Flower-shaped zinc oxide (ZnO) structures have been synthesized in the reaction of aqueous solution of zinc nitrate and NaOH at 90 °C. To examine the morphology of ZnO nanostructures, time-dependent experiments were carried out. Detailed structural observation showed that the flower-like structures consist of triangular-shaped leaves, having sharpened tips with wider bases. Photoluminescence spectrum measured at room temperature show a sharp UV emission at 381 nm and a strong and broad green emission at 480-750 nm attributed to structural defects. A possible growth mechanism for the formation of flower-shaped ZnO structures is discussed in detail.  相似文献

A singularity flower-like ZnO nanostructure was prepared on a large scale through a very simple solution method at room temperature and under ambient pressure in a very short time. The flower-like ZnO nanostructures were self-assembled by thin and uniform nanosheets, with a thickness of around 5 nm. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) were used to characterize the structure and morphology. The possible growth mechanism was discussed based on the reaction process. The blue shift in the UV-vis spectra of the ZnO nanostructures was also observed.  相似文献

The cathodoluminescence (CL) properties including intensity and distribution of the band to band and defect emission of the flower-like ZnO, ZnO/ZnS core-shell and tube-like ZnS nanostructures have been investigated. It is indicated that the Ultraviolet (UV) emission at 380 nm of the flower-like ZnO nanostructures due to the band to band emission is weaker than their yellow emission at 600 nm induced by interstitial oxygen. Moreover, the UV emission of the ZnO nanorods unevenly distributes from the tip to the end. The UV emission on the tip is stronger than that of others due to the waveguide. On the contrary, the yellow emission at 600 nm is uniform. Furthermore, the UV emission of ZnO has been greatly enhanced and the yellow emission has been inhibited by the formation of ZnO/ZnS core-shell nanostructures in the sulfuration process due to the elimination of interstitial oxygen. However, the polycrystalline tube-like ZnS nanostructures shows the uniform and weak defect emission due to S vacancies.  相似文献

Sub-nanometric ZnO clusters were prepared in the micropores of zeolite L by the incipient wetness impregnation method. The X-ray patterns (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, UV-vis absorption spectra (UV-vis) and photoluminescence spectra (PL) were used to characterize the composite materials. The results indicate that a small amount of sub-nanometric ZnO clusters can be introduced into the channel of zeolite L, however, when the amount of ZnO loading exceeds 20 wt%, macrocrystalline ZnO appears on the external surface of zeolite L. Different from bulk ZnO materials, these sub-nanometric ZnO clusters exhibit their absorption onset below 255 nm and a blue luminescence band in the range of 404-422 nm. The temperature-dependent luminescence demonstrates that the amount of the ZnO loading significantly affects the exciton-phonon interaction between the ZnO clusters and the zeolite host. The ZnO clusters exhibit a picosecond scale emission lifetime at room temperature.  相似文献

A novel and simple chemical route was developed for the deposition of ZnO film from aqueous solution, integrating the merits of successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction and chemical bath deposition. ZnO thin films on glass and Si(1 0 0) substrates were deposited with the precursor of zinc-ammonia complex. As-deposited ZnO film exhibits good crystallinity with the hexagonal wurtzite crystalline structure and the preferential orientation along (0 0 2) plane. With a dense and continuous appearance, the film is composed of ZnO particles in even size of 200-300 nm. Under the excitation of 340 nm, strong and sharp near band gap emission (∼391 nm) dominates the photoluminescence spectra with several weak emission peaks related to the deep level (∼450-500 nm). In addition, the mechanism for the deposition process of ZnO from aqueous solution was preliminarily discussed.  相似文献

A novel CuO electrode material with flower-like nanostructures was fabricated at a low temperature (80 °C) by a simple chemical precipitation method. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results showed that CuO with spherical and flower-like structure can be formed under a weak alkali (C6H12N4), and CuO with sheets structure can be obtained under a strong alkali (NaOH). A possible growth mechanism of CuO nanocrystals was discussed. The flower-like CuO electrode exhibited a higher specific capacitance (133.6 Fg−1) and an excellent cycle performance at a high current density of 10 mA/cm2. Specific capacitance of flower-like CuO was 405.3% higher than globular CuO (26.44 Fg−1) at 2 mA/cm2.  相似文献

Aligned Zn2GeO4 coated ZnO nanorods and Ge doped ZnO nanocombs were synthesized on a silicon substrate by a simple thermal evaporation method. The structure and morphology of the as-synthesized nanostructure were characterized using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The growth of aligned Zn2GeO4 coated ZnO nanorods and Ge doped ZnO nanocombs follows a vapor-solid (VS) process. Photoluminescence properties were also investigated at room temperature. The photoluminescence spectrum reveals the nanostructures have a sharp ultraviolet luminescence peak centered at 382 nm and a broad green luminescence peak centered at about 494 nm.  相似文献

Effect of thermal annealing in different ambients on the structural, electrical and optical properties of the sol-gel derived ZnO thin films are studied. XRD results show that the annealed ZnO films with wurtzite structure are randomly oriented. Crystallite size, carrier concentration, resistivity and mobility are found to be dependent on the annealing temperature. The change in carrier concentration is discussed with respect to the removal of adsorbed oxygen from the grain boundaries. The highest carrier concentration and lowest resistivity are 8 × 1018 cm−3 and 2.25 × 10−1 Ω cm, respectively, for the film annealed at 500 °C in vacuum. The annealed films are highly transparent with average transmission exceeding 80% in the wavelength region of 400-800 nm. In all three ambients, the optical band gap value does not change much below 500 °C temperature while above this temperature band gap value decreases for nitrogen and air and increases for vacuum.  相似文献

A series of ZnO films of different thickness have been deposited on glass substrates using sol-gel technique by varying the number of spin coatings and the effect of film thickness on the structural, electrical and optical properties have been investigated. The XRD results indicate that the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the (0 0 2) diffraction peak and the strain along c-axis are decreased as the film is grown up to a thickness of 300 nm. Above 300 nm, the strain again becomes appreciable. The surface morphology shows that the grains become more uniform and bigger in size as the film thickness increases. Electrical result shows that although ZnO film with thickness of around 260 nm has the highest resistivity but is better for current conduction. The excitonic nature in the absorption spectrum becomes prominent for a film with thickness of around 260 nm. The band gap increases and then decreases as the film grows thicker.  相似文献

We have developed a novel, simple and cost effective wet chemical synthetic route for the production of ZnO nanoneedles and nanoflowers at low temperature. The synthesis process does not require any surfactant, template or pre-seeding. The synthesized ZnO nanoneedles have very sharp tips with their lengths in the range 2-3 μm, while for the case of nanoflowers, the nanoneedles were bunched together. X-ray diffraction study and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic studies confirmed the formation of pure ZnO phase. Studies on the electron field emission property of the grown nanostructures showed that they are very efficient field emitter. The turn-on fields and the threshold fields are 3.6 V/μm, 4.4 V/μm and 5.4 V/μm, 6.8 V/μm for the ZnO nanoneedles and ZnO nanoflowers, respectively. The enhanced field emission property was attributed to the presence of sharp tips of the nanostructures.  相似文献

Boehmite (AlOOH) with hierarchical flower-like structures was synthesized by the solvothermal reaction of AlCl3·6H2O in the presence of ethanol and toluene at 200 °C for 24 h. The product was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that boehmite with flower-like nanostructures, which aggregated together by the weak hydrogen bonds, was formed through dissolution-deposition process of boehmite microcrystals and the toluene has a great effect on the morphology of product in the reaction system. Meanwhile, the γ-Al2O3 was also obtained by calcination of above product at 500 °C for 2 h, and the flower-like morphology kept no change. The surface area of γ-Al2O3 powder was determined to be 166.8 m2/g by N2 adsorption measurement. The possible formation mechanism of flower-like boehmite nanostructures was proposed and discussed.  相似文献

Large-scale, uniform ZnO nanocones with tips about 200 nm and length about 50 μm have been synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method. The morphology and structures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM). The effects of reaction time and PEG-400 on the morphology of ZnO nanostructures were investigated, also an oriented attachment mechanism has been briefly proposed. The optical properties were investigated by lasing confocal microscope and photoluminescence spectrum, a strong near band edge emission peak centered at 387 nm from the ZnO nanocones was observed in photoluminescence spectrum. Finally, we have fabricated UV photodetector based on single ZnO nanocone, which present good switching properties by turning the UV light on and off.  相似文献

In this paper, we prepared the ZnO nanoparticles by a simple hydrothermal method and fabricated the ZnO/SiO2 core/shell nanostructures through a sol-gel chemistry process successfully. The hollow SiO2 nanostructures were obtained by selective removal of the ZnO cores. The structure, morphology and composition of the products were determined by the techniques of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results indicated that the ZnO nanoparticles were sphere-like shape with the average size of 60 nm and belonged to hexagonal wurtzite crystal structure. With the coating of SiO2, the vibration modes of Si-O-Si and Si-OH were found. Furthermore, the measurement results of optical properties showed that spectra of bare ZnO nanoparticles and ZnO/SiO2 core/shell nanocomposites exhibited similar emission features, including a blue emission peak and an orange emission band.  相似文献

Low temperature solution synthesis and characterization of ZnO nano-flowers   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Synthesis of flower-shaped ZnO nanostructures composed of hexagonal ZnO nanorods was achieved by the solution process using zinc acetate dihydrate and sodium hydroxide at very low temperature of 90 °C in 30 min. The individual nanorods are of hexagonal shape with sharp tip, and base diameter of about 300-350 nm. Detailed structural characterizations demonstrate that the synthesized products are single crystalline with the wurtzite hexagonal phase, grown along the [0 0 0 1] direction. The IR spectrum shows the standard peak of zinc oxide at 523 cm−1. Raman scattering exhibits a sharp and strong E2 mode at 437 cm−1 which further confirms the good crystallinity and wurtzite hexagonal phase of the grown nanostructures. The photoelectron spectroscopic measurement shows the presence of Zn, O, C, zinc acetate and Na. The binding energy ca. 1021.2 eV (Zn 2p3/2) and 1044.3 eV (Zn 2p1/2), are found very close to the standard bulk ZnO binding energy values. The O 1s peak is found centered at 531.4 eV with a shoulder at 529.8 eV. Room-temperature photoluminescence (PL) demonstrate a strong and dominated peak at 381 nm with a suppressed and broad green emission at 515 nm, suggests that the flower-shaped ZnO nanostructures have good optical properties with very less structural defects.  相似文献

We report the large-scale synthesis of hexagonal cone-shaped ZnO nanoparticles by the esterification between zinc acetate and alcohol. The morphology of the ZnO nanoparticles was investigated by transmission electron microscopy, selected area electron diffraction and scanning electron microscopy measurements. The synthesized ZnO nanoparticles are single-crystalline with hexagonal phase and show a strong UV emission at −378 nm due to the excellent crystallinity of particles. A possible formation mechanism of the hexagonal cone-shape structure is proposed. Furthermore, the as-prepared ZnO particles exhibit high photocatalytic activity for the photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B, indicating that the ZnO nanostructure is promising as a semiconductor photocatalyst.  相似文献

Ti(Sn)-doped single-crystalline ZnO nanorods with an average diameter of 20 nm and length up to nearly 1 μm were synthesized by a facile ultrasonic irradiation-assisted alcoholthermal method without involving any templates. Photoluminescence spectra of the Ti-doped ZnO nanorods were measured at room temperature and three emitting bands, being a violet emission at 400-415 nm, a blue band at 450-470 nm and a green band at around 550 nm, were detected. The emission intensities of the Ti-doped ZnO nanorods enhance gradually with increasing the doping concentrations. As to the Sn-doped ZnO nanorods, the green emission shifts to 540 nm and the emission intensities increase first but decrease later with increasing the doping concentrations.  相似文献

Flower-like ZnO nano/microstructures have been synthesized by thermal treatment of Zn(NH3)42+ precursor in aqueous solvent, using ammonia as the structure directing agent. A number of techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scan electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermal analysis, and photoluminescence (PL) were used to characterize the obtained ZnO structures. The photoluminescence (PL) measurements indicated that the as-synthesized ZnO structures showed UV (∼375 nm), blue (∼465 nm), and yellow (∼585 nm) emission bands when they were excited by a He-Gd laser using 320 nm as the excitation source. Furthermore, it has been interestingly found that the intensity of light emission at ∼585 nm remarkably decreased when the obtained ZnO nanocrystals were annealed at 600 °C for 3 h in air. The reason might be the possible oxygen vacancies and interstitials in the sample decreased at high temperature.  相似文献

A layer-by-layer assembly technique was developed to synthesize the hybrid nanostructures of Au nanocrystals with diameter of about 5 nm and ZnO nanorods via the electrostatic interaction. In comparison with ZnO nanorods, the Au-ZnO hybrid nanostructures exhibited the broadened and red-shifted surface plasmon band, enhanced band gap emission, and suppressed defect emission due to the strong interfacial coupling between Au and ZnO. Moreover, the band gap emission of the Au-ZnO hybrid nanostructures is controllably blue-shifted with decreasing distance between the Au nanocrystals and ZnO nanorods tuned by the amount of the polyelectrolyte layers due to the exciton and plasmon interactions.  相似文献

Nanostructured ZnO thin films on Pyrex glass substrates were deposited by rf magnetron sputtering at different substrate temperatures. Structural features and surface morphology were studied by X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy analyses. Films were found to be transparent in the visible range above 400 nm, having transparency above 90%. Sharp ultraviolet absorption edges around 370 nm were used to extract the optical band gap for samples of different particle sizes. Optical band gap energy for the films varied from 3.24 to 3.32 eV and the electronic transition was of the direct in nature. A correlation of the band gap of nanocrystalline ZnO films with particle size and strain was discussed. Photoluminescence emission in UV range, which is due to near band edge emission is more intense in comparison with the green band emission (due to defect state) was observed in all samples, indicating a good optical quality of the deposited films.  相似文献

A novel method is reported here for the synthesis of optically clear and stable colloidal solutions of silver nanoparticles. According to size they show different colours depending upon their plasmonic absorption frequencies. The materials have been synthesized at room temperature by chemical reduction of silver ions (silver nitrate) coordinated with dendrigraft polymer, polyethyleneimine (PEI) using formaldehyde in aqueous medium. UV-vis absorption and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies show single-band absorption with peak maximum at 354 nm for ∼3 nm sized particles, whereas a side band at ∼400 nm was observed when the particle size increased to ∼20 nm. Highly narrow particle size distribution was observed in case of samples having ∼3 nm size silver particles and also the process of reduction could be completed within minutes. More interestingly, the 3-nm sized particles showed strong blue (474 nm) fluorescence under UV excitation. Thin films of all synthesized samples were prepared on silica substrate by fine spray coating technique.  相似文献
