Novel topologies of fractional-order filters, implemented using the internal gate-source capacitance of MOS transistors, are introduced in this paper. This has been achieved using current-mirrors as active elements, resulting into resistorless realizations due to the employment of the small-signal transconductance parameter of the MOS transistor. This also offers the capability for electronic tuning of the frequency characteristics of the derived filter structures. The evaluation of the proposed technique has been performed through the design of a generalized fractional-order filter, which is also digitally programmed in such way that the four standard filter functions are offered. The behavior of the filter has been evaluated using the Cadence IC design suite and the Design Kit provided by the Austrian Micro Systems 0.35 μm CMOS process.  相似文献

The aim of this letter is to provide graphs which can be used to design a novel class of selective CIC (Cascaded-Integrator–Comb) filters given insertion loss specification. The goal is to choose the free integer filter parameters such that the filter function yields a desired frequency response. To determine the filter parameters needed to satisfy the desired specifications, one can use the graphs of normalized passband and stopband cut-off frequencies versus filter order N. Two graphs, one for maximum attenuation in the passband and one for minimum attenuation in the stopband, are given here. Achieved improvement of performances of the novel class of CIC filter functions over the classical CIC filters is also given. In case of N = 7, the novel class of CIC filter functions gives improvements of 27.68 dB, 47.29 dB and 66.53 dB for different values 1, 2 and 3 of free parameter L, respectively.  相似文献

提出了一种多模方式工作的微带方形贴片带通滤波器。通常设计微带方形贴片滤波器主要是利用TM1,0,0和TM0,1,0这一对简并主模实现单模或双模的工作方式。但是这些滤波器尚存一些有待完善的地方,诸如带内插损偏大,带宽受限等等。本文设计的带通滤波器不使用主模,而是利用三个高次模分量,通过一种简单的微扰方式和馈电方式激励起除简并主模以外的三个高次模分量,并使之相互耦合实现通带。仿真和测量结果充分说明,这种滤波器能够实现宽频段的通带响应,并且在通带内具有很低的插损和良好的阻抗匹配特性,能够广泛地适用于微波平面电路。  相似文献

A nonlinear dynamical model of a memoryless nonlinear gradient IIR adaptive notch filter for estimating the frequency of a noisy sinusoid is derived. The model is verified through simulations, where simulated responses of the estimated frequency are compared with the responses obtained from the model with good agreement. Convergence properties of the filter are studied using the model, and maximum step sizes and initial frequency ranges for convergence are determined. The performance of the adaptive filter in tracking a time-varying signal frequency is also examined.  相似文献

The realisation criteria of continuous-time current-mode (CM) active filters for low frequency operation are investigated. New lossless and lossy integrators for low frequency operation using dual-output current conveyors (DO-CCII) are proposed. Basing on these building blocks, a CM universal filter with low natural frequencies suitable for integrated circuit implementation is presented. Using the proposed filter, natural frequencies as low as a few ten hertz can be achieved on an integrated circuit chip without using any external passive components. The proposed circuit simultaneously produces three basic filter responses at its high impedance outputs and it has good passive and active sensitivity performance.  相似文献

This paper presents a cascadable current-mode (CM) multifunction biquadratic filter. The proposed circuit realizes all five different filter transfer functions employing only two current differencing buffered amplifiers (CDBAs), while previously reported CM multifunction filters require more CDBAs and more passive component count for the same number of filter transfer function realizations. Examples for different filter transfer functions are given along with the results of circuit simulations. It is shown that theoretical and simulation results are in good agreement.  相似文献

Novel Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) and Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) universal filter topologies of arbitrary order and type are introduced in this paper. The proposed topologies have been realised by employing Square-Root Domain (SRD) technique. An offered benefit of the universal filter topologies is that only grounded capacitors are required for their implementations and the resonant frequency of the filters can be electronically controlled by an appropriate dc current. The proposed universal filters simultaneously offer all the five standard filtering functions i.e. Lowpass (LP), Highpass (HP) and Bandpass (BP), Bandstop (BS) and Allpass (AP) frequency responses. In addition, the SIMO topology is generic in the sense that it can yield four different stable filter configurations. Two design examples are provided in each configuration and the correct operation of the corresponding topologies has been evaluated through the PSPICE software with BSIM 0.35-µm CMOS process model parameters.  相似文献

In this article, a new current-mode square-root-domain first-order multifunction filter is designed. The filter circuit has a very simple structure; it uses only the Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor (MOSFET) and a grounded capacitor. All transistors’ aspect ratios are the same. It provides lowpass, highpass and allpass responses simultaneously for a single input signal. It can be electronically tuned by changing an external DC current. The filter operates with a single supply voltage of 2.5 V. The proposed circuit has been simulated with PSPICE electronics circuit simulation program (Cadence OrCAD Capture CIS Version 9.2) simulation programs using TSMC 0.35 μm (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) process parameters.  相似文献

In this paper, a very simple topology of a current mode MOSFET-only filter with single-input and multi-output is proposed. It is very important to emphasize that it is possible to obtain five of the filter functions, namely low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP), high-pass (HP), band-stop (BS) and all-pass (AP) using the proposed topology without using external passive elements. The core circuit of the proposed filter employs only four MOS transistors; therefore, it occupies very small chip area. It is also possible to adjust the filter gain with the biasing voltage. In addition, the circuit exhibits a very low input impedance and also high output impedances which make it possible for cascading. The MOSFET capacitances which determine the transfer functions are all grounded, so physical capacitances can be used instead of MOSFET parasitic capacitances to operate the filter at very low frequencies. Moreover, proposed filter structure has low supply voltage as 1 V in order to be applicable to low voltage operations. Detailed simulation results, including noise and Monte Carlo analysis, are provided using 0.18 µm TSMC technology parameters to verify the feasibility of the filter circuit.  相似文献

Stack filters belong to the class of non-linear filters and include the well-known median filter, weighted median filters, order statistic filters and weighted order statistic filters. Any stack filter can be implemented by using the parallel threshold decomposition architecture which allows implementing their non-linear processing by means of a collection of identical binary filters (Boolean logic circuits). Although it is conceptually simple and useful to study the filter properties, this architecture is not practical for direct hardware implementation because as many as (M – 1) binary filters are required for a M-valued input signal and M is large in many applications.In this paper we introduce a new parallel architecture for stack filter implementations. The complexity is now proportional to the window width L of the filter, instead of to M. In most applications L is much smaller than M which translates into efficient hardware implementations. The attractive characteristic of ease of design exhibited by the threshold decomposition architecture is kept. In fact, for a given stack filter both in the conventional implementation and in the proposed one, the same binary filter is required. The key concept supporting the new architecture is a modified decomposition scheme which generates L binary signals for a multi-valued input. As an application example, a complex WOS filter is designed and prototyped in an FPGA.  相似文献

该文研制了双模曲折悬置带线环四极微波滤波器。采用全波技术对该种滤波器特性进行的计算表明,它具有优良的窄通带、高选择性和小体积,与同类型二极滤波器相比,过渡带更陡峭。采用优化设计方法设计出了滤波器电路尺寸,制造了以r=2.8的Teflon为介质基片的滤波器,测试得到的双模曲折悬置带线四极滤波器的中心频率为f0=1.194 GHz,△f=19.4 MHz,通带插入损耗LP4.3 dB,阻带衰减Ls50 dB,实验结果和CAD预测作了比较,两者基本一致。这种滤波器可望在多种微波系统和移动通信系统中应用。  相似文献

It is shown that a new series FDNR-R equivalent circuit using current controlled current conveyors (CCCIIs) allows effective realization of jω-axis zeros which are known to complicate the active implementation of ladder-type elliptic filters. The resulting ladder-type elliptic filter employs all grounded capacitors while keeping the number of active elements small. In this paper, the use of MOS-only active filters in the implementation of area-effective low-IF image reject filters is discussed. For this purpose, complex filter design procedure is considered regarding MOS-only filter realization techniques and a new second-order filter topology which favors filter’s area-effective implementation is proposed. Owing to the presented approach, a new complex image-reject filter with reduced chip area, which can be used in dual-band GNSS receivers, is obtained. Issues related to IQ imbalance are briefly discussed and a calibration imbalance circuit is proposed. By virtue of the current-mode design technique, the IQ imbalance circuit is embedded with the complex filter, simplifying the system topology. In order to illustrate the feasibility of the filter, post-layout simulation results of a fourth-order Butterworth-type image reject filter designed for dual-band GNSS receivers are provided using SPECTRE simulation tool in CADENCE design environment.  相似文献

The analysis and optimization of a notch filter to combat in-band narrowband interference (NBI) for multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM)-based ultra-wideband (UWB) systems is presented. Unintentional radiation of electronic devices can reside in the UWB band and jam the communication. Erasing the interference with a programmable analog notch filter reduces the requirement for the analog-to-digital converter resolution in the presence of NBI. The order and approximation of the notch filter are determined, and the filter’s bandwidth is optimized to minimize the packet error rate. Simulation results indicate that the UWB system with suppression scheme can handle up to 14 dB more in-band interference power.  相似文献

In this paper a low voltage low power current-mode continuous-timelow-pass filter is presented. The current-integrator is constructedof a multi-output linearized transconductance element drivenby a balanced transimpedance amplifier. A 1 MHz third order ellipticlow pass filter is designed and fabricated with the proposedcurrent-mode integrator. The measurements show capability ofoperation with down to a 3 V supply voltage. The measured currentconsumption is 850 µA at room temperature andthe dynamic range is 66 dB. The distortion of the filter is below50 dBc with peak signal levels up to twice the quiescent currentlevel and with the refined designs even lower distortion is expected.The filter uses a CMOS-current reference for temperature andprocess variation stabilization with a measured corner frequencytemperature coefficient of –100 ppm/K.  相似文献

Digital notch filters are applied to remove or suppress the narrow-band interferences in digital signals, while preserving other components unchanged. Under the condition of the identical notch bandwidths, a novel design method is put forward in this paper to realize the adaptive notch filter with infinite-impulse response (IIR). Firstly, a specially simplified all-pass filter is introduced to construct an IIR non-adaptive notch filter, which serves as the core part in the adaptive one. Secondly, the criterion of least-mean-square (LMS) is applied to design the desired adaptive notch filter (ANF). The designed ANF can track and suppress multiple non-harmonic interference components simultaneously. Finally, the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed design method are verified by a set of experimental results.  相似文献

Internally passive filters such as wave digital filters (WDF) and orthogonal filters, which have desirable properties, are developed as filter structures for adaptive filters. The equations for updating the multiplier coefficients as well as for computing the gradients are derived for these filters. The stability monitoring during the adaptation process for these filters is simple to implement. Simulation results are included to demonstrate the capability of these filters in system identification and noise cancellation. Moreover, motivated by applications of multidimensional adaptive filters in video compression and image enhancement, the proposed adaptive wave digital filters have been extended to two dimensions and applied as adaptive fan filters. Computer simulations are also conducted to show their potential applications to two-dimensional system identification and image enhancement.  相似文献

In this work two different types of topologies are derived for realization any second-order filter characteristic by choosing properly, the admittances of passive elements. These topologies use two second-generation current conveyors (CCIIs). One of the topologies involves different types of CCIIs whereas the other uses the same type of CCIIs together with a unity gain voltage buffer. The buffer used provides not only low output impedance but also facilitates cascading of the filter circuits thus obtained. It is possible to derive many different filters realizing any second-order transfer function by the use of the proposed topologies. Moreover, the produced filters have low-sensitivity performance and permit orthogonal controlling of both the quality factor and the natural angular frequency.  相似文献
