Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) are becoming more popular than pure electric ones, nowadays. This is because of their better performance, economic advantages and higher operating range. However, their potential advantages extremely depend on their system design, most importantly their battery system design. Batteries’ life requirements as well as the cost of replacing them at the end of their life period, currently limit manufacturers to bring HEVs into play, even though their fuel economy reduces their everyday cost considerably. Generally, inappropriate discharge/charge patterns would result in loss in batteries’ life. In the present study, an optimization based control strategy has been proposed for the series HEVs in order to maximize the efficiency of the power-train while minimizing the loss. A genetic algorithm is implemented to optimally evaluate the control algorithm's parameters. The approach is then compared to two main control strategies, namely thermostatic control strategy and power follower control strategy. The computational procedure of the genetic algorithm is discussed, and a simulation study based on a model of a series hybrid electric vehicle is given to validate the genetic algorithm results.  相似文献

This article presents a critique of the recent contribution to Energy Policy (November 2001) by Wiser, Fowlie and Holt, entitled, “Public goods and private interests: understanding non-residential demand for green power”. In their article, the aforementioned authors explore the proposition that business and other organisations adopt green power, and will pay even a premium for it, because of what the authors describe as “altruism”. According to the article below, although Wiser et al. address an important problem and raise interesting issues, their attempt at challenging received theory and existing paradigms is undermined by the manner in which their research was undertaken. Deficiencies arise with regard to survey techniques, data preparation, model specification, and statistical methods. The deficiencies in their research methods cast doubt upon their findings, facilitating alternative interpretations of their empiricism.  相似文献

This work concerns the thermal studies and applications of suspensions of nanoparticles in fluids, that is, nanofluids. They have been traditionally used for heat transfer applications due to their low thermal conductivity, taking into account the rising demands of modern technology. They show substantial augmentation of their thermal properties and their distinctive features offer more potential for many applications. Most of the publications on nanofluids are about understanding their behavior so that they can be utilized. The straight enhancement of nanofluids is paramount in many industrial applications, nuclear reactors, transportation, and electronics as well as in biomedicine and food. Our theoretical research focuses on presenting the wide range of applications that involve nanofluids, prominence on their improved properties that are controllable. It is the specific characteristics that these nanofluids possess that make them suitable for such applications. We are certain that this paper will be used by researchers in the nanofield.  相似文献

Fears about future petroleum scarcity and the need to establish priorities for the development of new energy technologies have extended the time horizons of energy policy and demand forecasts. One recent long-term demand forecast for the UK is that by Chesshire and Surrey. Although they adopted a sectoral approach their study leaves some questions unanswered. Do they succeed in their aim of making all their assumptions fully explicit? How sensitive are their estimates to changes in assumptions and policies? Are important problems and ‘turning points’ fully identified in the period up to and immediately beyond their time horizon of 2000? The production of hydrogen from electrocatalytic water splitting using a clean energy source has become a sustainable route to overcome the problems related to fossil fuels. Therefore, it is essential to develop a non-precious, stable and highly efficient electrocatalyst. Nickel and cobalt sulphide have gained much attention as hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts due to their pH stability, low cost and high activity. But the application of these sulphides is limited due to high over-potentials, low surface area and less catalytic active sites available for HER. Furthermore, Nickel and cobalt sulphide can be coupled with different functional components to enhance their catalytic activity. This comprehensive review focuses on the progress made so far to enhance the electrochemical properties of nickel and cobalt sulphides and their composites with various active materials. The comparative survey of their HER activities is made in terms of their electrocatalytic performance parameters.  相似文献

Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) and levulinic acid (LA) are two of the most promising chemicals derived from biomass owing to their convertibility into a large number of chemicals having applications in diverse industries. Their transition from niche products to mass-produced chemicals, however, requires their production from sustainable biomass feedstocks at low costs using environment-friendly techniques. In this review, the numerous reaction systems that have been developed to produce HMF and LA from various substrates have been looked at and their merits, demerits and requirements for commercialisation outlined. Special attention has been paid to microwave irradiation-heated systems due to their dual advantages of high product yields and low environmental footprint.  相似文献

近年来石油公司面临着前所未有的挑战。通过分析埃克森美孚、英荷壳牌、BP、雪佛龙、道达尔和康菲6家国外大石油公司1998~2008年的年报数据可以看出,国外大石油公司上游投资规模不断增长,2008年平均投资比1998年增长约3倍。其中约80%的资金用于勘探开发,收购投资约占20%。但勘探活动本质上并没有大幅的增加,勘探投资绝对规模增长迅速主要是由于勘探服务的价格上涨。2008年国外大石油公司新增天然气储量占新增总储量的比重达到近年来的最高值,约59%,超过了原油,间接说明各大石油公司更加重视上游天然气业务,加大了天然气的勘探开发和收购投资。国外大石油公司在各地区的投资趋于分散化,立足于北美和欧洲地区,进一步重视在亚太、中东和非洲地区的发展。通过归纳总结,国外大石油公司的上游投资趋势及策略体现为:一方面通过勘探和收购获得新增储量,同时适时提高产量,以协调公司的长远利益与短期利益;另一方面,注重风险控制,促进资产多样化,为公司的长远战略发展奠定基础。建议我国石油公司应注重勘探和资产收购相结合,以确保储量增长;重视上游资产收购的风险控制;调整投资地区分布结构,进而增强自身在全球的地位和国际竞争力。  相似文献
