A hybrid master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) laser source has been realized by coupling a single-mode three-section distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser as master oscillator and a tapered power amplifier with a single lens only. A maximum continuous-wave optical output power of 3.1 W was achieved. The emission spectrum was completely determined by the DBR laser. Single longitudinal mode operation at a wavelength of /spl lambda/=1061 nm was maintained over the whole power range. Up to an output power of 1.8 W, the beam propagation factor M/sup 2/was less than 1.6.  相似文献

The authors have demonstrated an all-semiconductor discrete-element 1.5 mm length tapered-amplifier MOPA (master oscillator power amplifier) emitting up to 2.0 W CW in a diffraction-limited pattern. The tapered single-pass amplifier MOPA exhibits a very high differential efficiency of 72% and a total energy conversion efficiency of 39% at 2.0 W CW output power. The high efficiency of the MOPA is attributed to the tapered amplifier design, which maximises extraction efficiency with a low-power injected beam of 25 mW from a single-mode laser diode. Such an MOPA will have applications where compact, high-efficiency, diffraction-limited sources of radiation are required, such as frequency doubling and free-space communication.<>  相似文献

对Nd:YAG 946 nm和 473 nm激光器特性进行了实验研究。采用二极管端面泵浦平-平腔实验结构,使用键合Nd:YAG晶体作为激光增益介质,在入射泵浦功率31.8 W时,得到最高11 W的连续波946 nm 激光输出,光-光转换效率34.6%,斜率效率35.4%,光束质量M2达到7.53,半小时内功率不稳定度小于0.4%。采用Ⅰ类临界相位匹配LBO晶体对946 nm激光进行内腔倍频,获得了0.887 W的连续波473 nm蓝光输出,光-光换转效率5.87%。实验结果表明:所设计的端面泵浦连续激光器具有很强的实用价值。  相似文献

通过准相位匹配技术,采用1μm波段高功率窄谱线连续光纤激光放大器抽运高二次谐波转换效率周期性极化晶体,是实现高光束质量、小型化、高功率连续绿光激光器的一个非常有前途的方向。实验自主研发了高效率主振荡功率放大(MOPA)全光纤保偏放大模块,获得中心波长为1064.25nm,线宽为0.035nm的30 W连续线偏振激光,并以此作为基频光抽运国产周期极化钽酸锂(PPSLT)晶体进行了外腔单通倍频实验。保持PPSLT晶体的控制温度为145.6℃,在抽运光功率为21.5W时得到了2.1W的绿光输出。实验分析了温度、基频光功率密度和Boyd-Kleinman聚焦因子对倍频光转换效率的影响。实验过程中没有出现饱和现象,进一步提高抽运功率有望获得更高功率的绿光。  相似文献

开展了1 915 nm高功率、高效率、窄谱宽输出的掺铥光纤激光器(TDFL)研究。基于全光纤主振荡功率放大(MOPA)结构,采用40 W的793 nm半导体激光器泵浦纤芯直径25 m的双包层大模场面积(LMA)掺铥光纤,获得了最高功率12.1 W的1 915 nm窄谱宽连续种子激光输出。将8 W种子光注入掺铥光纤放大器,在793 nm激光泵浦功率为142.9 W时,获得了平均功率90 W的激光输出,其中心波长为1 915.051 nm,3 dB谱宽仅为94 pm,斜率效率为60.2%,光-光转换效率达63.0%。该系统在40 min运行考核时间内输出激光稳定性良好。  相似文献

An optimized diode-laser side-pumped grazing-incidence Nd:YVO/sub 4/ amplifier was used to increase the power of a 50-mW 150-MHz continuous-wave (CW)-pumped mode-locked oscillator up to 6.1 W in single pass, with 22% optical-to-optical efficiency, or up to 8.4 W in double pass, with 30% efficiency. Both beam quality (M/sup 2/<1.4 from TEM/sub 00/ seed pulses) and pulse duration (7.5 ps from 6.9 ps) were preserved. Single- or double-pass small-signal gain greater than 40 dB was achieved. These experimental results have been corroborated by a numerical model analysis of the amplifier.  相似文献

报道了一种峰值功率58 kW的窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤激光器,由窄线宽种子源加4级光纤放大的主振荡功率放大(MOPA)结构组成。窄线宽种子源输出的连续种子光经电光强度调制器调制为纳秒脉冲信号光,经4级光纤放大,输出峰值功率达58 kW的窄线宽脉冲激光,中心波长106431nm,平均功率569W,重频100kHz,脉宽98ns,斜效率717,光束质量M2=134,偏振消光比156dB。激光功率的进一步提升受限于次脉冲及自相位调制。该高峰值功率窄线宽纳秒脉冲光纤激光器可在激光雷达中得到应用。  相似文献

A master oscillator-power amplifier (MOPA) has been fabricated and optimized for measuring the small-signal gain (γ0) and saturation power (Psat) of a continuous-wave (CW) single-mode (SM) double-clad (DC) Yb-doped (YD) silica fiber amplifier at 1082.5 nm. It was shown that the gain and saturation properties are strongly dependent on the pump power, dopant concentration and fiber length mainly due to the dominant effect of the overlapping factor.  相似文献

A new design of hybrid master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) has been proposed and realized by vertically stacking laser diodes with optical coupling provided by identical in-plane integrated gratings. Low beam divergence, large emitting and input areas of the grating coupled devices simplify the assembling technique over the fabrication of MOPA devices based on edge-emitting laser diodes. The master oscillator also incorporates a dual-grating reflector providing a wavelength-selective feedback resulting in a narrow emission spectrum of 0.2 nm at a wavelength of 975.4 nm. The power amplifier is a tapered chip with two integrated grating couplers. The operational characteristics of the MOPA were evaluated in the pulse regime demonstrating an output peak power of 32 W with a total amplification factor of 9.3dB.  相似文献

A master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) laser transmitter system at 1047 nm wavelength using a semiconductor laser diode and a diode pumped solid state (Nd:YLF) laser (DPSSL) amplifier is described. A small signal gain of 23 dB, a near diffraction limited beam, l Gbit/s modulation rates and >0.6 W average power are achieved. 为了实现在高重复频率调Q的同时,又有好的光束质量。实验设计了激光二极管抽运的高重复频率、高功率的主功率放大(MOPA)结构激光器,激光器采用声-光调Q,主振荡功率放大+二级放大的结构。优化了主功率放大(MOPA)激光器的结构和相关参数,完成了关于高功率高重频主功率放大(MOPA)结构激光器的实验研究,并且通过合理排列光学元件在谐振腔中的位置来实现光束质量的提高,利用聚焦镜和狭缝来实现激光模式的匹配。在重复频率为50 kHz时,实现了最高功率为51.3 W,输出脉宽为18.62 ns,光束质量为MX2=1.882、MY2=1.971的激光输出,光-光转换效率为23.75%。在增益导引的作用下,主振荡功率放大(MOPA)激光器的输出光光束质量得到了有效的提高。  相似文献

报道了一种基于主振荡功率放大(MOPA)结构工作的全光纤窄线宽线偏振纳秒脉冲光纤激光器。脉冲种子源是由一个分布反馈直腔型(DFB)单频光纤激光器被光电调制器进行强度调制后产生的。为了抑制受激布里渊散射(SBS)效应,脉宽被调节为3 ns,并且种子源线宽被相位调制器展宽为2.9 GHz。经两级保偏掺Yb3+光纤放大器放大后,获得了平均功率142 W,重复频率1 MHz,脉冲宽度2.88 ns,峰值功率49.3 kW的脉冲激光输出。在最大输出功率时,激光光束质量因子M2约为1.15,偏振消光比(PER)大于15.4 dB。  相似文献

The self-phase modulation coefficient /spl gamma/ of 1310 nm multiple-quantum-well (MQW) semiconductor optical amplifiers has been investigated. It is found to vary from 16/spl times/10/sup 4/ W/sup -1/ m/sup -1/ for low driving conditions to 3/spl times/10/sup 4/ W/sup -1/ m/sup -1/ for high-driving conditions. This implies that the amount of self-phase modulation occurring in the amplifier is between 1.5-10/spl times/ more than that occurring in the optical fiber following the amplifier. The additional self-phase modulation caused by the semiconductor optical amplifier may be used to achieve compensation for fiber dispersion in optical communication systems at significantly lower average power levels. The linewidth enhancement factor /spl alpha//sub H/ was found to increase from a value of 2 at low driving conditions, in agreement with results reported for MQW lasers, to a value of 3 at high-driving conditions.  相似文献

1.064 mu m upconversion pumping was used to operate a highly efficient CW and Q-switched thulium (Tm/sup 3+/)-doped fluoride fibre laser at around 1.47 mu m. The maximum CW output power was 100 mW for a launched pump power of 570 mW. The threshold power was 200 mW, the slope efficiency 27% and the wavelength width 20 nm. A diode-pumped acousto-optical(A-O) Q-switched extra-cavity frequency-doubled Nd:YVO4/KTP (KTiOPO4) green laser formed with a simple plane-plane cavity has been demonstrated. With the incident pump power of 12.7W, A-O Q-switched average output power at 1064nm was 3.81W with a duration of 25 ns at a repetition rate of 20 kHz, extra-cavity frequency doubling with KTP as the nonlinear crystal yielded the maximum output power of 1. 92 W at 532 nm, the corresponding optical conversion efficiency from 1064nm to 532nm light is 50.4%. The continuous-wave(CW) laser properties of diodepumped Nd:YVO4 crystal operating at 1064nm have been studied. With the incident pump power of 25 W, the maximum CW output power of 13.81 W was obtained with the corresponding optical conversion efficiency of 55.24%.  相似文献

Continuous-wave (CW) as well as pulsed-laser emission from a midinfrared (/spl lambda/=7.92 /spl mu/m) IV-VI vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser at 1.8 K is presented. The high-finesse microcavity, containing PbSe as an active medium, was optically pumped with a carbon monoxide laser at a wavelength of 5.28 /spl mu/m (1894 cm/sup -1/) in either CW or Q-switched mode. The maximum achieved CW power was 4.8 mW and pulsed peak powers were up to 23 W. Linewidths are considerably narrower than 0.10 cm/sup -1/, corresponding to 0.6 nm.  相似文献
