The inhibition effect of two pyrazine derivatives of 2-aminopyrazine (AP) and 2-amino-5-bromopyrazine (ABP) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M hydrochloric acid (HCl) was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization curves, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results show that both AP and ABP are good inhibitors, and inhibition efficiency follows the order: ABP > AP. The adsorption of each inhibitor on CRS surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Potentiodynamic polarization curves show that two pyrazine derivatives act as mixed-type inhibitors. EIS spectra exhibit one capacitive loop and confirm the inhibitive ability.  相似文献

In this paper, the inhibition ability of benzimidazole and its derivatives against the corrosion of mild steel in 1M HCl solution was studied. The change of impedance parameters observed by variation of inhibitors concentration within the range of 50-250 ppm was an indication of their adsorption. The thermodynamic adsorption parameters proposed that these inhibitors retard both cathodic and anodic processes through physical adsorption and blocking the active corrosion sites. The adsorption of these compounds obeyed the Langmuir’s adsorption isotherm. The inhibition efficiency was increased with inhibitor concentration in the order of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole > 2-methylbenzimidazole > benzimidazole, which is in accordance with the variation of apparent activation energy of corrosion.  相似文献

Sodium tungstate (Na2WO4) as a corrosion inhibitor of cold rolled steel (CRS) in peracetic acid (PAA) solution was investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). All the data obtained from the experiments indicate that Na2WO4 is capable of inhibiting the corrosion of CRS in PAA solution. Polarization data show that Na2WO4 behaves as an anodic type inhibitor in PAA solution. Adsorption of Na2WO4 is found to follow the Temkin adsorption isotherm. The calculated free energy of adsorption (ΔGads) probably indicates that both physical adsorption and chemical adsorption may take place in the adsorption process.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of nitrotetrazolium blue chloride (NTBC) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 0.5 M H2SO4 was investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results show that NTBC is a good inhibitor, and the adsorption of NTBC on CRS surface obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Polarization curves show that NTBC acts as a mixed-type inhibitor. EIS spectra consist of large capacitive loop at high frequencies followed by a small inductive one at low frequency values, and charge transfer resistance increases with the inhibitor concentration.  相似文献

The synergism between rare earth cerium(IV) ion and vanillin on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M HCl solution was first investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometer (UV–vis), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and atomic force microscope (AFM). The results revealed that vanillin had a moderate inhibitive effect, and the adsorption of vanillin obeyed the Temkin adsorption isotherm. For rare earth Ce4+, it had a negligible effect. However, incorporation of Ce4+ with vanillin significantly improved the inhibition performance, and produced strong synergistic inhibition effect. Depending on the results, the synergism mechanism was proposed.  相似文献

The effects of two biodegradable corrosion inhibitors derived from vanillin and aminophenol (Meta: VPAP and Para: VOAP) on the corrosion of carbon steel in 1 M HCl solution were examined. The efficiency of these inhibitors on carbon steel corrosion increased by increasing the concentration and decreased by increasing the temperature. The inhibitors adsorbed on carbon steel physically and obeyed the Langmuir isotherm. The potentiodynamic measurements showed mixed-type inhibitor. The geometry of the inhibitors showed that VPAP has slightly higher efficiency in corrosion inhibition than VOAP. The inhibitors showed good biodegradability in the environment within 28 days.  相似文献

The corrosion inhibition effect of 2-[4-(methylthio) phenyl] acetohydrazide (HYD), 2-{[4-(methylthio) phenyl] acetyl} hydrazinecarbothioamide (TAD) and 5-[4-(methylthio) benzyl]-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (TRD) on steel in 1.0 M HCl was investigated by mass loss and electrochemical methods. The effect of concentration, temperature and immersion time was studied. The results indicated that the compounds are efficient, mixed type and pursue Flory–Huggins adsorption isotherm. The inhibition efficiency at lower concentration of inhibitor decreased with temperature while at higher concentration, it is retained and the calculated free energy attributes this to comprehensive adsorption. The efficiency stands in the order TRD > TAD > HYD and is confirmed by the Quantum studies.  相似文献

The effect of three Schiff base compounds with increasing number of coordination sites, namely, 2-{(E)-[(2-hydroxyethyl)imino]methyl} phenol (I), 2-[(E)-({2-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]ethyl}imino)methyl]phenol (II) and 2,2′-{iminobis[ethane-2,1-diylnitrilo(E)methylylidene]}diphenol (III) have been investigated at 298 K by weight loss measurements, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The inhibition efficiencies obtained from all methods employed are in good agreement. Results show compound III to be the best inhibitor with a mean efficiency of 93% at 10−2 M additive concentration. Studies showed all three compounds to act as mixed type inhibitors.  相似文献

The synergistic inhibition effect of 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) and iodide ion (I) on the corrosion of cold rolled steel (CRS) in 1.0 M H3PO4 solution was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. The results show that BAP has a moderate inhibitive effect. However, incorporation of BAP with I improves the inhibition performance significantly. The adsorption of BAP in the absence and presence of I obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm. BAP and BAP/I mixture act as mixed-type inhibitors. A probable synergism mechanism is proposed.  相似文献

Corrosion inhibition of C-steel in 2 M HCl was investigated in the absence and presence of different concentrations of some thiosemicarbazide derivatives namely, 1-ethyl-4(2,4-dinitrophenyl) thiosemicarbazide (I), 1,4-diphenylthiosemicarbazide (II), 1-ethyl-4-phenylthiosemicarbazide (III). Weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques were employed. Impedance measurements showed that the double-layer capacitance decreased and charge-transfer resistance increased with increase in the inhibitors concentration and hence increasing in inhibition efficiency. Potentiodynamic polarization study showed that all the inhibitors act as mixed-type inhibitors. Results obtained reveal that the inhibition efficiency (%IE) follows the sequence: I > II > III. The adsorption of these compounds on C-steel surface obeys Temkin’s adsorption isotherm and has a chemisorptions mechanism.  相似文献

The behaviour of 1,3-dibenzylthiourea (DBTU) and 1-benzyl-3-diisopropylthiourea (DPTU) have been investigated as carbon steel corrosion inhibitors in HCl solution by weight loss measurements, potentiodynamic polarization curves, electrochemical impedance and scanning electron microscopy analysis. Quantum chemical calculation was applied to correlate electronic structure parameters of thiourea derivatives with their inhibition performances. DPTU results were slightly superior to those obtained in the presence of DBTU, showing that the replacement of one benzyl group for two isopropyl groups enhances the inhibitory properties. The 1,3-dibenzylurea derivative has also been studied in order to assess the importance of the sulphur atom to the inhibitory effect.  相似文献

Inhibition of mild steel corrosion in 1 M HCl solution by Pheniramine drug was studied using weight loss, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, linear polarization resistance, and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. The values of activation energy (Ea) and different thermodynamic parameters such as adsorption equilibrium constant (Kads), free energy of adsorption , adsorption enthalpy and adsorption entropy were calculated and discussed. The adsorption process of studied drug on mild steel surface obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements showed that Pheniramine is mixed-type inhibitor. Further, theoretical calculations were carried out and relations between computed parameters and experimental inhibition efficiency were discussed.  相似文献
