注入锁定法布里-珀罗激光器的单模工作特性   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0

使用分布式反馈(DFB)激光器对法布里-珀罗(F-P)激光器进行单模注入锁定.通过改变F-P激光器的偏置电流,DFB激光器的输出功率以及两激光器间的波长失谐量,对注入锁定F-P激光器的光谱特性、功率特性以及频率响应特性进行实验分析.找出影响注入锁定F-P激光器稳定性的因素,并测量注入锁定F-P激光器的稳定锁定区;通过优化注人条件实现F-P激光器的高边模抑制比(SMSR)输出,最高可达55 dB;通过与自由运转F-P激光器比较,发现注入锁定可以明显抑制半导体激光器在高频调制下光谱的展宽.注入锁定后F-P激光器的3 dB调制带宽接近14 GHz.实验结果表明,通过合理设计光注入条件,注入锁定技术可以明显改善F-P激光器的光谱特性以及高频响应特性,并在高速光纤通信领域中得到广泛应用.  相似文献

给出了适于分析DFB激光器稳态特性的数值模型和分析振幅及频率调制响应特性的解析模型.研究了3相移DFB激光器的调制响应特性,并提出了一种能够快速精确得到DFB激光器多个模式解的新方法--矢量牛顿法.该方法将稳定的矢量法与精确的牛顿法结合,保证了求解质量.实践表明该方法非常适合于求解高度非线性方程的多解问题.用此方法,研究了3相移及简单DFB激光器的纵向光子浓度分布,纵模及调制响应特性.结果表明,3相移DFB具有与简单的DFB激光器同样好的调制响应特性,相移的引入在一定程度上抑制了纵向空间烧孔效应,并且有利于DFB激光器的单模输出.  相似文献

直接调制和外调制的半导体激光光源在现代光纤通信系统中有着重要的应用。首先介绍了应用于10 Gb/s接入网系统的直接调制AlGaInAs多量子阱DFB激光器。由于AlGaInAs量子阱的导带不连续性较大,因此基于该材料的半导体激光器具有良好的温度特性,其特征温度达到了88 K。同时,该直接调制激光器的3 dB小信号调制响应带宽超过15 GHz。随后介绍面向40 Gb/s干线传输系统的高速DFB激光器/EA调制器集成光源。该集成光源采用同一外延层集成方案,并采用Al2O3高速微波热沉进行了管芯级封装,在3 V反向偏压下获得大于13 dB的静态消光比,3 dB小信号调制带宽超过40 GHz。  相似文献

利用电弧放电对光纤Bragg光栅(FBG)折射率的调制作用,提出了基于折射率周期调制(CPM)FBG的单频窄线宽分布反馈(DFB)光纤激光器方案。建立了CPM-FBG的数学模型并进行了仿真,验证了CPM-FBG的相移光栅特性;在掺铒光纤(EDF)上制作出CPM-FBG,形成了DFB单频窄线宽光纤激光器,激光器阈值功率为25.4mW,3dB线宽为805Hz,边摸抑制比大于48.8dB。  相似文献

为了提高DFB激光器驱动电路的可靠性和稳定性,设计了一款基于波长调制光谱技术的DFB激光器驱动电路。压控恒流源电路能够完成对激光器的恒流驱动以及其波长的粗调。利用FPGA生成直接频率合成器产生幅值为5V,频率为20kHz的正弦信号和频率为20Hz的三角信号,其可以对激光器的波长进行调制和扫描,进而实现对激光器的波长进行精确调谐。然后利用QuartusII软件对激光器的驱动电路进行了仿真。最后,对激光器驱动电路进行了模拟实验,结果表明输出电流与输入电压成线性关系,输出的电流与负载无关,达到了预期的设计目标。  相似文献

为实现极端实验环境下脉冲辐射探测信号的远距离 传输,采用电光转换和光电转换的方法设计了 一套模拟光纤传输系统。该系统基于DFB激光器的强度直接调制特性实现了电光转换;以运 算放大器为主 体构建了激光器驱动电路;利用专用集成芯片MAX1968实现了激光器 半导体PN结的无死区温度控制。为 提高系统测试精度,光接收端采用带有暗电流校正的平衡PIN 前置放大器将光信号还原为电 信号,以提高 系统动态范围。最后,实验测试了系统性能指标。结果表明,系统的-3dB带宽为DC~155 MHz,线性动态 范围> 40 dB(100倍),输出噪声峰-峰值<3mV。该系 统适用于对传输带宽、安全性等要求高的科学研究中。  相似文献

提出了一种利用分布反馈DFB(Distributed Feedback laser)激光器的非线性对射频光传输系统动态范围进行优化的方案。实验研究了半导体分布反馈激光器的非线性,基于实验结果分析了DFB激光器的偏置电流与线性性能的关系。在此基础上建立了对马赫曾德外调制(Mach-Zehndermodulator,MZM)射频光传输系统线性优化方案。实验结果表明,该实验系统有效抑制了系统三阶交调量,系统的动态范围得到改善,当输入射频信号中心频率4 GHz,双音号间隔10 kHz时,三阶交调失真抑制23.1 dB,无杂散动态范围提高8.68 dB。  相似文献

报道了用于10Gbit/s传输的DFB激光器和EA调制器对接集成器件的设计、制作和器件特性.工作主要集中于两个方面:提高激光器和调制器间的光学耦合;通过减小调制器电容提高调制带宽.集成器件显示出了良好的静态和高频特性:阈值电流典型值为15mA,最小值为8mA;100mA激光器偏置电流下,输出功率大于10mW;对消光比、电学回波损耗和调制带宽进行了测试,3dB带宽的测量值超过10GHz.  相似文献

Transmission characteristics for a recently modulated measured distributed-feedbacked (DFB) laser and an externally modulated DFB laser using a Ti:LiNbO/sub 3/, Mach-Zehnder modulator at 4 Gb/s are discussed. The transmission characteristics are estimated by an advanced eye-pattern analysis method. The maximum measured fiber dispersion with a directly modulated laser is 100 to 140 ps/nm when the chirp power penalty is 1 dB. However, for external modulation, there is no power penalty after transmission over a 2220-ps/nm dispersive fiber. This confirms that external modulation has superior transmission characteristics. The modulation scheme for 4-Gb/s systems in terms of these results is discussed.<>  相似文献

A comparison between external phase modulation and phase modulation obtained through direct current modulation of a multiquantum-well distributed feedback (DFB) transmitter is reported for a sensitive 565 Mb/s differential-phase-shift-keying (DPSK) heterodyne transmission experiment. A limited sensitivity penalty for direct phase modulation is expected from the driving current pulse shape, the transmitter FM response and the receiver characteristics. The experimentally observed 0.5 dB penalty is in agreement with theory and highlights the potential of direct DPSK modulation as compared to both standard DPSK and continuous-phase frequency shift keying (CPFSK) schemes.<>  相似文献

A 4-bit optical true-time-delay feeder incorporating an integrated electro-absorption modulation distributed feedback (DFB) laser for X-band phased array antennas is demonstrated. The integrated electro-absorption modulation DFB laser is an attractive device that provides a very compact, low-cost solution for optical true-time-delay systems. The variable delay line is constructed by cascaded magneto-optic switches, which have fast switching speed. The integrated electro-absorption modulation DFB laser system shows high signal-to-noise ratio up to 58dB, and the transmission performance of the system is relatively good and accredited.  相似文献

The temporal behavior of the spectra of distributed-feedback (DFB) lasers is studied under high-bit-rate (2 Gb/s) modulation. The optical spectra are obtained by dithering the off-state laser bias current with a low-frequency (1 kHz) low-amplitude (2 mA) current. It is found that some lasers have side modes that emit only during the first ~125 ps of the pulse. During this short time interval, the intensity of the side mode emission is at least 10 dB stronger than that obtained from time averaged spectra. 报道了采用质子注入制作平面掩埋条形高频DFB激光器。质子注入提高了限制层对电流的限制作用,并减小了限制层的寄生电容;DFB激光器的斜率效率由注入前的0.147mW/mA提高到0.216mW/mA;电容测试结果表明:质子注入使pnpn结构的势垒电容明显减小,激光器的寄生电容由注入前的约100pF降至注入后的6pF;激光器的3dB调制宽带由注入前的500MHz提高到5.66GHz。高温老化筛选结果表明  相似文献

Under large signal modulation and quantitatively controlled optical feedback (from about -50 dB to -25 dB, from the end of ~2-m pigtails), the linearity performance of both a 1.3-μm distributed-feedback (DFB) and a multimode laser is examined. Under proper bias levels and modulation frequencies, both lasers exhibit good linearity even with strong optical feedback. The InAs-InAlGaAs quantum dot (QD) lasers with the InAlGaAs-InAlAs material system were fabricated on distributed feedback (DFB) grating structures on InP [001]. The single-mode operation of InAs-InAlGaAs QD DFB lasers in continuous-wave mode was successfully achieved at the emission wavelength of 1.564 /spl mu/m at room temperature. This is the first observation on the InP-based QD lasers operating around the emission wavelength window of 1.55 /spl mu/m. The threshold current density of the InAs-InAlGaAs QD DFB laser with a cavity length of 1 mm and a ridge width of 3 /spl mu/m, in which one of the cleaved facets was coated with 95% high-reflection, was 1.23 kA/cm/sup 2/ (176 A/cm/sup 2/ for single QD layer). The sidemode suppression ratio value of the QD DFB laser was as high as 42 dB at the driving current of 100 mA.  相似文献
