The realisation criteria of continuous-time current-mode (CM) active filters for low frequency operation are investigated. New lossless and lossy integrators for low frequency operation using dual-output current conveyors (DO-CCII) are proposed. Basing on these building blocks, a CM universal filter with low natural frequencies suitable for integrated circuit implementation is presented. Using the proposed filter, natural frequencies as low as a few ten hertz can be achieved on an integrated circuit chip without using any external passive components. The proposed circuit simultaneously produces three basic filter responses at its high impedance outputs and it has good passive and active sensitivity performance.  相似文献

This paper reports five new single-input multiple-output current-mode multifunction filter circuits which can simultaneously realise three basic filter functions all at high impedance outputs. The circuits employ only the same type of active elements, grounded passive components, andno element matching conditions are imposed. The filters permit orthogonal adjustment of the quality factor Q and angular resonant frequency ω0. The active/passive sensitivities are shown to be low.  相似文献

This paper reports three multi-function filters each of which realizes at least three basic functions without any external passive elements. Depending on the circuit, from one to four operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs), and two operational amplifiers (OPAMPs) are employed. All three circuits are transimpedance-mode circuits; one of them can also operate as a current-mode filter. Therefore this filter represents a dual-mode, multifunction filter. The presented theory is verified with macro models in simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (SPICE) simulations and post layout simulations, which are carried out with parasitics extracted from the layouts of the filter chips.  相似文献

A new universal current-mode (CM) biquad filter is presented which can realise all the five standard filter functions namely lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch and allpass employing only unity-gain current followers (CF) as active elements. The workability of the proposed universal biquad, realised with CMOS unity-gain current followers, is established by SPICE simulations. The new circuit provides explicit CM outputs from high output impedance terminals and possesses a number of advantageous features all of which are not available simultaneously in any of the previously reported CF-based universal biquad filters.  相似文献

In this paper, a current-tunable current-mode multifunction filter with two inputs and two outputs employing only four dual-output current-controlled conveyors (DO-CCCIIs) and two grounded capacitors is proposed. By appropriately connecting the input and output terminals, the proposed circuit can provide lowpass, bandpass, highpass, bandstop and allpass current responses. The filter also offers an independent electronic control of the natural frequency (ωo) and the quality factor (Q) through adjusting the bias currents of the DO-CCCIIs. No critical matching conditions are imposed for realizing all the filter responses, and all the incremental parameter sensitivities are low. The characteristics of the proposed circuit are simulated using PSPICE to confirm the theory.  相似文献

A new universal biquad filter is presented which can realize all the five standard filter functions namely lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch and allpass in voltage-mode (VM) as well as in current-mode (CM) employing only unity-gain cells (i.e. voltage followers and current followers) as active elements. Explicit VM/CM outputs are available from low output impedance terminals and high output impedance terminals, respectively. The workability of the proposed universal biquad, realized with CMOS unity-gain cells, is established by SPICE simulations.  相似文献

In this article, a new current-mode square-root-domain first-order multifunction filter is designed. The filter circuit has a very simple structure; it uses only the Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor (MOSFET) and a grounded capacitor. All transistors’ aspect ratios are the same. It provides lowpass, highpass and allpass responses simultaneously for a single input signal. It can be electronically tuned by changing an external DC current. The filter operates with a single supply voltage of 2.5 V. The proposed circuit has been simulated with PSPICE electronics circuit simulation program (Cadence OrCAD Capture CIS Version 9.2) simulation programs using TSMC 0.35 μm (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) process parameters.  相似文献

A novel mixed-mode multifunction filter configuration containing three FTFNs and only five passive components with a single input and three different outputs is presented. The configuration can be driven by a voltage or current source while as outputs are always voltages and currents. The circuit can thus realize filtering functions in normal-mode as well as in mixed-mode. Besides having small active and passive sensitivities, the parameters resonance frequency (ω0) and bandwidth (ω0/Q) enjoy orthogonal tuning. This paper presents a high-output impedance current mode single-input and three-outputs (SITO)-type multifunction filter which employs three dual-output current conveyors to simultaneously realize low-pass, high-pass and band-pass responses. The proposed circuit uses grounded-virtually grounded passive components (which makes the circuit ideal for integration and tuning). Moreover, it has low active and passive component sensitivities and does not require critical matching conditions and cancellation constraints.  相似文献

In this paper, a very simple topology of a current mode MOSFET-only filter with single-input and multi-output is proposed. It is very important to emphasize that it is possible to obtain five of the filter functions, namely low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP), high-pass (HP), band-stop (BS) and all-pass (AP) using the proposed topology without using external passive elements. The core circuit of the proposed filter employs only four MOS transistors; therefore, it occupies very small chip area. It is also possible to adjust the filter gain with the biasing voltage. In addition, the circuit exhibits a very low input impedance and also high output impedances which make it possible for cascading. The MOSFET capacitances which determine the transfer functions are all grounded, so physical capacitances can be used instead of MOSFET parasitic capacitances to operate the filter at very low frequencies. Moreover, proposed filter structure has low supply voltage as 1 V in order to be applicable to low voltage operations. Detailed simulation results, including noise and Monte Carlo analysis, are provided using 0.18 µm TSMC technology parameters to verify the feasibility of the filter circuit.  相似文献

In this paper a low voltage low power current-mode continuous-timelow-pass filter is presented. The current-integrator is constructedof a multi-output linearized transconductance element drivenby a balanced transimpedance amplifier. A 1 MHz third order ellipticlow pass filter is designed and fabricated with the proposedcurrent-mode integrator. The measurements show capability ofoperation with down to a 3 V supply voltage. The measured currentconsumption is 850 µA at room temperature andthe dynamic range is 66 dB. The distortion of the filter is below50 dBc with peak signal levels up to twice the quiescent currentlevel and with the refined designs even lower distortion is expected.The filter uses a CMOS-current reference for temperature andprocess variation stabilization with a measured corner frequencytemperature coefficient of –100 ppm/K.  相似文献

A general synthesis procedure is given for a versatile signal flow graph realization of a general transfer function by using current differencing buffered amplifier (CDBA). The proposed configuration uses n+1 CDBAs, n capacitors and at most 2n+4 resistors. This number of resistors can be reduced to n+1 for special cases. The circuit is eligible to obtain a variety of transfer characteristics with the same common denominator polynomial, and it is easily converted to different modes of operations. It is straightforward to find the values of the passive elements from the coefficients of the transfer function to be realized. Simulations results are obtained by using commercially available active component AD844 and CMOS technology as well. All of these make the proposed circuit attractive.  相似文献

In this paper, voltage-mode second order high-Q band pass filters and oscillators which employ only single current differencing buffered amplifier (CDBA) as the active component are proposed. One of the four filter circuits and two of the four oscillators described have minimum passive component count properties, without using the internal pole of the active element. These BP filters can be easily cascaded without any recourse to impedance matching circuitry. The circuits have been analysed theoretically, simulated and experimentally tested in a laboratory. It is shown that the results of simulations and experimental work are in agreement with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper, a new general configuration for realizing current-mode all-pass filter circuits using differential voltage current conveyor (DVCC) is proposed. The proposed configuration is composed of a DVCC and five passive admittances. However, each of the circuits extracted from the proposed configuration uses only three passive elements. As an application, the proposed configuration is used to construct a quadrature oscillator. The theoretical results are verified by SPICE simulations.  相似文献

A new canonical current-mode (CM) filter topology is presented. It realizes first-order allpass filtering functions using two dual-output current-controlled current conveyors (DO-CCCII) and a single capacitor. The topology gives both inverting and non-inverting types of these filters. Owing to electronically tunability properties of the CCCII, phase response of the circuit can be controlled by an external control current. Realization of the allpass filter imposes no matching condition. All outputs of the filters exhibit high output impedances so that this property makes the circuits very attractive from the viewpoint of cascading in current mode. The theoretical results are verified with PSPICE simulations using a BJT realization of CCCII.  相似文献

Several current-mode universal filters are reviewed. The filters are classified in two classes. The class I filters have floating passive elements, whereas class II filters have all resistors and capacitors grounded. Each class of filters includes two subclasses based on the filter’s capability to have independent control of the filter quality factor or not. The effects of nonideal second generation current conveyors are briefly discussed. Spice simulations using BSIM3 version 3.1 parameters, feature size 0.5 μm from MOSIS, are given, and a detailed comparison table is included.  相似文献

A novel first-order allpass filter, operating in voltage-mode, is introduced in this article. Compared with the corresponding already proposed structures, attractive offered benefits are the capability for simultaneous offering a minimum number of active and passive components, and the absence of any realisability restriction. These have been achieved by employing a multiple-input operational transconductance amplifier as active element. The performance of the proposed circuits has been evaluated through simulation results, utilising the Analog Design Environment of Cadence software.  相似文献

A new versatile multifunction universal biquadratic filter with four inputs and four outputs employing one differential difference current conveyor, one full differential current conveyor, two grounded capacitors and two grounded resistors is proposed. The proposed configuration can be used as either three-input single-output voltage-mode universal filter with high-input and low-output impedance or single-input four-output voltage-mode multifunction filter with high-input impedance. It still maintains the following advantages: (i) the employment of only two current conveyors, (ii) the employment of only grounded capacitors, (iii) the employment of only grounded resistors, (iv) no need to employ inverting type input signals, (v) no need to impose component choice conditions to realize specific filtering functions and (vi) low active and passive sensitivity performances.  相似文献
