Brief expressions of eigenvalue problems, nornral modes, and electric-field profiles for all odd TE and TM modes of ridged waveguides, and the guide wavelength and characteristic impedance for the TE/sub 10/ dominant mode, are presented in this paper. In this analysis, the computation time can be reduced by getting simple approximated variational expressions for eigenvalue equations by using a trial function which satisfies the right-angled edge condition of a ridge. These theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental results and the several references employed. 相似文献

介绍二次有限元法分析波导本征值问题的基本原理和计算过程,编制相应的程序,实例计算了矩形波导的截止波长,并与理论值进行比较,所获得的计算结果与相关文献中所报道的数据吻合较好,表明该方法的有效性和程序的正确性。而且在此基础上计算了几种背脊波导的截止波长,单模带宽,画出了波导的场结构。这些结果和计算数据将为背脊矩形波导器件的小型化提供指导,对工程设计具有一定的实用价值。 相似文献

This paper considers a symmetrical double-ridged waveguide with an axial dielectric slab inserted into it. Series expansions are used to describe the waveguide fields. The method of moments is employed to provide a system of linear equations from which the propagation constant and the coefficients of the series expansions are obtained. from these quantities, the field distributions and power flow are determined and a characteristic impedance based on a power-voltage definition is computed. A set of nonlinear three-dimension equations for the FEM amplifier with elliptical waveguide and planar wiggler is derived. Based on these equations, a universal numerical simulation program is developed independently. The characterisitics of this FEM including the evolution of power, saturation efficiency and bandwidth are investigated. Electron momentum spread and wiggler taper are also considered. 相似文献

Characteristics of wave propagation inside a ridged circular waveguide are studied. The waveguide is a hollow, conducting circular cylinder with a pair of semicircular conducting ridges diametrically attached to its inside wall. Results of a perturbation analysis suggest that in this device a lower attenuation and a wider bandwidth than those of a conventional circular waveguide can be achieved. The complete solution of the ridged waveguide eigen-value problem is presented. The solution is obtained by the formulation of an integral eigenvalue equation which is subsequently solved numerically by application of the Ritz-Galerkin method. The significance of the eigenvalue spectrum is discussed and the modes are classified as either hybrid or trough modes. Equations are given for the electric and magnetic fields and a brief discussion of the edge singularity is presented. The theory is illustrated by computing the dominant eigenvalues and characteristic impedances of various unsymmetrical ridged waveguides. 相似文献

In this paper, finite element method is first used to discuss the field patterns in a hollow perfectly conducting pipe with elliptical cross section. The electrical field lines of the dominant TE mode as well as the magnetic field lines of the lowest TM mode are presented. Optimum stepped transformers from rectangular waveguide to ridged and all-metal finned waveguides are designed with the method of field expansion into eigenmodes, which includes higher order mode interaction between the step discontinuities. Computer-optimized design data are given for a Ku-band ridged waveguide prototype with a ridge width of 1 mm, as well as for Ku-band and E-band finned waveguide transformers with commercially available metal fin thicknesses of 0.19 mm and 0.1 mm, respectively, suitable for metal-etching manufacturing technique. The optimum designs achieve a minimum return loss of about 36 dB, or 34 dB for the whole Ku- or E-band, respectively. The theory is verified by comparison with measured results. 相似文献

A TE-mode planar transmission line is analyzed. It has a cross section as a ridged waveguide where the ridges are very thin. It is easily fabricated by photoetching of copper-clad dielectric boards, but can also be made without dielectrics for low-loss applications. Thus, it can be integrated together with other planar transmission lines like, for example, striplines. Besides the simplicity in feeding by stripline, the guide can be made smaller than an ordinary rectangular waveguide. It has applications in filters, resonators, balun-transitions, antenna feeds, etc. The characteristic impedance of the transmission line and its free-space cutoff wavelength are calculated and given in a diagram. 相似文献

提出一种不通过波导脊背与微带导带接触来实现脊波导-微带射频信号过渡的新型电路,具有工作频带宽、插入损耗小、电性能稳定等优点,非常适合工程应用。通过对该非接触式脊波导-微带过渡与Lange 电桥进行理论分析与仿真计算,提出了一种可覆盖C/ X/ Ku 频段的宽带功率合成方法,并按照该方案在6 ~18 GHz 频段内设计了一种以脊波导为射频端口的高效率2 路功率合成放大器。实测结果表明,6 ~18 GHz 频率范围内的无源合成效率高于87%。采用该电路将典型输出功率12 W 的2 只MMIC 的输出功率合成,在6 ~18 GHz 频率范围内得到了高于20 W 的饱和功率输出,附加效率最高可达28. 9%。该宽带功率合成放大器以脊波导为接口,不但功率容量大,且便于采用脊波导功率合成器进行高效率二次合成,为6 ~18 GHz 更大输出功率的固态功放研制提供了解决方案。 相似文献
