催化法生产氧化铁黄工艺条件研究

Studies of Liquid Crystalline Solutions Using NMR Spectroscopy

The form of the NMR spectra obtained from liquid crystalline samples is discussed. It is shown how orientational order parameters can be derived from quadrupolar splittings and dipolar couplings, and their use in investigating possible forms for potentials of mean torque is illustrated for rigid solute molecules. For non-rigid molecules, the observed partially-averaged quadrupolar and dipolar couplings depend upon the nature of the internal rotations about bonds, as well as on the orientational order; it is shown how both of these factors can be investigated by NMR for both mesogenic molecules and for non-rigid solutes. Finally, it is shown how deuterium NMR is being used to study field-induced orientational order in the isotropic phase of mesogenic molecules.

Use of experimental design to investigate processing conditions and K value effects in poly(vinyl chloride) window profile extrusion

Abstract

Statistical experimental design has been used on a laboratory scale, twin screw extruder to investigate how processing conditions and polymer K value affect both the extrusion process and important extrudate properties: viz. Charpy impact strength, colour, gloss, and degree of gelation. It is demonstrated how this approach can be used to define the optimum processing window. Although in production situations it may be impractical or too expensive to vary large numbers of variables over a wide processing range, it is possible to use the experimental design approach without initiating unwieldy experimental programmes by using Evolutionary Operation. This is illustrated with reference to extrusion line trials.

Grafchart for recipe-based batch control

The paper presents how Grafchart, a toolbox based on Grafcet, object-oriented programming ideas and high-level Petri nets, can be used to implement a batch control recipe execution and recipe representation system. A brief overview of Grafchart is given and it is shown how its concepts fit the models defined in the recent ISA batch control standard S88.01. A simulated batch process cell scenario is presented together with several alternative ways of representing batch recipes.

On the importance of material frame-indifference and lift forces in multiphase flows

In this paper, we discuss the importance of the Principle of Material Frame-Indifference, sometimes referred to as Objectivity, in multiphase flows. We first give a brief account of the formulation of a two-phase mixture and then indicate where and how this principle should be utilized. We will then give a brief review of the meaning of this principle in continuum mechanics and how it has been used in various fields of physics. We also give examples of frame-indifferent and frame-dependent constitutive relations which have been used in multiphase flow studies. The importance of lift forces is also discussed. Finally, we derive a general constitutive relation which is frame-invariant and general enough to be used in many applications.
