A microcontroller-based portable electrocardiograph recorder

We describe a low cost portable Holter design that can be implemented with off-the-shelf components. The recorder is battery powered and includes a graphical display and keyboard. The recorder is capable of acquiring up to 48 hours of continuous electrocardiogram data at a sample rate of up to 250 Hz.

采用有限元方法分析含有各向异性、双各向同性以及双各向异性的复杂媒质目标的电磁散射问题.建立了具有通用形式的线性媒质——双各向异性媒质的有限元泛函公式,并推导了其有限元矩阵方程的具体表达式.通过对铁氧体球、手征球、等离子球和Ω媒质体等四类复杂媒质结构的数值分析,证明了本文给出的复杂媒质散射问题有限元分析方法的准确性以及通用性.     

电磁问题的改进型矩量法

本文提出了一种新型的矩量法求解技术－改进型矩量法。在对电磁问题的数值分析中，这一方法提供了一个有别于矩量法的新思路，也提供了一个减少所使用计算机内存和缩短计算时间的新途径，用这一理论方法计算了若干天线实例。其计算结果与已知公开发表的结果相比较，或与所加工硬件的实测结果相比较，一致性良好。     

Induced EM fields inside human bodies irradiated by EM waves of up to 500 MHz.

In this paper, the internal EM field and the specific absorption rate of EM energy induced inside human bodies by EM waves of up to 500 MHz are theoretically quantified based on a tensor integral equation method. Numerical results for a realistic model of a man of 177 cm high irradiated by EM waves of various frequencies and of vertical and horizontal polarizations are presented. The resonance phenomenon and the effect of body heterogeneity on the induced field are studied. Some theoretical results are compared with existing experimental results.     

Applying telepresence to education

This paper explores the application of telepresence principles to the design and development of selected education applications. The applications are described, and the main implications for telepresence principles are explored. The work reported suggests that the overriding concentration on quality or fidelity as the most important determinant of presence may be misplaced. Indeed there may be situations where high fidelity systems may actually reduce learning effectiveness. To fully understand and model such complex situations requires conceptual frameworks to help bridge theory and practice, a varied range of technologies from which to choose, and a set of design principles or heuristics to help build the most effective systems.

用MoM－CGM－FFT分析二维电磁散射问题

本文提出一种ＭｏＭ－ＣＧＭ－ＦＦＴ（矩量法－共轭梯度法－快速富立叶变换）的混合技术来分析任意截面和非均匀介质柱的做射问题。该方法是以等效电流作为未知函数进行求解。该方法适应世广，是一种求解电磁散射问题的简单途径。由于应用了ＣＧＭ－ＦＦＴ技术，降低了所需计算机内存和ＣＰＵ时间，可以有效地处理电子尺寸的柱体散射和非均匀介质柱的散射，本文给出的数据和准确结果相比较，吻合好。

The use of a compiler intermediate language called TDF should help towards the goal of shrink-wrapped software in the heterogeneous computing environments that lie beyond the PC     

An Application of the EM Algorithm to Degradation Modeling

We consider a class of degradation processes that can consist of distinct phases of behavior. In particular, the degradation rates could possibly increase or decrease in a non-smooth manner at some point in time when the underlying degradation process changes phase. To model the degradation path of a given device, we use an independent-increments stochastic process with a single unobserved change-point. Furthermore, we assume that the change- point varies randomly from device-to-device. The likelihood functions for such a model are analytically intractable, so in this paper we develop an EM algorithm for this model to obtain the maximum likelihood estimators efficiently. We demonstrate the applicability of the method using two different models, and present some computational results of our implementation.
