Special attention is given to interactive displays with contactless control; in particular, to photo‐sensitive displays. A number of photo‐sensitive display cell designs are considered, as well as the problems related to the production of such cells. In this study, a prototype of web-based distributed problem-solving environment (W-DPSE) is presented to facilitate computer aided engineering (CAE) technologies. This system provides an effective approach to distributed modeling and simulation, and in addition, to support networked collaboration such that scientists around the world could interactively, visually and experimentally explore their daily design work through the proposed system. The W-DPSE system is constructed as a three-tiered architecture, consisting of three major layers: a web client presentation interface (WCPI), computing solver servers (CSS), and a system management server (SMS). All the components within this architecture are implemented with an object-oriented approach—Java while transparent communication across these three layers is attained through the remote method invocation (RMI) technology. To generalize the applicability of the system so as to accommodate interdisciplinary and diversified applications, a novel and efficient interface is developed for wrapping legacy computation codes, including C and FORTRAN etc., as a Java component. Note that in the interface, the communication mechanisms between Java objects and legacy codes are implemented by way of java native interface (JNI) and Unix inter-process communication (IPC) provided by OS. At last, the applicability of the W-DPSE system is extensively confirmed through the practices of two engineering applications: topology optimization of structures and pollutant transport simulations of coastal waters.  相似文献

This paper investigates the usability of Future Internet technologies (aka “Generic Enablers of the Future Internet”) in the context of environmental applications. The paper incorporates the best aspects of the state-of-the-art in environmental informatics with geospatial solutions and scalable processing capabilities of Internet-based tools. It specifically targets the promotion of the “Environmental Observation Web” as an observation-centric paradigm for building the next generation of environmental applications. In the Environmental Observation Web, the great majority of data are considered as observations. These can be generated from sensors (hardware), numerical simulations (models), as well as by humans (human sensors). Independently from the observation provenance and application scope, data can be represented and processed in a standardised way in order to understand environmental processes and their interdependencies. The development of cross-domain applications is then leveraged by technologies such as Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Big Data Processing and Analytics. For example, “the cloud” can satisfy the peak-performance needs of applications which may occasionally use large amounts of processing power at a fraction of the price of a dedicated server farm. The paper also addresses the need for Specific Enablers that connect mainstream Future Internet capabilities with sensor and geospatial technologies. Main categories of such Specific Enablers are described with an overall architectural approach for developing environmental applications and exemplar use cases.  相似文献

针对已有的Web协同应用中的一致性维护方法会带来严重的服务器耗费问题,提出了一种基于文档划分的一致性维护模型。该模型在操作转换算法SLOT(symmetric linear operational transformation)的基础上引入文档划分的思想。从降低服务器通信和内存耗费的角度出发,结合用户数量和操作频率的变化,给出一种动态的文档划分策略及其实现算法。仿真实验结果表明,该模型可以有效地降低大规模协同应用中服务器的通信和内存耗费。  相似文献

In this study, we develop interactive approaches to find a satisfactory alternative of a decision maker (DM) having a quasiconvex preference function where the alternative set changes progressively. In this environment, we keep searching the available set of alternatives and estimating the preference function of the DM. As new alternatives emerge, we make better use of the available preference information and eventually converge to a preferred alternative of the DM. We test our approaches on biobjective, multi‐item, multi‐round auction problems. The results show that our approaches work well in terms of both the preference function value of the obtained solution and the amount of preference information required.  相似文献

This paper is aimed at summarizing the current state-of-the-art in the development of agent-based solutions in three areas connected with industrial production, namely in holonic control, production management and virtual enterprises. This paper shows how the results in these three sub-areas are converging and discusses how the agent-oriented technologies could provide a good background for developing a unifying approach. Two industrial applications of agent-based systems are described in some detail.
