In this paper, a robust actuator‐fault‐tolerant control (FTC) system is proposed for thrust‐vectoring aircraft (TVA) control. To this end, a TVA model with actuator fault dynamics, disturbances, and uncertain aerodynamic parameters is described, and a local fault detection and identification (FDI) mechanism is proposed to locate and identify faults, which utilizes an adaptive sliding‐mode observer (SMO) to detect actuator faults and two SMOs to identify and estimate their parameters. Finally, a fault‐tolerant controller is designed to compensate for these actuator faults, disturbances, and uncertain aerodynamic parameters; the approach combines back‐stepping control with fault parameters and a high‐order SMO. Furthermore, the stability of the entire control system is validated, and simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and potential for this robust FTC system.

In this paper, an actuator fault diagnosis scheme is proposed for a class of affine nonlinear systems with both known and unknown inputs. The scheme is based on a novel input/output relation derived from the considered nonlinear systems and the use of the recently developed high-order sliding-mode robust differentiators. The main advantages of the proposed approach are that it does not require a design of nonlinear observer and applies to systems not necessarily detectable. Conditions are provided to characterize the feasibility of fault detection and isolation using the proposed scheme and the maximum number of isolatable actuator faults. The efficacy of the proposed actuator fault diagnosis approach is tested through experiments on a laboratory 3D Crane, and the experimental results show that the proposed actuator fault diagnosis approach is promising and can achieve fault detection and isolation satisfactorily.  相似文献

This paper considers the design of low-order unknown input functional observers for robust fault detection and isolation of a class of nonlinear Lipschitz systems subject to unknown inputs. The proposed functional observers can be used to generate residual signals to detect and isolate actuator faults. By using the generalized inverse approach, the effect of the unknown inputs can be decoupled completely from the residual signals. Conditions for the existence and stability of reduced-order unknown input functional observer are derived. A design procedure for the generation of residual signals to detect and isolate actuator faults is presented using the proposed unknown-input observer-based approach. A numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed fault diagnosis scheme in nonlinear systems subject to unknown inputs.  相似文献

This paper presents a disturbance decoupled fault reconstruction (DDFR) scheme using cascaded sliding mode observers (SMOs). The processed signals from a SMO are found to be the output of a fictitious system which treats the faults and disturbances as inputs; the ‘outputs’ are then fed into the next SMO. This process is repeated until the attainment of a fictitious system which satisfies the conditions that guarantee DDFR. It is found that this scheme is less restrictive and enables DDFR for a wider class of systems compared to previous work when only one or two SMOs were used. This paper also presents a systematic routine to check for the feasibility of the scheme and to calculate the required number of SMOs from the outset and also to design the DDFR scheme. A design example verifies its effectiveness.  相似文献

A robust nonlinear analytical redundancy (RNLAR) technique is presented to detect and isolate actuator and sensor faults in a mobile robot. Both model-plant-mismatch (MPM) and process disturbance are considered during fault detection. The RNLAR is used to design primary residual vectors (PRV), which are highly sensitive to the faults and less sensitive to MPM and process disturbance, for sensor and actuator fault detection. The PRVs are then transformed into a set of structured residual vectors (SRV) for fault isolation. Experimental results on a Pioneer 3-DX mobile robot are presented to justify the effectiveness of the RNLAR scheme.  相似文献

The use of an optimised parity space approach for actuator fault detection and isolation (FDI) is explored. The parity space spans all the parity relations that quantify the analytical redundancies available between the sensor outputs and the actuator inputs of a system. A transformation matrix is then optimised to transform these parity relations into residuals that are especially sensitive to specific actuator faults. Actuator faults cause the variance of parity space residuals to increase. A cumulative summation procedure is used to determine when residual variance has changed sufficiently to indicate a locked-in-place actuator fault. A pseudoinverse actuator estimation scheme is used to extract the actuator deflections from the parity relations. It is found that the optimisation of the parity space approach introduces the advantage of added design freedom to the fault detection algorithm. The approach is applied to the identification of faulty aircraft control surface actuators that remain locked-in-place during flight and is successfully tested both in simulation and practical flight.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new scheme for estimating the actuator and sensor fault for Lipschitz nonlinear systems with unstructured uncertainties using the sliding mode observer (SMO) technique. Initially, a coordinate transformation is introduced to transform the original state vector into two parts such that the actuator faults only appear in the dynamics of the second state vector. The concept of equivalent output error injection is then employed to estimate the actuator fault. The effects of system uncertainties on the estimation errors of states and faults are minimized by integrating an uncertainty attenuation level into the observer. The sufficient conditions for the state estimation error to be bounded and satisfy a prescribed performance are derived and expressed as a linear matrix inequality (LMI) optimization problem. Furthermore, the proposed actuator fault estimation method is extended to sensor fault estimation. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in estimating actuator and sensor faults has been illustrated considering an example of a single‐link flexible joint robot system.  相似文献

This paper deals with subspace method aided data-driven design of robust fault detection and isolation systems. The basic idea is to identify a primary form of residual generators directly from test data and then make use of performance indices to make uniform the design of different type robust residuals. Four algorithms are proposed to design fault detection, isolation and identification residual generators. Each of them can achieve robustness to unknown inputs and sensitivity to sensor or actuator faults. Their existence conditions and multi-fault identification problem are briefly analyzed as well and the application of the method proposed is illustrated by a simulation study on the vehicle lateral dynamic system.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a simultaneous state estimation and fault estimation approach for a class of first‐order hyperbolic partial integral differential equation systems. Specifically, we consider the multiplicative boundary actuator and sensor faults, ie, unknown fault parameters multiplying by the boundary input or boundary state (ie, output). As a consequence, two difficulties arise immediately: (1) simultaneous estimation of both plant state and faults is a nonlinear problem due to the multiplication between fault parameters and plant signals; (2) no prior information is available to determine the type (actuator or sensor) of faults. To overcome these difficulties, this paper develops adaptive fault parameter update laws and embeds the resulting laws into the plant state observer design. First, we propose new approaches to estimate actuator fault and sensor fault, respectively. Next, we develop a novel method to simultaneously estimate actuator and sensor faults. The proposed observer and update laws, designed using only one boundary measurement, ensure both state estimation and fault parameter estimation. By choosing appropriate Lyapunov functions, we prove that the estimates of state and fault parameters converge to an arbitrarily small neighborhood of their true values. Numerical simulations are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed estimation approaches.  相似文献

This article outlines the formulation of a robust fault detection and isolation (FDI) scheme that can precisely detect and isolate simultaneous actuator and sensor faults for uncertain linear stochastic systems. The given robust fault detection scheme based on the discontinuous robust observer approach would be able to distinguish between model uncertainties and actuator failures and therefore eliminate the problem of false alarms. Since the proposed approach involves estimating sensor faults, it can also be used for sensor fault identification and the reconstruction of true outputs from faulty sensor outputs. Simulation results presented here validate the effectiveness of the proposed robust FDI system.  相似文献

This paper considers the observer-based fault detection and isolation design problems when the observer matching condition is not satisfied. Based on the relative degree concept, an auxiliary output vector that may satisfy the observer matching condition is constructed. Since the auxiliary output vector contains unknown information, we use a high-order high-gain sliding-mode observer to exactly estimate not only the auxiliary outputs, but also their derivatives in a finite time. Then, an adaptive robust full-order observer is developed to serve as an actuator fault detection observer. For the actuator fault reconstruction purpose, a reduced-order observer is proposed to estimate the system states even if there are some actuator faults and an actuator fault reconstruction method is provided to reach the fault isolation purpose. A numerical simulation example is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.  相似文献

Given a number of possibly concurrent faults (and disturbances) that may affect a nonlinear dynamic system, it may not be possible to solve the standard fault detection and isolation (FDI) problem, i.e., to detect and isolate each single fault from all other, possibly concurrent faults and disturbances, due to the violation of the available necessary conditions of geometric nature. Motivated by a robotic application where this negative situation structurally occurs, we propose some relaxed formulations of the FDI problem and show how necessary and sufficient conditions for their solution can be derived from those available for standard FDI. The design of a hybrid residual generator follows directly from the fulfillment of the corresponding solvability conditions. In the considered nonlinear case study, a robotic system affected by possible actuator and/or force sensor faults, we detail the application of these results and present experimental tests for validation.  相似文献

The paper describes a method for detecting and identifying faults that occur in the sensors or in the actuators of dynamical systems with discrete-valued inputs and outputs. The model used in the diagnosis is a stochastic automaton. The generalized observer scheme (GOS), which has been proposed for systems with continuous-variable inputs and outputs some years ago, are developed for discrete systems. This scheme solves the diagnostic problem as an observation problem, which is set up here for discrete-event systems. As the system under consideration is described by a stochastic automaton rather than a differential equation, the mathematical background and the diagnostic algorithms obtained are completely different from the well-known observers developed for continuous-variable systems. The GOS is extended here by a fault detection module to cope with plant faults that are different from actuator or sensor faults. The diagnostic algorithm consists of two steps, the first detecting the existence of a fault and the second isolating possible sensor or actuator faults or identifying plant faults. The results are applied to quantized systems whose discrete inputs and outputs result from a quantization of the continuous-variable input and output signals. Experimental results illustrate the proposed diagnostic method.  相似文献
