The electrical resistivity (T) of V-rich V3Si single crystals (T c-11.4 K) was measured from 4.2 to 300 K along the directions of [1 0 0] and [1 1 1] before and after plastic deformation at 1573 K. Anisotropy of (T) was observed although V3Si has the cubic A15 structure. Plastic deformation does not affect the normal-state (T) behaviour but changes the normal-superconducting transition width Tc. At low temperatures (T c<T 40 K), (T) varies approximately as T n where n-2.5 and this behaviour does not contradict the (0)- phase-diagram plot proposed by Gurvitch, where is the electron-phonon coupling constant and (0) is the residual resistivity.  相似文献

The interaction between a dislocation and the impurity in KCl: Mg2+ (0.035 mol% in the melt) was investigated at 77–178 K with respect to the two models: one is the Fleischer's model and the other the Fleischer's model taking account of the Friedel relation. The latter is termed the F-F. The dependence of strain-rate sensitivity due to the impurities on temperature for the specimen was appropriate to the Fleischer's model than the F-F. Furthermore, the activation enthalpy, H, for the Fleischer's model appeared to be nearly proportional to the temperature in comparison with the F-F. The Friedel relation between effective stress and average length of the dislocation segments is exact for most weak obstacles to dislocation motion. However, above-mentioned results mean that the Friedel relation is not suitable for the interaction between a dislocation and the impurity in the specimen. Then, the value of H(T c) at the Fleischer's model was found to be 0.61 eV. H(T c) corresponds to the activation enthalpy for overcoming of the strain field around the impurity by a dislocation at 0 K. In addition, the Gibbs free energy, G 0, concerning the dislocation motion was determined to be between 0.42 and 0.48 eV on the basis of the following equation ln / = G 0/(kTp0)1 – (T/T c)1/2 –1(T/T c)1/2 + ln 0/where k is the Boltzmann's constant, T the temperature, T c the critical temperature at which the effective stress due to the impurities is zero, p0 the effective shear stress without thermal activation, and 0 the frequency factor.  相似文献

We have solved the Eliashberg gap equations which are valid for arbitrary phonon frequency, (ph), electron-phonon coupling constant, (), and screened Coulomb interaction, ( *). We have used values of (ph),, and ( *) appropriate to the cuprate superconductors, and calculated the density of states, the pair potential., and the value of the gap at T=0 K. Using the linearized Eliashberg equations in the matrix representation, we have calculatedT c and 2/k T c . We have found that we can account for the highT c 's in the cuprates with reasonable values for, *, and ph.  相似文献

We have performed measurements of the complex magnetic ac susceptibility of superconducting compacted platinum powders at temperatures 0.1T10 mK with different ac excitation frequencies in the interval 5 Hz/210 kHz and with different excitation field amplitudes at 0.006bAC2 T. The dependence of the ac susceptibility on the excitation field amplitude permits to determine the intergranular critical current density jc whereas the frequency dependence reflects the flux dynamics. By comparing the experimental results with theoretical predictions we identify flux flow, flux pinning and flux creep effects in the regimes of intra- and intergranular superconductivity. The possible impact of these effects on the superconducting parameters like jc of the samples is discussed.  相似文献

Superconducting Bi-(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O ceramics were prepared through the sol-gel method using an aqueous solution of metal acetates containing acetic acid and tartaric acid. The conditions of gelation and conversion of gel to Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox phase were studied by thermal analysis, infrared absorption spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction technique. It was found that transparent gels were obtained from the solutions containing tartaric acid, with a molar ratio of C4H6O6/Cu of about 0.4. The gel matrix was assumed to be composed of carboxylate anions and metal cations. A gel of molar composition BiSrCaCu = 2223 was decomposed to CaCO3, CaO, CuO and Bi1-x SrxOy (x = 0.2 to 0.3) at low temperatures of 270 to 600 ° C and produced Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox phase at 800 ° C via complex intermediate states. A rapid cooling of the heated product increasedT c (end) in the gel of molar composition BiSrCaCu = 2223, while a slow cooling increasedT c (end) in the lead-containing gel of molar composition BiPbSrCaCu = 1.850.351.92.03.1. The latter showedT c (onset) at 115 K andT c (end) at 105K.  相似文献

The diffusion of the excess oxygen during phase separation in La2CuO4+ was studied using thermal history-dependent normal state magnetic susceptibility(T, t) measurements versus temperatureT and timet as a probe. A large thermal hysteresis of(T) was observed for La2CuO4.044 between data obtained after quenching to 5 K and then warming, and data obtained while or after slowly cooling from 300 K. A model for the excess oxygen diffusion is presented, from which the(T, t) data yield aT-independent activation energy of 0.24(3) eV for the diffusion coefficient of the excess oxygen from 150 to 220 K. In related work, we have used139La NQR andSR measurements to probe the antiferromagnetic (AF) region (x<0.02) of the La2–x Sr x CuO4 system below the Néel temperatureT N(x), from which we extract the Cu+2 staggered magnetizationM (x, T). M(x, T=0), extrapolated from above 30 K, was successfully modeled with spin-wave theory, assuming that the doped holes are mobile and are situated in walls in the CuO2 plane which uncouple undoped AF domains; these domains are coupled to those in adjacent CuO2 planes. This agreement supports the previous hypothesis that microsegregation of the (mobile) doped holes into domain walls occurs above 30 K, consistent with the phenomenology of Emery and Kivelson. Below 30 K, an anomalous increase inM (x, T) is observed, such thatM (x, T=0) is nearly independent ofx. We interpret this effect as arising from localization of the doped holes below 30 K.Deceased.  相似文献

Irradiation of a superconductor by an electromagnetic field with a frequency 0 larger than twice the energy gap (order parameter) decreases the order parameter . We obtain the quasiparticle distribution function n and the dependence of the order parameter on the power of the electromagnetic field P by solving numerically the kinetic equations for n and in the steady state. We take 0/0 = 2.1, 8, and 20, where 0 is the equilibrium value of the order parameter at T = 0 K. In the examples considered the dependence of on the pumping power P becomes double-valued above a critical power. We allow phonons also to be out of thermal equilibrium. To discuss the stability of the steady state thus obtained, we derive kinetic equations for small deviations of the quasiparticle distribution function and the order parameter from the steady state n and by means of the nonequilibrium Green's function theory. Assuming n, exp(i krt), (k) is computed using n s/, where n sis the steadystate quasiparticle distribution function for arbitrary . It is concluded in general that the steady state on the upper branch ( > c 2) is stable with respect to both spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous fluctuations, and the lower branch ( > c 2) is unstable; c 2is the value where the upper and lower branches of (P) coalesce. This work is partly supported by a Grant-in-Aid for Special Project Research from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Japan.  相似文献

From the available data on the physical properties of dilute magnetic alloys, Daybell and Steyert obtain V-shaped semilog plots ofT K vs. N (whereT K is the Kondo temperature andN is the serial number of the magnetic solute in the 3d series). This requires a large variation in the rather small exchange interaction parameterJ, while the Kondos–d exchange model is based on a smallJE F (whereE F is the Fermi energy). Taking the ordinary scattering into account,T K =T F exp((1– cos 2)/(JD cos2)), whereJ<0, 1, is the phase shift for ordinary scattering, andD is the density of states of one spin direction per atom. It has been shown by us recently, from the concentration dependences of the Kondo slopes and the extremum values of the thermoelectric power of dilute magnetic alloys, that 0<d shells, and 3/4<< for those having less-than-half filled 3d shells. We show, on this basis, that the range of variation ofJ is now reduced to more acceptable values, as the solute metal traverses the 3d series. Again, based on our inference that increases with the increase of the solute concentrationc, we show that an increase of the more-than-half filled solute concentration decreasesT K , while the increase of the less-than-half filled solute concentration increasesT K . The fact that the increase of cobalt content in copper or gold favors magnetism while the increase of vanadium content in gold favors nonmagnetism is understandable on this basis.  相似文献

Far from the lambda transition the critical flow of superfluid 4 He through a small orifice is determined by thermal nucleation of quantized vortices. Between 300 mK and 2 K linearly decreasing critical flow velocity has been observed earlier. As the temperature approaches T the size of the vortex core increases and becomes comparable to that of the orifice. We report here measurements of the critical mass current in this temperature range. An array of 24 3×0.17 m holes in parallel with a macroscopic parallel path and flexible-diaphragm Helmholtz resonator have been used. The temperature range explored was from 80 mK to 20 K below T. Preliminary analysis of the data shows that for a reduced temperature t=(T–T)/T1·10 4 the critical current scales approximately as t 1.25 . Closer to T the critical phase difference across the array becomes comparable to 2 and the results have to be analyzed in terms of Josephson effect. The superfluid density has been measured at the same time as the critical current.  相似文献

We have measured the electrical resistivity and the thermal conductivity of Sr 14–x A x Cu 24 O 41(A = Ca and La) single crystals. The Arrhenius plot of ln vs T –1 gives two kinds of activation energy with a boundary temperature T . The activation energy at T < T is in approximate agreement with the spin gap in the ladder estimated from the NMR measurements, suggesting that holes in the ladder are paired and localized at T < T. The observed has been analyzed to be composed of ph , spin and hole due to phonons, spins and holes, respectively. The ph exhibits a small peak at 30 K in every direction of every single-crystal. The contribution of spin is observed along the c-axis except for x(Ca) 6, and the spin gap, which corresponds to the spin excitation from spin-singlet to spin-triplet, has been estimated to be 420 K. For x(Ca) 6, the spin gap, which corresponds to the destruction of spin-singlet pairs i. e. the dissociation of hole pairs, has been estimated from along the c-axis at T > T to decrease with increasing x(Ca).  相似文献

The heat capacityC P of the antiferromagnet MnBr2 ·4H2O has been measured for polycrystalline and single-crystal samples nearT N(2.123 K) with temperature resolution of 1×10–6 K. Similar rounding of the lambda anomaly is found in both cases. For |1 –T/T N| 10–1 all data can be well fitted by assuming the samples to consist of many independent subsystems obeying the same power laws but with a Gaussian distribution ofT N's having a width of 1.1×10–3 K. ForT>T N, we findC P –0.12, essentially as predicted for three-dimensional Ising models in the critical region. ForT<T N and 10–3 10–1,C P ln , which approximates Ising model behavior in this interval but is not expected to be valid for 10–4. ForT>T N and 2.5×10–1, CP agrees well with predictions for the classical Heisenberg model. This crossover at 10–1 is consistent with the known anisotropy of the salt and with present theory. The data forT>T N in the interval 10–4 10–3, while not in the range of obvious rounding, appear to be strongly influenced by the mechanism responsible for that rounding.Work supported by the National Science Foundation and the Office of Naval Research. The athermal transformation in Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Analysis of the selected-area diffraction pattern has shown that the orientation relationships between the omega and the parent-phase in quenched Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy are the same as have been previously observed for the reaction in pure zirconium. Thus it was deduced that the direct transition has taken place in the alloy during cooling. The-originated -particles were visualized using the dark-field technique. The formation of the athermal omega in the-region of-stabilized Zr-Nb alloy is discussed in terms of the relative positions of the free energy equilibrium curvesT 0 ,T 0 ,T 0 and the correspondingM s ,M s andT s start curves. It is concluded that the omega phase can occur over a much wider range of alloy compositions than is usually recognized on the basis of transformation data.  相似文献

A glass-ceramic material was developed to act as a flow visualization material. Preliminary experiments indicate that aperiodic, thermally induced, convective flows can be sustained at normal processing conditions. These flows and the stress and temperature gradients induced are most likely responsible for the anomalous behaviour seen in these materials and the difficulties encountered in their development and in their production on industrial and experimental scales. A simple model describing the dynamics of variable-viscosity fluids was developed and was shown to be in qualitative agreement with more sophisticated models as well as with experimental results. The model was shown to simulate the dependence of the critical Rayleigh number for the onset of convection on the viscous properties of the fluid at low T, and also to simulate quenching behaviour when the temperature differences were high.Nomenclature C p Heat capacity - D, E, F Expansion coefficients - H Height of the roll cell - Pr Prandtl number - R a Rayleigh number - R c Critical Rayleigh number for the onset of convection in a constant-viscosity fluid - S Dimensionless stream function - T Temperature - T m Mean temperature - T 0 Bottom surface temperature - T r Reference temperature - a Aspect ratio of cell - g Acceleration due to gravity - k Thermal conductivity - k 1 Function related to 2v/T 2 - k 2 Function related to 4v/T 4 - r Rayleigh number ratioR a/R c - t Time - w Dimensionless vertical coordinate - w m Mean cell height - x Horizontal coordinate - y Dimensionless horizontal coordinate - z Vertical coordinate - , Constants - t Thermal expansion coefficient - Constant in viscosity function - T Temperature difference between top and bottom surfaces - i Viscosity coefficients - Kinematic viscosity - m Mean kinematic viscosity - Dimensionless kinematic viscosity - Thermal diffusivity - Non-linear temperature function - Dimensionless non-linear temperature function - o - Stream function - Dimensionless time - Eigenvalues  相似文献

Magnetoconductance and excess conductance due to superconducting fluctuations in aluminum films are measured in order to study the temperature dependence of the pair-breaking parameter at temperatures nearT c . The parameter M is estimated from the relation =/8k B Tin, where in is the inelastic scattering time deduced from the analysis of the magnetoconductance. The parameter F is determined by fitting theories to data on the excess conductance at zero magnetic field. It is shown that: (1) For films with a wide range of the sheet resistanceR , 12R 200 /, the temperature dependence of M nearT c agrees well with the theory of Brenig et al. (2) For clean films withR 100 /, the value of F analyzed with theories including the correction term to the Maki-Thompson contribution shows almost the same temperature dependence as M . In a film withR 200 /, however, a discrepancy between M and F remains. On leave from College of General Education, Kyushu University, Ropponmatsu, Fukuoka, Japan.  相似文献

We have calculated the attenuation of longitudinal ultrasound due to real order parameter fluctuations in impure polar and planarp-wave superconductors. The quasiparticle self-energy and the corresponding vertex corrections have been included in thet-matrix approximation for arbitrary scattering rate =1/2N and all scattering phase shifts N (0 N/2). We obtain sound attenuation peaks belowT c whose heights, positions, and shapes depend on 0 (sound frequency), (0), N, and (coupling strength due to particle-hole asymmetry). The peaks become much more distinct and sharper for N =/2 (resonant scattering by impurities) than for N=0 (Born approximation). By choosing , N, and suitably, qualitative agreement between calculated and observed peaks in UBe13 and UPt3 can be achieved.  相似文献

We report measurements of the local density response inside a quasi 1-D horizontal 3 He fluid layer to a step-like change T of the boundary temperature, where |T| 80 K and much smaller than |T – Tc| where Tc is the critical temperature. These experiments used a new cell design, described in the text, and were carried out along the critical isochore both above and below Tc. The observed temporal and spatial density response (t, z) and its equilibration time are described adequately by the relations developed from the thermodynamic theory of Onuki and Ferrell. We verify that over the temperature range of low stratification, where computer simulations and closed-form calculations can be compared, they are in exact agreement. The systematic differences of experimental results from predictions can be accounted for by the departure of the cell from the ideal 1-D geometry. The much larger disagreement between the experimental and predicted equilibration time scale in earlier experiments is also explained. Finally, deviations from linearity observed in the density response for steps |T| larger than 90 K are reported and the implications of such nonlinearity for the (t, z) profile and especially the effective relaxation time eff are analyzed. We also discuss the predicted onset of convection near Tc for the conditions in our experiment. In the Appendix, the likely sources for systematic deviations in the density response function for the experimental cell from calculations in the ideal 1-D geometry are presented and their effects calculated. The so-obtained response function ZF(, z) is compared with previously published data.  相似文献
