Electrical Design Considerations for Drilling Rigs

The following considerations in the selection and design of electrical apparatus for oil and gas well drilling rigs are discussed: 1) general rig environment and geographical environmental effects; 2) selection and/or verification of drilling motor torque requirements for draw works, rotary table, and pumps; 3) four quadrant (speed-torque) analysis for draw works and rotary table; 4) merits of application of three types of adjustable speed drives (Ward-Leonard, thyristor type dc converters and adjustable frequency inverters); and 5) general power distribution considerations such as generating capacity, voltage selection, fault calculations, system grounding, voltage and frequency dip, power factor, and harmonic currents.

Amorphous Alloys for Distribution Transformers: Design Considerations and Economic Impact

The use of amorphous ferromagnetic materials for the magnetic circuits of distribution transformers could reduce the losses associated with iron cores and result in substantial economic savings to utilities. The value of such savings obviously depends on the loss evaluation. Optimization calculations show that this value varies according to the transformer design. A comparative performance evaluation revealed the advantages and shortcomings of four different transformer designs and of different types of steel used to build the magnetic circuits. The paper finally gives a few design details of a pre-prototype distribution transformer, developed at IREQ, which has an amorphous-alloy magnetic circuit.     

Transient Phenomena in the Motor Control Electrical Distribution System

Some probable reasons behind the increasing occurrence of voltage escalations, arcing ground falls, and other phenomena that take place in the part of the distribution system containing motors and motor control are discussed. While this part of the typical power system is subject to the harmonic resonances and other voltage escalation phenomena occurring elsewhere, it has some unique components of its own.     

电容层析成像系统传感器优化设计及仿真

本文以8电极油水两相流电容层析成像系统为研究对象,针对图像重建的质量依赖于电容敏感场分布这一特性, 采用有限元的方法建立敏感场的数学模型,采用不等间距的方法完成了传感器场域的自动剖分和敏感场的数值计算。对决定传感器性能的结构参数进行选取,通过仿真分析确定了传感器的优化参数,从而使设计的传感器能够在缩小测量电容值的动态变化范围,减轻数据采集电路设计难度的同时,提高电容响应的灵敏度,改善传感器敏感场的分布,提高电容层析成像系统的性能。根据此优化参数设计和研制的电容传感器获得了较为理想的重建图像。

System Design Considerations when Using Computer-Independent Hardware

There is a need for industrial control system designs to be less dependent upon the implementation and source of the various elements within the system, including the control computer. However, a number of system design considerations confront the user of computer-independent industrial control hardware. Various software implications and organizational considerations are discussed, along with hardware organization parameters. Solutions to various software and system problems are proposed by applying the computer automated measurement and control (CAMAC) digital interface standard.

电机设计智能混合系统的研究

根据电机设计的特点和专家系统的局限性,提出并建立了电机设计智能混合系统ＥＭＤＩＳ。在该系统中,提出了用基于神经网络的类比法确定电机的主要尺寸和基于神经网络的电机设计经验知识表示方法。ＥＭＤＩＳ采用黑板结构,共有三种知识源,即基于规则的知识源、神经网络知识和程序知识源。其中神经网络知识源用于进行联想、类比和表示经验知识,基于规则的知识源用于电磁设计方案调整中的逻辑推理,程序知识源用于进行性能计算和优化设计。实例表明ＥＭＤＩＳ是成功的。
