Polyphenols are a structurally diverse group of compounds that occur widely throughout the plant kingdom. Polyphenolic compounds
are ubiquitous in all plant organs and are, therefore, an integral part of the human diet. Recent interest in food phenolics
has increased greatly because of the antioxidant and free radical-scavenging abilities associated with some phenolics and
their potential effects on human health.
Most of the polyphenols in green tea are commonly known as catechins. The regular consumption of green tea is related to benefits
in some diseases as atherosclerosis and cancer. Although consumption of dietary polyphenols such as flavonoids has been suggested
to have beneficial biological effects, there are considerable evidences to suggest that such compounds are not without risk

观察藏茶对人体的保健作用。符合纳入排除标准的自愿受试者31例,按6 g/d以开水重复冲泡饮用藏茶3个月。试饮前后分别检测体重、血压、血清总胆固醇、甘油三酯、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇、高密度脂蛋白胆固醇、血糖和血尿酸。符合纳入排除标准的自愿受试者50例,按6 g/d以开水重复冲泡饮用藏茶15 d。记录受试者试饮前后摄入纤维类食物的比例、排便次数、排便状况及粪便性状。结果表明:试验结束时受试者体重、血清甘油三酯、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇、血糖、血尿酸显著下降(P0.05)。试饮藏茶前后受试者摄入纤维类食物的比例无显著性差异。饮茶后每周排便次数增加(P0.05),排便状况积分和粪便性状积分显著下降(P0.05)。藏茶具有减肥、辅助降低血清甘油三酯、调节血糖和血尿酸、通便等保健作用,且对人体无不良影响。 相似文献

Tea has been widely consumed around the world for thousands of years and drinking tea is a daily habit for people of all ages. Tea is a major source of flavanoids, which have become well known as antioxidants. Tea also contains caffeine and theanine, which have been found to associate with health benefits. Many animal and epidemiological studies have been conducted to investigate the link between tea consumption and human health. However, common questions that arise about tea consumption include: whether all teas are the same, why drinking tea is linked with health benefits, how do the different ways of tea preparation impact on availability of tea components, how much and how long a person should consume tea to obtain health benefits, and whether there is any negative health effect associated with drinking tea. To answer these questions, this paper outlines the tea components and their link to human health, discusses major factors affecting availability of tea components in a tea cup, and reviews the latest epidemiological evidence linking tea consumption to human health. 相似文献
