Organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) is a suitable tool for process intensification. For specialty chemicals production within a multi‐purpose environment, there are some specific concerns regarding membranes and equipment design that have to be considered. Process development for OSN to date is hampered by a lack of system characteristics and detailed transport models. Significance of Hormones in Cosmetics In order to avoid side effects one must consider in the case of cortisones the local action, such as atrophy, striae, teleangectasies etc., and, in the case of oestrogenes and gestagenes the effects due to absorption. Inspite of the fact that very low concentrations of hormones are involved, such cosmetica should not be applied to children. One schould be very cautious in the application of cortisones to the eye. Even in the formulation of hair lotions, one has to consider a high degree of absorption of all hormones from alcoholic solutions. According to the author androgenes are unnecessary. Shaving acids, such as adrenalin and imidazolines, may cause micro injuries.  相似文献

The role of sensors in process engineering. The principal function of sensors in process engineering is to obtain information about an ongoing process in order to ensure optimum management of that process in terms of process engineering. New methods of measuring conventional parameters, and recent advances in instrumentation technology, have improved ways of obtaining information and so influenced the interpretation of process engineering installations. Statistical evidence confirms a sharp increase in the number of sensors, and the increasing tendency to record flow and level measurements and product composition. Changes occurring in process engineering determine the requirements sensors have to meet and the ways in which they can be used. Microelectronics makes it possible to extend the range of functions available and the information content. This is giving rise to an new generation of sensors which are not only helping to meet the higher measurement standards required but are also making modern sensor technology more ?user friendly”?, specially for maintenance.  相似文献

Use of Pigging in the Chemical Industry . Use of piggable pipework systems can lead to dramatic savings in investment costs and to high efficiency of the installed pipework. Emptying and washing operations are no longer necessary. Moreover, losses of valuable raw materials and finished products are avoided, the contamination waste water needing treatment, and hence the environmental burden, is reduced. A small number of pipes suffices for transport of many different substances with a high degree of separation. Pipework systems with pigging equipment in regular operation remain free from deposits. Complete automation eliminates the possibility of operating errors. However, it should not be forgotten that such a system also generates operating and maintenance costs which vary according to product. A decision to introduce a pigging system must ultimately depend upon the economics and availability of the plant.  相似文献

The plant management functions in chemical industry . The information flow can be structured by a layer model, comprising the plant management layer, the process control layer, and the field layer. The higher company management layer issues production orders which are detailed at the plant management layer with the aid of a formulation; amounts of materials required, equipment, personnel, and laboratory measurements are assigned as a prerequisite for production. Changes in the Structure of Engineering in the Chemical Industry. The poor profit situation has stimulated a discussion of the costs of engineering in the chemical industry. The allocation of engineering responsibilities to centralized organizational structures is at issue. This applies to planning just as much as to plant maintenance or to the workshops. These structures are regarded as inflexible, expensive and, in many cases, monopolistic. Decentralized units which are directly responsible to divisions or business units seem to be able to work more efficiently and cheaply. The best alternative, however, is considered to be the outsourcing of work to external firms on a far larger scale than up to now. The article deals with the reasons which have initiated the structural change and with the relating consequences thereto.  相似文献
