A mathematical model of the evaporation of a water-emulsion mixture (lubricating agent) in thermal treatment of a synthetic fiber is suggested. It is based on an approximation of interpenetrating continua. A substantial effect of deformation heat losses on the evaporation-front motion is shown. Academic Scientific Complex “A. V. We examine the destabilization of arc discharges blown by a stream of a heated gas in the channel of a vortex plasmatron. A multitude of destabilizing factors of hydrodynamic and thermal origin are noted. The suggest a model of thermal destabilization due to sources of local heat generation. Two problems of heat transfer in regional perfusion are analyzed, viz., in heating of limbs by hot blood and in normothermal perfusion in combination with local SHF hyperthermia. The possibilities of speckle photography for determination of the characteristics of turbulence for gas-dynamic flows are analyzed. It is shown that by using two-exposure speckle photography, the energy spectrum and the scales of turbulence can be calculated, while one-exposure speckle photography provides information on the energy and anisotropy of turbulent pulsations. An experimental study of electrical discharge in an atmosphere of heavy-water vapor was conducted. The heavy-water surface served as the cathode. Scattering of laser radiation on density fluctuations in propagation of radiation through an anisotropic turbulent medium is analyzed. It is shown that the deviation angles in turbulent gas flows at atmospheric pressure equal ∼10−5–10−4 rad and can be detected by means of speckle photography. A statistical analysis of two-dimensional fields of deviation angles makes it possible to evaluate three-dimensional density correlation functions in a turbulent flow. It is shown that taking account of the turbulence anisotropy leads to distributions of the laser-radiation intensity over deviation angles that deviate substantially from the Gaussian distribution. Using an automated complex of spectral apparatuses that allow one to determine local profiles of averaged temperature and its oscillations in a dc arc-discharge column, we investigated the temperature instability of the arc plasma in a laminar air flow. Effects of relaxational diffusion during rapid evaporation of a solvent from a polymer solution taking place as a result of a thermal shock from the side of the free surface of the liquid are investigated. Measurements of the human blood flow curve as a function of temperature are reported. The blood was sampled from healthy donors. The measurements were made at the shear rates from 0.2 to 5.0 sec−1 in the temperature range 30–45°C. The blood flow curve was investigated by the nonstationary measurement method using a specially designed viscosimeter. An experimental study of the human blood flow curve at low shear rates allowed investigation of the temperature dependence of the Casson’s model parameters describing it. It is shown that these parameters have a complicated temperature dependence that exhibits a specific feature at 42°C. Academic Scientific Complex “A. V. We analyze the effect of a constant electric field on the dynamics of the spreading of an electrorheological suspension drop. We discovered a strong effect of the electric field intensity on the speed of spreading and shape of the drop.
