Noncoherent and coherent multicode direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems with successive interference cancellation (SIC) for multimedia reverse links over frequency-selective fading channels are studied. Followed by a RAKE receiver, the SIC scheme is applied for combating the multiple access interference. The bit error rate (BER) using the SIC technique over Nakagami-m fading channels is derived. Simulation results show that the multicode DS-CDMA system with SIC has demonstrated better performance than that without SIC under the multipath fading environment, while their corresponding numerical results from performance analyses are also provided for verifications. Furthermore, the coherent receiver could achieve a more satisfactory BER than the noncoherent counterpart at the expense of synchronization.  相似文献

The performance of space-time transmit diversity is examined in a multiuser direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) system over fast- and slow-fading channels. The underlying space-time system employs transmit antennas and receive antennas at the mobile user and receiver base station, respectively. We consider the performance of the space-time multiuser system when using the linear decorrelator detector to combat the effect of multiuser interference. In our analysis, we derive a closed-form expression for the probability of bit error for both fast- and slow-fading channels. These theoretical results are shown to be very accurate when compared to system simulations. Both simulations and theoretical results prove that, regardless of the system load, the full diversity order of for fast-fading channels and for slow-fading channels is always maintained, and only a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) loss is incurred. This SNR loss is proved to be a function of only the number of users (i.e., level of interference) and independent of the number of transmit and/or receive antennas. Using our theoretical results, we show that the loss in SNR from the single-user bound can be well approximated by , where represents the level of multiuser interference.  相似文献

Multicode DS-CDMA systems assign more than one spreading sequence to each of the users. In these systems multiple access interference (MAI) is made of a synchronous and an asynchronous component. It is well known that asynchronous MAI alone can be minimized by means of chaos-based spreading. Here we address the trade-off between synchronous and asynchronous MAI by tuning the autocorrelation profile of the chaosbased spreading codes. Improvements in the number of users allowed in the system is demonstrated in certain load conditions with respect to the classical approach of providing each user with a set of orthogonal sequences taken from an i.i.d. process.  相似文献

We present new packet-error rate (PER) analysis for both slotted and unslotted direct-sequence spread-spectrum packet communication systems in a slow Rayleigh fading environment. Based on the accurate improved Gaussian approximation, we derive closed-form expressions for the cumulative probability distribution function of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio in binary phase-shift keying (PSK), quadratic PSK, and differential PSK-based code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems having different types of chip waveforms including bandwidth-efficient waveforms. This leads to new accurate unified expressions for the PERs that account for bit-to-bit error dependence, which are valid for packets with unequal power levels. These new results facilitate accurate computation of the throughput performance of CDMA-based ALOHA local radio networks  相似文献

This paper presents a decorrelating detector for DS-CDMAasynchronous systems over multipath fading channels. The decorrelatingreceiver applies the inverse correlation matrix of signature waveformsto detect the received signal. A procedure for finding such an inversematrix is developed. This procedure employs the reciprocal basis,derived from the basis of normalized user signatures, to cancelsimultaneously both the multiuser and the intersymbolinterference. The proposed multiuser detector operates over a finitedetection window, and the only restriction imposed on the set of signaturesis that the signatures must be independent at the receiver end. If the channelis slowly variant, the detectorcan be very efficient for high bit rate transmissions. Theoreticalbounds for the multiuser interference are obtained. Simulationresults, in which both binary and non-binary sequences are used,reveal that the behaviour of the detector approaches the single userbound when an adequate set of signatures is employed. The reducedcomplexity of this detector indicates that it could be a good candidatefor practical implementation.  相似文献

A multicode direct-sequence code-division multiple-access system experienceslarge envelope variations as a result of a sum of many independently spreadsignals. However, large envelope variations is problematic because it reducesthe spectral efficiency, the efficiency of the power amplifiers and theperformance. All these effects depend on the non-linear amplifiers thatgenerally are used in handsets. It would of course be possible to use a linearamplifier but then the power efficiency is drastically reduced. In this paperwe analyze the envelope variations of a multicode signal in terms of thecrest factor and find that it increases as the square root of thenumber of used codes. As a consequence it is only possible to use themulticode scheme for a few parallel codes. To reduce the envelope variationsa precoder is introduced. This precoder is a non-linear high-rate block codeespecially designed for the set of spreading codes used. However, the precodercan be made independent of the spreading codes if a user-specific spreadingcode is concatenated with a set of Hadamard or Conference sequences. Theresulting spreadig codes are orthogonal. Also, the precoder is independent ofthe user-specific spreading code, and can thus be used for all users. Afterprecoding the crest factor is significantly reduced and the performance, dueto introduced coding gain, improved. Algorithms for the design of precoderswith both reduced envelope variation and good performance are presented.Furthermore, simulations show that a precoded multicode system outperforms anuncoded multicode system in a single-user as well as in a multiuserenvironment.  相似文献

在瑞利衰落信道中利用分集接收是抗衰落最有效的方法,当参与分集的各接收信号彼此独立时能获得最佳性能,分集信号之间的相关性会造成误码性能恶化.现有文献中只给出了二重分集的情况,本文对于二重以上分集在分集信号之间具有一定相关性时的误码性能作了理论分析,尤其是对实际应用中各分集信号之间的相关性并非均匀的情况进行了分析计算,并通过计算机进行了模拟,对于几种典型的情况给出了计算结果和误码性能曲线.  相似文献

This paper presents the root-mean-squared tracking error performance analysis of a class of coherent digital delay-locked loops for multicode direct sequence spread spectrum signals in bandlimited correlated Rayleigh fading channels. In the transmit side, multiple independent PSK-modulated data streams in the in-phase and qudrature phase branches are spread by short mutually orthogonal codes before being further complex spread by a long complex PN code. We assume that the system employs a pilot code channel to assist the receiver’s synchronization and channel estimation. The proposed code tracking loop incorporates the pilot-aided channel estimator and derives the timing error from all short-code-spread subchannels. Our analysis takes into account the effects of imperfect channel estimate, correlated frequency selective Rayleigh fading and band-limiting. Numerical results are presented to quantify the impact of the resulting multipath interference within the same code channel and amongst different code channels.  相似文献

In this paper, we tackle the problem of theoretical evaluation for the multistage parallel interference cancellation (PIC) scheme in a direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) system with orthogonal modulation and long scrambling codes. The studied system operates on the reverse link in a time varying multipath Rayleigh fading channel. By applying the Central Limit Theorem and some other approximations to multiple access interference (MAI) and intersymbol interference (ISI), as well as assuming identically distributed chips from a single interferer, the bit error rate (BER) performance of the PIC scheme at any stage can be recursively computed from the signal-to-noise ratio, number of users, the number of path per user, processing gain of the CDMA system, and the average received power of each path. For completeness, the BER expression is derived for chip synchronous and chip asynchronous systems over both equal and unequal power multipath channels. The proposed analysis is validated by the Monte Carlo simulations and proved to be reasonably accurate, and it gives insight into the performance and capacity one can expect from PIC-based receivers under different situations. For instance, the analytical results can be used to examine the convergence property, multipath diversity gains, and near-far resistance of the PIC scheme.  相似文献

An asynchronous binary DS-CDMA system using random spreading sequences is considered when communicating over various fading channels. New closed-form expressions are derived for the conditional characteristic function (CF) of the multiple access interference. A unified analysis is provided for calculating the exact average bit error rate (BER) expressed in the form of a single numerical integration based on the CF approach. The numerical results obtained from our exact BER analysis are verified by our simulation results and are also compared to those obtained by the standard Gaussian approximation (SGA), confirming the accuracy of the SGA for most practical conditions, except for high signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) and for a low number of interferers.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the design and bit-error performance analysis of linear parallel interference cancellers (LPIC) for multicarrier (MC) direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems. We propose an LPIC scheme where we estimate and cancel the multiple access interference (MAI) based on the soft decision outputs on individual subcarriers, and the interference cancelled outputs on different subcarriers are combined to form the final decision statistic. We scale the MAI estimate on individual subcarriers by a weight before cancellation. In order to choose these weights optimally, we derive exact closed-form expressions for the bit-error rate (BER) at the output of different stages of the LPIC, which we minimize to obtain the optimum weights for the different stages. In addition, using an alternate approach involving the characteristic function of the decision variable, we derive BER expressions for the weighted LPIC scheme, matched filter (MF) detector, decorrelating detector, and minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector for the considered multicarrier DS-CDMA system. We show that the proposed BER-optimized weighted LPIC scheme performs better than the MF detector and the conventional LPIC scheme (where the weights are taken to be unity), and close to the decorrelating and MMSE detectors.  相似文献

Accurate average bit-error rate analysis of asynchronous bandlimited binary direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems in Nakagami-m fading is studied. The fading is assumed to be flat and slow. The spectrum raised-cosine (SRC) and Beaulieu-Tan-Damen (BTD) pulse-shapes are employed. A new method which combines the characteristic function (CF) method with the improved Gaussian approximation (GA) is proposed for evaluating the BER of bandlimited DS-CDMA. A substantial computational complexity reduction is achieved. The well-known standard GA, Holtzman's simplified improved GA, and improved Holtzman's GA methods are also considered. The accuracies of the approximation methods are assessed using Monte Carlo simulation. For a system employing a deterministic sequence for the desired user and random sequences for the active interfering users, a CF method is employed to derive precise BER results. The new BTD pulse outperforms the SRC pulse in all situations  相似文献

In this paper, a detailed theoretical analysis of fading margin in an asynchronous code division multiple access (A-CDMA) system is discussed. Rayleigh and Rician frequency-selective slowly fading channels are considered. Probability distribution and density functions of the probability of error are derived for Rayleigh and Rician fading channels. The fluctuations in the channel capacity are proved to be directly proportional to the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) variations. Fading margin is calculated for both Rayleigh and Rician fading channels as a function of the probability of error specification and the probability of unsatisfactory operation.  相似文献

针对异步DSCDMA系统的多用户环境,该文提出了一种低复杂度的DOA估计算法。该算法首先去除多址干扰及噪声项的影响,并构造出一组包含有感兴趣信息的相关阵;然后采用传统的MUSIC算法即可从这些矩阵中准确地估计出各DOA信息。算法具有计算量小,估计精度高等优点。仿真实验验证了算法的有效性。  相似文献

第三代移动通信系统中,多用户检测技术是克服多址干扰(MAI)、增加系统容量的有效方法。本文针对多径衰落信道下的直扩码分多址(DS—CDMA)系统的上行链路,基于等效扩频码组Gram—Schmitz正交化与串行干扰消除(SIC),提出了等效同步多用户检测(ESMUD)算法。分析最大比合并瑞克(RAKE)接收算法、传统的SIC算法以及本文算法的复杂度,并对三种算法的性能进行数值仿真。结果表明,本文提出的算法能有效抑制MAI,且计算复杂度与传统SIC算法在同一量级上。  相似文献

A characteristic function-based method is used to derive closed-form bit error probability (BEP) expressions for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in the presence of channel estimation error over frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channels and frequency-selective Ricean fading channels. Both single channel reception and diversity reception with maximal ratio combining (MRC) are examined. The BEP expressions are shown to be sums of several conditional probability functions which can be calculated by using proper complex Gaussian random variable theory and a characteristic function method. The closed-form BEP expressions can be used to accurately investigate the bit error rate performance degradation caused by channel estimation error under different wireless channel environment models. The performances of two interpolation methods, a sine interpolator with Hamming windowing and a Wiener interpolator, are compared.  相似文献
