The rapid development of wearable electronics requires a revolution of power accessories regarding flexibility and energy density. The Li–CO2 battery was recently proposed as a novel and promising candidate for next‐generation energy‐storage systems. However, the current Li–CO2 batteries usually suffer from the difficulties of poor stability, low energy efficiency, and leakage of liquid electrolyte, and few flexible Li–CO2 batteries for wearable electronics have been reported so far. Herein, a quasi‐solid‐state flexible fiber‐shaped Li–CO2 battery with low overpotential and high energy efficiency, by employing ultrafine Mo2C nanoparticles anchored on a carbon nanotube (CNT) cloth freestanding hybrid film as the cathode, is demonstrated. Due to the synergistic effects of the CNT substrate and Mo2C catalyst, it achieves a low charge potential below 3.4 V, a high energy efficiency of ≈80%, and can be reversibly discharged and charged for 40 cycles. Experimental results and theoretical simulation show that the intermediate discharge product Li2C2O4 stabilized by Mo2C via coordinative electrons transfer should be responsible for the reduction of overpotential. The as‐fabricated quasi‐solid‐state flexible fiber‐shaped Li–CO2 battery can also keep working normally even under various deformation conditions, giving it great potential of becoming an advanced energy accessory for wearable electronics. 相似文献

Metal–CO2 batteries represent a promising priority for sustainable energy and the environment. However, CO2 utilization in nonaqueous electrolytes mostly involves difficult CO2 electrochemistry, leading to poor selectivity and limited cycle performance. Herein, an aqueous rechargeable Zn–CO2 electrochemical cell that tunably produced CO fuel gas (90% Faradaic efficiency) during cell discharge (cathodic reaction: CO2 + 2e? + 2H+ → CO + H2O) and O2 during cell charge at ≈2 V (cathodic reaction: H2O → 1/2O2 + 2e? + 2H+), mimicking the separate steps of CO2 fixation and water oxidation during photosynthesis while exhibiting the advantages of high efficiency, tunable products, and operation independent of sunlight is proposed and realized. The cell achieves a remarkable energy efficiency of 68% with fuel generation, providing an alternative for the green, efficient, and safe utilization of CO2 by metal–CO2 batteries. 相似文献

Flexible solid‐state Zn–air batteries have been rapidly developed benefiting from the uprising demand for wearable electronic devices, wherein the air electrode integrated with efficient bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts plays an important role to achieve high performance. Binder‐free self‐supported bifunctional catalysts can provide large active surface area, fast electron transport path, easy ion diffusion, and excellent structural stability and flexibility, thus acting as promising flexible air cathodes. In this review, recent advances on the application of nanoarrayed electrocatalysts as air cathodes in flexible Zn–air batteries are reviewed. Especially, various types of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts, including carbonaceous material arrays, transition metal compound arrays, transition metal/carbon arrays, transition metal compound/carbon arrays, and other hybrid arrays, are discussed. The applications of flexible Zn–air batteries with two configurations (i.e., planar stacks and cable fibers) are also introduced. Finally, perspectives on the optimization of arrayed air cathodes for future development to achieve high‐performance flexible Zn–air batteries are shared. 相似文献

On‐chip micro‐supercapacitors (MSCs), as promising power candidates for microdevices, typically exhibit high power density, large charge/discharge rates, and long cycling lifetimes. However, as for most reported MSCs, the unsatisfactory areal energy density (<10 µWh cm?2) still hinders their practical applications. Herein, a new‐type Zn‐ion hybrid MSC with ultrahigh areal energy density and long‐term durability is demonstrated. Benefiting from fast ion adsorption/desorption on the capacitor‐type activated‐carbon cathode and reversible Zn stripping/plating on the battery‐type electrodeposited Zn‐nanosheet anode, the fabricated Zn‐ion hybrid MSCs exhibit remarkable areal capacitance of 1297 mF cm?2 at 0.16 mA cm?2 (259.4 F g?1 at a current density of 0.05 A g?1), landmark areal energy density (115.4 µWh cm?2 at 0.16 mW cm?2), and a superb cycling stability without noticeable decay after 10 000 cycles. This work will inspire the fabrication and development of new high‐performance microenergy devices based on novel device design. 相似文献

The rapid development of flexible and wearable electronics proposes the persistent requirements of high‐performance flexible batteries. Much progress has been achieved recently, but how to obtain remarkable flexibility and high energy density simultaneously remains a great challenge. Here, a facile and scalable approach to fabricate spine‐like flexible lithium‐ion batteries is reported. A thick, rigid segment to store energy through winding the electrodes corresponds to the vertebra of animals, while a thin, unwound, and flexible part acts as marrow to interconnect all vertebra‐like stacks together, providing excellent flexibility for the whole battery. As the volume of the rigid electrode part is significantly larger than the flexible interconnection, the energy density of such a flexible battery can be over 85% of that in conventional packing. A nonoptimized flexible cell with an energy density of 242 Wh L?1 is demonstrated with packaging considered, which is 86.1% of a standard prismatic cell using the same components. The cell also successfully survives a harsh dynamic mechanical load test due to this rational bioinspired design. Mechanical simulation results uncover the underlying mechanism: the maximum strain in the reported design (≈0.08%) is markedly smaller than traditional stacked cells (≈1.1%). This new approach offers great promise for applications in flexible devices. 相似文献

Highly active and durable air cathodes to catalyze both the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) are urgently required for rechargeable metal–air batteries. In this work, an efficient bifunctional oxygen catalyst comprising hollow Co3O4 nanospheres embedded in nitrogen‐doped carbon nanowall arrays on flexible carbon cloth (NC‐Co3O4/CC) is reported. The hierarchical structure is facilely derived from a metal–organic framework precursor. A carbon onion coating constrains the Kirkendall effect to promote the conversion of the Co nanoparticles into irregular hollow oxide nanospheres with a fine scale nanograin structure, which enables promising catalytic properties toward both OER and ORR. The integrated NC‐Co3O4/CC can be used as an additive‐free air cathode for flexible all‐solid‐state zinc–air batteries, which present high open circuit potential (1.44 V), high capacity (387.2 mAh g?1, based on the total mass of Zn and catalysts), excellent cycling stability and mechanical flexibility, significantly outperforming Pt‐ and Ir‐based zinc–air batteries. 相似文献

A critical bottleneck limiting the performance of rechargeable zinc–air batteries lies in the inefficient bifunctional electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction and evolution reactions at the air electrodes. Hybridizing transition‐metal oxides with functional graphene materials has shown great advantages due to their catalytic synergism. However, both the mediocre catalytic activity of metal oxides and the restricted 2D mass/charge transfer of graphene render these hybrid catalysts inefficient. Here, an effective strategy combining anion substitution, defect engineering, and the dopant effect to address the above two critical issues is shown. This strategy is demonstrated on a hybrid catalyst consisting of sulfur‐deficient cobalt oxysulfide single crystals and nitrogen‐doped graphene nanomeshes (CoO0.87S0.13/GN). The defect chemistries of both oxygen‐vacancy‐rich, nonstoichiometric cobalt oxysulfides and edge‐nitrogen‐rich graphene nanomeshes lead to a remarkable improvement in electrocatalytic performance, where CoO0.87S0.13/GN exhibits strongly comparable catalytic activity to and much better stability than the best‐known benchmark noble‐metal catalysts. In application to quasi‐solid‐state zinc–air batteries, CoO0.87S0.13/GN as a freestanding catalyst assembly benefits from both structural integrity and enhanced charge transfer to achieve efficient and very stable cycling operation over 300 cycles with a low discharge–charge voltage gap of 0.77 V at 20 mA cm?2 under ambient conditions. 相似文献

High‐performance flexible lithium–oxygen (Li–O2) batteries with excellent safety and stability are urgently required due to the rapid development of flexible and wearable devices. Herein, based on an integrated solid‐state design by taking advantage of component‐interaction between poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐hexafluoropropylene) and nanofumed silica in polymer matrix, a stable quasi‐solid‐state electrolyte (PS‐QSE) for the Li–O2 battery is proposed. The as‐assembled Li–O2 battery containing the PS‐QSE exhibits effectively improved anodic reversibility (over 200 cycles, 850 h) and cycling stability of the battery (89 cycles, nearly 900 h). The improvement is attributed to the stability of the PS‐QSE (including electrochemical, chemical, and mechanical stability), as well as the effective protection of lithium anode from aggressive soluble intermediates generated in cathode. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the interaction among the components plays a pivotal role in modulating the Li‐ion conducting mechanism in the as‐prepared PS‐QSE. Moreover, the pouch‐type PS‐QSE based Li–O2 battery also shows wonderful flexibility, tolerating various deformations thanks to its integrated solid‐state design. Furthermore, holes can be punched through the Li–O2 battery, and it can even be cut into any desired shape, demonstrating exceptional safety. Thus, this type of battery has the potential to meet the demands of tailorability and comformability in flexible and wearable electronics. 相似文献

High‐performance bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis constitutes the key technique for the widespread application of clean and sustainable energy through electrochemical devices such as rechargeable Zn–air batteries. Single‐atom electrocatalysts with maximum atom efficiency are highly considered as an alternative of the present noble‐metal‐based electrocatalysts. However, the fabrication of transition metal single‐atoms is very challenging, requiring extensive attempts of precursors with novel design principles. Herein, an all‐covalently constructed cobalt‐coordinated framework porphyrin with graphene hybridization is innovatively designed and prepared as the pyrolysis precursor to fabricate single‐atom Co–Nx–C electrocatalysts. Excellent electrochemical performances are realized for both bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis and rechargeable Zn–air batteries with regard to reduced overpotentials, improved kinetics, and prolonged cycling stability comparable with noble‐metal‐based electrocatalysts. Design principles from multiple scales are proposed and rationalized with detailed mechanism investigation. This work not only provides a novel precursor for the fabrication of high‐performance single‐atom electrocatalysts, but also inspires further attempts to develop advanced materials and emerging applications. 相似文献

An efficient and low‐cost electrocatalyst for reversible oxygen electrocatalysis is crucial for improving the performance of rechargeable metal?air batteries. Herein, a novel oxygen vacancy–rich 2D porous In‐doped CoO/CoP heterostructure (In‐CoO/CoP FNS) is designed and developed by a facile free radicals–induced strategy as an effective bifunctional electrocatalyst for rechargeable Zn–air batteries. The electron spin resonance and X‐ray absorption near edge spectroscopy provide clear evidence that abundant oxygen vacancies are formed in the interface of In‐CoO/CoP FNS. Owing to abundant oxygen vacancies, porous heterostructure, and multiple components, In‐CoO/CoP FNS exhibits excellent oxygen reduction reaction activity with a positive half‐wave potential of 0.81 V and superior oxygen evolution reaction activity with a low overpotential of 365 mV at 10 mA cm?2. Moreover, a home‐made Zn–air battery with In‐CoO/CoP FNS as an air cathode delivers a large power density of 139.4 mW cm?2, a high energy density of 938 Wh kgZn?1, and can be steadily cycled over 130 h at 10 mA cm?2, demonstrating great application potential in rechargeable metal–air batteries. 相似文献

With the rising development of flexible and wearable electronics, corresponding flexible energy storage devices with high energy density are required to provide a sustainable energy supply. Theoretically, rechargeable flexible Li–O2 batteries can provide high specific energy density; however, there are only a few reports on the construction of flexible Li–O2 batteries. Conventional flexible Li–O2 batteries possess a loose battery structure, which prevents flexibility and stability. The low mechanical strength of the gas diffusion layer and anode also lead to a flexible Li–O2 battery with poor mechanical properties. All these attributes limit their practical applications. Herein, the authors develop an integrated flexible Li–O2 battery based on a high‐fatigue‐resistance anode and a novel flexible stretchable gas diffusion layer. Owing to the synergistic effect of the stable electrocatalytic activity and hierarchical 3D interconnected network structure of the free‐standing cathode, the obtained flexible Li–O2 batteries exhibit superior electrochemical performance, including a high specific capacity, an excellent rate capability, and exceptional cycle stability. Furthermore, benefitting from the above advantages, the as‐fabricated flexible batteries can realize excellent mechanical and electrochemical stability. Even after a thousand cycles of the bending process, the flexible Li–O2 battery can still possess a stable open‐circuit voltage, a high specific capacity, and a durable cycle performance. 相似文献
