Lubricated fretting tests in water and paraffin oil were performed with a monolithic TiB2, a TiB2-based cermet with 16 vol.% Ni3(Al, Ti) binder, a sialon–TiB2 (60/40) composite and a ZrO2–TiB2 (70/30) composite against ball bearing grade steel. Based on the measured friction and wear data, the ranking of the investigated fretting couples was evaluated. Furthermore, the morphological investigations of the worn surfaces and transfer layers are carried out and the wear mechanisms for the investigated friction couples are elucidated. While fretting in water, experiments revealed that tribochemical reactions, coupled with mild abrasion, played a major role in the wear behavior of the studied material combinations. ZrO2–TiB2 (70/30)/steel wear couple has been found to have the highest fretting wear resistance among the different tribocouples under water lubrication. Under oil lubrication, extensive cracking of the paraffin oil at the fretting contacts, caused by tribodegradation, leads to the deposition of a carbon-rich lubricating layer, which significantly reduced friction and wear of all the investigated tribosystems.  相似文献

为制备摩擦学性能优良的多壁碳纳米管基膨润土润滑脂,采用油酸对多壁碳纳米管(MWCNTs)进行修饰,在实验室自主设计的超声辅助球磨试验装置上,制备在PAO6中均匀稳定分散的多壁碳纳米管悬浮液,并以悬浮液为基础油制备MWCNTs增强的膨润土润滑脂。探讨不同分散方法(球磨分散、超声分散、超声和球磨分散)对多壁碳纳米管分散稳定性的影响,研究润滑脂的摩擦因数、磨斑直径随多壁碳纳米管质量分数的变化。实验结果表明:经油酸修饰的多壁碳纳米管在超声和球磨综合作用下分散稳定性最好;随多壁碳纳米管质量分数的增加,膨润土润滑脂的摩擦因数、磨斑直径先减小后增大,其中多壁碳纳米管质量分数为0.03%时,所制备的膨润土润滑脂摩擦学性能最佳,磨斑直径最小(0.690 mm),比美孚28号航空润滑脂(符合美国军方规格MIL-G81322C,磨斑直径0.807 mm)降低了14.5%。  相似文献

This paper studies the effect of surface modification of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) prior to dispersion in engine oil to improve the tribological properties. The MWCNTs are stabilised in the lubricant with two different surfactants cetrimonium bromide (CTAB) and sorbitan monooleate (SPAN 80) and the effect of surfactants on the tribological properties has been studied. Pristine and surface modified MWCNTs in weight per cent range of 0·5% are dispersed in CI4 plus diesel engine oil. The foaming tendency and other physico-chemical properties of test lubricant have been studied to investigate the effect of nano materials and surfactants. The anti-wear and anti-friction properties are tested on a four ball wear tester and the comparison is made to assess the relative performance of pristine MWCNTs over surface modified MWCNTs. A strong influence of the surface modification technique is found on lubricating and physico-chemical properties. Both CTAB and SPAN 80 could keep the MWCNTs stable in the lubricant without compromising the foaming tendency of lubricant and other physico-chemical properties. The friction and wear characteristics of lubricants have improved with the dispersion of surface modified MWCNTs while there is no improvement in the properties of lubricant dispersed with pristine MWCNTs.  相似文献

AISI1045 steel was modified by laser heat-treatment and conventional heat treatment. The friction and wear behaviors of the steel specimens after various surface modifications sliding against SAE52100 steel under the lubrication of liquid paraffin containing sulphurized olefin were comparatively investigated on an Optimol SRV oscillating friction and wear tester. The worn surface morphologies of the modified steel specimens were analyzed using a scanning electron microscope. The elemental compositions and chemical states of some typical elements on the worn surfaces of the modified steel specimens were analyzed with an energy dispersive X-ray analyzer and X-ray photoelectron spectroscope, respectively. It was found that the laser heat-treated specimen showed the highest hardness and best wear-resistance. The laser heat-treated and conventionally heat treated AISI1045 steel specimens sliding against SAE52100 steel under the lubrication of liquid paraffin containing sulphurized olefin registered smaller friction coefficients than under the lubrication of liquid paraffin alone. This was partly attributed to the increased hardness of the modified specimens. The tribochemical reaction between the steel and the active elements in the additive was involved in the sliding of the modified steel specimens against SAE52100 steel ball under the boundary lubricating condition, with the formation of a surface protective film composed of various tribochemical products. This also contributed to improve the friction and wear behavior of the modified steel specimens. The steel specimens subject to different surface modifications showed differences in the wear mechanisms under the boundary lubricating condition as well. Namely, the tempered steel specimen was mainly characterized by plastic deformation and pitting, the quenched specimen by grooves and delaminating, and the laser heat-treated one by polishing and mild adhesion.  相似文献

Graphite nanosheets with average diameter of 500 nm and thickness about 15 nm were prepared by stirring ball milling. The tribological behavior of the graphite nanosheets as additive in paraffin oil were investigated with a four-ball and a pin-on-disk friction and wear tester. The wear surfaces of the steel ball lubricated with the additive-containing paraffin oil were analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It has been found that the graphite nanosheets as additive in oil at proper concentration show better tribological properties than pure paraffin oil. The load-carrying capacity and antiwear ability of the lubricating oil were improved. Moreover, the friction coefficient of the lubricating oil was decreased by the addition of the graphite nanosheets. The optimal concentration of the additive in paraffin oil is about 1.0 × 10−2 wt.%.  相似文献

采用SRV型摩擦磨损试验机分别考察了Ti6Al4V/钢摩擦副在多种脂肪醇润滑下的摩擦磨损性能。结果表明,与液体石蜡相比,碳链长度小于碳8的脂肪醇作为Ti6Al4V/钢摩擦副的润滑剂表现出良好的润滑性能,其润滑机制是在Ti6Al4V磨损表面形成吸附膜。载荷和频率明显影响Ti6Al4V/钢摩擦副在脂肪醇润滑下的摩擦磨损行为和摩擦磨损机制:当载荷较小时,Ti6Al4V磨损表面主要发生轻微的擦伤;随着载荷增加,Ti6Al4V磨损表面擦伤严重并在更高载荷下发生较为严重犁沟和塑性变形。  相似文献

利用MHK-500型环-块磨损试验机研究了二烷基二硫代磷酸锌(ZDDP)对几种聚合物及其复合材料-金属摩擦副油润滑摩擦磨损性能的影响。结果表明,液体石蜡中的ZDDP对尼龙66(PA66)及聚酰亚胺(PI)-GCr15轴承钢摩擦副的摩擦系数影响不大,但却使聚四氟乙烯(PTEE)及其复合材料-GCr15轴承钢摩擦副的摩擦系数略有降低。PTEE及其复合材料-GCr15轴承钢摩擦副表面的ZDDP吸附膜具有一定的抗磨作用,它大幅度降低了Pb、PbO及MoS  相似文献

传统油或脂润滑剂在极端工况环境下无法满足碳钢类零件的减摩要求,采用干膜润滑剂是提高极端工况环境下碳钢表面摩擦磨损性能的可行性方法。采用超声波分散方法制备以石墨粉末为基体的干膜润滑剂,使用压力喷涂技术使其沉积在碳钢试件表面,在端面摩擦试验仪中开展干摩擦和石墨干膜润滑剂润滑下摩擦磨损性能对比性试验研究。试验结果表明:石墨干膜润滑剂在碳钢表面的沉积效果较好,沉积的石墨干膜润滑剂具有较好的润滑性能,可以有效地保护碳钢表面不被过度磨损;喷涂石墨干膜润滑剂的碳钢试件的工作寿命随着压力载荷和主轴转速的增大而缩短,负载和滑动速度的联合作用会加速涂层向稳定方向的过渡;磨损过程中形成的微观润滑剂颗粒会形成颗粒流润滑,适当添加石墨颗粒粉末可能会延长润滑剂正常发挥减摩作用的时间。制备的石墨干膜润滑剂为碳钢在极端工况环境下的减摩提供了支持。  相似文献

The carboxyl-functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT-COOH) was achieved by grafting carboxyl (COOH) groups onto surfaces of MWCNTs. Then polyimide (PI)-based nanocomposites reinforced with MWCNTs-COOH and MWCNTs were prepared by in situ polymerization and the tribological behaviors of PI/MWCNTs-COOH and PI/MWCNT nanocomposites were studied under dry friction and seawater lubrication. The results showed that the incorporation of MWCNTs-COOH and MWCNTs could greatly improve the wear resistance of PI because of the lubricating effect of MWCNTs-COOH and MWCNTs. In additon, the PI/MWCNTs-COOH exhibited better tribological performance than the PI/MWCNTs under dry friction due to functionalization of MWCNTs. In addition, PI/MWCNTs-COOH nanocomposites presented better tribological properties under seawater lubrication than other conditions because of the excellent lubricating effect of seawater, especially when the content of MWCNTs-COOH was 0.7 wt%. Furthermore, the effects of applied load and sliding speed on the tribological behaviors of PI/MWCNTs-COOH nanocomposites were studied under seawater lubrication. It was found that 0.7 wt% PI/MWCNTs-COOH nanocomposites had the best friction reduction and antiwear properties when the applied load and sliding speed were 3 N and 0.26 m/s, respectively, under seawater lubrication.  相似文献

The friction and wear behavior of ISO 100Cr6 steel ball sliding against conventionally hardened carbon and low-alloy steels was studied. The effect of hardness, hardening capacity, normal load, and sliding speed on the coefficient of friction and friction energy was investigated. Friction tests were carried out, without lubrication and under ambient conditions, on a reciprocating friction tester in which a ball-on-flat contact configuration was adopted. The results showed that there is a relative tendency for the friction properties to decrease with increased hardening capacity and decreased hardness. The results showed that increasing normal load decreases the coefficient of friction for the two steel nuances. However, increasing sliding speed increases the coefficient of friction of low-alloy steel and decreases the coefficient of friction of carbon steel. The oxidation of wear debris influences the wear mechanisms and friction behavior.  相似文献

利用MM-200型磨损试验机考察了ZDDP对聚合物材料(PTFE、PI及MCPA)-GCr15轴承钢摩擦副摩擦磨损性能的影响。研究发现,液体石蜡及含ZDDP的液体石蜡润滑均可大幅度改善聚合物材料的摩擦磨损性能,且使其摩擦系数比干摩擦时降低一个数量级,摩擦副表面的ZDDP吸附膜均在不同程度上提高聚合物材料的耐磨性,但其对聚合物材料的摩擦性能影响不大。  相似文献

A material composed of a steel backing, a sintered porous bronze middle layer and a layer of reinforced PTFE, which is named JS material, was prepared. The friction, wear and limiting PV values of this material under dry friction as well as the lubrication of number 20 mechanical oil were studied using a MPV-1500 friction tester. The worn surface of JS material and the transfer film formed on the counterface of carbon steel were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). The results show that the friction, wear and limiting PV values of JS material can be greatly improved with the lubrication of oil. The results of SEM and EPMA analyses indicate that, under dry friction conditions, the solid lubricant PTFE and Pb easily transfer to the steel counterface and results in the reduction of friction and wear; while under the lubrication of oil, little transference of PTFE and Pb to the steel surface occurs and very small friction and wear are achieved. Analyses of frictional surfaces also suggest that the Pb filler gets enrichment on the rubbing surfaces, which is beneficial in increasing the adhesion of the transfer film with the steel surface.  相似文献

Despite several studies that have confirmed the beneficial effect of MoS2 and WS2 nanoparticle-assisted lubrication, an understanding of how the nanoparticles behave in different, even very common contact conditions, such as roughness, is still missing. As a result we have focused on a comparison of the lubrication behaviour of MoS2 nanotubes mixed with PAO oil using steel surfaces with different roughnesses. Moreover, we have investigated the MoS2-nanotubes-assisted lubrication of steel/steel contacts in all lubrication regimes and also the effect of the running-in of these contacts. It was realized that the friction with the nanotubes-containing oil was 40–65% lower compared to the base oil, depending on the different contact conditions used. Furthermore, we showed that by using MoS2 nanotubes in the oil the friction is the same for rough and smooth steel surfaces, meaning that the nanotubes completely govern the lubrication behaviour in self-mated steel contacts in the boundary- and mixed-lubrication regimes, irrespective of the surface roughness or the running-in.  相似文献

The beneficial effect on lubrication achieved through microtexturing of sliding surfaces by laser ablation and polishing was investigated. The investigation was based on two independent experimental approaches with oil-lubricated smooth and laser-textured steel surfaces in oscillating sliding contact with a steel ball. Two types of laser-textured patterns of microcavities were studied. It was found that, in comparison with smooth steel surfaces, the laser-texturing significantly reduced friction and wear. The most significant improvement in the tribological performance was achieved with an oil of high viscosity combined with a texture comprising a low density of deep microcavities with a small opening.  相似文献

以竹纤维为增强相,通过稀土化合物改性制备一种树脂基复合材料;采用环块式摩擦磨损实验,研究稀土化合物改性复合材料在油润滑状态下载荷、转速对试样摩擦学性能的影响,以及稀土化合物改性对复合材料试样摩擦学性能的影响;比较干摩擦状态和油润滑状态下复合材料的摩擦学性能,观察和分析试样磨损表面形貌,探讨其磨损机制。实验结果表明:油润滑条件下,稀土化合物改性复合材料的摩擦因数和磨损率都随着载荷的增大而增加;较高载荷下摩擦因数随着转速的增大先增加后减小,而磨损率则呈现逐步增加的趋势;稀土化合物的改性使竹纤维和基体界面结合更为紧密,提高摩擦因数的同时降低了磨损率;在油润滑作用下,试样磨损由干摩擦时的磨粒磨损和疲劳磨损转变成为轻微的疲劳磨损;在油润滑状态下,复合材料处于边界润滑状态,故摩擦因数和磨损率均低于干摩擦。  相似文献

Three types of bismaleimide–carbon nanotubes (CNTs) nanocomposites were fabricated using two types of original multiwalled CNTs with different diameters and one amide functionalized CNTs. The influence of diameter, content and functionalization of CNTs on the flexural and dry sliding wear behaviour were measured with universal testing machine and pin-on-disc wear apparatus. The experimental results indicated that at 1.5 wt-%, the bismaleimide-functionalized MWCNTs exhibited highest flexural strength of 156 MPa which is increased by 164% as compared to the neat matrix, and lowest specific wear rate of 1.8 × 10?4 mm3 N?1 m?1 which is decreased by 90% as compared to the neat matrix. This was attributed to the dispersion of CNTs in the matrix and the filler-matrix adhesion and internal strength of the composite.  相似文献

制备苦参碱-6和左旋肉碱-柠檬酸2种离子液体,分析其结构和热稳定性。研究Si_3N_4球与316不锈钢、Al、Cu、Ti 4种金属基体对摩时,2种离子液体作为润滑剂的润滑性能,并与美孚一号润滑油的润滑性能进行比较。结果表明:2种离子液体在不同基体上具有不同的润滑效果,其中左旋肉碱-柠檬酸具有较低的摩擦因数和较高的热稳定性,其润滑下基体表面磨痕较均匀光整且磨损体积小;左旋肉碱-柠檬酸润滑效果较美孚一号润滑油更好,这是因为其在摩擦过程中形成了有效的物理吸附保护膜和摩擦化学反应膜,并生成了更加复杂的含铁化合物润滑涂层,二者共同作用提高了润滑效果。  相似文献

The friction and wear properties of an Al-Si alloy against AISI 52100 steel were investigated with a block-on-ring wear tester lubricated with a liquid paraffin base oil containing organic additive compounds, such as ethylenediamine, ethyleneglycol, ethanolamine, and N,N-dibutylethanolamine. The boundary film formed on the rubbed surface of the Al-Si alloy was then examined using FT-IR microscopy and XPS. The friction and wear tests revealed that ethylenediamine, ethanolamine and N,N-dibutylethanolamine additives provide good lubrication in the Al-Si alloy-on-steel system, especially N,N-dibutylethanolamine. FT-IR microscopy and XPS revealed the possible formation of a chemically stable five-ring complex of aluminium or silicon with diamine and ethanolamine.  相似文献

精密运转部件表面沉积一层软金属银和银基固体薄膜可以有效地降低摩擦、减小磨损。通过钢球/镀Ag膜摩擦盘在干摩擦、4122油和L252脂润滑条件下的球-盘摩擦学试验,研究Ag膜在油和脂复合润滑下的摩擦学性能,分析润滑条件、载荷、速度对Ag膜摩擦因数的影响。试验结果表明:在4 N法向载荷和油、脂润滑下,与干摩擦相比,镀Ag膜摩擦副的最大静摩擦因数分别减小了10.7%和6.1%;在0~2 000 r/min转速范围内,Ag膜摩擦因数随转速增加而减小,与干摩擦相比,油润滑下Ag膜摩擦因数减小9%~48%,脂润滑下Ag膜摩擦因数减小17%~52%。Ag膜在干摩擦、4122润滑油和L252润滑脂复合润滑下,摩擦因数均随载荷增加而降低;Ag膜摩擦副/钢球在油、脂复合润滑下启动摩擦力矩小,摩擦副在宽转速范围内摩擦因数变化小,运转平稳。  相似文献

The effects of n-pentanol vapor on friction and wear of hydrogenated diamond-like carbon (DLC) films during sliding against a 440C stainless steel (SS) ball were investigated with a reciprocating pin-on-disc tribometer. Under dry sliding conditions, the friction coefficient is initially high (>0.2) for a so-called run-in period and then gradually subsequently decreases to an ultra-low value (<0.025). During the run-in period, a carbon transfer film is formed on the SS ball side, which seems to be the key for the ultra-low friction behavior. In n-pentanol vapor environments, the friction coefficient remained nearly constant at ~0.15 throughout the entire test cycles without any noticeable run-in period. Although the friction coefficient is high, there is no visible wear on rubbing surfaces when examined by optical microscopy, and the transfer film forming tendency on the SS ball side was much reduced. In humid environments, the wear prevention effect is not observed and transfer films do form on the ball side. These results imply that the n-pentanol layer adsorbed on DLC film from the vapor phase provides a molecularly thin lubrication layer which can prevent the substrate from wear.  相似文献
