利用MEMS光开关来构建光交叉连接OXC目前成为一个研究热点。本文叙述了利用MEMS光开关构建光交叉连接的系统构架,提出了相应的硬件平台设计方案,并对实际的OXC交换板做了性能测试。从交换时间和插入损耗这两个指标来看,该OXC完全可以满足一般的交换速度和交换容量需求。同时,在实际制作的OXC交换板的基础上,通过加入扩展光器件,该OXC板可以扩展为带波长变换的光节点,可以实现ASON自动交换光网络的交换节点功能。 相似文献

多粒度光交换能减小光交叉连接矩阵的规模,降低光节点的成本,然而现有多粒度光交换结构的最小交换粒度常为波长,该交换粒度太大,会导致核心节点的链路利用率低.文章在多层MG-OXC基础上,提出了一种新型多粒度交换结构,实现了波带交换和OTDM的结合.该新型MG-OXC结构端口较少,并且可以提高传输速率,同时也因此降低了同等信息量下波长的使用教量,为网络提供了更大的传输容量,能够很好地适应光网络发展的需要. 相似文献

This paper explores the technologies that will enable a further leap forward in transport network evolution. First, requirements of the future transport network are elucidated. Existing network cost is evaluated and the viable means to reduce transport network cost are identified. It is demonstrated that optical path technologies such as WP (wavelength path) and VWP (virtual wavelength path) will play a key role in this. They enhance not only transmission capacity but also cross-connect node throughput cost-effectively by capitalizing on the wavelength routeing scheme. Optical path realization technologies focusing on optical path cross-connect systems are examined. Requirements for the optical path cross-connect system are then elucidated, and a new cross-connect system architecture is evaluated. The architecture exploits PLC (planar lightwave circuit) and other commercially available technologies suitable for large-scale production. The evaluations include cross-connect node upgradability, modular growth capability, total node cost, optical loss and switching power consumption. It is proved that the architecture has significant advantages over existing switch architectures. The optical path technologies provided in this paper will pave the way for a new transport network paradigm, a ubiquitous, bandwidth-abundant and affordable broadband ISDN. 相似文献

In this paper, we briefly review the current state-of-the-art in fiber devices for communication systems and propose some modifications to a previously reported all-fiber optical cross-connect node. These modifications seek to improve the node's spectral characteristics, modularity, and optical spectral efficiency. Similar recommendations are also made for optical add–drop multiplexers to be used in optical ring topologies. Using the added features, the transmission performance of the modified 2 × 2 node is analyzed and comparisons are made with the previously reported nodes of the same dimensions. The results indicate a significant improvement in node cascadability performance over the latter case. Further comparisons were carried out to include other types of all-fiber cross-connect nodes, with the modified node again proving to be an overall competitive solution. 相似文献

In this paper, we present design algorithms for the hierarchical optical path networks that utilize hybrid-hierarchical optical cross-connects (hybrid-HOXCs). The hybrid-HOXCs employ a waveband cross-connect for routing waveband paths and an electrical cross-connect for grooming wavelength paths. We first develop an integer linear programming model to solve the network design problem. We then propose a 2-stage ILP-based design algorithm for hierarchical optical path networks that utilize the hybrid-HOXCs. Its effectiveness is evaluated through numerical experiments. IP over optical network architectures have been extensively discussed within the research literature over the past few years. However, although signaling protocols between IP routers and optical cross-connect networks have been standardized, large IP backbones are not typically deployed over optical cross-connect networks with automatic reconfigurability features, such as automatic restoration or dynamic establishment of new IP links. One of the most important criteria in determining whether an IP backbone should be carried over such an optical cross-connect network is economic viability. In this article we analyze and explore four architectures for a typical large ISP backbone. In contrast with some other published claims, our results suggest it is more economically attractive to bypass an intermediate cross-connect network, given current equipment and IP backbone network design requirements. However, for ISPs who also provide a large volume of private line services, we propose an integrated architecture for IP over optical cross-connect networks that may provide an attractive alternative for providing rapid and cost-effective restoration from network failures 相似文献

针对具有波长转换功能的节点共享型和链路共享型光交叉连接(OXC)节点,分析了相干串扰和非相干串扰引起的功率代价并进行了仿真计算.结果表明,相干串扰引起的功率代价远远大于非相干串扰,尤其当时间延迟小于激光器的相干时间并小于码型周期时,串扰引起的功率代价最大.为达到一定的系统性能,分析了WDM光网络对器件的要求,并比较了波长转换器的加入对OXC节点串扰的影响,结果发现,加入波长转换器后,系统的功率代价有一定的改善,相同条件下波长转换器的加入对器件的隔离度要求降低2 dB. 相似文献
