Pulsed digital holographic interferometry with 694- and 347-nm wavelengths   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
A method for deformation analysis and shape measurement based on digital holography is presented. Two wavelengths, 694 and 347 nm, are used. The object is illuminated with the two wavelengths at the same time, and digital holograms are recorded on a CCD chip. The information corresponding to the two wavelengths is separated in the Fourier domain, and the phase corresponding to the wave fronts is calculated. By recording holograms with two different wavelengths at the same time, we can get measurements of deformations or shape with different sensitivities. Experimental results are presented.  相似文献

Application of single-beam reflective laser optical interferometry for oil films and droplets in water detection and characterization is discussed. Oil films can be detected by the appearance of characteristic interference patterns. Analytical expressions describing intensity distribution in these interference patterns allow determination of oil film thickness, size of oil droplets, and distance to the oil film from the observation plane. Results from these analyses indicate that oil spill aging and breakup can be monitored in real time by analyzing time-dependent holographic fringe patterns. Interferometric methods of oil spill detection and characterization can be automated using digital holography with three-dimensional reconstruction of the time-changing oil spill topography. In this effort, the interferometric methods were applied to samples from Chevron oil and British Petroleum MC252 oil obtained during the Deep Water Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  相似文献

A phase retrieval method for microscopy using multiple illumination wavelengths is proposed. A fast algorithm suitable for calculations with high numerical aperture is used for the iterative retrieval of the object wavefront. The advantages and limitations of the technique are systematically analyzed and demonstrated by both simulation and experimental results.  相似文献

It is well known that there is a lack of experimental results on the thickness distributions of the displacements, strains and stresses in sandwich beams in bending. The present work aims to fill partially this lacuna through an experimental investigation. Use is made of a technique based on holographic interferometry. Some experimental results quantifying the thickness distributions of the displacements are presented and the limitations of the adopted technique are discussed. The investigation also highlights some interesting effect of the core deformability, which are essential in understanding the failure phenomena of sandwich structures subjected to concentrated loads.  相似文献

Visible holographic interferometry is generally too sensitive for the measurement of large deformations. We present a holographic method that permits an increase in the range of measurable deformations. It requires the use of two different wavelengths, λ(1) and λ(2), and two holograms in series. We develop the theoretical basis of a method that permits the obtention of an interferogram as if a longer equivalent wavelength, λ(eq) = λ(1)λ(2)/|λ(1) -λ(2)|, were used. The method is experimentally tested by use of a setup that can be easily converted into a classical single-wavelength holographic interferometer, permitting comparison of the interferograms of the same deformation produced with both methods. The interpretation of Raman spectra of GaSb can be complicated by the presence of a so-called surface space-charge region (SSCR), resulting in an inhomogeneous near-surface Raman scattering environment. To fully interpret Raman spectra, it is important to have an understanding of the SSCR profile relative to the Raman probe depth. However, a priori determination of even the actual SSCR width is not always possible for GaSb under a wide range of doping levels. The primary objective of this report is to provide a convenient reference to aid in the determination of relative contributions to an observed GaSb Raman spectrum of SSCR scattering and bulk scattering for a range of excitation wavelengths, doping levels, and SSCR widths and types. Raman spectra of both n-type and p-type doped GaSb epilayers were obtained using 488 nm, 514.5 nm, 647.1 nm, and 752.55 nm excitation radiation. Both n-type and p-type doped GaSb epilayers were selected for investigation because these layers exhibit the two different SSCR types that are typically encountered with as-grown GaSb and related materials. A range of doping levels were examined for each doping type so as to examine the effects of a varying SSCR width on the observed spectra. A secondary objective of this report is to demonstrate the performance of a spectroscopic system based on 752.55 nm excitation that is sensitive to bulk carrier properties in n-type and p-type doped GaSb epilayers over a wide doping range, unlike visible-wavelength-based optical systems.  相似文献

Time-average holographic interferometry has been used to observe modal patterns of acoustically excited thin plates and shells having shapes which are schematically related to shapes occurring in the coats of animals. We have developed an accurate and robust phase-estimation method in phase-shifting electronic speckle pattern interferometry. Unlike other methods that assume a constant phase within a fitting window, our method treats the phase variation with a gradient. A cost function that can utilize the information of pixel positions is formulated on the basis of a least-squares criterion. Powell's iteration method is applied to it to derive the phase and its gradient. An automatic consistency-checking routine and an algorithm that improves the initial guess of the iteration are developed for severe situations with large noise and steep phase variations.  相似文献

The recording of holographic volume and surface-relief gratings in a photorefractive crystal using a photo-thermoplastic (PTP) holographic camera with an image-bearing signal beam leads to the appearance of two Bragg and two or more non-Bragg diffracted beams that show the transformed images in each beam (rotation and angular amplification of images). Using this real-time mode of interferometry, the hologram is retrieved with a deformed object beam, resulting in the appearance of fringes with a proper phase shift in each of four diffracted beams. This one-shot (one-exposure) phase-shifting interferometry results in clarification of the object wave-front information (for example, from surface deformation) and solution of the sign ambiguity problem. This procedure demonstrates that high-resolution holographic imaging of the PTP holographic camera static deformations in the order of ~0.1?mm can be revealed on the diffusion reflection surface. In addition, it was demonstrated that using the PTP materials could achieve holographic recording and imaging through phase aberration, with the image appearing in the non-Bragg diffraction order.  相似文献

A novel, switched, photonic delay-line ternary design combined with a wavelength-multiplexed transmit-receive beam-former architecture is proposed. One-dimensional antenna beam steering by use of a single-channel, wavelength-dependent switched photonic delay line in cascade with a multichannel wavelength-independent switched photonic delay line is proposed for hardware-compressed, phased-array antenna control with subarray antenna partitioning. The Fourier transform relationship between the reflected light froma Bragg grating and the complex spatial modulation of the Bragg grating is used to produce a distributed strain sensing system. A tunable external cavity diode laser along with a reference reflector in anoptical fiber are used to produce a measurement of the phase and amplitude of the reflected light from the modulated Bragg grating as a function of wavelength. The system is demonstrated with 22 Bragg gratings in a single fiber on a cantilever beam and compared with foil strain gauge readings.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate and characterize a memory module that features selective page erasure and readout persistence using the localized recording method in doubly doped LiNbO(3). Pages of information can be selectively erased without partially erasing the whole memory. Data pages can be written over erased pages multiple times. Information is read millions of times before refreshing is required. We quantify the optical quality of the holograms by measuring their signal-to-noise ratio for a memory size up to 100 holograms. A compact phase-conjugate readout architecture is also presented and experimentally demonstrated.  相似文献

We present a compact, fast, and versatile fiber-optic probe system for real-time determination of tissue optical properties from spatially resolved continuous-wave diffuse reflectance measurements. The system collects one set of reflectance data from six source-detector distances at four arbitrary wavelengths with a maximum overall sampling rate of 100 Hz. Multivariate calibration techniques based on two-dimensional polynomial fitting are employed to extract and display the absorption and reduced scattering coefficients in real-time mode. The four wavelengths of the current configuration are 660, 785, 805, and 974 nm, respectively. Cross-validation tests on a 6 x 7 calibration matrix of Intralipid-dye phantoms showed that the mean prediction error at, e.g., 785 nm was 2.8% for the absorption coefficient and 1.3% for the reduced scattering coefficient. The errors are relative to the range of the optical properties of the phantoms at 785 nm, which were 0-0.3/cm for the absorption coefficient and 6-16/cm for the reduced scattering coefficient. Finally, we also present and discuss results from preliminary skin tissue measurements.  相似文献

The problem of predicting and interpreting the results of interferometric optical experiments involving pulse trains is addressed. Specifically, a cyclostationary field arising from the modulation of a stationary, stochastic source is considered in the classical Young's experiment. It is shown that the effects of modulation may be identical to unrelated statistical interference effects.  相似文献

We discuss two types of holographic interferometer that contain photorefractive recording media. The first type contains two beams interacting in a photorefractive medium. The second type utilizes a single beam and relies on self-pumped phase conjugation from a photorefractive crystal to make phase changes appear as intensity changes. We show both theoretically and experimentally that the first type can be analyzed in a straightforward manner; however, the second type cannot be approximated as simply a special case of the first type, as one may n?ively suspect.  相似文献
