Buoyancy-driven convective heat transfer from a semi-circular cylinder for various confinements has been studied using numerical simulations for wide ranges of parameters, Reynolds numbers (1?≤?Re?≤?50), Richardson numbers (0?≤?Ri?≤?2), Prandtl numbers (0.7?≤?Pr?≤?50) and confinement ratios (0.2?≤?β?≤?0.8). A hot semi-circular cylinder is symmetrically kept in a 2D rectangular confinement. The circular side of the cylinder faces the upstream flow and the fluid flows against gravity in the channel. The governing equations are numerically solved using FLUENT and the results obtained are presented in the form of isotherms, streamlines, pressure coefficients, drag coefficients, Nusselt numbers, etc. The highest value of pressure coefficient increases with blockage ratio for all cases. The drag coefficient decreases with Re and shows complex phenomena with change in Ri and blockage ratio of the channel. Pressure drag has contributed more as compared with viscous drag in all cases. The curved surface showed more heat transfer than the flat surface of the semi-circular cylinder. The value of β also has great influence at large value of Peclect numbers (=?2500). Overall average heat transfer in terms of average Nusselt number is a function of Ri, Re, Pr and β.  相似文献

Nd1?xBaxCoO3 (0?≤?x?≤?0.2) ceramics was synthesized by solid state reaction. All the samples have an orthorhombic perovskite structure (Space group P n m a). The electrical transport property indicates that Ba doped NdCoO3 ceramics goes through semiconductor–metal phase transition. The electrical resistivity of Nd1?xBaxCoO3 (0?≤?x?≤?0.15) ceramics decreases, while the electrical resistivity of Nd0.8Ba0.2CoO3 ceramics increases with the increase of temperature. The chemical-sensing property shows that Nd1?xBaxCoO3 ceramics is very sensitive to oxygen. Also, increasing Ba2+ doping concentration can reduce the oxygen desorption rate and increase the sensitivity of resistivity. These results indicate that Ba2+ doped NdCoO3 ceramics is not only the good candidate of the cathode materials of solid fuel cells but also the good materials of gas sensor devices.  相似文献

In this paper, a systematic investigations on the effects of transition metals such as Mn and Ni-dopant on physical properties of cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films coated on soda lime glass substrates by using SILAR method have been reported. The characterizations of un-doped, Mn-doped (Cd0.99 Mn0.01O) and Mn/Ni double doped CdO [(Cd0.99?xMn0.01NixO)(0?≤?x?≤?0.001)] films were investigated by SEM, EDX, XRD and UV–Vis spectrophotometry to determine the morphological, structural and optical properties, respectively. SEM analysis showed that the surface morphologies of the CdO films were influenced by Mn doping and Mn/Ni co-doping. The EDX result verified the presence of expected elements Cd, O, Mn and Ni in the growing solution. The crystal phases of the samples and their crystallinity quality have been investigated by XRD measurements. The X-ray diffractograms show all the diffraction peaks are highly intense also they demonstrate the preferential orientations of (111) and (200) directions. Optical investigations revealed red shift with Mn doping and Mn/Ni co-doping in the absorbance spectrum.  相似文献

The effects of shot peening (SP) on the fatigue strength of partially stabilised zirconia were studied. Smooth specimens and specimens containing a surface pre-crack with depths in the range 35–110?μm were subjected to SP. The cyclic fatigue tests were performed using a three-point bending setup. SP introduced compressive residual stresses on the specimens and improved their fatigue strengths. The shot peened specimens with pre-crack depths?≤?50?μm fractured outside the pre-crack area and exhibited considerably high fatigue limits, equivalent to those of the shot peened smooth specimens. Therefore, the pre-cracks with depths?≤?50?μm could be rendered harmless by SP, which was confirmed by the theoretical estimations based on fracture mechanics.  相似文献

Pure and Cu-doped [(Na1.9Li0.1) Ti3O7XCu (0.01?≤?X?≤?1.0)] layered ceramics are prepared via the conventional solid state reaction method. The microstructure, dielectric properties and ac conductivity of copper doped (Na1.9Li0.1) Ti3O7 have been investigated. The XRD results indicate that copper ions enter the unit cell maintaining the layered structure of solid solution. The dependence of loss tangent (tanδ) and relative permittivity (εr) on temperature range (373–573?K) and frequency ranges (100?kHz–1?MHz) have been repeated for [(Na1.9Li0.1) Ti3O7]XCu (0.01?≤?X?≤?1.0)]. The dielectric losses in copper doped derivatives of layered (Na2-xLixTi3O7) (where X?=?0.1) ceramic are the cooperative contribution of electrical conductions, dipole orientation and space change polarization. The peaks of relative permittivity at high temperature indicate a possible ferroelectric phase transition. It is observed that low doping of paramagnetic ions (Cu2+) enhances electron hopping (polaron) conduction and impedes the interlayer ionic conduction. However, electron hopping conduction is dominant over lower temperature region, but as temperature raises interlayer ionic conduction begins to prevail.  相似文献
