offers a continuous conducting framework for electron transport and accessible nanoporous channels for fast diffusion and transport of Li/Na‐ions. As a consequence, this peapod‐like structure exhibits a stable discharge capacity of 1434 mAh g?1 (at 100 mA g?1) and 806 mAh g?1 (at 200 mA g?1) over 100 cycles as anode materials for LIBs and SIBs, respectively. More importantly, a stable capacity of 958 mAh g?1 after 1000 cycles and 396 mAh g?1 after 1500 cycles can be achieved for LIBs and SIBs, respectively, at a large current density of 2000 mA g?1. This study provides a promising strategy for developing long‐cycle‐life LIBs and SIBs.  相似文献

High energy density is the major demand for next‐generation rechargeable batteries, while the intrinsic low alkali metal adsorption of traditional carbon–based electrode remains the main challenge. Here, the mechanochemical route is proposed to prepare nitrogen doped γ‐graphyne (NGY) and its high capacity is demonstrated in lithium (LIBs)/sodium (SIBs) ion batteries. The sample delivers large reversible Li (1037 mAh g?1) and Na (570.4 mAh g?1) storage capacities at 100 mA g?1 and presents excellent rate capabilities (526 mAh g?1 for LIBs and 180.2 mAh g?1 for SIBs) at 5 A g?1. The superior Li/Na storage mechanisms of NGY are revealed by its 2D morphology evolution, quantitative kinetics, and theoretical calculations. The effects on the diffusion barriers (Eb) and adsorption energies (Ead) of Li/Na atoms in NGY are also studied and imine‐N is demonstrated to be the ideal doping format to enhance the Li/Na storage performance. Besides, the Li/Na adsorption routes in NGY are optimized according to the experimental and the first‐principles calculation results. This work provides a facile way to fabricate high capacity electrodes in LIBs/SIBs, which is also instructive for the design of other heteroatomic doped electrodes.  相似文献

The design and construction of flexible electrodes that can function at high rates and high areal capacities are essential regarding the practical application of flexible sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) and other energy storage devices, which remains significantly challenging by far. Herein, a flexible and 3D porous graphene nanosheet/SnS2 (3D‐GNS/SnS2) film is reported as a high‐performance SIB electrode. In this hybrid film, the GNS/SnS2 microblocks serve as pillars to assemble into a 3D porous and interconnected framework, enabling fast electron/ion transport; while the GNS bridges the GNS/SnS2 microblocks into a flexible framework to provide satisfactorily mechanical strength and long‐range conductivity. Moreover, the SnS2 nanocrystals, which chemically bond with GNS, provide sufficient active sites for Na storage and ensure the cycling stability. Consequently, this flexible 3D‐GNS/SnS2 film exhibits excellent Na‐storage performances, especially in terms of high areal capacity (2.45 mAh cm?2) and high rates with superior stability (385 mAh g?1 at 1.0 A g?1 over 1000 cycles with ≈100% retention). A flexible SIB full cell using this anode exhibits high and stable performance under various bending situations. Thus, this work provide a feasible route to prepare flexible electrodes with high practical viability for not only SIBs but also other energy storage devices.  相似文献

Exploitation of high‐performance anode materials is essential but challenging to the development of sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). Among all proposed anode materials for SIBs, sulfides have been proved promising candidates due to their unique chemical and physical properties. In this work, a facile solvothermal method to in situ decorate cobalt sulfide (CoS) nanoplates on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) to build CoS@rGO composite is described. When evaluated as anode for SIBs, an impressive high specific capacity (540 mAh g?1 at 1 A g?1), excellent rate capability (636 mAh g?1 at 0.1 A g?1 and 306 mAh g?1 at 10 A g?1), and extraordinarily cycle stability (420 mAh g?1 at 1 A g?1 after 1000 cycles) have been demonstrated by CoS@rGO composite for sodium storage. The synergetic effect between the CoS nanoplates and rGO matrix contributes to the enhanced electrochemical performance of the hybrid composite. The results provide a facile approach to fabricate promising anode materials for high‐performance SIBs.  相似文献

Currently, the specific capacity and cycling performance of various MoS2/carbon‐based anode materials for Na‐ion storage are far from satisfactory due to the insufficient structural stability of the electrode, incomplete protection of MoS2 by carbon, difficult access of electrolyte to the electrode interior, as well as inactivity of the adopted carbon matrix. To address these issues, this work presents the rational design and synthesis of 3D interconnected and hollow nanocables composed of multiwalled carbon@MoS2@carbon. In this architecture, (i) the 3D nanoweb‐like structure brings about excellent mechanical property of the electrode, (ii) the ultrathin MoS2 nanosheets are sandwiched between and doubly protected by two layers of porous carbon, (iii) the hollow structure of the primary nanofibers facilitates the access of electrolyte to the electrode interior, (iv) the porous and nitrogen‐doping properties of the two carbon materials lead to synergistic Na‐storage of carbon and MoS2. As a result, this hybrid material as the anode material of Na‐ion battery exhibits fast charge‐transfer reaction, high utilization efficiency, and ultrastability. Outstanding reversible capacity (1045 mAh g?1), excellent rate behavior (817 mAh g?1 at 7000 mA g?1), and good cycling performance (747 mAh g?1 after 200 cycles at 700 mA g?1) are obtained.  相似文献

Improving volumetric energy density is one of the major challenges in nanostructured carbon electrodes for electrochemical energy storage device applications. Herein, a simple hydrothermal oxidation process of single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) networks in dilute nitric acid is reported, enabling simultaneous physical densification and chemical functionalization of the as‐assembled randomly‐packed SWNT films. After the hydrothermal oxidation process, the density of the SWNT films increases from 0.63 to 1.02 g cm?3 and a considerable amount of redox‐active oxygen functional groups are introduced on the surface of the SWNTs. The functionalized SWNT films are used as positive electrodes against Li metal negative electrodes for potential Li‐ion capacitors or Li‐ion battery applications. The functionalized SWNT electrodes deliver high volumetric as well as gravimetric capacities, 154 Ah L?1 and 152 mAh g?1, respectively, owing to the surface redox reactions between the introduced oxygen functional groups and Li ions. In addition, these electrodes exhibit a remarkable rate‐capability by retaining its high capacity of 94 Ah L?1 (92 mAh g?1) at a high discharge rate of 10 A g?1. These results demonstrate the simple hydrothermal oxidation process as an attractive strategy for improving the volumetric performance of nanostructured carbon electrodes.  相似文献

SnO2 has been considered as a promising anode material for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium ion batteries (SIBs), but challenging as well for the low‐reversible conversion reaction and coulombic efficiency. To address these issues, herein, SnO2 quantum dots (≈5 nm) embedded in porous N‐doped carbon matrix (SnO2/NC) are developed via a hydrothermal step combined with a self‐polymerization process at room temperature. The ultrasmall size in quantum dots can greatly shorten the ion diffusion distance and lower the internal strain, improving the conversion reaction efficiency and coulombic efficiency. The rich mesopores/micropores and highly conductive N‐doped carbon matrix can further enhance the overall conductivity and buffer effect of the composite. As a result, the optimized SnO2/NC‐2 composite for LIBs exhibits a high coulombic efficiency of 72.9%, a high discharge capacity of 1255.2 mAh g?1 at 0.1 A g?1 after 100 cycles and a long life‐span with a capacity of 753 mAh g?1 after 1500 cycles at 1 A g?1. The SnO2/NC‐2 composite also displays excellent performance for SIBs, delivering a superior discharge capacity of 212.6 mAh g?1 at 1 A g?1 after 3000 cycles. These excellent results can be of visible significance for the size effect of the uniform quantum dots.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted great interest for large‐scale electric energy storage in recent years. However, anodes with long cycle life and large reversible capacities are still lacking and therefore limiting the development of SIBs. Here, a bulk Bi anode with surprisingly high Na storage performance in combination with glyme‐based electrolytes is reported. This study shows that the bulk Bi electrode is gradually developed into a porous integrity during initial cycling, which is totally different from that in carbonate‐based electrolytes and ensures facile Na+ transport and structural stability. The achievable capacity of bulk Bi in the NaPF6‐diglyme electrolyte is high up to 400 mAh g?1, and the capacity retention is 94.4% after 2000 cycles, corresponding to a capacity loss of 0.0028% per cycle. It exhibits two flat discharge/charge plateaus at 0.67/0.77 and 0.46/0.64 V, ascribed to the typical two‐phase reactions of Bi ? NaBi and NaBi ? Na3Bi, respectively. The excellent performance is attributed to the unique porous integrity, stable solid electrolyte interface, and good electrode wettability of glymes. This interplay between electrolyte and electrode to boost Na storage performance will pave a new pathway for high‐performance SIBs.  相似文献

In an effort to develop high‐energy‐density cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), low‐cost, high capacity Na(Li1/3Mn2/3)O2 is discovered, which utilizes the labile O 2p‐electron for charge compensation during the intercalation process, inspired by Li2MnO3 redox reactions. Na(Li1/3Mn2/3)O2 is systematically designed by first‐principles calculations considering the Li/Na mixing enthalpy based on the site preference of Na in the Li sites of Li2MnO3. Using the anionic redox reaction (O2?/O?), this Mn‐oxide is predicted to show high redox potentials (≈4.2 V vs Na/Na+) with high charge capacity (190 mAh g?1). Predicted cathode performance is validated by experimental synthesis, characterization, and cyclic performance studies. Through a fundamental understanding of the redox reaction mechanism in Li2MnO3, Na(Li1/3Mn2/3)O2 is designed as an example of a new class of promising cathode materials, Na(Li1/3M2/3)O2 (M: transition metals featuring stabilized M4+), for further advances in SIBs.  相似文献

In this work, hydroxyl‐functionalized Mo2C‐based MXene nanosheets are synthesized by facilely removing the Sn layer of Mo2SnC. The hydroxyl‐functionalized surface of Mo2C suppresses the shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) through strong interaction between Mo atoms on the MXenes surface and LiPSs. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are further introduced into Mo2C phase to enlarge the specific surface area of the composite, improve its electronic conductivity, and alleviate the volume change during discharging/charging. The strong surface‐bound sulfur in the hierarchical Mo2C‐CNTs host can lead to a superior electrochemical performance in lithium–sulfur batteries. A large reversible capacity of ≈925 mAh g ? 1 is observed after 250 cycles at a current density of 0.1 C (1 C = 1675 mAh g?1) with good rate capability. Notably, the electrodes with high loading amounts of sulfur can also deliver good electrochemical performances, i.e., initial reversible capacities of ≈1314 mAh g?1 (2.4 mAh cm?2), ≈1068 mAh g?1 (3.7 mAh cm?2), and ≈959 mAh g?1 (5.3 mAh cm?2) at various areal loading amounts of sulfur (1.8, 3.5, and 5.6 mg cm?2) are also observed, respectively.  相似文献

Antimony is a competitive and promising anode material for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) due to its high theoretical capacity. However, the poor rate capability and fast capacity fading greatly restrict its practical application. To address the above issues, a facile and eco‐friendly sacrificial template method is developed to synthesize hollow Sb nanoparticles impregnated in open carbon boxes (Sb HPs@OCB). The as‐obtained Sb HPs@OCB composite exhibits excellent sodium storage properties even when operated at an elevated temperature of 50 °C, delivering a robust rate capability of 345 mAh g?1 at 16 A g?1 and rendering an outstanding reversible capacity of 187 mAh g?1 at a high rate of 10 A g?1 after 300 cycles. Such superior electrochemical performance of the Sb HPs@OCB can be attributed to the comprehensive characteristics of improved kinetics derived from hollow Sb nanoparticles impregnated into 2D carbon nanowalls, the existence of robust Sb? O? C bond, and enhanced pseudocapacitive behavior. All those factors enable Sb HPs@OCB great potential and distinct merit for large‐scale energy storage of SIBs.  相似文献

Novel nitrogen doped (N‐doped) hollow beaded structural composite carbon nanofibers are successfully applied for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). Tungsten disulfide (WS2) nanosheets are confined, through synergistic anchoring, on the surface and inside of hollow beaded carbon nanofibers (HB CNFs) via a hydrothermal reaction method to construct the hierarchical structure HB WS2@CNFs. Benefiting from this unique advantage, HB WS2@CNFs exhibits remarkable lithium‐storage performance in terms of high rate capability (≈351 mAh g?1 at 2 A g?1) and stable long‐term cycle (≈446 mAh g?1 at 1 A g?1 after 100 cycles). Moreover, as an anode material for SIBs, HB WS2@CNFs obtains excellent long cycle life and rate performance. During the charging/discharging process, the evolution of morphology and composition of the composite are analyzed by a set of ex situ methods. This synergistic anchoring effect between WS2 nanosheets and HB CNFs is capable of effectively restraining volume expansion from the metal ions intercalation/deintercalation process and improving the cycling stability and rate performance in LIBs and SIBs.  相似文献

Yolk–shell NiO microspheres are modified by two types of functionalized graphene quantum dots (denoted as NiO/GQDs) via a facile solvothermal treatment. The modification of GQDs on the surface of NiO greatly boosts the stability of the NiO/GQD electrode during long‐term cycling. Specifically, the NiO with carboxyl‐functionalized GQDs (NiO/GQDs? COOH) exhibits better performances than NiO with amino‐functionalized GQDs (NiO/GQDs? NH2). It delivers a capacity of ≈1081 mAh g?1 (NiO contribution: ≈1182 mAh g?1) after 250 cycles at 0.1 A g?1. In comparison, NiO/GQDs? NH2 electrode holds ≈834 mAh g?1 of capacity, while the bald NiO exhibits an obvious decline in capacity with ≈396 mAh g?1 retained after cycling. Except for the yolk–shell and mesoporous merits, the superior performances of the NiO/GQD electrode are mainly ascribed to the assistance of GQDs. The GQD modification can support as a buffer alleviating the volume change, improve the electronic conductivity, and act as a reservoir for electrolytes to facilitate the transportation of Li+. Moreover, the enrichment of carboxyl/amino groups on GQDs can further donate more active sites for the diffusion of Li+ and facilitate the electrochemical redox kinetics of the electrode, thus together leading to the superior lithium storage performance.  相似文献

As one of the most promising cathodes for rechargeable sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs), O3‐type layered transition metal oxides commonly suffer from inevitably complicated phase transitions and sluggish kinetics. Here, a Na[Li0.05Ni0.3Mn0.5Cu0.1Mg0.05]O2 cathode material with the exposed {010} active facets by multiple‐layer oriented stacking nanosheets is presented. Owing to reasonable geometrical structure design and chemical substitution, the electrode delivers outstanding rate performance (71.8 mAh g?1 and 16.9 kW kg?1 at 50C), remarkable cycling stability (91.9% capacity retention after 600 cycles at 5C), and excellent compatibility with hard carbon anode. Based on the combined analyses of cyclic voltammograms, ex situ X‐ray absorption spectroscopy, and operando X‐ray diffraction, the reaction mechanisms behind the superior electrochemical performance are clearly articulated. Surprisingly, Ni2+/Ni3+ and Cu2+/Cu3+ redox couples are simultaneously involved in the charge compensation with a highly reversible O3–P3 phase transition during charge/discharge process and the Na+ storage is governed by a capacitive mechanism via quantitative kinetics analysis. This optimal bifunctional regulation strategy may offer new insights into the rational design of high‐performance cathode materials for SIBs.  相似文献

Owing to high energy capacities, transition metal chalcogenides have drawn significant research attention as the promising electrode materials for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). However, limited cycle life and inferior rate capabilities still hinder their practical application. Improvement of the intrinsic conductivity by smart choice of elemental combination along with carbon coupling of the nanostructures may result in excellence of rate capability and prolonged cycling stability. Herein, a hierarchically porous binary transition metal selenide (Fe2CoSe4, termed as FCSe) nanomaterial with improved intrinsic conductivity was prepared through an exclusive methodology. The hierarchically porous structure, intimate nanoparticle–carbon matrix contact, and better intrinsic conductivity result in extraordinary electrochemical performance through their synergistic effect. The synthesized FCSe exhibits excellent rate capability (816.3 mA h g?1 at 0.5 A g?1 and 400.2 mA h g?1 at 32 A g?1), extended cycle life (350 mA h g?1 even after 5000 cycles at 4 A g?1), and adequately high energy capacity (614.5 mA h g?1 at 1 A g?1 after 100 cycles) as anode material for SIBs. When further combined with lab‐made Na3V2(PO4)3/C cathode in Na‐ion full cells, FCSe presents reasonably high and stable specific capacity.  相似文献

Carbonaceous materials as anodes usually exhibit low capacity for lithium ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium ion batteries (SIBs). Oxygen‐doped carbonaceous materials have the potential of high capacity and super rate performance. However, up to now, the reported oxygen‐doped carbonaceous materials usually exhibit inferior electrochemical performance. To overcome this problem, a high reactive oxygen‐doped 3D interdigital porous carbonaceous material is designed and synthesized through epitaxial growth method and used as anodes for LIBs and SIBs. It delivers high reversible capacity, super rate performance, and long cycling stability (473 mA h g?1after 500 cycles for LIBs and 223 mA h g?1 after 1200 cycles for SIBs, respectively, at the current density of 1000 mA g?1), with a capacity decay of 0.0214% per cycle for LIBs and 0.0155% per cycle for SIBs. The results demonstrate that constructing 3D interdigital porous structure with reactive oxygen functional groups can significantly enhance the electrochemical performance of oxygen‐doped carbonaceous material.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) are considered promising next‐generation energy storage devices. However, a lack of appropriate high‐performance anode materials has prevented further improvements. Here, a hierarchical porous hybrid nanosheet composed of interconnected uniform TiO2 nanoparticles and nitrogen‐doped graphene layer networks (TiO2@NFG HPHNSs) that are synthesized using dual‐functional C3N4 nanosheets as both the self‐sacrificing template and hybrid carbon source is reported. These HPHNSs deliver high reversible capacities of 146 mA h g?1 at 5 C for 8000 cycles, 129 mA h g?1 at 10 C for 20 000 cycles, and 116 mA h g?1 at 20 C for 10 000 cycles, as well as an ultrahigh rate capability up to 60 C with a capacity of 101 mA h g?1. These results demonstrate the longest cyclabilities and best rate capability ever reported for TiO2‐based anode materials for SIBs. The unprecedented sodium storage performance of the TiO2@NFG HPHNSs is due to their unique composition and hierarchical porous 2D structure.  相似文献

Heteroatom‐doped carbon materials with expanded interlayer distance have been widely studied as anodes for sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). However, it remains unexplored to further enlarge the interlayer spacing and reveal the influence of heteroatom doping on carbon nanostructures for developing more efficient SIB anode materials. Here, a series of N‐rich few‐layer graphene (N‐FLG) with tuneable interlayer distance ranging from 0.45 to 0.51 nm is successfully synthesized by annealing graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C3N4) under zinc catalysis and selected temperature (T = 700, 800, and 900 °C). More significantly, the correlation between N dopants and interlayer distance of resultant N‐FLG‐T highlights the effect of pyrrolic N on the enlargement of graphene interlayer spacing, due to its stronger electrostatic repulsion. As a consequence, N‐FLG‐800 achieves the optimal properties in terms of interlayer spacing, nitrogen configuration and electronic conductivity. When used as an anode for SIBs, N‐FLG‐800 shows remarkable Na+ storage performance with ultrahigh rate capability (56.6 mAh g?1 at 40 A g?1) and excellent long‐term stability (211.3 mAh g?1 at 0.5 A g?1 after 2000 cycles), demonstrating the effectiveness of material design.  相似文献

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is a promising anode for high performance sodium‐ion batteries due to high specific capacity, abundance, and low cost. However, poor cycling stability, low rate capability and unclear electrochemical reaction mechanism are the main challenges for MoS2 anode in Na‐ion batteries. In this study, molybdenum disulfide/carbon (MoS2/C) nanospheres are fabricated and used for Na‐ion battery anodes. MoS2/C nanospheres deliver a reversible capacity of 520 mAh g?1 at 0.1 C and maintain at 400 mAh g?1 for 300 cycles at a high current density of 1 C, demonstrating the best cycling performance of MoS2 for Na‐ion batteries to date. The high capacity is attributed to the short ion and electron diffusion pathway, which enables fast charge transfer and low concentration polarization. The stable cycling performance and high coulombic efficiency (~100%) of MoS2/C nanospheres are ascribed to (1) highly reversible conversion reaction of MoS2 during sodiation/desodiation as evidenced by ex‐situ X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and (2) the formation of a stable solid electrolyte interface (SEI) layer in fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) based electrolyte as demonstrated by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) measurements.  相似文献

Carbon materials are widely accepted as promising candidates for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) anodes due to their chemical stability and conductivity, while the capacity is still unsatisfactory. Here, this work reports the superhigh capacity Na storage through initiating fluorine chemistry (C F bonds) in carbon synthesized by the dehydrogenation and fluorination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon such as pitch. Experimental and theoretical investigations uncover that C F bonds exist at the form of dangling bonds (C Fx), which generates the coexistence of graphitic and defective nanodomains. It delivers a superhigh capacity of 450 mAh g−1, far surpassing most of current SIBs carbon anodes. Theoretical calculation attributes this performance to a new Na storage mechanism that Na can be accommodated in the form of cluster rather than a single ion at each host site with F-doping. This work highlights the significance of carbon material chemistry in establishing the novel ion storage manner in SIBs and other batteries.  相似文献
