We derive a general expression for the dynamic spin susceptibility of3He-B which is valid for all magnetic fields. The coupling of real and imaginary modes by particle-hole asymmetry is taken into account. Then we calculate the contribution of the mode at frequency =2 – 1/4 ( is the effective Larmor frequency) to the transverse susceptibility. The spectral weight of this mode in magnetic resonance absorption is proportional to (/)1/2 (–)2, where and are particle-hole asymmetry parameters. From the experimental coupling strength of the real squashing mode to sound we estimate (–)210–4. The dynamic susceptibility satisfies the sum rules of Leggett. Finally we point out the difficulties in calculating the transverse NMR frequency of3He-B. These difficulties arise from theS z =0 Cooper pairs and from the coupling ofJ z =±1 modes forJ=1 andJ=2.  相似文献

The effects of substrate temperature (Ts) on the properties of vacuum evaporated p-type Ge thin films have been investigated for 25s<400°C. Increase in the substrate temperature improves the crystallinity and increases the grain size resulting a gradual change from amorphous to polycrystalline structure which was attained above a substrate temperature of 225°C. Low resistive (1×10–2 ohm-cm) and high mobility (280 cm2/V·s) films were obtained at Ts=400°C. It has been observed that the conduction mechanism in polycrystalline films was dominated successively by hopping, tunneling and thermionic emission as the sample temperature was increased from 40 to 400 K. In amorphous samples, conduction was described in terms of different hopping mechanisms.  相似文献

Anisotropy in the Knoop indentation hardness and the friction of diamond cones on calcium fluoride crystals has been investigated at experimental temperatures from 20 to 300° C. It is shown that the directions of minimum and maximum indentation hardness, on the (001) plane, are 110 and 100 respectively whilst the 1¯10 are harder than the 11¯2 directions on the (111) plane. Also, the sliding friction in the (001) plane is greatest in the 110 directions and least in the 100 and, on the (111) cleavage plane, [¯1¯12] sliding leads to higher friction than [11¯2]. The nature of anisotropy, for both hardness and friction measurements, does not change over the experimental temperature range covered in this work. Observations on the resultant deformation are made and these anisotropic properties are explained in terms of the effective resolved shear stresses developed on the {100} 011 primary slip systems at all experimental temperatures.  相似文献

The nature of the interface, the orientation relationship of -SiC whisker (-SiCw)-Al combination, and the misfit dislocation structures at the -SiCw-Al interfaces in a -SiCw-Al composite have been observed by a high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). It was shown that quite a good bonding between the whisker and the aluminium was achieved due largely to the lattice match between SiC and aluminium at the interfaces. The orientation relationship between the whisker and the aluminium was {002}SiC{111}Al; 110SiC110Al. The interface was clean, faceted and semicoherent. The misfit dislocation cores were located in the whisker side away from the -SiCw-Al interfaces.  相似文献

An imperfectly B2 ordered Fe3Al aggregate was cast, thermomechanically hot rolled and finally annealed at 870 K. Subsequently, the specimen was rolled at 800–830 K to a strain of 80%. The microstructure and the crystallographic texture of the rolled polycrystalline sample was investigated within the range =20–80%. The microstructure consisted of flat, elongated grains. In numerous grains straight slip lines were detected. Even after =80% recrystallization was not observed. The rolling texture of Fe3Al considerably deviates from that of non-ordered body centered cubic (b.c.c.) alloys and pure b.c.c. metals. The {111}uvw texture fibre (7-fibre) was very pronounced, while the {hkl}110 fibre (-fibre) was very weak. The {112}110 orientation which represents the strongest texture component in non-ordered b.c.c. alloys did not occur at all. The textures are discussed in terms of the {110}111, {112}111, {112}111 and {123}111 slip systems. The contribution of crystallographic slip of the various types of potential slip systems was simulated by means of the Taylor theory.  相似文献

The influence of flint water on the development of biochemical processes which cause the accumulation of selenium in the body of laboratory animals has been studied experimentally. A decrease in the bond energy of the molecule of flint water with the anion SeO3 2– in relation to the bond energy of the molecule of ordinary water and an increase in the coefficient of diffusion of this anion in bone and muscular tissues in filtration of flint water have been substantiated.  相似文献

Three-dimensional interactions of a crack front with arrays of penny-shaped microcracks are considered. The work extends the earlier analysis of 2-D crack-microcrack interactions to the 3-D configurations.After analysing simple elementary interaction events (involving only one microcrack) we solve the interaction problem for a number of sample arrays (containing up to 50 microcracks)-realizations of certain microcrack statistics.Statistical aspects of the problem are examined. The interaction effects are found to fluctuate, even qualitatively (from shielding to amplification) along the crack front: the intervals of reduced stress intensity factors (SIFs) alternate with local peaks of SIFs that enhance local front advances. Thus, no statistically stable effect of stress shielding is found (at least, for the microcrack statistics considered): the toughening by microcracking, if it exists, may be due to a statistics of the microcrack centers which is biased towards shielding configurations or to expenditure of energy on nucleation of new microcracks, rather than elastic interactions with them. Similarly to the 2-D case, stochastic asymmetries in the microcrack field produce noticeable secondary modes on the main crack (i.e., modes II and III under mode I loading); this may be partially responsible for crack kinking and an irregular crack path.The short range interactions (several microcracks closest to the main crack tip) play a dominant role. Their impact on the main crack is quite sensitive to the individual microcrack locations and cannot be adequately reproduced by modelling the short range microcracking zone by an effective elastic material of reduced stiffness.The interaction effects in 3-D are found to be weaker than in 2-D.  相似文献

Relaxation processes at temperatures above 20 °C in semicrystalline polyethylene-terephthalate have been studied using thermally stimulated depolarization currents (TSDC). The discharge curve shows three relaxation peaks (c, c and *) whose positions and intensities depend on the polarization conditions and the crystallinity. Relaxations c and c are heteropolar, while * may be homopolar or heteropolar according to the polarization temperature used. The effect of the crystallinity on these relaxations has been analysed by the thermal steps stimulation (TSS) method applied to an amorphous sample. Results show that c is fundamentally a dipolar relaxation associated with the amorphous interlamellar zone. The relaxation c is associated with the release of a free charge trapped in the amorphous regions, and * is a Maxwell–Wagner–Sillars relaxation associated with crystalline – amorphous interphases. For polarization temperatures above 150 °C, two relaxations are observed only as a consequence of overlapping C and * relaxations. © 1998 Chapman & Hall  相似文献

- brass two-phase bicrystals, consisting of fcc () single crystals and bee () single crystals, which were made by the solid state diffusion couple technique, were tensile-tested at room temperature in order to clarify the role of phase-interface on the deformation. The two-phase bicrystals had small concentration gradients in the- and-phases and satisfied the Kurjumov-Sach's orientation relationships i.e. {1 1 1} {1 1 0} and [1 1 0] [1 1 1] at the interface. The slip traces observed in bicrystals deformed to about 3% plastic strain showed a striking contrast between the- and-phases; the slip traces in the-phase were clear and straight, while those in the-phase were fine and wavy. The slip systems in the bicrystals were attributed to those observed in and single crystals, and were explained by a plastic strain incompatibility mechanism. Using the self-template technique, c-axis-oriented epitaxial YBa2Cu3O7 – thin films have been prepared in situ on LaAlO3 substrate by the d.c. magnetron sputtering method. The properties of thin film dependence on the deposition conditions of the two-step self-template method have been systematically investigated. By optimizing the parameters, high-quality YBCO thin films with T c0 90 K, T c 1 K, R s (77 K, 10 GHz)500 were reproducibly obtained. The best sample grown under optimal conditions gave a low R s of 330 at 77 K, 10 GHz, which can be used in a microwave field.  相似文献

Two kinds of tri-calcium phosphate ceramics (Ca/P = 1.50), -TCP and -TCP, which has the same macrostructure and microstructure, but different phase composition, were implanted in dorsal muscles of dogs. The samples were retrieved at 30, 45 and 150 days, respectively, after implantation, and were analyzed histologically. There were critically different tissue responses between -TCP ceramic and -TCP ceramic. Higher cell populations were observed inside the pores of -TCP than those of -TCP, bone tissue was found in -TCP at 45 and 150 days, but no bone formation could be detected in any -TCP implants in this study. On the other hand, the bone tissue in -TCP seemed to degenerate at 150 days. The results indicate that porous -TCP can induce bone formation in soft tissues of dogs; while the rapid dissolution of the ceramic and the higher local Ca2+, PO 4 3- concentration due to the rapid dissolution of -TCP may resist bone formation in -TCP and the less rapid dissolution of -TCP may be detrimental to already formed bone in -TCP.  相似文献

With the cohesive process zone representation of the micro-mechanistic processes that are associated with fracture as a basis, the author is involved in a wide-ranging research programme, the objective being to extend the fracture mechanics methodology for sharp cracks to blunt flaws, so as to take credit for the blunt flaw geometry. In earlier work, a Mode I fracture initiation relation has been derived, subject to the restriction that the process zone size s is small compared with the flaw depth (length) and any characteristic dimension other than the flaw root radius . The relation gives the critical elastic flaw-tip peak stress pcr, and has been derived using a two-extremes procedure, whereby the separate, and indeed exact, solutions for small and large s/ values are blended together to give an all-embracing relation that is valid for all s/ values. pcr is expressed in terms of the process zone material parameters and geometrical parameters but, for a wide range of flaw geometry parameters, pcr essentially depends on only one geometrical parameter . This paper provides underpinning for the general thrust of the two-extremes procedure by appealing to exact results for the complete spectrum of s/ values from analyses of appropriate Mode III models. Results obtained by applying the two-extremes procedure are shown to be in very good agreement with the exact results.  相似文献

The presence of an ac sound field causes several distinct effects in a system of two baths of superfluid liquid helium which are coupled by a small orifice. The primary effects of the sound field can be classified as a Z-T structure, steps, and anomalies. Each of these three effects has been subjected to various criteria which are necessary for an interpretation in terms of the ac Josephson effect. These three effects failed the criteria which were applied, and therefore they are not due to the Josephson effect. However, it is shown that the properties of these three effects correlate quite well with the expected properties of first-sound resonances within one of the two liquid baths.Financial support was provided in part by the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

Surface impedance measurements in the normal and superconducting state are an excellent method to study conduction electron dynamics and extended defects. Electron dynamics show up most clearly in the relaxation range, i.e., for distances traveled in one rf periods= F/ ( F Fermi velocity) being smaller or of the order of the penetration depth and mean free pathl. For materials with F107 cm/sec the relaxation range is easily accessible forf0.1 THz. Then, in the normal state, relaxation defines the surface impedance with an intrinsic penetration depth I approaching the London penetration depth L andR I 0 L/ 2 as surface resistance, allowing measurement of L and relaxation time(T, ). In the superconducting state the photon interaction scales with L/ L=1/( F dimension of Cooper pairs forl) and causes at low frequencies an absorption rate growing with, which is decreasing with F/l. The rate increase proportional to turns to a decrease above 0.1 THz, which is accompanied by a decrease ofA with frequency which is stronger for large and small F/l. These characteristic dependences allow measurement of material parameters, anisotropy, and dynamics of electrons, especially the relaxation rate. But presently, the rf surface impedanceZ is still shrinking with material improvements, which shows, clearly, that theZ=Z I+Z res is still dominated by extrinsic properties summarized inZ res. We present evidence thatZ res is due to the large leakage currentj bl and the smallj cJ of weak links where the latter destroys the intrinsic shielding from a I-thin seam J deep into the bulk. This causes rf residual lossesR res( 0)2 J 3 bl/2.R res stays finite atT-0 due to bl(T0) bl(j bl) being amplified by ( J/ I)3>103 as a weighting factor. The appropriate measure of weak links are the grain-boundary resistanceR bn((0)) enhancing JR bn andR resR bn 2 . Thus,Z res is minimal for minimal extrapolated resistivity(T0).To identify the weak links as a new entity, the H-field dependence is most helpful, because at very low fieldsH c 1J1/ J Josephson fluxons penetrate into the weak links. These Josephson fluxons show negligible flux flow or flux creep, and enhanceZ res by J(H, T) . The measuredj cJ(H, T) andj bl values explainZ res quantitatively as well as in temperature (a+T n ) (n1,T<T c /2) and in field (b+H n ) (n1,H>H c1J) dependence. The strength of the field dependencedZ res/dHZ res(H c1J )/H c2J(T) is not only a measure ofZ res andH c2J(T) but is crucial for nonlinear effects and (fluxon) noise also, which limit the performance of rf devices.  相似文献

We have studied the magnetic state from a viewpoint of crystallographic features of the 1-D chain compound Ca0.824CuO2. A possible spin-hole arrangement in the magnetically coexisting state was determined by analyzing the local structural distortion in the CuO2 chain by means of a modulated-crystal-structure analysis. The essential periodic sequence expected is (: up- and down-spin, : hole), which can be regarded as a kind of spin-1/2 ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic alternating Heisenberg chain.  相似文献

It is generally believed that a high electronic density-of-states n(EF), and therefore a low Fermi velocity vF, are required to obtain a high transition temperature, since Tc ph exp(–1/) and = n(EF)V. However, V = < I2 >/M ph 2 , and Bardeen showed that I EFkF = (1/2)k F 2 vF. Thus one may expect that should increase with vF. While it may not be feasable to increase the one-electron velocity vF signifcantly, the velocity may increase greatly as a result of renormalization by electron-electron interactions. Such a renormalization exists in Hartree-Fock theory for an unscreened electron-gas. We found that for a medium-density electron-gas (rs 10–20) imbedded in a background with a dielectric constant () such that / > 10, there is a significant increase of vF by renormalization, even when screening is taken into consideration. The peak of v(k) at k = kF is very narrow, the half width being somewhat less than the frequency 0 at which () falls by a factor of 2. When () is due to ionic polarization, o is a typical phonon frequency. The height of the peak vF/v F 0 is of order EF/0, and the width in units of momentum is: k/kF (0/EF)2. This velocity peak is associated with a minimum in the screening constant at Ep. Its sharpness causes the normal state properties to be highly anomalous; namely the conductivity is exceptionally high, with an anomalous temperature dependence; the conductivity anisotropy, thermoelectric power, and Hall constant are anomalous. Direct determination of v(k) in YBCO by several methods indeed suggests a large, sharp peak, the width being of order 10 me V. This peak manifests itself in the tunneling and point-contact spectroscopy I–V curves. We suggest that the reduced screening at the Fermi level, associated with this velocity peak, is responsible for the high Tc of the cuprates and several other exotic superconductors. Thus, the high Tc is a reflection of the anomalous normal-state properties.  相似文献

Methanation reactivity was studied for the surface carbon deposited from CO2 on the surface of Rh-bearing activated magnetite. The most active material (Rh=0.83 wt %) for methanation was prepared by the impregnation method at 60°C and showed 98% conversion at 300°C. The surface carbon was composed of elemental carbon (-carbon) and polymerized carbon (-carbon), the proportion being dependent on the density of carbon deposited. In temperature-programmed surface reaction, the extent of conversion of the - and -carbon to CH4 was 0.34 (-carbon) and 0.53 (-carbon), respectively, and the total conversion was 0.87. This result indicates that not only elemental carbon but polymerized carbon (-carbon) could be converted to CH4 on the Rh-bearing activated (-carbon) magnetite, whereas -carbon is not hydrogenated on activated magnetite.  相似文献
