为了研究掺杂浓度、包层尺寸对双包层Er3+/Yb3+共掺光纤激光器的影响,根据双包层Er3+/Yb3+共掺光纤激光器产生激光的机理,基于速率方程,采用改变Er3+,Yb3+掺杂浓度、内包层尺寸等光纤参数的方法,得到了双包层Er3+/Yb3+共掺光纤激光器随光纤参数变化的特征结果。结果表明,在Er3+掺杂浓度不变的情况下,增大Yb3+的掺杂浓度,可有效地提高激光器的输出功率;在Yb3+掺杂浓度保持不变的情况下,增大Er3+掺杂浓度,也可提高激光器的输出功率,但提高的幅度不明显;减小内包层尺寸,激光器的最佳光纤长度随之减小。  相似文献

对980nm泵浦光泵浦双包层Er3+/Yb3+共掺光纤激光器进行了数值模拟,分析了泵浦光与激光在双包层Er3+/Yb3+ 共掺光纤中的分布情况、输出功率与泵浦功率的关系、光纤长度与腔镜反射率对输出激光功率的影响,计算的最大斜效率为56.3%,接近于理论计算值的极限。  相似文献

理论分析了掺Er3+光纤环形腔激光器的输出特性,获得了稳态条件下激光器输出功率、阈值泵浦功率和斜率效率的解析表达式,分析了泵浦光波长、泵浦功率、Er3+光纤掺杂浓度、输出端耦合器分光比等的影响,推导了在特定输出波长处获得最大输出功率所需最佳掺Er3+光纤长度的解析表达式。进行了LD泵浦掺Er3+光纤环形腔激光器的实验工作,获得了斜率效率10%以上的激光输出。  相似文献

系统研究了利用稀土掺杂的石英光纤作为激光增益介质来实现分布布拉格反射式单频光纤激光器。实验中,分别将掺有Nd3+、Yb3+、Er3+/Yb3+和Tm3+的商用石英光纤,熔接到激光谐振腔中,实现了基于石英玻璃光纤的光纤激光系统在多波段的单纵模运转。对各光纤激光器的单频特性进行了研究,其中,激光器线宽可达几十千赫(特别是对于Er3+/Yb3+共掺光纤激光器,其线宽窄于7 kHz),激光系统的强度噪声接近于散粒噪声极限,实验中获得了激光波长由930 nm到2m的单频光纤激光器。实验结果证明:商用的稀土掺杂石英光纤能够作为有效的增益介质来实现短腔型单频光纤激光器。同时,通过进一步的系统集成,基于稀土掺杂石英光纤的单频光纤激光器将得到更加广泛的应用。  相似文献

报道了基于双程后向单级泵浦结构的宽带Er3 + /Yb3 +共掺双包层光纤超荧光光源的 实验研究结果。采用980nm泵浦源,通过优化泵浦功率和光纤长度,在波长1550nm处,实验仅用1m Er3 + /Yb3 +共掺双包层光纤获得了30. 8mW的超荧光输出,泵浦斜效率为28% ,光谱3dB带宽为35nm。  相似文献

报道了Er3+/Yb3+共掺双包层光纤中由于上转换效应产生的荧光现象,并将此荧光与掺Yb3+光纤中产生的绿色荧光进行了详细测量和对比分析,结果表明,Er3+/Yb3+共掺双包层光纤中的绿色荧光仍然是Er3+离子激发态吸收所产生,而Yb3+只起到能量搬运的作用,两种光纤受激产生的荧光光谱、功率,及其随泵浦功率的变化关系,都遵循不同规律。  相似文献

对Er–Yb共掺磷酸盐玻璃波导激光器进行理论研究,弄清Er-Yb能量传递的作用。利用重叠积分方法,对Er-Yb共掺系统的速率方程及激光器中信号光和泵浦光的传输方程进行求解,在980-nm的泵浦光作用下对光波导激光器中Er-Yb能量传递过程的影响做了详细研究,讨论了Yb-Er能量传递对激光器的增益和输出特性的影响。计算结果表明:Yb-Er能量传递对激光器的增益和输出功率的影响不明显。Yb3+离子在Er3+-Yb3+共掺系统中起化解Er3+离子“团簇”、提高泵浦效率的作用。  相似文献

The performances of high power Er/Yb codoped fiber linear cavity lasers are investigated numerically. The numerical analysis is based on the iterative solution of rate equations for population density of the Er/Yb ions. The behaviors of co--pump and counter-pump methods are contrasted. Dependence of output power on input pump power, output reflectivity, operating wavelength and active fiber length is simulated, respectively. High conversion efficiency Er/Yb laser output is obtained in simulations and experiments.  相似文献

The effective pump rate for Er-doped fibers by using Yb codoping is analyzed. We show that the level of the pump power required to suppress the ion-pair induced self-pulsing in Er-doped fiber lasers can be significantly decreased by using Yb:Er-codoped fibers due to the increased effective pump rate. Our results show the potentiality of developing stable single-frequency or high-repetition-rate mode-locked fiber lasers by using high-gain Yb:Er-codoped fibers with laser diodes as pump sources.  相似文献

A theoretical study of short Er/sup 3+/- Yb/sup 3+/ codoped fiber lasers (EYDFLs) is presented. Examples include centimeter-length EYDFLs pumped at 978 nm, with distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) mirrors at both fiber ends. Approximate quasi-analytical solutions are shown to be in excellent agreement with the exact numerical solution of the rate equations. Using the quasi-analytical model, we demonstrate a design optimization of a short EYDFL. The effects of the Yb/sup 3+/ concentration, laser wavelength, output mirror reflectivity, and pump wavelength are considered and discussed with relation to the optimal laser length and output efficiency.  相似文献

Two models are presented to describe the complex dynamics of Q-switched clad-pumped Er/sup 3+/-Yb/sup 3+/ codoped fiber lasers (EYDFLs): the full model that includes the full wavelength-dependence of parameters in the 1550- and the 1080-nm band due to Er/sup 3+/ and Yb/sup 3+/, respectively, and the simplified model that assumes single wavelengths for both bands. The models are based on detailed rate equations that include energy transfer between Er/sup 3+/ and Yb/sup 3+/ ions, and spontaneous emission due to both Er/sup 3+/ and Yb/sup 3+/. The simplified model is shown to agree with the full model within 10% difference. Experiments are performed using a 4-m-long single-mode clad-pumped EYDFL, and pulse energy of 14.5 /spl mu/J is achieved. Excellent agreement is shown between the simplified model and experiments. The model is further used to study the extractable energy of the laser and show limiting factors: amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and energy storage in Yb/sup 3+/ ions. The model is also used to optimize the pulse energy in terms of fiber length, pump power, and Er/sup 3+/-Yb/sup 3+/ concentrations.  相似文献

A numerical study of the transient behavior of single-mode Er/sup 3+//Yb/sup 3+/ codoped fiber lasers is presented. The model, based on propagation-rate equations, includes both uniform up-conversion from the /sup 4/I/sub 15/2/ and /sup 4/I/sub 9/2/ erbium levels and the pair-induced energy transfer process from ytterbium to erbium. We show that neglecting the r dependence of the operating fiber laser parameters allows accurate simulation results at minimum numerical effort. Using this numerical model, we characterize the laser relaxation oscillations and the effect of ytterbium on the dynamic behavior and stability with respect to fluctuations of the pump power. Our results confirm that the presence of Yb/sup 3+/ enhances the efficiency of the laser and show that its stability is also significantly improved.  相似文献

Examples of EYDFL with distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) mirrors at both fiber ends are demonstrated. Approximate quasi-analytical solutions to the rate equations show good agreement with the exact numerical solutions for practical operating conditions. Double-clad and Yb,Er codoped fiber lasers emitting at eye-safe wavelengths (>1.5 μm) have been investigated by varying the codopant concentrations, core modifiers, fiber length, and the spectrum of the diode pump. With a proper composition, the laser output contains only one lasing wavelength, at 1.6 μm. Highest slope efficiency greater than 60% for this three-level system, emitting only at 1.6 μm, has been obtained by using a 20-m-long, double-clad and codoped fiber with the core and clad diameters of 6.3 and 300 μm, respectively. By tradeoff of slope efficiency fur higher output power, a 30-m-long fiber is considered to be the best choice  相似文献

介绍了掺杂稀土元素的光纤非线性增强的机理.给出了几种常用的掺杂稀土元素光纤和波导的非线性数据。掺杂稀土元素的光纤的非线性较之普通石英光纤的非线性有较大地增强,然而掺杂稀土元素的光纤的非线性响应速度较慢,并且和抽运光以及掺杂浓度相关。实验研究了铒镱共掺的光纤光栅的谐振增强型光学非线性,采用980nm抽运光入射到光栅,用光谱仪观察光栅的透射谱。当抽运光入纤功率为100mW时,可实现0.2nm的光栅布拉格波长移动。实验证明掺杂稀土元素离子的光纤光栅具有很高的非线性,大约为普通光纤光栅的10^6倍.这种光栅在全光开关等领域具有一定的应用价值。  相似文献

报道利用Er∶Yb双掺杂光纤制作的单频窄线宽分布布拉格反射 (DBR)光纤激光器。在 980nm半导体激光器抽运下 ,当抽运功率为 75mW时 ,获得了输出功率为 2 3mW的单频激光 ,其中心波长为 1 5 5 7 5 2 4nm ,线宽小于 5MHz。利用制作的单频DBR光纤激光器构成光纤有源传感系统 ,进行温度传感实验研究 ,实验结果线性度很好 ,高信噪比和高输出功率使得该系统具有波长易于检测的优点  相似文献
