This paper deals with the vibration and the sensor signal noise of the eddy current testing (ECT) probe used for a defect detection of helical heating tubes in the fast breeder reactor “Monju”, developed in Japan. ECT probes are used for the detection of defects in a heating tube. The heating tube is composed of a helical tube and a straight tube because of their advantages of thermal efficiency and saving space. No vibrations of the ECT probe have been generated in usual straight heating tubes. However, vibrations of the ECT probe in the helical tube cause some noise and decrease the sensitivity of the ECT probe. The experiment was performed using a mock-up, and the noise characteristics of an ECT sensor mounted in an ECT probe were examined. The experimental results showed that the sensor signal noise during the insertion process of the ECT probe was higher than that of the return process, and vibrations of the insertion process had a certain emerging frequency. Attaching the long and flexible guide probe to the top of the ECT probe was an effective countermeasure against sensor signal noise. 相似文献

A method to measure temporal and spatial evolution of sheath in plasma immersion ion implantation (PIII) process is presented. A long Langmuir probe (Ф5 mm× Ф78 mm) with low bias is used to detect the sheath propagation and backup with time. The substrate made of A1 cylinder (Ф 20 mm×Ф 150 mm) is immersed in nitrogen and argon plasma induced by magnetron self-sustained discharge. The maximum sheath sizes, at different plasma densities under different discharge currents, are measured and compared. 相似文献

The essential role of zonal flow in the L-H transition and the suppression of turbulence have been studied with a long range correlation technique using Langmuir probe arrays in EAST tokamak.Two toroidally localized probe arrays are used to measure the zonal flow during L-H transition and H-L back transition.The energy ratio of the low frequency zonal flow to the total drift wave turbuletce is calculated.During ELM-free H mode,the energy ratio is higher than that in L mode,which reveals the important role of zonal flows in regulating turbulence amplitude in L-H transition. 相似文献

A newly designed divertor Langmuir probe diagnostic system has been installed in a rare closed divertor of the HL-2A tokamak and steadily operated for the study of divertor physics involved edge-localized mode mitigation, detachment and redistribution of heat flux, etc. Two sets of probe arrays including 274 probe tips were placed at two ports (approximately 180° separated toroidally), and the spatial and temporal resolutions of this measurement system could reach 6 mm and 1 μs, respectively. A novel design of the ceramic isolation ring can ensure reliable electrical insulation property between the graphite tip and the copper substrate plate where plasma impurities and the dust are deposited into the gaps for a long experimental time. Meanwhile, the condition monitoring and mode conversion between single and triple probe of the probe system could be conveniently implemented via a remote-control station. The preliminary experimental result shows that the divertor Langmuir probe system is capable of measuring the high spatiotemporal parameters involved the plasma density, electron temperature, particle flux as well as heat flux during the ELMy H-mode discharges. 相似文献

The influence of thermal aging on cast stainless steels used in JAEA's advanced thermal prototype reactor “Fugen” that were exposed to 275°C for about 15 years was investigated. The degree and mechanism of thermal embrittlement were evaluated on the basis of Charpy impact test results and the three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP) analysis of the microstructural changes in the spinodal decomposition using materials obtained from Fugen. The results revealed early signs of a thermal aging effect over a long period at the low temperature. 相似文献
