This paper describes a work station designed for undergraduate microcomputer interfacing laboratories. The station includes a powerful set of hardware prototyping and software development tools. Development and downloading of software is faciltated by a communications system which links the work station to a time-sharing host computer. The communications software provides a transparent mode of operation, in which the user may directly interact with time-sharing system facilties (editors and cross-assemblers, for example), and a mode which provides packeted, error-checked downloading of work station object code. This arrangement makes optimal use of available computing resources for software development, and eliminates the need for magnetic storage devices at the work station.  相似文献

This paper presents a single board microcomputer which, in conjunction with a terminal console, constitutes a powerful but inexpensive work station for the instruction of undergraduate and graduate students in computer engineering. The hardware includes 64 K bytes of RAM, 64 K bytes of EPROM (storing a monitor, an editor, an assembler, and a debugger software), six serial ports, two parallel ports with timer capabilities, and a wire-wrap area. The microcomputer can be connected to a host system that acts simply as a nonvolatile storage and printing center.  相似文献

A systematic approach to the design of a multipurpose computer engineering laboratory is presented. An essential ingredient of a successful computer engineering program, and of an effective laboratory servicing that program, is that the hardware and software aspects of the curriculum be truly integrated. The laboratory described here is designed around a central resource-sharing minicomputer to which are connected minimal microcomputer stations. This configuration is proposed as the most cost-effective and the most educationally effective approach to the integration of hardware and software in a microcomputer curriculum.  相似文献

The authors' telecomputing laboratory is a multiuse state-of-the-art undergraduate teaching facility designed to be both flexible and powerful. The controlled workstation and computer communications facilities allow undergraduate students an opportunity to apply and integrate classroom knowledge in communications, signal processing, computer architecture and algorithm and software development via a set of practical experiments. Students are exposed to state-of-the-art computer communications systems, on which they can implement everything from modern digital communication and signal processing algorithms to parallel algorithms and real-time databases. State-of-the-art computer software provides the undergraduate students modern models of quality software, as well as the tools necessary to design and build sophisticated software/hardware systems. This laboratory significantly impacts many undergraduate students who will take positions with organizations in the telecommunications/computer industry, where the skills gained from laboratory experiences will be greatly valued  相似文献

人实际需要出发,定性地分析了微机保护装置受干扰的形式及造成的后果,为实现对干扰的科学分析,确保微机保护装置正常稳定、安全可靠地运行,提出了减少干扰所必须采取的措施,其中包括电源系统的抗干扰措施、正确合理的接地抑制干扰措施、采用屏蔽技术与隔离措施以及微机保护圾软件抗干扰设计中采取的多种措施等。应用结果表明,这些抗干扰措施对提高微机保护装置的稳定运行有很大的帮助。  相似文献

为了对室内空气质量和环境中有害气体浓度进行监测,设计一款MSP430F149单片机阵列式气体传感器信号采集系统。该系统设计一种新型的信号采集电路,采用单片机内部ADC模块对气敏传感器敏感电阻进行采样,并通过UART串口将采集到的数据发送到LabVIEW上位机,实时显示气敏元件电阻变化。给出信号采集系统的硬件设计以及MSP430F149单片机和LabVIEW上位机的软件设计方案,通过实验验证该阵列式气体传感器信号采集系统的正确性和可行性,具有较高采集精度和环境适应性,有非常广阔的应用前景。  相似文献

This paper presents a unique facility capable of exhibiting the operation of modern day power system energy management systems (EMS). The purpose is educational with possible research applications. We present the design and construction of the laboratory facility. Key elements of the facility include a real-life, flexible power system network, signal conditioning hardware, data acquisition (DAQ) equipment, and client/server industry standard computer networking technology. A laboratory-based approach is described for making a diversified set of computer hardware design projects available to large groups of undergraduate students at a modest cost. Memory and input/output functions are provided as common resources to groups of students using either minicomputer or microcomputer systems. These computer systems also serve vital functions of providing interactive operating and testing aids to students, such as issuing prompts for actions by the students, loading internal secondary and external primary main memories, postmortem dumping of main memory, diagnosing input/output errors, and, in some cases, loading an external control memory. Students connect to this common-resource computer system via a programmable bidirectional parallel interface that was designed for the purpose of implementing communications between computing machines in a flexible and low-cost manner.  相似文献

This paper describes a project in which undergraduates construct a small microcomputer system and a supporting terminal monitor program. The project provides an introduction to the operation of microcomputer hardware, the relationship between hardware and software, and the debugging of the hardware/software system. The paper also presents a sequence of experiments which guides the student through the development process, and describes the facilities required to carry out the project. A fully functional computer is described that is simple enough to be built by junior-level undergraduate computer science students with no electronics experience. Any computable algorithm can be programmed using its tree instructions, which are modelled after Turing's original machine. Building this computer gives the computer science students confidence that computer hardware is real and understandable. Layered enhancements of this basic machine can prove to its builders that it can indeed execute any computable algorithm and provides practical exam questions to motivate the study of all six levels of modern computer systems: hardware, microprogram, instruction set, operating system, assembly language, and problem-oriented language level. Equally important, this computer provides a vehicle for practicing hardware/software tradeoffs at several architectural levels. The PC microcomputer can serve as a host system for developing microprocessor-based products. The educational potential for the PC is investigated citing the low cost and widespread availability of systems and PC-hosted products to facilitate hardware and software design. New laboratory methodologies result which prevent students from getting bogged down in learning the basic functions of an expensive and unique name-brand development system.
