Current situation in the field of safe chemical handling has been considered. The system approach has been suggested to solve this problem. The functional structure of the information-analytical system of management of safe chemical handling and generalized algorithm for the hazard classification of chemicals have been developed with uncertainty. Examples of the practical use of various classification methods are given, quantitative structure-activity relationships, Euclidean distance, neural networks, and frequency rules.  相似文献

In the last decade there has been a resurgence of activity in the field of photoferroelectrics with a focus on the studies of oxides. Ferroelectric (FE) materials have a spontaneous switchable polarization that can lead to interesting light-matter interactions such as the bulk photovoltaic effect. While a wide range of compositions has been explored for ferroelectrics, until recently, FE oxides were considered to be capable of absorbing UV light only. Playing a key role in the advance of the field, first-principles calculations have guided the experimental materials discovery efforts that have identified a wide variety of visible-light-absorbing oxides. First-principles research efforts have also achieved considerable progress in revealing the interplay between the composition, structure and light absorption properties in these materials, and it is now understood that even small changes in the local environment can lead to large changes in band gap character and magnitude. Here, we survey the first-principles efforts following different band-gap engineering strategies and the advances in the computational methods that have been driven by these studies.  相似文献

The uncertainty regarding the effects and risks of nanomaterials on human health and the environment, and how they should be tested and assessed in the context of current regulations, is clearly holding back the full exploitation of the innovative potential of nanomaterials. To reduce this uncertainty, the European Union funded NANoREG and ProSafe projects (jointly referred to as N1P) have made a critical evaluation of methods to test and assess these risks in the context of the current registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals (REACH) regulation. Where essential methods were lacking, new ones have been developed. For several existing methods, adjustments have been proposed. Possible improvements to the REACH regulation have also been identified in these projects. The results of N1P have been translated into recommendations for (European) policy makers and regulators. Part of them have a “no regret” character, meaning that the proposed actions can be considered as necessary, feasible, effective and cost efficient. The recommended measures proposed for data quality and data management will create a more solid information basis for risk assessment of nanomaterials. When implemented, the recommendations regarding REACH will improve the application of REACH in both a legal and scientific sense. In practical terms however, the application of REACH will remain complex, time-consuming and costly. Besides that, adapting and specifying the information requirements and test methods in REACH for nanomaterials that are now on the market, will not solve the regulatory hurdles for next generation (nano) materials. To better align the dynamic character of developing new materials and the static character of regulations, it is recommended to explore possibilities of a more future proof approach for securing the safety of new (nano) materials.  相似文献

The various forms of carbon used in composite preparation include mainly carbon-black, carbon nanotubes and nanofibers, graphite and fullerenes. This review presents a detailed literature survey on the various modifications of the carbon nanostructures for nanocomposite preparation focusing upon the works published in the last decade. The modifications of each form of carbon are considered, with a compilation of structure-property relationships of carbon-based polymer nanocomposites. Modifications in both bulk and surface modifications have been reviewed, with comparison of their mechanical, thermal, electrical and barrier properties. A synopsis of the applications of these advanced materials is presented, pointing out gaps to motivate potential research in this field.  相似文献

The data on the existence and physicochemical characteristics of uncharged single element chemical compounds formed by nitrogen atoms and containing more than two nuclides of this element (from N4 to N120, oligomeric and polymeric polynitrogens) have been systematized and generalized. It has been noticed that these data have a predominantly predictive character and were obtained mainly using quantum chemical calculations of various levels (HF, DFT, MP, CCSD etc.). The possibility of the practical application of these single element compounds has been considered. The review mainly covers articles published in the last 25 years. The characteristics of projects in the nanotechnology industry are considered from the viewpoint of resource provision and conditions of realization, and the specifics of project management problems in the nanotechnology industry are shown. The advantages and disadvantages of the most widespread project management methods are shown, and the possibilities of their application to project management problems in the subject area are evaluated. A project simulation approach based on the use of temporal logic tools is proposed. This paper presents a 6-month integrated learning project, suitable for chemical engineering students in their last academic course (4 years bachelor). Within the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU), the performance of the project was established offering to the students the possibility of developing practical aspects studies in order to introduce them to the engineering profession. The general goals of the project have been to develop basic competences, such as the capability of finding and synthesizing the available information, the active participation in a team work, the improvement of the communications (oral and written) skill, the time management, the problem identification, strategy raising, the autonomy, in summary, to improve the students’ performance in multitask problem solving using a team work approach. The proposed educational objectives were achieved. The participant students were positive when asked whether, overall, the development of this project was “worth the effort” indicating as the most important benefit the developing of considerable indepth understanding and expertise in their work field.  相似文献
