A series of CoO x/Al 2O 3 catalysts was prepared, characterized, and applied for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO by C 3H 8. The results of XRD, UV–vis, IR, Far-IR and ESR characterizations of the catalysts suggest that the predominant oxidation state of cobalt species is +2 for the catalysts with low cobalt loading (≤2 mol%) and for the catalysts with 4 mol% cobalt loading prepared by sol–gel and co-precipitation. Co 3O 4 crystallites or agglomerates are the predominant species in the catalysts with high cobalt loading prepared by incipient wetness impregnation and solid dispersion. An optimized CoO x/Al 2O 3 catalyst shows high activity in SCR of NO by C 3H 8 (100% conversion of NO at 723 K, GHSV: 10,000 h −1). The activity of the selective catalytic reduction of NO by C 3H 8 increases with the increase of cobalt–alumina interactions in the catalysts. The influences of cobalt loading and catalyst preparation method on the catalytic performance suggest that tiny CoAl 2O 4 crystallites highly dispersed on alumina are responsible for the efficient catalytic reduction of NO, whereas Co 3O 4 crystallites catalyze the combustion of C 3H 8 only. 相似文献

Dispersing La 2O 3 on δ- or γ-Al 2O 3 significantly enhances the rate of NO reduction by CH 4 in 1% O 2, compared to unsupported La 2O 3. Typically, no bend-over in activity occurs between 500° and 700°C, and the rate at 700°C is 60% higher than that with a Co/ZSM-5 catalyst. The final activity was dependent upon the La 2O 3 precursor used, the pretreatment, and the La 2O 3 loading. The most active family of catalysts consisted of La 2O 3 on γ-Al 2O 3 prepared with lanthanum acetate and calcined at 750°C for 10 h. A maximum in rate (mol/s/g) and specific activity (mol/s/m 2) occurred between the addition of one and two theoretical monolayers of La 2O 3 on the γ-Al 2O 3 surface. The best catalyst, 40% La 2O 3/γ-Al 2O 3, had a turnover frequency at 700°C of 0.05 s −1, based on NO chemisorption at 25°C, which was 15 times higher than that for Co/ZSM-5. These La 2O 3/Al 2O 3 catalysts exhibited stable activity under high conversion conditions as well as high CH 4 selectivity (CH 4 + NO vs. CH 4 + O 2). The addition of Sr to a 20% La 2O 3/γ-Al 2O 3 sample increased activity, and a maximum rate enhancement of 45% was obtained at a SrO loading of 5%. In contrast, addition of SO =4 to the latter Sr-promoted La 2O 3/Al 2O 3 catalyst decreased activity although sulfate increased the activity of Sr-promoted La 2O 3. Dispersing La 2O 3 on SiO 2 produced catalysts with extremely low specific activities, and rates were even lower than with pure La 2O 3. This is presumably due to water sensitivity and silicate formation. The La 2O 3/Al 2O 3 catalysts are anticipated to show sufficient hydrothermal stability to allow their use in certain high-temperature applications. 相似文献

Four series of cobalt-based catalysts, such as bare Co 3O 4 and CoO, CoO x–CeO 2 mixed oxides, CoO x supported over alumina and alumina–baria and CoMgAl and CoNiAl hydrotalcites have been synthesized and investigated for the oxidative degradation of phenol in the presence of ozone. Characterizations were obtained by several techniques in order to investigate the nature of cobalt species and their morphological properties, depending on the system. Analyses by XRD, BET, TPR, UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and TG/DT were performed. The CoNiAl hydrotalcite exhibits, after 4 h of reaction, the highest phenol ozonation activity followed by Co(3 wt%)/Al2O3–BaO and CoMgAl. The samples Co(1 wt%)/Al2O3–BaO and Co(1 and 3 wt%)/Al2O3 show a comparable medium activity, while the oxidation properties of bare oxides Co3O4, CoO and CoOx–CeO2 are really low. Leaching of cobalt ions in the water solution was detected during the reaction, the amount varied depending on the nature of catalysts. A massive release was observed for the CoMgAl and CoNiAl hydrotalcites, while cobalt catalysts over alumina and alumina–baria look much more stable. The recycle of CoOx/Al2O3 and CoOx/Al2O3–BaO was studied by performing three consecutive cycles in the phenol oxidation. Because of the potential interest of the cobalt-supported catalysts in the ozonation process, the oxidative degradation of naphtol blue black was also investigated. On the basis of TPR and UV–visible results it appears that highly dispersed Co2+ ions especially present over Co(3 wt%)/Al2O3–BaO are the main active sites for phenol and naphtol blue black oxidative degradation by ozone.

A series of calcium-modified alumina-supported cobalt catalysts were prepared with a two-step impregnation method, and the effect of calcium on the catalytic performances of the catalysts for the partial oxidation of methane to syngas (CO and H 2) was investigated at 750 °C. Also, the catalysts were characterized by XRD, TEM, TPR and ( in situ) Raman. At 6 wt.% of cobalt loading, the unmodified alumina-supported cobalt catalyst showed a very low activity and a rapid deactivation, while the calcium-modified catalyst presented a good performance for this process with the CH 4 conversion of 88%, CO selectivity of 94% and undetectable carbon deposition during a long-time running. Characterization results showed that the calcium modification can effectively increase the dispersion and reducibility of Co 3O 4, decrease the Co metal particle size, and suppress the reoxidation of cobalt as well as the phase transformation to form CoAl 2O 4 spinel phases under the reaction conditions. These could be related to the excellent catalytic performances of Co/Ca/Al 2O 3 catalysts. 相似文献

Ni catalysts supported on γ-Al 2O 3, CeO 2 and CeO 2–Al 2O 3 systems were tested for catalytic CO 2 reforming of methane into synthesis gas. Ni/CeO 2–Al 2O 3 catalysts showed much better catalytic performance than either CeO 2- or γ-Al 2O 3-supported Ni catalysts. CeO 2 as a support for Ni catalysts produced a strong metal–support interaction (SMSI), which reduced the catalytic activity and carbon deposition. However, CeO 2 had positive effect on catalytic activity, stability, and carbon suppression when used as a promoter in Ni/γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts for this reaction. A weight loading of 1–5 wt% CeO 2 was found to be the optimum. Ni catalysts with CeO 2 promoters reduced the chemical interaction between nickel and support, resulting in an increase in reducibility and stronger dispersion of nickel. The stability and less coking on CeO 2-promoted catalysts are attributed to the oxidative properties of CeO 2. 相似文献

A series of the Ce 1−xCu xO 2−x/Al 2O 3/FeCrAl catalysts ( x = 0–1) were prepared. The structure of the catalysts was characterized using XRD, SEM and H 2-TPR. The catalytic activity of the catalysts for the combustion of methane was evaluated. The results indicated that in the Ce 1−xCu xO 2−x/Al 2O 3/FeCrAl catalysts the surface phase structure were the Ce 1−xCu xO 2−x solid solution, -Al 2O 3 and γ-Al 2O 3. The surface particle shape and size were different with the variety of the molar ratio of Ce to Cu in the Ce 1−xCu xO 2−x solid solution. The Cu component of the Ce 1−xCu xO 2−x/Al 2O 3/FeCrAl catalysts played an important role to the catalytic activity for the methane combustion. There were the stronger interaction among the Ce 1−xCu xO 2−x solid solution and the Al 2O 3 washcoats and the FeCrAl support. 相似文献

Ethanol steam reforming was studied over Ni/Al 2O 3 catalysts. The effect of support (- and γ-Al 2O 3), metal loading and a comparison between conventional H 2 reduction with an activation method employing a CH 4/O 2 mixture was investigated. The properties of catalysts were studied by N 2 physisorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and temperature programmed reduction (TPR). After activity tests, the catalysts were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG/DTA). Ni supported on γ-Al 2O 3 was more active for H 2 production than the catalyst supported on -Al 2O 3. Metal loading did not affect the catalytic performance. The alternative activation method with CH 4/O 2 mixture affected differently the activity and stability of the Ni/γ-Al 2O 3 and the Ni/-Al 2O 3 catalyst. This activation method increased significantly the stability of Ni/-Al 2O 3 compared to H 2 reduction. SEM and TG/DTA analysis indicate the formation of filamentous carbon during the CH 4/O 2 activation step, which is associated with the increasing catalyst activity and stability. The effect of temperature on the type of carbon formed was investigated; indicating that filamentous coke increased activity while encapsulating coke promoted deactivation. A discussion about carbon formation and the influence on the activity is presented. 相似文献

The preparation of alumina-supported β-Mo 2C, MoC 1−x ( x≈0.5), γ-Mo 2N, Co–Mo 2C, Ni 2Mo 3N, Co 3Mo 3N and Co 3Mo 3C catalysts is described and their hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalytic properties are compared to conventional sulfide catalysts having similar metal loadings. Alumina-supported β-Mo 2C and γ-Mo 2N catalysts (Mo 2C/Al 2O 3 and Mo 2N/Al 2O 3, respectively) are significantly more active than sulfided MoO 3/Al 2O 3 catalysts, and X-ray diffraction, pulsed chemisorption and flow reactor studies of the Mo 2C/Al 2O 3 catalysts indicate that they exhibit strong resistance to deep sulfidation. A model is presented for the active surface of Mo 2C/Al 2O 3 and Mo 2N/Al 2O 3 catalysts in which a thin layer of sulfided Mo exposing a high density of sites forms at the surface of the alumina-supported β-Mo 2C and γ-Mo 2N particles under HDS conditions. Cobalt promoted catalysts, Co–Mo 2C/Al 2O 3, have been found to be substantially more active than conventional sulfided Co–MoO 3/Al 2O 3 catalysts, while requiring less Co to achieve optimal HDS activity than is observed for the sulfide catalysts. Alumina-supported bimetallic nitride and carbide catalysts (Ni 2Mo 3N/Al 2O 3, Co 3Mo 3N/Al 2O 3, Co 3Mo 3C/Al 2O 3), while significantly more active for thiophene HDS than unpromoted Mo nitride and carbide catalysts, are less active than conventional sulfided Ni–Mo and Co–Mo catalysts prepared from the same oxidic precursors. 相似文献

Oxidation of propene and propane to CO 2 and H 2O has been studied over Au/Al 2O 3 and two different Au/CuO/Al 2O 3 (4 wt.% Au and 7.4 wt.% Au) catalysts and compared with the catalytic behaviour of Au/Co 3O 4/Al 2O 3 (4.1 wt.% Au) and Pt/Al 2O 3 (4.8 wt.% Pt) catalysts. The various characterization techniques employed (XRD, HRTEM, TPR and DR-UV–vis) revealed the presence of metallic gold, along with a highly dispersed CuO (6 wt.% CuO), or more crystalline CuO phase (12 wt.% CuO). A higher CuO loading does not significantly influence the catalytic performance of the catalyst in propene oxidation, the gold loading appears to be more important. Moreover, it was found that 7.4Au/CuO/Al2O3 is almost as active as Pt/Al2O3, whereas Au/Co3O4/Al2O3 performs less than any of the CuO-containing gold-based catalysts. The light-off temperature for C3H8 oxidation is significantly higher than for C3H6. For this reaction the particle size effect appears to prevail over the effect of gold loading. The most active catalysts are 4Au/CuO/Al2O3 (gold particles less than 3 nm) and 4Au/Co3O4/Al2O3 (gold particles less than 5 nm). 相似文献

Mn effect and characterization on γ-Al 2O 3-, -Al 2O 3- and SiO 2-supported Ru catalysts were investigated for Fischer–Tropsch synthesis under pressurized conditions. In the slurry phase Fischer–Tropsch reaction, γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts showed higher performance on CO conversion and C 5+ selectivity than -Al 2O 3 and SiO 2 catalysts. Moreover, Ru/Mn/γ-Al 2O 3 exhibited high resistance to catalyst deactivation and other catalysts were deactivated during the reaction. From characterization results on XRD, TPR, TEM, XPS and pore distribution, Ru particles were clearly observed over the catalysts, and γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts showed a moderate pore and particle size such as 8 nm, where -Al 2O 3 and SiO 2 showed highly dispersed ruthenium particles. The addition of Mn to γ-Al 2O 3 enhanced the removal of chloride from RuCl 3, which can lead to the formation of metallic Ru with moderate particle size, which would be an active site for Fischer–Tropsch reaction. Concomitantly, manganese chloride is formed. These schemes can be assigned to the stable nature of Ru/Mn/γ-Al 2O 3 catalyst. 相似文献

Palladium (Pd) supported on CeO 2-promoted γ-Al 2O 3 with various CeO 2 (ceria) crystallinities, were used as catalysts in the methane steam reforming reaction. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, FTIR spectroscopy of adsorbed CO, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were employed to characterize the samples in terms of Pd and CeO 2 structure and dispersion on the γ-Al 2O 3 support. These results were correlated with the observed catalytic activity and deactivation process. Arrhenius plots at steady-state conditions are presented as a function of CeO 2 structure. Pd is present on the oxidized CeO 2-promoted catalysts as Pd 0, Pd + and Pd 2+, at ratios strongly dependent on CeO 2 structure. XRD measurements indicated that Pd is well dispersed (particles <2 nm) on crystalline CeO 2 and is agglomerated as large clusters (particles in 10–20 nm range) on amorphous CeO 2. FTIR spectra of adsorbed CO revealed that after pre-treatment under H 2 or in the presence of amorphous CeO 2, partial encapsulation of Pd particles occurs. CeO 2 structure influences the CH 4 steam reforming reaction rates. Crystalline CeO 2 and dispersed Pd favor high reaction rates (low activation energy). The presence of CeO 2 as a promoter conferred high catalytic activity to the alumina-supported Pd catalysts. The catalytic activity is significantly lower on Pd/γ-Al 2O 3 or on amorphous (reduced) CeO 2/Al 2O 3 catalysts. The reaction rates are two orders of magnitude higher on Pd/CeO 2/γ-Al 2O 3 than on Pd/γ-Al 2O 3, which is attributed to a catalytic synergism between Pd and CeO 2. The low rates on the reduced Pd/CeO 2/Al 2O 3 catalysts can be correlated with the loss of Pd sites through encapsulation or particle agglomeration, a process found mostly irreversible after catalyst regeneration. 相似文献

The influence of catalyst pre-treatment temperature (650 and 750 °C) and oxygen concentration ( λ = 8 and 1) on the light-off temperature of methane combustion has been investigated over two composite oxides, Co 3O 4/CeO 2 and Co 3O 4/CeO 2–ZrO 2 containing 30 wt.% of Co 3O 4. The catalytic materials prepared by the co-precipitation method were calcined at 650 °C for 5 h (fresh samples); a portion of them was further treated at 750 °C for 7 h, in a furnace in static air (aged samples). Tests of methane combustion were carried out on fresh and aged catalysts at two different WHSV values (12 000 and 60 000 mL g−1 h−1). The catalytic performance of Co3O4/CeO2 and Co3O4/CeO2–ZrO2 were compared with those of two pure Co3O4 oxides, a sample obtained by the precipitation method and a commercial reference. Characterization studies by X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) show that the catalytic activity is related to the dispersion of crystalline phases, Co3O4/CeO2 and Co3O4/CeO2–ZrO2 as well as to their reducibility. Particular attention was paid to the thermal stability of the Co3O4 phase in the temperature range of 750–800 °C, in both static (in a furnace) and dynamic conditions (continuous flow). The results indicate that the thermal stability of the phase Co3O4 heated up to 800 °C depends on the size of the cobalt oxide crystallites (fresh or aged samples) and on the oxygen content (excess λ = 8, stoichiometric λ = 1) in the reaction mixture. A stabilizing effect due to the presence of ceria or ceria–zirconia against Co3O4 decomposition into CoO was observed. Moreover, the role of ceria and ceria–zirconia is to maintain a good combustion activity of the cobalt composite oxides by dispersing the active phase Co3O4 and by promoting the reduction at low temperature. 相似文献

The Cu/Al 2O 3 catalyzed ozonation for degrading an endocrine disruptor—alachlor in water was investigated. The Cu/Al 2O 3 powders were coated on a cordierite honeycomb column, which was taken as the reactor of catalytic ozonation of alachlor. Additional uncatalyzed experiments were carried out and the results were compared to those of the catalytic runs. The experimental results demonstrated that Cu/Al2O3 was a very effective catalyst for ozonation of alachlor. The removal rate of alachlor in total organic carbon (TOC) with ozonation in the absence of Cu/Al2O3 was only above 20% in 180 min, while the reduction of totle organic carbon (TOC) in the presence of Cu/Al2O3 was more than 60%. Correspondingly, more inorganic ions created and less by-products produced in the Cu/Al2O3 catalyzed ozonation than in the unanalyzed process. These results indicated that the use of Cu/Al2O3 substantially enhanced the mineralization of alachlor in ozonation. The EPR experiments verified that more √OH radicals generated in the Cu/Al2O3 catalyzed ozonation could bring on a higher alachlor removal rate. 相似文献

A series of phosphorus promoted γ-Al 2O 3 supported NiMo carbide catalysts with 0–4.5 wt.% P, 13 wt.% Mo and 2.5 wt.% Ni were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, pulsed CO chemisorption, BET surface area measurement, X-ray diffraction, near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure, DRIFT spectroscopy of CO adsorption and H 2 temperature programmed reduction. X-ray diffraction patterns and CO uptake showed the P addition to NiMo/γ-Al 2O 3 carbide, increased the dispersion of β-Mo 2C particles. DRIFT spectra of adsorbed CO revealed that P addition to NiMo/γ-Al 2O 3 carbide catalyst not only increases the dispersion of Ni-Mo carbide phase, but also changes the nature of surface active sites. The hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) and hydrodesulfurization (HDS) activities of these P promoted NiMo/γ-Al 2O 3 carbide catalysts were performed in trickle bed reactor using light gas oil (LGO) derived from Athabasca bitumen and model feed containing quinoline and dibenzothiophene at industrial conditions. The P added NiMo/γ-Al 2O 3 carbide catalysts showed enhanced HDN activity compared to the NiMo/γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts with both the feed stocks. The P had almost no influence on the HDS activity of NiMo/γ-Al 2O 3 carbide with LGO and dibenzothiophene. P addition to NiMo/γ-Al 2O 3 carbide accelerated CN bond breaking and thus increased the HDN activity. 相似文献

The interactions NO—CO and O 2—NO—CO have been studied onCuCo 2O 4γ-Al 2O 3 and on γ-Al 2O 3- and CuCo 2O 4γ-Al 2O 3-supported Pt, Rh and Pt—Rh catalysts. The deposition of noble metals (Pt, Rh and Pt—Rh) on CuCo 2O 4γ-Al 2O 3 instead of γ-Al 2O 3 is beneficial in: lowering the temperature at which maximum N 2O is formed and decreasing the maximum N 2O concentration attained; lowering the onset temperature of NO to N 2 reduction, and increasing the N 2 selectivity; preserving the activity towards NO to N 2 reduction on a higher level following the concentration step NO + COO 2+ NO + CO and changing the conditions from stoichiometric to oxidizing (50% excess of oxidants). The reason for this behaviour of the CuCo 2O 4γ-Al 2O 3-based noble metal catalysts is the formation (reversible) of a reduced surface layer on the CuCo 2O 4 supported spinel under the conditions of a stoichiometric NO + CO mixture. 相似文献

The influences of calcination temperatures and additives for 10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts on the surface properties and reactivity for NO reduction by C 3H 6 in the presence of excess oxygen were investigated. The results of XRD and XPS show that the 10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts calcined below 973 K possess highly dispersed surface and bulk CuO phases. The 10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 and 10 wt.% Mn–10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 catalysts calcined at 1073 K possess a CuAl 2O 4 phase with a spinel-type structure. In addition, the 10 wt.% La–10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 catalyst calcined at 1073 K possesses a bulk CuO phase. The result of NO reduction by C 3H 6 shows that the CuAl 2O 4 is a more active phase than the highly dispersed and bulk CuO phase. However, the 10 wt.% Mn–10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 catalyst calcined at 1073 K possesses significantly lower reactivity for NO reduction than the 10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 catalyst calcined at 1073 K, although these catalysts possess the same CuAl 2O 4 phase. The low reactivity for NO reduction for 10 wt.% Mn–10 wt.% Cu/γ-Al 2O 3 catalyst calcined at 1073 K is attributed to the formation of less active CuAl 2O 4 phase with high aggregation and preferential promotion of C 3H 6 combustion to CO x by MnO 2. The engine dynamometer test for NO reduction shows that the C 3H 6 is a more effective reducing agent for NO reduction than the C 2H 5OH. The maximum reactivity for NO reduction by C 3H 6 is reached when the NO/C 3H 6 ratio is one. 相似文献

The effectiveness of Ag/Al 2O 3 catalyst depends greatly on the alumina source used for preparation. A series of alumina-supported catalysts derived from AlOOH, Al 2O 3, and Al(OH) 3 was studied by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy, O 2, NO + O 2-temperature programmed desorption (TPD), H 2-temperature programmed reduction (TPR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and activity test, with a focus on the correlation between their redox properties and catalytic behavior towards C 3H 6-selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO reaction. The best SCR activity along with a moderated C 3H 6 conversion was achieved over Ag/Al 2O 3 (I) employing AlOOH source. The high density of Ag–O–Al species in Ag/Al 2O 3 (I) is deemed to be crucial for NO selective reduction into N 2. By contrast, a high C 3H 6 conversion simultaneously with a moderate N 2 yield was observed over Ag/Al 2O 3 (II) prepared from a γ-Al 2O 3 source. The larger particles of Ag mO ( m > 2) crystallites were believed to facilitate the propene oxidation therefore leading to a scarcity of reductant for SCR of NO. An amorphous Ag/Al 2O 3 (III) was obtained via employing a Al(OH) 3 source and 500 °C calcination exhibiting a poor SCR performance similar to that for Ag-free Al 2O 3 (I). A subsequent calcination of Ag/Al 2O 3 (III) at 800 °C led to the generation of Ag/Al 2O 3 (IV) catalyst yielding a significant enhancement in both N 2 yield and C 3H 6 conversion, which was attributed to the appearance of γ-phase structure and an increase in surface area. Further thermo treatment at 950 °C for the preparation of Ag/Al 2O 3 (V) accelerated the sintering of Ag clusters resulting in a severe unselective combustion, which competes with SCR of NO reaction. In view of the transient studies, the redox properties of the prepared catalysts were investigated showing an oxidation capability of Ag/Al 2O 3 (II and V) > Ag/Al 2O 3 (IV) > Ag/Al 2O 3 (I) > Ag/Al 2O 3 (III) and Al 2O 3 (I). The formation of nitrate species is an important step for the deNO x process, which can be promoted by increasing O 2 feed concentration as evidenced by NO + O 2-TPD study for Ag/Al 2O 3 (I), achieving a better catalytic performance. 相似文献
