在不考虑放大自发辐射(ASE)对掺饵光纤放大器(EDFA)饱和特性影响的条件下,推出了掺饵光纤放大器(EDFA)三能级系统功率传输的解析表达式,简化了理论分析,所得结果也适用于二能级系统。根据该简化分析方法具有计算了前向泵浦时光纤CATV用掺饵光纤放大器(EDFA)的信号增益曲线。计算表明,当信号增益约在25dB以下,即在光纤CATV用掺饵光纤放大器(EDFA)的工作范围内,简化分析所得的计算结果与较精确的数值计算结果一致。 相似文献

Basing on analyzing distributed erbium-doped fiber amplifier(d-EDFA) of evenly doped density along propagating direction, we put forward two sort d-EDFAs of slowly and linearly variously doped density along propagating direction: one-variation and two-variation d-EDFA. By using convective equations, we study the propagating properties of signal and noise in three sort d-EDFAs. We have made an experimental and theoretical study of the noise figure of an erbium doped fiber amplifier in the saturated regime. The saturated amplified spontaneous emission at the signal wavelength was measured using a very accurate pulsed source technique. We have quantified the noise figure dependence on compression, in excellent agreement with theory, to be less than 1.5 dB for a gain compression as high as 15 dB when the small signal gain was 26 dB, and the 1.48 μm pump power was 27 mW 相似文献

We present a novel and efficient L-band wavelength-tunable Er^3+ doped fiber laser of ring structure. In the cavity two segments of Er^3+ doped fiber and a fiber Bragg grating are used to improve pump efficiency. Tunable filters based on fiber loop mirrors are also applied inside the cavity to act as both a wavelength selector and a line-width compressor. Using these techniques, a tunable laser with tuning range up to 42 nm, output power larger than 1 mW, power uniformity controlled within 1.75 dB and side mode suppression ratio about 40 dB is achieved. 相似文献

针对光速可控情况下信息的传播速度问题,提出利用非解析点方法测量掺Er3+光纤(EDF)中慢光和超光速情况下的信息速度.实验结果表明,可以通过调节泵浦光功率来控制慢光或者超光速传播的群速度,由于信息的传递速度不受群速度的影响,在我们测量精度内,非解析点代表的信息速度不会超过真空中的光速. 相似文献

A high stability superfluorescent fiber source with mean-wavelength stability of 1.3 ppm/°C over a temperature range of 100 °C is proposed based on spectral shaping combined with a thermal management unit. A thermal tunable filter combined with an unpumped filtering erbium-doped fiber is used as the single-pass backward filter. Theoretical model of the filtering fiber’s temperature dependent gain spectra is presented which decides the filter’s central-wavelength with minimum thermal sensitivity for a specific temperature change. Power efficiency and spectral bandwidth of the superfluorescent fiber source are optimized based on three different erbium-doped fibers at room temperature. 相似文献

A simple widely tunable wavelength spacing dual-wavelength single longitudinal mode (SLM) erbium doped fiber laser (EDFL) based on cascaded fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) and birefringent fiber filter is proposed and demonstrated. Experimental results show that the lasing wavelength spacing is widely tunable in a range from 2 nm to 18 nm, which has potential to generate frequency tunable terahertz (THz) waves by beating the lasing dual-wavelength in a high speed photodetector. The birefringent fiber filter acts as an ultra-narrow bandpass filter and benefits the simultaneous oscillation of dual-wavelength in a single laser cavity. The output peak power of the lasing dual-wavelength is approximately equalized at room temperature, and a high optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) is realized in the whole tuning range. The SLM operation of dual-wavelength fiber laser is verified by Fabry–Perot (F–P) scanning interferometer, and the clear eye diagram proves that the proposed fiber laser is effective in the application of fiber optic communication system. 相似文献
