Many bottlenecks in drug discovery have been addressed with the advent of new assay and instrument technologies. However, storing and processing chemical compounds for screening remains a challenge for many drug discovery laboratories. Although automated storage and retrieval systems are commercially available for medium to large collections of chemical samples, these samples are usually stored at a central site and are not readily accessible to satellite research labs.Drug discovery relies on the rapid testing of new chemical compounds in relevant biological assays. Therefore, newly synthesized compounds must be readily available in various formats to biologists performing screening assays. Until recently, our compounds were distributed in screw cap vials to assayists who would then manually transfer and dilute each sample in an “assay-ready” compound plate for screening. The vials would then be managed by the individuals in an ad hoc manner.To relieve the assayist from searching for compounds and preparing their own assay-ready compound plates, a newly customized compound storage system with an ordering software application was implemented at our research facility that eliminates these bottlenecks. The system stores and retrieves compounds in 1 mL-mini-tubes or microtiter plates, facilitates compound searching by identifier or structure, orders compounds at varying concentrations in specified wells on 96- or 384-well plates, requests the addition of controls (vehicle or reference compounds), etc. The orders are automatically processed and delivered to the assayist the following day for screening. An overview of our system will demonstrate that we minimize compound waste and ensure compound integrity and availability.  相似文献

Building Information modeling (BIM) has the potential to advance and transform facilities Operation and Maintenance (O&M) by providing a platform for facility managers to retrieve, analyze, and process building information in a digitalized 3D environment. Currently, because of rapid developments in BIM, researchers and industry professionals need a state-of-the-art overview of BIM implementation and research in facility O&M. This paper presents a review of recent publications on the topic. It aims to evaluate and summarize the current BIM-O&M research and application developments from a facility manager's point of view, analyze research trends, and identify research gaps and promising future research directions. The scope of this research includes the academic articles, industry reports and guidelines pertaining to using BIM to improve selected facility O&M activities, including maintenance and repair, emergency management, energy management, change/relocation management, and security. The content analysis results show that research on BIM for O&M is still in its early stage and most of the current research has focused on energy management. We have identified that the interoperability in the BIM-O&M context is still a challenge and adopting the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Framework is a potential starting point to address this issue. More studies involving surveys are needed to understand the underlying O&M principles for BIM implementation – data requirements, areas of inefficiencies, the process changes. In addition, more studies on the return on investment of the innovative systems are required to justify the value of BIM-O&M applications and an improved Life Cycle Cost Analysis method is critical for such justifications.  相似文献

为了改善航空发动机高空模拟试车台(简称高空台)液压加载系统的控制性能,解决手动调节控制精度低且闭环控制快速性较差的问题,提出了一种将开环模糊控制与闭环PID控制相结合的智能复合控制方法。首先,结合高空台液压加载试验特点和设备特性,利用真实试验数据基于最小二乘系统辨识搭建了系统的分段线性模型。其次,使用频域法设计参数调度的PID控制器,解决了手动调节控制精度低的问题。最后,结合试验操作人员提供的经验知识和历史试验数据结论搭建了模糊开环控制器,设计控制器选择模块和积分补偿模块,将模糊开环控制器与闭环PID控制器相结合形成智能复合控制器。通过仿真验证得出,智能复合控制器的控制效果在精度上明显优于人工手动调节,在快速性上明显优于PID控制器,调节时间缩短了39%~87%。  相似文献

对于目前煤炭税费征管系统建设的3种主要模式,即捆绑式税费征管模式、计量站式税费征管模式和源头式税费征管模式的定义、处理流程、适用情况及特点进行了分析,并从适用范围、投资成本、建设效果等方面对3种模式进行了对比,指出煤炭税费征管系统的建设需综合考虑煤矿当地的地理环境、道路因素、投资估算、预期效果等因素,选择合适的税费征管模式。  相似文献

This paper describes a comprehensive accident data base which covers consumer products associated with accidents in and around the home. Each year data on some 50 000 to 60 000 cases distributed among 800 different products or features of the home are recorded and available for access. In addition to annual published summaries, analyses of specified data sub-sets are readily available. Such analyses can include case-listings which frequently provide considerable insight into the accidents. However, in more complex accidents these case listings may be inadequate, hence a facility has been incorporated in the data collection system to allow selected cases to be recontacted so that more details can be obtained and the product examined, if it is available. Two examples where this facility has been used (accidents involving tins and tin openers and accidents involving buggies) are discussed in relation to the methodologies involved and the preliminary results which have been obtained.  相似文献

面向当前对创新型、应用型、复合型工程科技人才的需求,高校的重要任务就是要培养具有可持续竞争力的综合型、复合型人才,而如何才能培养出这样的人才呢?于是高校的人才培养模式面临着巨大的改革需求。基于OBE理念下,以软件工程专业为例,采取以企业人才的需求为导向目标,人才培养的要求不再是传统的、单一的知识体系。基于OBE的人才培养模式是一种多学科、多实践的复合型,既要横向增加信息互联网要求,又要纵向延展系统集成的、甚至管理科学的能力要求,最终形成了一个人才培养的多元立体的复合空间。通过开展校企合作,课程建设,师资队伍建设,校内外综合考核等联合培养模式,对高等教育的人才培养模式进行了深入的研究与实践。  相似文献

The recent deregulation of telecommunication industry by the Taiwanese government has brought about the acute competition for Internet Service Providers (ISP). Taiwan’s ISP industry is characterized by the heavy pressure for raising revenue after hefty capital investments of last decade and the lack of knowledge to develop competitive strategies. To attract subscribers, all ISP dealers are making an all-out effort to improve their service management. This study proposes a Business Intelligence process for ISP dealers in Taiwan to assist management in developing effective service management strategies. We explore the customers’ usage characteristics and preference knowledge through applying the attribute-oriented induction (AOI) method on IP traffic data of users. Using the self-organizing map (SOM) method, we are able to divide customers into clusters with different usage behavior patterns. We then apply RFM modeling to calibrate customers’ value of each cluster, which will enable the management to develop direct and effective marketing strategies. For network resource management, this research mines the facility utilization over various administrative districts of the region, which could assist management in planning for effective network facilities investment. With actual data from one major ISP, we develop a BI decision support system with visual presentation, which is well received by its management staff.  相似文献

In electric power supply, railway, and other companies with many facilities, facility management is a laborious task. To realize a computerized facility management system, numerous paper-based facility maps should be stored in a database. In this paper, we present a system that constructs a facility management database by interpretation of paper-based facility maps. This system can automatically recognize structured figures with variable shapes on maps, while conventional methods cannot recognize these figures. And this system can easily generate relational data between facilities and character strings on maps. We compare our recognition method of structured figures with variable shapes with a conventional recognition method, and show the effectiveness of our system. In this paper, a compound cosine function neural network controller for manipulators is presented based on the combination of a cosine function and a unipolar sigmoid function. The compound control scheme based on a proportional-differential (PD) feedback control plus the cosine function neural network feedforward control is used for the tracking control of manipulators. The advantages of the compound control are that the system model does not need to be identified beforehand in the manipulator control system and it can achieve better adaptive control in an on-line continuous learning manner. The simulation results for the two-link manipulator show that the proposed compound control has higher tracking accuracy and better robustness than the conventional PD controllers in the position trajectory tracking control for the manipulator. Therefore, the compound cosine function neural network controller provides a novel approach for the manipulator control with uncertain nonlinear problems.  相似文献

Dealing disruptions has increasingly attracted researchers’ attention in the last decades due to recent events: weather deregulation, natural disasters, financial crisis, etc. Researchers often dealt with the strategic aspect of the problem while making facility location decisions to build a robust supply chain. In this paper we address the flexibility aspect. We consider the problem of allocating demand arising from a set of products to a set of dedicated facilities. The facilities are subject to disruption and the demand is then lost. To mitigate disruption impacts, we consider the use of a super facility that can hold the demand of products when the dedicated facilities are under failure. In systems with identical products and facilities, we propose an algorithm that can be used to determine the optimal capacity of the super facility so as to minimize the sum of capacity investment, demand allocation and lost sales cost. Finally we compare the performance of the super facility configuration to that of the single chain configuration. The single chain refers to a facility configuration where each facility is configured to fulfill only two products and each product can be assigned to only two facilities and the whole system forms a closed chain.  相似文献

将投资限制引入经典约束p-中位问题,提出带投资的约束P-中位问题,该问题更适用于交通、物流等领域的设施选址。在深入分析带投资约束P-中位问题的数学模型的基础上,首先提出了适用于该问题求解的局部搜索策略;其次,将局部搜索策略与拉格朗日启发式算法和蚁群算法相结合,设计了求解该问题的拉格朗日混合蚁群算法。实验结果表明:带投资的约束P-中位问题能够根据投资金额规划不同的投资方案;且提出的混合蚁群算法较大程度上提高了蚁群算法和拉格朗日启发式算法的求解精度,具有较好的收敛性。  相似文献
