Streptococcus bovis 148 was found to produce L-(+)-lactic acid directly from soluble and raw starch substrates at pH 6.0. Productivity was highest at 37 degrees C, with 14.7 g/l lactic acid produced from 20 g/l raw starch. The yield and optical purity of L-lactic acid were 0.88 and 95.6%, respectively. 相似文献

In a culture of Aspergillus oryzae MK-107-39 in a 3-l airlift bioreactor, kojic acid was not produced when glucose/wheat germ medium (GM1) was used. However, when a jar fermentor was used, the kojic acid yield was high. A suitable medium for culture in an airlift bioreactor consisting of partially hydrolyzed corn starch and a small amount of corn steep liquor (CSL) (SM1) was selected. In the cultivation in the airlift bioreactor using SM1, nearly 40 g/l of kojic acid was produced, which was the same as the amount produced in the jar fermentor containing GM1. The optimum aeration rate for the airlift bioreactor was 2.0 vvm (0.66 cm/s of superficial linear velocity (Vs)). The cost of SM1 using the airlift bioreactor was reduced to 40% that of GM1 using the jar fermentor. Furthermore, the energy cost of kojic acid production using SM1 in the airlift bioreactor was less than one-fourth of that for the jar fermentor using GM1. 相似文献

Food-grade heterologous production of pediocin PA-1 in nisin-producing and non-nisin-producing Lactococcus lactis strains, previously selected because of their technological properties for cheese making, was achieved. Plasmid pGA1, which contains the complete pediocin operon under the control of the strong P32 promoter and is devoid of any antibiotic marker, was introduced into L. lactis ESI 153 and L. lactis ESI 515 (Nis+). Transformation of L. lactis ESI 515 with pGA1 did not affect its ability to produce nisin. The antimicrobial activity of the pediocin-producing transformants on the survival of Listeria innocua SA1 during cheese ripening was also investigated. Cheeses were manufactured from milk inoculated with 1% of the lactic culture and with or without approximately 4 log CFU/ml of the Listeria strain. L. lactis ESI 153, L. lactis ESI 515, and their transformants (L. lactis GA1 and GA2, respectively) were used as starter cultures. At the end of the ripening period, counts of L. innocua in cheeses made with the bacteriocin-producing lactococcal strains were below 50 CFU/g in the L. lactis GA1 cheeses and below 25 CFU/g in the L. lactis GA2 ones, compared with 3.7 million CFU/g for the controls without nisin or pediocin production. 相似文献

88 g/L lactic acid was produced from waste potato starch (equivalent to 100 g/L glucose) in a bubble column reactor using appropriate acid-adapted precultures of Rhizopus arrhizus. Further experiment showed that repeated dilution of cultures caused the decrease of lactic acid concentration and productivity due to formation of large fungal pellets. 相似文献
